My thoughts on the current WWE product

Saturday, October 17, 2009, 12:48 PM EST [General]

Hey WWE universe, it's been quite sometime since ive felt the need or had the time to blog my thoughts on the current WWE product. However I have time in my busy scheudal of work and play to do so now. So I hope you will all read this when I'm done and provide me with your thoughts and opinions as I try to be honest yet sincere of todays WWE product.

Firstly I would like to say that ECW is doing a stellar job in creating new WWE superstars as well as polishing off some already established names. GM Tiffany has done a great job in bringing in guys like Yoshi Tatsu who I believe is on his way to becomming something great in the WWE. Another name on ECW who I'm enjoying more and more lately is Zack Ryder. You may think he's annoying but if you watch him closely you can see the hunger and drive inside of him to be the best. So whenever I get a chance to watch ECW I'm always entertained kudos to ECW GM Tiffany for helping WWE establish the new breed of superstars to come.

Now the next brand I've been kinda on the fence about really. I mean there will be times when I wanna watch and times when I don't but having General Manager Teddy Long in charge of Smackdown he has certainly or atleast tried to keep the tradition of making new superstars alive on Smackdown. I mean the guy has turned on of the most annoying superstars in Dolph Ziggler into quite possibly the fastest rising breakout superstar for Smackdown getting back to back intercontinental championship shots and qualifying for team Smackdown for bragging rights. The same can be said for new arrivals Drew Mcintyre and Eric Escobar. Drew Mcintyre has been on a tear when facing or attacking R-Truth, however I still want to see him test himself against other superstars on Smackdown besides Truth, which I think he will get to do following Bragging Rights and Eric Escobar looks impressive getting a win over a veteran like Matt Hardy to make his Pay Per View debut in just a few short weeks is impressive to me. The only problem I have with Smackdown is the constant CM Punk chase for the title right now. I saw that Smackdown was suffering in main event talent but constantly having CM Punk vs the Undertaker or CM Punk as the champion vs already established main eventers will and has gotten stale fast. I say continue using Smackdown to establish new main eventers.

Lastly we have RAW, the thing I most like about RAW right now is the special guest host concept they have going. I mean think about it. You know its celebrities that get to run the show but its like having cyber sunday week in and week out because celebrity fans get to run the show their way without concequences dont know if I spelled that word right but you get my point. What I don't like about RAW is the fact that once again we are constantly having Randy Orton vs John Cena shoved down our throats for every pay per view, like come on already give guys like MVP, Jack Swagger, Mark Henry and guys you've accquired from Smackdown and ECW  who have established themselves have a shot at the main championship. Also another thing kind of bugging me yet I kind of enjoy are the trades the special guest hosts are doing what seems to be like every few months they need to stop thats what the yearly WWE draft and supplemental drafts are for.  However I would like to send out a special thank you to Nancy Odell and Maria Menounos for bringing the likes of Melina, Eve and The Bella Twins back to Monday night RAW.

I would like to give out some helpful advice if I may to the GM's of each brand if I may which I can't stress enough from a fans point of view. Keep things fresh and new and keep the fans entertained. switch things up by having younger or guys who havent had a shot at the major championships step up so things dont go stale for the fans.

So I think that about does it for my blog. I hope you have enjoyed my thoughts and I look forward to your thoughts and critiques. Thanks for reading.

No Way Out Fallout And my thoughts leading to Wrestlemania 25

Monday, February 16, 2009, 05:51 PM EST [General]

What's up WWE Universe? Hope everyone out there is doing great and I know yet again it has been quite sometime that I posted a blog up about things happening in the WWE but that was because things in my opinion were looking a little stale really but that was because up until Armaggedon and the Royal Rumble everything was. So if you will indulge yourself in my thoughts of the WWE's latest showings and what happend since Armageddon.

Jeff Hardy was given his chance to take the torch and run with it so to speak and I loved it, this has put Jeff Hardy on the map as a major player in anything going forward in the WWE now. However at the Royal Rumble I was shocked to find out that the black cloud following Jeff was his own brother or should I say former brother Matt Hardy sorry Matt I corrected myself and let me just say I think things are going to get really interesting between these to after seeing no way out and reading Matt's blog earlie and I can't wait to see what happens on Smackdown. In my opinion this should be one of the best fueds the WWE has given us so far this year.

Next could we see the last of the ECW originals be leaving the WWE in the near future? Personally I hope not and from what i've seen as of this past week ECW is about to make things for itself really interesting because Captain Charisma Christian has come back to save his peeps! First off Welcome back home Christian, now heading into Wrestlemania 25 heres what I would love to see, I would love to see a triple threat Extreme rules match for the ECW championship putting Tommy Dreamer vs Christian vs Jack Swagger that would be a great way for ECW to steal the show at the grandest stage of them all providing Jack Swagger has the guts to accept such a match if that were to happen what do you guys think?

Hmmm what else am I missing oh yeah... After last night it looks as if Monday Night RAW is without a world champion kinda weird huh? were they not without a champion sometime after Wrestlemania last year too? I really wonder what is going to happen tonight on RAW. I am really at a loss for words here because for now it looks like the only one that can save RAW at Wrestlemania is that Viper Randy Orton who has his hands full with the biggest legends in the business but I find myself saying Save us Randy Orton. I mean love him or hate him the man is on a roll and I believe he will be a champion at the end of this years Wrestlemania.

Finally it looks as if Smackdown has made good on its promise they made after last years WWE draft and that was that they were going to be the dominate brand this year Now after their showing at No Way Out lastnight I believe they are. They are holding both the WWE and World Heavyweight championships all thanks to the oppertunistic and Rated R superstar Edge who once again lived up to his monikers by winning or stealing the World heavyweight championship and taking it to smackdown. Now call it what you will winning or stealing it. Promise made promise fulfilled I would say yes and Smackdown is now the dominate show in the WWE.

Whats to come after Wrestlemania? Only the WWE draft knows for sure at this time. All I know is that last night was awesome and I am looking forward to tonights RAW as well as Wrestlemania. This has been my thoughts on No Way Out and  what I would like to see happen leading into Wrestlemania.

Please leave me some feedback if you like or dislike my thoughts of what has happend and what I would like to see happen.

    Until next time

My Thoughts on Survivor Series 2008

Monday, November 24, 2008, 07:30 PM EST [General]

    Hey WWE Universe, whats up?

So it's been a few months since I last wrote a blog and I am sorry it's been so long. I have been working nonstop except for weekends and trying to keep up with the Pay Per View and Live RAW Blogs, which I'm sure most of you if not all of you are too. If you aren't checking them out I strongly urge you to. You can connect with the superstars and divas you love and the ones you love to hate. So check them out.

Anyways appologies and plugs for WWE's live blogs aside on to business. Lastnight I tuned into Survivor Series 08 and I have to say I found some parts a little boring although that couldve been just the 3 traditional survivor series matches almost back to back to back. I also found that the Big Show vs Undertaker was very one sided but the Bigshow in the end got what he deserved. However it couldve been better with more back and forth action.

The things I liked about this years Survivor Series was that they finally took the world championship and WWE championship off of Chris Jericho and Triple H. Both are two of my favourite wrestlers but they were getting a little stale as champions seeing them as champions up until lastnight and althought it was John Cenas big night to return I have to say Smackdown's main event ending stole the show for me. Edge being able to capitalize off of Jeff Hardy's rampage was genious if you ask me. However I expect Jeff Hardy to put Edge through a world of extereme hurt as Hardy's night to capture his big title was taken from him lastnight.

Onto Raw's world title match. John Cena made a great comeback to win his first World title from Chris Jericho and I expect both RAW and Smackdown to be refreshing to watch again with both shows having new title holders but with RAW and John Cena returning from injury. I still see everyone targeting his injury to take the championship from Cena in the next little while.

Over all lastnights Survivor Series to me out of 10 I would give about a 7 or 8 due to nothing really standing out and shocking me besides Edge stealing the WWE championship.

Those are my thoughts on Lastnights Pay Per View WWE Universe. Hope to hear your opinions on my thoughts wether you agree or disagree. I love to hear your feed back

Until next time Universe stay safe and enjoy your week of WWE action and to everyone in America Happy Thanksgiving.

    Your friend

JCAL's WWE Week In Review for Monday August 4th-Friday August 9th

Saturday, August 9, 2008, 12:15 PM EST [General]

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages.....No this is not hype for D Generation X. I just always wanted to open with that in a blog. Welcome to another edition of JCAL's WWE week in review. Alot of things have happend this week that have suprised me, made me laugh and well just made me angry this week. So lets get right to it and as DX's song says with no pun intended from it break this week down shall we?

The first week for new  RAW GM Mike Adamle has come and gone and while keeping an open mind about his new position, I was hoping for an entertaining show and I must say I wasn't disappointed and I bet all you people who doubted Mr. Adamle are kicking yourself in the pants for putting him down before his first full week on the job aren't you? Monday was a great show for you Mr. Adamle so keep up the good work. To those of you who missed RAW this is what happened Both Mickie James and Kofi Kingston in singles action showed the Burchills who the real champs are once again  when  it came to the womens championship and the intercontinental championship, but that didn't end the champions weeks there. Later on in the show they found out that at summerslam the pair will face the glamazon and the man who runs the Casa Santino Marella in tag team action in  a winner taker all match for both championships. Else where on RAW Kane defeated Matt Striker, JBL finally got his World Heavyweight title shot by teaming with Jericho in a 2 on 1 handicap match where the person who pinned CM Punk would get a title shot at Summerslam. In the main event the world was shocked as opponents for the biggest blockbuster of the Summer coexhisted to capture the world tag team championships when Batista put away Ted Debiase Jr with a Batista bomb allowing Batista and John Cena to become tag team champions together. How long can these two coexhist though? I don't know, but a very entertaining RAW for the first week of the Adamle era. Before I move on to ECW's review though I have to say next week Adamle has ordered Kane to reveal whats in the bag or he will take the bag himself and let's just say with Kane's past things don't look good for Mr. Adamle this week having to deal with the big read machine.

ECW this week, was a great week for the ECW new commers this week as Ricky Ortiz and Evan Bourne defeated Chavo Gurerro and Bam Neely and Braden Walker defeated James Curtis in the mainevent. However the biggest news comming out of this weeks ECW is that Armando Estrada has his contract from the help of Collin Delaney as Estrada defeated Tommy Dreamer. Also it looks like ECW has it's own talk show segment as the number one show on WWE.com and my favourite show The Dirt Sheet went live for the first time and the first live edition didn't disappoint as I found it more hilarious than ever before. ECW looks to be on the rise with all this new talent from Teddy Long's talent being brought in and I must say I like it.

With ECW and RAW now reviewed, I now find myself reviewing Friday Night Smackdown and Friday night in general. I was very entertained by Smackdown, however when I went on WWE.com lastnight I was shocked and a little angry and I will tell you why later, for now let's review Smackdown. Lastnight's edition was jam packed with action. Natalya,Victoria and Maryse defeated Michelle, Maria and Cherry in the opening Olympic represented diva match. Ryder and Hawkins defeated Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore in tag team action. Shelton Benjamin and MVP's opponent for Summerslam Jeff Hardy ended up a no contest due to MVP distraction. The Great Kalhi proved to be a force for the WWE championship as he made Triple H pass out in the vice grip after their arm wrestling match went to a no contest. Vladamir Kozlov is still undefeated defeating Jesse in a quick match and The Brian Kendrick defeated Super Crazy with his finisher "The Brian Kendrick". As if the action wasn't action packed enough for the show I have to say lastnights show belongs to Edge as he throughout the night took out La Famillia showing us a different Edge heading into Hell in a Cell with The Undertaker. So it looks as if Edge has finally decided to do things for himself once again.

So you can see this week for TV programming in the WWE was once again nothing short of entertaining. However what makes me upset this week is that WWE has decided to do some summer cleaning so to speak and release some superstars. Last night as well as thursday, WWE decided to release ECW new commer Braden Walker,Nunzio, James Curtis, Shannon Moore, Big Daddy V  Domino and referee Nick Patrick. Now what bothers me is that James Curtis and Braden Walker only had like one or two matches and were hardly given a chance by WWE when it came to being on WWE TV. Anyway theres some information if you haven't read it yet or seen it.

This has been another edition of JCAL's WWE week in review, hope to hear your comments following this blog. Until next week WWE Universe.

JCAL's WWE Week In Review Edition #2

Saturday, August 2, 2008, 11:10 PM EST [General]

Good evening, afternoon or morning to you all WWE Universe. It's been  a while since I reviewd some WWE programming and I must appaulagize for that but life has been busy with alot of work, I hope you can all forgive me. With that out of the way, let's review this week in the WWE shall we?

Monday night Raw, what can you say about it this week huh? Well it definately was entertaining. I mean its not every week I get to see my favourite McMahon on  WWE programming. Of course im talking about Shane McMahon, whenever he decides to show up on television you can bet its with a shocking suprise and once again he didn't disappoint, as he announced that Raw was leaderless no more as a new GM was named in of all people...Mike Adamle. Now like you I was not thrilled with this but I am not one to shoot the bullet out of the barrel. I mean the guy did make Batista vs Cena for Summerslam. I honestly think Mr. Admle will end up suprising us with some really good matches in the near future. Now on with some other things in Raw that I would like to review. The Burchills are looking to continue their impact and Katie Lea did just that this week taking out Mickie James after Mickies match and I foresee Mickie vs Katie for the womens title soon. Once again I find myself intrigued with the Beth and Santino situation it's kinda weird if you ask me but hey who knows where its going. Now is it just me or is Kane going insane or what? I mean the guys continuing to attack people for no reason and whats the deal with the burlap sack? Heading out of this week it seems as if Raw is booking some major must see matches, however no one has been chosen to face the world heavyweight champion. Personally I hope thats settled this Monday. All in all Raw had my attention this week with intresting matches and storyline build up. I really hope Shane and Stephanie made the right choice for the GM of RAW.

ECW this week followed suit this week building up its mainevent for Summerslam and establishing Collin Delaney as a heel, although to me he needs more work and needs to work on his persona. The mainevent saw Matt Hardy prove to the world that he is ready for a world title reign will Summerslam be his shining moment in the sun? No pun intended, New commer Ricky Ortiz continued his winning ways going 2-0 in the land of extreme and I'm liking this guys ring ability. The dirt sheet duo also look to be in the hunt of Ryder and Hawkins as they disposed of Finlay and Hornswoggle and I believe we will see the rematch of Smackdown's edge heads and the dirt sheet duo. My personal thoughts on ECW under the helm of Teddy Long, I think ECW will continue to get better and better.

Comming out of Smackdown this week the lovely Maria made her long awaited debut and I for one am glad to see this lovely diva back on my tv sceen. Over the past couple weeks that I haven't been able to blog it seem's as though MVP has hatered for The Hardys only this time he now targets Jeff Hardy and I don't know why but I think MVP is jelous of Jeff's singles success in the WWE. After this weeks Smackdown it seems that Mr. Kennedy..........wait for it........Kennedy looks to be in the United States title hunt after defeating the gold standard Shelton Benjamin. Finally Edge brought us The Cutting Edge this week as he prepared for the returning Undertaker. Now if you ask me preparing for someone like the deadman takes alot more than a talk show. However he did find a very good source in Mick Foley to help him prepare but come Summerslam I doubt Edge with withstand the returning Undertaker and I cannot wait for this match because I think Edge will get whats comming to him.

To end the week this week, the WWE brought us Saturday Nights Main Event on NBC. Now this SNME was a little boring if you ask me. I mean the only thing it did for me this week was further the search for CM Punks opponent for the PPV and further the on going war between Jeff Hardy and MVP. Stand out matches tonight for me were the 8 maan tag pitting Batista,Cryme Tyme and John Cena against Rhodes,Dibiase, and JBL as well as the mainevent tonight featuring Edge taking on Jeff Hardy which to me is a rivalry I would like to see continue. Those were the only standout matches for me tonight, but tonight was to help Jenny Macarthy's cause in Generation Rescue and I think SNME was a great platform for her to get her message out and if you haven't done so already I would like to urge you to please help her out with her cause.

Alright, so theres another WWE week that has came and gone and this has been my thoughts and views on the action this week. So once again I invite you to please leave me some comments on wether or not you feel the same way with the things I have had to say this week or if you feel totally different about it. Thanks for taking the time to read my blog, until next time WWE Universe.
