11/19/08 ECW Dirt Sheet: Extreme Survival

Wednesday, November 19, 2008, 06:33 PM EST [General]

Well, with Survivor Series being about 4 or 5 days away, things over in the land of extreme have become quite chaotic as of late. Here and Rob and I to explain.

"With Survivor Series being this Sunday, it has become quite clear that the Land of Extreme was going to give the WWE Universe a taste of what could happen this Sunday, as they were using the most devastating tatics in their arsenal.

"In an exciting 6-man main event, it was the World's Strongest Man Mark Henry, Cody Rhodes and the Intercontinental Champion William Regal taking on Kofi Kingston, Finlay and the ECW Champion Matt Hardy. What a match that was, let me tell you. Regal and Finlay were going at it, then Regal tags in Cody Rhodes, and he gets a few shots in on Finlay, then Rhodes tags in Mark Henry, and starts the beat down on Finlay. You may remember 2 weeks ago, Henry lost a number 1 contenders match to Finlay, when he cracked henry with his shillieagh. Henry continues his beat down on Finlay, then tags Regal back in, and he continues where Henry left off. Regal goes for the pin, but Matt Hardy makes the save, but pays for it when Regal nails Hardy with a forearm that sends him out of the ring. Rhodes was tagged in, and Finlay starts to fight back, then tags in Kingston, and he cleans house as he was going to work on Cody Rhodes. Kingston goes for the cover, but Regal makes the save, then all hell breaks loose. Then Mark Henry had himself tagged in, and nails Kingston with the World's Strongest Slam and gets the win for his team. Henry's team won last night, but at Survivor Series, it could be a whole 'nother story."
My thoughts: It just might be, Rob. I mean, With Batista leading Hardy, Finlay and Kingston, I think it could be a close showdown between Batista and Orton's team. Then again, anything can happen at the Survivor Series.

"John Morrison and The Miz were discussing their upcoming Survivor Series match as they are a part of team JBL. They broke down the attiributes and shortcomings for their teammates, and their opponents alike. But their strongest attacks were on Shawn Micheals overall. Miz and Morrison should............be ready.........for the best beating of their lives, should HBK get his hands on them This Sunday, after what happened this past Monday on Raw."
My thoughts: Yeah, I got a feeling that JBL may be the last thing HBK has on his mind after Miz and Morrison ran a full-on verbal attack on the Showstopper. I think HBK might singlehandedly take out Miz and Morrison first, then focus his rage on an unsuspecting JBL. Trust me, it could get that ugly this Sunday.

"Tommy Dreamer got his rematch against the All American American Jack Swagger, but this was an Amateur wrestling challenge, far different from what the pros do. Swagger outmatched Dreamer, but Dreamer answered back with a kick to the stomach, and a painful DDT. Dreamer was DQ'd after that, making Swagger the winner, and Dreamer says to Swagger, ''Oops, my bad, you win.'' Dreamer may have lost, but was pleased about what he had done. After the match was over, Swagger went to Teddy Long's office, but found Tiffany looking ever so hot in that leopard skin dress that she was wearing. After Swagger and Ricky Ortiz were having words, here comes Teddy Long, and Swagger tells Long he wanted a rematch, but this rematch will be Extreme Rules. As Tazz always says, if you don't believe in God, start. And Swagger better start believing in God come next week on ECW."
My thoughts: Oh, he better. Who is better at an Extreme Rules match than Tommy Dreamer? He practically invented it. Even though Dreamer has recently lost his fair share of Extreme Rules matches, I'm hopin' he can take advantage of this stipulation, and just pound Jack Swagga into next week.

"Then, as part of the new Superstar Initiative, DJ Gabriel made his ECW debut. along with Alicia Fox. Remember her? She used to be Vickie Guererro's wedding planner, until she hooked up with Edge. Her and Gabriel were on their way to the ring making a scene from Soul Train. I'm making a reference to the Soul Train line. Gabriel made an impressive debut against Sal Rinauro, nailing him with a devastating European Uppercut from the top rope, giving him the victory. I will say this, I was very impressed with his wrestling skills. As far as his dance moves, I'm going to score him like they do on Dancing with the Stars.

    Carrie Ann-3
    Len-2
    Bruno-1

That is how bad his dance moves are. I will though, agree with what Matt Striker said when he says that he is a cross between Ric Flair and Alex Wright. That is how good he is as far as his wrestling skills are concerned. Teddy Long, my hat's off to you for finding another winner in your superstar initiative."
My thoughts: I gotta say, Teddy Long's initiative is really being a winner here in ECW. Honestly, I think I was more impressed with Alicia's dancing than DJ's dancing. She definently has come a long way since being Vickie's "wedding planner" circa July. Also, big ups to you Rob, for bringin' up that Dancing with the Stars critique. I thought it was pretty impressive, to say the least.

That's pretty impressive, to say the least, huh? See of all youse later!:D

    11/18/08 RAW Dirt Sheet

Tuesday, November 18, 2008, 07:48 PM EST [General]

Hey, everybody! Well, let's get this WWE week started off right:

"It was only 6 days until Survivor Series, and a lot of questions needed to be answered. Raw opened up last night with a special Raw Superstar Forum. Stephanie McMahon was standing at her podium in front of the entire Raw and ECW roster. First, Randy Orton asked why John Cena gets a World Heavyweight Championship Match at Survivor Series and not him. McMahon went back to her brother, Shane, who made that decision. John Cena was a top contender when he was injured at Summerslam, so Cena got that title show instead of Orton. Santino Marella asked in hip-hop form, since hip-hop star Akon was in attendance why he should get a rematch against William Regal for the Intercontinental Championship. McMahon tells Marella he had 2 rematches while on tour in Europe, and did not get the job done. The forum ended with a fight breaking out as Shawn Micheals launched himself into John Bradshaw Layfield, both of whom are Survivor Series team captains. You know who HBK's main focus is this Sunday at Survivor Series."
My thoughts: Indeed I do. JBL, look out for the wrath of Shawn Micheals. You know, I loved that Stephanie had a question forum in the beginning, because you literally get to hear what's on their mind. And I thought Santino's rap was just plain hilarious. The way he also rocked the sideways cap just made me laugh till I damn near passed out. The looks on the faces of Candice Michelle, Kelly Kelly, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, CM Punk, Beth Phoenix and even Akon were just priceless after that. Oh, and here's Santino's rap just for giggles:
My name is Santino, and I'm from Europe
I like my pancakes with maple syrup
I lost my title to William Regal
His knee to the head should have been illegal
And now I'm all healthy, and it is vital
I want back my I:C title
    (makes record scratching noises) Yes

"In a preview of This Sunday's traditional Survivor Series elimination match with divas from RAW taking on divas from Smackdown, Kelly Kelly from Raw took Victoria from Smackdown. Even though Kelly won the match with her rapidly improving in-ring skills, Victoria attacked her after the match was over, but Kelly's fellow Raw divas came to her rescue, including WWE Women's Champion Beth Phoenix to help out against her Survivor Series opponent. This could make out to be the catfight of the century."
My thoughts: Well, if the 16-diva tag match at Raw's 800th episode wasn't interesting enough, it seems as though the annual Survivor Series Diva tag match may just be even crazier. With allies and enemies working on both teams, it should be crazy to see how this match his gonna end up.

"Then The Animal Batista went one on one against Manu. Manu was given a second chance to redeem himself against The Animal in this extremely competitive match, with both men weighing near 300 pounds. But it was the Batista Bomb being applied on Manu giving him the win, and after the match was over, his pal Cody Rhodes tried to get involved when he stepped on the ring apron, but he stepped back. Then Randy Orton came out, and The Animal tells the Legend Killer that he has been waiting 3 years for a chance to kick Randy Orton's ass, and will get a chance to do so this Sunday."
My thoughts: And I predict that Mr. Legend Killer was finally get what's coming to him after he and his buddies in "Evolution" have been getting to the Animal. Speaking of which, I don't think Rhodes and Manu are definently gonna want to get in the way of the two, not after what's been going down.

"Then the former WWE Tag Team Champions, John Morrison and The Miz took on Rey Mysterio and the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Micheals. Toward the end of the match, it looked as if the Master of the 619 and The Heartbreak Kid were going to win the match when The Miz was nailed by the 619 from Mysterio, and was nailed with some Sweet Chin Music from HBK. But Morrison nailed HBK with some Sweet Chin Music of his own, then attacks Mysterio, sending the 2 out of the ring, and giving The Miz and Morrison the win which I consider to be a steal."
My thoughts: Damn right it was, buddy. It seems as though Miz and Morrison seem to find another way to win, cheating or not. I wonder how much this is gonna boost the Dirt Sheet Duo's egos coming into not only tonight on ECW, but Survivor Series as well. By the way, did you happen to catch a glimpse of HBK being nervous to team up with Mysterio before the match? It just proves once again that Shawn Michaels is quite a ham no matter who he's with. Oh, and we got another "long-overdue" visit from none other than..... Dolph Ziggler! LOL Man, it's been a while since we've seen him, but I wonder if he's gonna wrestle one of these days.

"In another match that is a preview of this Sunday, Cryme Tyme took on JBL and Kane. JBL gained the psychological advantage, when he nailed JTG with the Clothesline from Hell giving he and Kane the win."
My thoughts: Well, who knew the team of JBL and the Big Red Monster could nearly work well together. But I think Kane's still a little leery about teaming up with JBL after the way JBL stole the match from him..

"Evan Bourne paid the WWE Universe a visit, letting everybody know that he is recovering just fine, and should be back in time for the Royal Rumble. But as he and Kofi Kingston were in the back talking, Kingston was attacked by Mike Knox, and Knox took a crutch and whacked Bourne on his already injured leg. Knox is one black-hearted son of a ****. Case in point: on an early episode of ECW of Sci-Fi before they went hi-def, Mike Knox went to beg Kelly Kelly for forgiveness for walking out on her at December To Dismember. Kelly forgave him, and all of a sudden Knox threw a whole thing of flowers in her face, then nailing her a hard-hitting neckbreaker/STO. Remember that."
My thoughts: Oh, I definently remember that. That damn meathead just went ahead and ruined Evan Bourne's visit, by possibly ending his recovery, and maybe pushing his return back to maybe April-May 2008. I hope you're happy, Knox!

"Then the new Intercontinental Champion, William Regal went up against ECW Champion Matt Hardy in a non-title match that was to be a preview of this Sunday's Survivor Series match. Both champions fought hard, but ended up outside the ring which resulted in both men getting counted out. After the match was over, both men continued to brawl. Their match at Survivor Series is going to be a great big brawl before it is all over."
My thoughts: It definently may be. And with all those egos out there, who knows what kind of madness is going to happen. I just hope it doesn't get too ugly, but that's just me.

"Then in the main event, Randy Orton went up against CM Punk in a 30 man Lumberjack match. Though Punk had just recently recovered from an Orton attack at Unforgiven. Orton dashed Punk's hopes for revenge, thanks to a little distraction from William Regal. After the match was over, Orton was setting to nail Punk with his kick to the temple that put Punk on the shelf, but was cut off by The Animal Batista. Then all of a sudden it turned into a Battle Royal, as all 30 WWE Superstars entered the ring as Raw ended."
My thoughts: Now THAT is the way to end an episode of RAW before Survivor Series. That Lumberjack match was match of the night by far, and it was everything I expected it to be, chaotic, crazy and damn near combustible. After seeing that wild brawl, I'm sure we can expect the same thing tonight on ECW, and this Friday on Smackdown.

Hope you all liked the Dirt Sheet this time, and I'll be back tomorrow for more!:D

11/15/08 Smackdown Dirt Sheet: The Extreme Dark Knight

Saturday, November 15, 2008, 05:39 PM EST [General]

Yes, the title is true: "Extreme Dark Knight". Who are me and Rob talking about? Here is the answer:

"With Survivor Series just 8 days away, Jeff Hardy was still on a rampage, causing major disruption among several superstars. At the start of last night's Smackdown, The Undertaker emerged from the casket that was laying in the middle of the ring. After he was done addressing The Big Show in regards to the Casket match that he and The Big Show are going to have at Survivor Series, Jeff Hardy came on the titantron, in what looked to me like something from the movie, The Dark Knight. This new look of Hardy's goes with his reckless insanity. Before his Extreme Rules match against The Undertaker, he interrupted a contract signing between Vladamir Kozlov and the WWE Champion, Triple H, when he attacked Kozlov, sending him through the table and tearing the contract right in The Game's face. Then he had his Extreme Rules match against The Undertaker. As the 2 were seemingly to be reaching the climax in their brutal match, The Big Show charged to the ring, and Chokeslammed The Undertaker, and caught Hardy while he was in mid-air, before The Undertaker nailed The Big Show from behind with a chair. But while The Deadman's attention was on The Big Show, Jeff Hardy used the same chair and attacked The Undertaker from behind, and it paved the way for him to hurl himself off the top turnbuckle over the top of a ladder and nailing The Undertaker with a hard-hitting Leg Drop, and getting the win over The Deadman. Next week, Jeff Hardy will once again face Triple H, and if Hardy wins, the WWE Championship match will be a Triple Threat. And with the way that Jeff Hardy has been lately, I would just stay out of the way, and let him do what he has to do."
My thoughts: Man, Jeff's really taking his evil turn to extremes, literally. I definently think he was channeling his inner Heath Ledger in that Joker getup. That is one man I don't want to mess with, especially after the roll he's on lately. The match between The Game and the Extreme Dark Knight is gonna be quite a show-stealer, and I'm kinda torn as to who's gonna win, but it should be quite a match.

"Jeff's Brother, the ECW Champion Matt Hardy, coming off a successful title defense this past Tuesday Night against Finlay, took on the United Staes Champion Shelton Benjamin. This was an intense, hard-fought match between these 2, but it was the Twist Of Fate from out of nowhere onto the Gold Standard, giving Matt Hardy the victory. All I can say for Matt Hardy is, impressive as always."
My thoughts: What a week that Matt's had, huh? Two incredibly hard-fought matches with a title defense, and a win against the United States Champion definently makes for one hell of a week. Now if he can get Jeff under a little control.

"Then, one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, Carlito took on The Brian Kendrick. Carlito had the match in his favor until he was distracted by the attack of his brother Primo by Kendrick's bodyguard, Ezekial Jackson allowing Kendrick to nail Carlito with The Kendrick and score the pinfall. There is no stopping The Brian Kendrick as long as Ezekial Jackson is around."
My thoughts: Well, I guess with former partner Paul London no longer in the WWE, Kendrick is now more fully focused than ever, and I expect more bigger things from him in the future, or maybe if WWE can bring back the Cruiserweight title, Kendrick would be a top contender.

"Then MVP, who so desperately wants his incentive, was up against Kung Fu Naki. And thanks to the interference of The Great Khali, causing the former United States Champion to be distracted, allowing Funaki to nail MVP with a Chain Kick, giving him the win, and after he was knocked out by the Punjabi Playboy, it was time once again for the Khali Kiss Cam, but with a twist. After MVP was nailed for a second time with a 2 handed chokeslam, Khali allowed this British Bulldog, and oh, was she a Bulldog-- to be kissed by MVP. I'm sure that Khali would love to take her out to a nice ALPO dinner."
My thoughts: Why the heck does Khali want to kiss women who don't look like the Divas or somewhat? Anywho, I'm glad MVP got into the action this time instead of Khali. MVP and Khali are definently at odds, and I bet at Survivor Series in that team match, we may see some more fireworks. Congrats go out to Kung Fu Naki as well for takin' out MVP again, and as for MVP's team, they're in trouble, because with MVP's losing streak, they don't have a ghost of a chance to win.

"Then in a match for the WWE Divas Championship, my girl Michelle McCool defended the Divas Championship against Maria. Maria had the match in her favor until Jesse and Festus came to ringside to watch this match up close.McCool successfully retained her title when she utilized a painful submission hold. But when the bell rang, Festus morphed into his fightin' side and charged into the ring going after McCool, realizing that Maria had been hurt. But McCool quickly ran to safety. After McCool went back to the dressing room, Festus gave Maria a toy teddy bear. I'm sure that the engagment ring that he buys her would come out of a 25-cent machine."
My thoughts: Oh, that Festus. Once again the soft spot in his heart takes over, but this time he almost hurt Michelle McCool in the process. Thank goodness that didn't happen. First a flower, than a Mariachi band, and now a toy bear? What will he think of next?

That's it for Smackdown's Dirt Sheet, but I'll see you tomorrow, and a little early too for my Top 50 countdown!:D

11/12/08 ECW Dirt Sheet: No luck of the Irish

Wednesday, November 12, 2008, 07:16 PM EST [General]

Here's my second blog, the ECW Dirt sheet from the U.K!

"All irish eyes were on the prize last night in England, the prize being the ECW Championship, as Finlay challenged Matt Hardy for that championship. Last week, Finlay warned the man who will not die that he will be in for the fight of his life. No doubt about it, this was one of the biggest matches of his career. Finlay had Hardy at his mercy,.but Hardy began to fight back when he nailed Finlay with a Side Effect, then goes for the pin, and gets only a 2 Count. Hardy goes for a second Side Effect, and again gets a 2 count. As the match was progessing along, there was exhaustion in both men's faces. It was non-stop all the way. Finlay came close so many times to becoming the new ECW Champion, but in the end, it was Hardy nailing the Twist of Fate from out of nowhere to get the win, and retain the ECW Championship. This was an epic battle if there ever was one. My hat goes off to both men."
My thoughts: My hat goes off to both men as well, for perhaps ECW's most exciting match of 2008 by far. I tell you, WWE in the UK this week has brought us some epic matches, such as the Last Man Standing match last Monday between Shawn Micheals and Chris Jericho. I wonder if this Friday night on Smackdown, we'll see another match of the year contender.

"I'm sure that Mark Henry was in the locker room paying close attention to this match. Henry was still angry over not winning the number 1 contender spot last week. Henry proved once again that he is a force to be reckoned with in the ECW brand, as he made quick work of local competitor Oliver Biney. After the match was over, Todd Grisham asked Henry who he wanted to win the ECW Championship match. Henry's response was a lot of heavy breathing, and Henry shaking his head and walking away."
My thoughts:  Man, I don't know what Todd Grisham was thinking trying to ask Mark Henry about who would win the ECW title match, but I'm glad he didn't get pummeled by Henry. I tell you, with Matt Hardy still ECW champion, Matt still remains a target for Mark Henry, and I have the feeling that we will see Henry and Hardy once again go at it in perhaps another classic showdown. Otherwise, we may see The World's Strongest Man singlehandedly try to destroy ECW.

"Then in a 6 man Tag match, The All American American Jack Swagger teamed up with The Miz and John Morrison to take on Tommy Dreamer and Cryme Tyme. This match has got payback all over it, as Dreamer was looking for payback from Swagger when he was insulting Dreamer and his family last week. Cryme Tyme I'm sure, wanted to get revenge over The Miz and Morriosn for their loss at Cyber Sunday. There was a lot of great teamwork between Swagger and The Miz and Morrison, but when JTG tagged in Dreamer, he cleans house until Swagger came in from behind, and attacks Dreamer, sending him out of the ring.  Then he nails Shad with his Gutwrench Power Bomb, but Dreamer comes in and nails Swagger with a DDT.  But it was John Morrison who nails Dreamer with the Moonlight Drive, and scores the pinfall for his team.  I've got to admit, it was a very impressive victory for Jack Swagger,The Miz and John Morrison.  During that match, I also detected a meaner streak in the Miz and John Morrison. This was probably brought out last Monday on Raw, when they faced DX."
My thoughts: I detected that too. I tell you, Miz and Morrison have really picked up their game since losing to DX last Monday, and I bet you they have a renewed vigor to prove that they are the number one team in the WWE today.

Well, I'll see you all later with another of my fun blogs!:D
