    11/20/09 WWE Superstars Dirt Sheet

Friday, November 20, 2009, 07:18 PM EST [General]

"Last night, some of the upcoming talent in the WWE was in action last night as we get closer to this Sunday's Survivor Series.

"In their third match, Zack Ryder wanted to once again prove that he is better than the Gold Standard, Shelton Benjamin. And yes, Rosa Mendes was in Ryder's corner. Now, I was taking a little bit of heat when I was saying in my ECW blog about Rosa as she was going on about certain things. I just want you all to understand that some things I may say are usually based on crowd reaction, and I have no intention of upsetting anybody and I apologize for doing so."
Quick note: That's OK, Rob. I got no heat with you on the whole Rosa Mendes thing. She indeed is a hottie, no matter what she says.

"Back to the match, in which I really thought that it was going to be 3 losses in a row for Ryder with the way that this match was going.

"Ryder started to make a comeback which brought a smile to Rosa's face, but the Gold Standard countered and sent Ryder into the corner and followed up with a splash which hurt him just a little.

"Both men had the same move in mind at one point as they both collided. When Rosa's cell phone rang  and she got Ryder's attention, I was like, well, that's number 3 against the Gold Standard. Losses, that is. Mendes gets in the ring and that is, where if I was the referee, would have called for the bell, but instead, this referee last night told her to get out of the ring. Ryder attends to Rosa, and the Gold Standard  went after Ryder, but missed and almost hit Rosa.

"This distraction allowed Ryder to put away the Gold Standard for the 3 count.

"Vickie Guerrero sure has a 'winner'. At least last night she did with her boytoy, Eric Escobar with the way that he ran roughshod over Jimmy Wang Yang. Although, I was reading over on NoDQ.com that Escobar as of late has been sent back to Florida Championship Wrestling, which is a sign that the WWE has already given up on him.

"In my opinion, they've should have started him over on ECW instead of Smackdown. Pushing him the way that they were doing was way too early. ECW would have been the perfect place for him to start his WWE career.

"After watching this match a second time on WWE.com, I can see why that the WWE has lost faith in this guy. I'm hoping that his time back in FCW will help him improve his skills. If not, then Vickie Guerrero needs a new role.

"From Raw, the main event was the World's Strongest Man, Mark Henry taking on Cody Rhodes at Madison Square Garden.

'This match was the result of last week when Cody Rhodes tried to get involved in the MVP/Ted Dibiase match. Rhodes weighs in at 223 and Henry weighs in at 418, so you wonder how this match was going to go.

"This Legacy member was on his way to victory doing whatever that he could against a man the size of Henry. I myself would look for ways to make him tired. But it wasn't enough as Cody Rhodes fell victim to the World's Strongest Slam, and Mark Henry is the winner of the match.

"This win over Cody Rhodes does give Team Kingston a lot of momentum going into this Sunday's Survivor Series PPV against Team Orton in the traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag match."

That's it for this review, but I'll be back with tomorrow's Smackdown Dirt Sheet!

    11/18/09 ECW Dirt Sheet

Wednesday, November 18, 2009, 06:33 PM EST [General]

"I know that a lot of people, including myself is so looking forward to Survivor Series this Sunday and that is probably the reason why that last night's main event was a Survivor Series preview Tag Team match with 2 of Smackdown's superstars, R-Truth, who was teaming up with Christian, and CM Punk, who was teaming up William Regal, who at the start of last night's ECW told the WWE Universe that his appearance last night on ECW would give him a deafening standing ovation--

    I DON'T THINK SOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

"Punk got the same type of ovation that he always gets. I mean come on! Yeah, it was the first time in over a year that CM Punk has been on ECW, but give me a break! You honestly think that the WWE Universe is going to look at him any different, really??!!!

"And what could have been going through William Regal's mind ever since last week when he failed in his last attempt to win the ECW Championship? Now he is going to have to work his way back up to become the number 1 contender.

I was looking at this match as not only a Survivor Series preview, but a chance for some WWE Superstars to get some payback. In R-Truth's case, Truth's loss last Friday night on Smackdown when Punk stole it from him, and we all know what Regal was looking for revenge on.

"Anyway, what a pier 6 brawl this was becoming with Punk and Regal working very well together. Punk went for a legdrop on Truth but Misses. Punk then tags in Regal and he goes to work on R-Truth. Truth was starting to fight back with an insurgery[I hope that is the right spelling of that]. Christian and Punk were tagged into the match and Christian goes right after Punk, then Christain was showing a blurry of offense on Punk.

"Punk then gets nailed with a Tornado DDT, but only gets a 2 count. Christian then goes over and knocks Regal off the ring apron, then nailed Punk with a flying elbow.

"Christian went for the Killswitch, but Punk countered and nails him with a high knee. Punk was down, then Regal stopped the 3 count from happening, and then all of a sudden, all hell breaks loose. But in the end as Christian once again went for the Killswitch on Punk, Regal interjects and gives Christian a Knee Trembler which allowed Punk to nail Christian with the GTS to get the win.

"It was Mask vs. Career as the Ripper, Paul Burchill who had just about had all that he could stand of the Hurricane, faced off against him one last time. Now, if Burchill lost, then he is done with ECW, but if the Hurricane lost then, he must unmask. I'll admit, it was a good hard fought match between these two in which the Hurricane won, but I have this to say.

I'm sure that you all remember the draft from this past April in which Gregory Helms was drafted to ECW, where he was a backstage interviewer and the Hurricane made some quick appearances.

"We all knew that it was The Hurricane that was going to win, and that there was no way that Burchill was going to win the match last night. Burchill couldn't make much of a name for himself when he was on Raw, and his wrestling skills proved why he couldn't do so on Smackdown, and his wrestling skills didn't get any better when he was on ECW, and I doubt seriously that Paul Burchill is going to be back on Smackdown, therefore, I truly believe that last night was the last that we have seen of the Ripper, Paul Burchill and with that in mind, I have this to say.

HEY PAUL................................ NA NA NA NA........NA NA NA NA.......hey hey hey..................GOOD BYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOOD BYE PAUL BURCHILL AND PLEASE DON'T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU IN THE ASS ON THE WAY OUT!!!!!

Quick note: Though I think this may be the last of Paul Burchill in ECW, honestly, I hope this isn't the last we've seen of Katie Lea. If she returns to RAW, I think she could possibly make an impact on the already growing diva roster on RAW, or she could be on Smackdown and vie for the Women's Championship, in which she could possibly have a feud with either the Glamazon or Natalya. Who knows?

"Vance Archer continues to impress me with his aggressiveness in the ring, as he made quick work of his opponent, Jason Andrews last night. I can't wait to see him in some stiffer competition.

"One more thing, I want to say to Rosa Mendes,  yes, I think that you are a smokin' hot woman, but let's be real here, nobody cares about any pair of sexy shoes that you bought at the mall and  everything. The only thing that you need to be concerned about is making sure that Zack Ryder wins his match tomorrow night against Shelton Benjamin."

Thanks, Rob. Again, I want to stress this: this is all Rob's opinion on WWE Divas, not mine, but believe you me, I don't wanna hate on a brother or nothin'.

11/14/09 Smackdown Dirt Sheet: Destruction Before Survival?

Saturday, November 14, 2009, 03:36 PM EST [General]

"Earlier this week, my friend Jake was saying that the WWE was red hot so far this past week while being over in Jolly Old England. You know something, he was so right on the money, and last night On Friday Night Smackdown showed why it was."
Quick note: Thanks, Rob! WWE has been quite a force these past few days in England for sure.

"CM Punk was being such a crybaby about his loss last week to R-Truth, that he had to complain to the Board Of Directors that he didn't want Scott Armstrong to be the referee in his rematch last night.

"Armstrong made a fast count last week, showing Punk that he is not the boss of him at all. OMG, was my ears bleeding when Punk was going on and on about how he is the choice of a new generation when in truth, he is the choice of a new method of indigestion. Hey Punk, spare me with your bull ****! Okay, you probably have had a wild side in your younger days as well.

"At the start of the match, Punk tried putting R-Truth away with the GTS but Truth countered. You see, Truth was going to hurt Punk, but what Truth said to Punk really didn't matter to him at all, because Punk realized that Scott Armstrong was not the referee and that is why Punk, after attempting another GTS  in which Truth once again countered and dropped down upon him, grabbed the ropes to get the 3 count without the referee seeing it at all.

"That's what you call a Straightedge lifestyle, huh Punk?

    WHATEVER!!

"2 weeks ago on Smackdown, Drew McIntyre was supposed to have a match against Finlay, but it was declared a no-contest when Finlay was attacked. Last night they had their match, which gave Finlay a chance for revenge. You see, ever since Vince McMahon said that McIntyre was going to be a future World Champion in the WWE, and McIntyre has let that go to his head.

"This match last night turned into a heated brawl, and I had a feeling that it was going to. This resulted in both men getting disqualified, but after the match was over, it wasn't done at all. Finlay went and got his trusty shillieagh and was going to nail McIntyre with it, but McIntyre countered that attempt with an effective kick and grabbed the shillieagh and nailed Finlay with it instead.

"Once again, Dolph Ziggler had another chance to win the Intercontinental Championship from John Morrison. Last night, Morrison told Josh Matthews that he can handle the pressure. What a great match this was until they were on the top rope fighting each other until they both fell onto the arena floor, ending this match as a double count out. That right there botched things up for me.

"Next week there is going to be a rematch with 2 out of 3 falls, and let me say that what the WWE couldn't do in this match. They are so going to make up for in next week's match.

"Maybe Ziggler will win the Intercontinental Championship next week. We will have to wait and see how this plays out.

"I really don't know exactly what Michelle McCool and Layla's beef is with Mickie James ever since she traded to Smackdown from Raw. Last night, James had a match last night against Natalya which is rare, if you normally watch Smackdown or WWE Superstars for that matter.

"McCool and Layla was willing to make Mickie's time on Smackdown a very brief one. James' match against Natalya was going in her favor until McCool and Layla came down to the ring with Mickie's ring attire and proceeded to cut them into shreds. This distraction allowed Natalya to apply the Sharpshooter on James causing her to tap out.

"The Glamazon saw action against a local competitor from England. I'll be perfectly honest with you, I'm glad that they are doing this to her. It is playing a great big part in the refocusing of her career. It showed with the way she made quick work of her opponent last night.

"For the first time, it was Chris Jericho taking on the World Heavyweight Champion, The Undertaker.

"For Jericho this match was 10 years in the making, and for the WWE Universe this match was not only a preview of the Triple Threat Match at Survivor Series, but a preview of this Monday night's history making Triple Threat Tag Team match as well.

"Jericho wanted to prove to The Undertaker that he is just a man and not a Deadman. That name is what the WWE Universe calls him and that is something that Chris Jericho is too stupid to understand.

"This match alone stole the show for me last night, and what a brutal battle between 2 of WWE's future Hall of Famers that ended with Jericho tapping out to Hell's Gate. After the match was over, Jericho's Tag Team partner The Big Show came out and tried doing to him what they did to John Cena a week ago on Raw.

"This drew the wrath of The Undertaker's brother, Kane as he came to The Undertaker's rescue.

"Vince McMahon announced next week on Friday Night Smackdown that it will be Chris Jericho and the Big Show taking on the Brothers Of Destruction, and Teddy Long is still on probation?!

"Last night was the official contract signing of the Rey Mysterio/Batista match at Survivor Series. I don't like the fact that Batista made Mysterio sign a contract making the Animal not responsible for his actions at Survivor Series. I did like Rey Mysterio turning the tables on the Animal, literally."

What a way to end the WWE's tour of Europe! Next week, WWE is gonna have quite a time at MSG in New York, and good ol' Philly as well. Peace out, everyone!:D

Friday the 13th November 2009 Superstars Dirt Sheet

Friday, November 13, 2009, 07:05 PM EST [General]

'What a week it has been in the WWE so far with all the shows overseas in Jolly Old England, and there was more to come last night on WWE Superstars.

"Superstars started off last night with a great match from Smackdown as Matt Hardy, whom I was very happy to see back in action after that vicious assault that he suffered at the hands of the Animal Batista, go one on one with the brutally vicious part of the Hart Dynasty, David Hart Smith.

"In singles action or in Tag Team action, Smith continues to impress me with the way that he handles himself in the ring. And I truly believe that being trained in the late Stu Hart's dungeon puts a vicious mean streak inside of a man, and that's what it has done to not only Smith, but his Tag Team partner,Tyson Kidd as well. But do not underestimate Matt Hardy and his never say die attitude at all, because that right there is his true motivation and that is exactly what kept him fighting.

"Smith's partner, Kidd was getting very frustrated however, after seeing that his partner had so many near falls in the match which caused him to get involved, in which he got nailed by Matt Hardy.

"The referee Charles Robinson saw what was going on and sent both he and Natalya back to the dressing room. Just as they were going back, Hardy rolls up Smith and scores the pinfall, making him the winner of the match.

"10 days ago on ECW, Zack Ryder became very smitten with Rosa Mendes before his match against the Gold Standard Shelton Benjamin. I tell ya something folks, I'm just glad he didn't do to her what George 'The Animal' Steele did on Saturday Night's Main Event back in January of 1986 when saw the late first lady of the WWE, Elizabeth for the first time and started rubbing his head all over her.

"Last night on Superstars, Ryder and Benjamin had their rematch with Ryder having Mendes in his corner, and hoping to avenge his loss.

"What a great back and forth match this was, no doubt about it. Benjamin was going for a powerbomb, but Ryder countered as he grabbed the ropes, sending both men outside the ring. Rosa was a little worried, so she walked over to see if Ryder was OK.

"That was right after the Gold Standard and Ryder were trying to get back in the ring and the Gold Standard sent Ryder into the ringside wall.

"Ryder once again, just like he did 10 days ago on ECW, got distracted by Rosa which caused Ryder to lose the match by a count out,

    MESSAGE FOR ZACK RYDER:

"I hope that you can find some footage of when George 'The Animal' Steele was in love with Elizabeth and look at that very carefully so you don't make the same mistakes. I hope that if this is a new alliance between the 2 of you, please don't let it be similar to what Dolph Ziggler and Maria went through over on Smackdown.

"From Raw, the main event was Ted Dibiase of Legacy vs MVP.

"Prior to their match, just like he did with Kofi Kingston this past Monday night on Raw, Dibiase called MVP a street thug.

"For the most part of this match, things were not looking good for the former United States Champion as his left arm was injured by Dibiase. As he was focusing on it, things turned in MVP's favor when Dibiase's partner Cody Rhodes tried to distract him, but it backfired when MVP's partner Mark Henry put a stop to it.

"After that, MVP nailed Dibiase with the Playmaker to get the win."

Awesome night on Superstars! Can't wait for Smackdown tonight with Y2J vs. the Deadman! See you all tomorrow night!
