    10/7/09 ECW Dirt Sheet

Wednesday, October 7, 2009, 06:47 PM EST [General]

"I can't tell you how happy I was to see Tiffany back in action last night as the General Manager of ECW. I mean, there was no way that the board of directors were going to allow William Regal to continue being a farce of a general manager the way he was with Raw.

"At the start of last night's ECW, new ring announcer Lauren Mayhew introduced Regal, still as the interim General Manager. Then he began talking about how he was going to make himself the number 1 contender for the ECW Championship, but a very unhappy Zack Ryder came out and told Regal that the whole WWE Universe was not going to go through with this again. As Ryder and Regal were having an exchange of words, here comes the ECW Champion to save the day. He was referring to the Ryder/Regal feud as compelling TV, but I knew exactly what he was thinking, it damn sure as hell wasn't.

"He brought out 3 people whom he felt is worthy of being the number 1 contender. 1st, the janitor from the arena that has been cleaning the toilets at the arena, WWE Hall of Famer, Tony Atlas, co-host of the Abraham Washington show, and how about Yoshi Tatsu, whom as we all know has been making quite an impact on ECW.

"Christian also reminded Regal that it was not up to him or Christian himself for that matter, who the number 1 contender is. Tiffany did come back after being injured during her match against Mia Mancini on FCW, that is how she really got hurt-- no car accident.

"1st, she granted Zack Ryder his rematch with Christian that was supposed to take place last week.

"She put Regal in action against Yoshi Tatsu, and not only that, she put Ezekial Jackson and Vladimir Kozlov in Tag Team action.

"So what Tiffany really did was put last week's 8 Man Tag in 3 different matches. First, Jackson and Kozlov took on Tommy Dreamer and Goldust.

"I'll be perfectly honest with you, it was about time that we got to see Jackson and Kozlov in real competition, and not against a couple of jobbers.

"The experience of both Dreamer and Goldust is what really helped them put up a great fight against the power, the size and the awesome strength that both Jackson and Kozlov possesses in the ring, and that is what played a key factor in the Ruthless Roundtable's victory over Dreamer and Goldust last night.

"Then Regal had his match against Yoshi Tatsu last night. Let me say that based on the crowd's reaction the whole WWE Universe could care less about Regal and to be honest with you, so could I, but when the crowd started to come alive was when Tatsu turned things around in his favor. Tatsu went for a Ricky Steamboat like high cross body and misses, then Tatsu nailed Regal with his hard-hitting Karate kick to the temple and gets the win. However, the referee didn't see Regal's foot underneath the ropes, and as we all know, the referee's decision is final.

'Regal and his Ruthless Roundtable were at ringside to watch Christian take on Zack Ryder.

"I'm going to be perfectly honest with you and say that that match alone made up for what Regal was doing in the last match, but unfortunately for both Christian and Ryder, it didn't end the way that either one wanted them to end.

"As Christian was tossed outside the ring, he was attacked by Kozlov and Jackson, making Christian the winner by disqualification.

"As Christian was left laying in the ring, a very angry Ryder confronted Regal for costing him his match against Christian, and he was attacked for his troubles.

"So the only bad match from last night's ECW was involving William Regal. Need I say more?"

Indeed not, buddy. Also, I just heard the news with Rowdy Roddy Piper's terminal cancer. I along with every member of the WWE Universe wish Piper the best of luck in his recovery. Have a turnbuckle tomorrow, everyone!:D

    10/5/09 WWE Raw Dirt Sheet

Tuesday, October 6, 2009, 07:35 PM EST [General]

"Ladies and gentlemen of the WWE Universe, I think you can agree with me when I say that what WWE lacked last week on Raw and what the WWE lacked this past Sunday at Hell In a Cell, they made up for last night on Raw with Ben Rothlisberger from the Pittsburgh Steelers as the guest host last night.

"And what a way to start Monday Night Raw with the first ever Diva Bowl. That had the crowd going crazy.

    IN PITTSBURGH STEELERS UNIFORMS:

    Mickie James
    Kelly Kelly
    The Bella Twins
    Melina
    Eve

    IN PHILADELPHIA EAGLES UNIFORMS

    Michelle McCool
    Beth Phoenix
    Rosa Mendes
    Alicia Fox
    Jillian Hall
    Layla
    Natalya

"Gail Kim was the acting referee, and what a match that it was. Just about everything and anything that could happen, did happen in this match. And what a way to return the favor to millions of WWE fans who happen to be football fans as well, and after coming off a huge win over Alicia Fox, it was James across the goal line, getting a win for her team as she scored the pinfall over her leggy rival, Alicia Fox."
Quick note: Did you also see the catfight between all the divas afterwards? Poor Santino Marella picked a bad time to be a referee-- LOL

"Rothlisberger came back out for a second time and just when he was ready to talk, he was interrupted by the Big Show and Chris Jericho. Rothlisberger had a feeling that something like that was going to happen, so he had some backup of his own in the form of some of his teammates from the Steelers.

"Then shortly thereafter, here comes Degeneration X coming of a costly win over the Legacy at Hell In a Cell. Shawn Micheals on DX's behalf, issued a challenge to Jerishow for a match, but they refused. Rothlisberger, however made the match official.

"In the early stages of the match, it was in favor of the Big Show and Jericho, but when things turned in favor of DX, and after the Big Show was clotheslined over the ringside wall, and Jericho was in the ring all alone, Jericho tried to escape, but was cut off by Rothlisberger and the offensive line from the Steelers, and DX came from behind and took Jericho back to the ring and Shawn Micheals gave Jericho some Sweet Chin Music. Jericho and Big Show came up short against Degeneration X.

"Great match to end Raw last night, great, great match!!!!"
Quick note: Oh, and let's not forget Rothlisberger, the Steelers' o-line and DX doin' the DX chop together twice! Classic, classic moment right there.

"Earlier in the night, Rothlisberger was confronted by the Miz, asking for a United States Championship match against Kofi Kingston. Now you know how the Miz always says that he is awesome? Well, Rothelisberger added one stipulation, and that was if the Miz lost, he had to say in front of the WWE Universe, 'I'm the Miz, and I'm awful.'  Well, you can't really say that about his wrestling skills at all.

"I'm wondering if the Miz was watching the triple threat from Hell In a Cell, because he had to have a whole new gameplan going into this match.

"Kingston went for the cover on The Miz and only got a 2 count when the Miz grabbed the ropes. Kingston tried bringing the Miz back in the ring and was clotheslined by the Miz. The Miz went for a high knee and Kingston countered and went for a backslide and only got a 2 count. The match continued to go back and forth, then Kingston went for a high cross body, but The Miz rolled over and got yet another nearfall. Then Kingston gives the Miz the S.O.S and got yet another nearfall.

"HOW MANY NEARFALLS CAN ONE MAN GET, I ASK YOU??

"In the end, it was the Miz giving Kingston the Skull-Crushing Finale and it was the finale of his United States Championship reign as the Miz is the new United States Champion.

"But let's be real here, Kofi Kingston was a great United States Champion. He fits right up there with past United States Champions such as Magnum T.A., Tully Blanchard, Nikita Koloff, Ric Flair and many others. Kingston brought a great deal of honor to that Championship, something that the Miz needs to do.

"Last week on Raw, Chavo Guerrero and Chris Masters had to have had some miscommunication. Last night, Chavo claimed that they had something together as they took on Mark Henry and MVP.

"MVP set up Chavo for the Ballin' Elbow, and went for the cover, But Masters tried to make the save and missed and nailed Chavo.[OOPS!!]

"Mark Henry, who hurt his knee during the match went after Masters as MVP went for the cover on Chavo and got the win It was quite obvious that MVP and Henry had their stuff together. Great teamwork was being displayed with a lot of tags. They have proven to me that they are worthy of being the Unified WWE Tag Team Champions.

"But that wasn't the case for Chris Masters and Chavo Guerrero, as their disagreement led to Masters attacking Chavo, and would you believe that he was saved by Hornswoggle. But as he was leaving, I guess you can say that the little guy had 2 words for Chavo, and I don't have to tell you what they are.

"Jack Swagger, I'm sure was unhappy about what happened this past Sunday at Hell In a Cell when he lost his chance of winning the United States Championship, so last night, he took his frustrations out on Primo last night, making quick work of him, and after the match was over, Swagger said that he wasn't pinned and you know something, he really wasn't pinned at all.

"He also claimed that for the rest of 2009, he is going to remain undefeated. We will see as the rest of the year plays out.

"Randy Orton who once again became the WWE Champion this past Sunday made this clear to John Cena-- at the upcoming Bragging Rights PPV, the 2 are going to have a 60-minute Iron Man match with no count outs and no DQ's, and anything goes. If Cena wins, which he won't, because from what I understand, he is going to be taking time off to make another movie, then he is the WWE Champion.

"If Orton wins, then Cena is gone from Raw for good, and I think that a lot of people would be very happy to see that rivalry come to an end."

Well, what a RAW that was! WWE more than made up for the lack of energy, almost. Have a great night, everyone!:D

WWE Hell in a Cell 2009 Dirt Sheet

Monday, October 5, 2009, 06:33 PM EST [General]

"Well, it was another new PPV for the WWE, and let me say, that by the way that some of these matches went, the WWE creative team needs to at this point in time, get their moral level a great big boost or maybe perhaps a great big makeover. I'll tell you about it as I'm recapping.

    "Here's a look at last night's action.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    World Heavyweight Championship Match:

    CM Punk
    -----vs---
    The Undertaker

"It was the first match out of the gate, and for the Undertaker, it was a chance at some revenge after the screwjob that took place at Breaking Point. Yes, everybody in Newark, N.J was glued on the edge of their seats since the match got started, and both men were battling it out until the point of exhaustion. Then all of a sudden, the Undertaker nails Punk with a Tombstone and once again becomes the new World Heavyweight Champion for a 7th time.

"Now here is the real story behind this. There was a recent tour overseas that the WWE had, and CM Punk did something that made WWE Management and probably Vince McMahon, very unhappy, and that's why their match was first and Punk having to drop the title. But I don't think that the Undertaker's title reign is going to last very long because of his injured hip. I'm sure that he will drop it soon for him to go into surgery.

"I wouldn't be surprised to see the Undertaker retire after Wrestlemania 26.
    --------------------------------------------------------------

    Intercontinental Championship Match:

    John Morrison
    ----vs----------
    Dolph Ziggler

"One of the top 3 favorite matches according to WRESTLING-RADIO.com, and for a very good reason.

"Both Morrison and Ziggler have impressed me as well as a lot of people in the WWE Universe with their in-ring skills, even by WWE standards. I've got a great feeling that the WWE Behind The Scenes people are looking at these 2 very, very closely. I'm sure that we are going to see John Morrison main event a Wrestlemania somewhere down the line, and Ziggler is well on his way to doing so as well.

"But after holding a victory over Mike Knox and Finlay to become the number 1 contender, Ziggler came close on several occasions to becoming the new Intercontinental Champion. In the end though, Morrison came back and put away Mr. Ziggles with his Starship Pain to get the win and retain his Intercontinental Championship.

"It is guys like John Morrison and Dolph Ziggler that is the future of the WWE, and they will keep them going for years to come, I've got a feeling. They have been doing a stellar job with pushing these guys.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    WWE DIVAS CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH:

    Mickie James
    -----vs-----
    Alicia Fox

"We all know they are smart, sexy and powerful, and great inside the ring. Fox, of course, ever since she won the right to face James for the Divas Championship has done nothing but create a psych-out job on her, hoping to make her easy pickings for last night.

"Yes, it was an extremely physical battle between these 2. If you ask me, I think that James had to have Fox's antics in the back of her mind as she nailed her with a hard-hitting DDT to get the win and retain the WWE Divas Championship.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Unified WWE Tag Team Championship Match:

Chris Jericho and The Big Show
    ------------vs----------------
    Batista and Rey Mysterio

"First off, I want to say that I'm very happy to see Rey back in action after his 30 day suspension, especially teaming up with the Animal. I do remember actually, back in 2005 when they neat MNM for the WWE Tag Team Championship.

"Last night, Mysterio proved that during his time away, that he was getting himself prepared both mentally and physically for his comeback, and against a guy like the Big Show. You have to, but Mysterio is no stranger to fighting guys the size of the Big Show. I was real impressed with the way that he handled himself in the ring against the Big Show, and let's not forget the way that he handled himself against Jericho. Remember back at Extreme Rules when Jericho tried taking his mask?

"Despite a great effort of teamwork by the Animal and the Master of the 619, and thanks to a hard-hitting right hand from the Big Show onto Mysterio, Jericho and the Big Show are still the Unified WWE Tag Team Champions.

"And from what I was reading on Wrestling-Radio.com Jericho was booed out of the arena in Batista's defense.
    -------------------------------------------------------

HELL IN A CELL MATCH FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP:

    John Cena
    ---Vs----
    Randy Orton

"It was Cena's first Hell in a Cell match and for Orton, it was his second, so you had to give the advantage to Orton, as much as it pains me to say it.

"Orton still had what happened at Breaking Point fresh in his mind when Cena made him say 'I quit'.

"Orton was using the same tactics that he used on Cena at Breaking Point, and Cena did fight back, going as far as countering his RKO. Cena even made Orton tap out to his STFU, but there was no referee, because he was knocked out. After Cena brought the referee back in the ring, Orton once again nailed him with his RKO and got a near fall. Then Orton had Cena wrapped in the ropes and Orton began choking Cena until he was blue in the face. Then Cena passes out and Orton nailed him with his punt to the skull and Orton once again is the WWE Champion.

"That made the crowd in Newark, NJ go crazy because they were so into Orton, and Cena was booed out of the ring. I wonder if this could be the start of John Cena's heel turn that we have been hearing about for months."
    --------------------------------------------------------------

    R-Truth
    ----vs----
    Drew McIntyre

"I don't know why this match was a part of Hell In a Cell. Based on the poll that I was reading on Wrestling-Radio.com, nobody really cared for this match at all, but I will say this-- it was actually nice to see what Drew McIntyre can do inside the ring, even though he won over R-Truth, and that's the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Triple Threat Match For The United States Championship

Kofi Kingston vs.The Miz Vs Jack Swagger

"Overcoming odds is something that the United States Champion, Kofi Kingston really knows how to do. This match was the most challenging in his career since becoming champion back in the Summer.

"The Miz and Swagger tried working together in the hopes of defeating Kingston, but their egos really got the best of them. That right there was Kingston's chance to strike.

"The perfect moment came for Kingston when Swagger gave the Miz his Gutwrench Powerbomb, then Kofi gave Swagger a little Trouble in Paradise to get the win and retain the United States Championship.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

    Hell in a Cell Match:

    Degeneration X
    -------VS-----
    Legacy

"As Degeneration X was headed to the ring, they were attacked from behind by Rhodes and Dibiase, recreating a scene from Breaking Point. They even went as far as knocking out Triple H on the stage, leaving Shawn Michaels to fend for himself.

"Triple H did try to look for a way to get inside the cage, but couldn't, so he went backstage and came back out with wire cutters, and finally got inside the cage, and all hell broke loose.

"The Game took a chain that they used to keep the cage door locked and nailed Dibiase with it, and he ended up outside the cage.

"All of a sudden, Cody Rhodes was alone against DX, trying to fend for himself. The Game had a chair in which he stuck Cody Rhodes' head through, and Micheals came down on him, with Dibiase going crazy. Then, before Micheals could give Rhodes some Sweet Chin Music, Triple H went and got a Sledgehammer. Micheals nailed Rhodes with some Sweet Chin Music, then gets nailed with the hammer and DX were the winners of the match.

"After the match was over, Ted Dibiase was tending to his partner, and he too got some Sweet Chin Music.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

"So I will say that it was a good PPV, but to tell the truth, it could have been better. If the WWE Creative Team hadn't been so exhausted from their overseas tour and coming back to give a good Raw at the last minute, that was their own fault, but I'm sure that they got plenty of rest and we are going to get a great Raw tonight, right????"

I can only hope so, Rob! Still, I'm in awe that the WWE was able to pull off a Hell in a Cell match without blood. Have a great RAW, everyone!:D

10/4/09 WWE Smackdown 10th anniversary Dirt Sheet

Saturday, October 3, 2009, 06:16 PM EST [General]

"Let's go back to April 23rd, 1999. A lot of people including myself, Jake, Tommie and maybe even Rick the WWE Sign Guy, turned on UPN, now known as the CW, and watched Smackdown for the very first time. At that time, NBC was number 1 in the primetime ratings for it's Thursday night line up. Well, ladies and gentlemen of the WWE Universe, I'm sure that you all can agree that what we saw on the very first Smackdown was considered Must See TV.

"Let's not forget all the memorable moments that brought us to the 10th anniversary of Smackdown that aired last night. And how about the new opening and theme music? Pretty catchy tune if I do say so myself. There was a huge party going on backstage with Superstars from Raw, ECW and Smackdown. After all, some stars made their very first WWE appearence on Smackdown, like John Cena on June 27, 2002, who confronted Kurt Angle and told him that he was there because he had ruthless aggression and **** slapped him across the face. That moment and many more is on the 100 Greatest Moments of Smackdown DVD set."
Quick note: Here is all the happenings I happened to catch during the party: How about when Vickie Guerrero-- yes, damn Vickie Guerrero introduced her new boyfriend, Eric Escobar to the WWE Universe, and also giving us another earful. GOD! Vickie, if you want to impress me, you gotta do two things. No. 1: No being annoying to the WWE Universe. No. 2: No saying "EXCUSE ME!!!!" every chance you get. I, along with the WWE Universe is so damn tired of hearing it week after week. But I hope Eric Escobar is as good as he says he is, and I'm lookin' forward to seeing what he can do in the ring. CM Punk tried but failed to have alcohol NOT play a part in the party, but you were way off of the money, Punk! Michael Cole, who was also a key part of many of the first few years on Smackdown, got into into a little trouble at the party, when he consumed a wee bit too much, and passed out in a sloppy mess, having Chris Jericho and the Big Show puke in front of the party guests, also having Joey Styles utter his famous "Oh, my god!" Vintage Joey Styles-- LOL MVP and the World's Strongest Man invited a lot of WWE Superstars and Divas-- into their VIP Lounge, with the exception of Zack Ryder, and I can't really blame them for that. Also, we saw Sgt. Slaughter and Iron Sheik relive their USA-Iran rivalry, and I thought we were gonna see them come to blows, but a sandwich caught in the Sheik's throat stopped it, before Hurricane Helms came to the rescue. And how about Yoshi Tatsu, Kung Fu Naki and Jillian in a rendition of Shawn Micheals' "Sexy Boy"? Damn, man. With all this going on, I'm surprised Ron Simmons wasn't there at the party. DAMN! XD The party ended with Drew McIntyre spoiling the party, and having R-Truth attack him and also messing up the Smackdown cake in the process. Still though, what a party, and it was one hell of an honor to see and be a part of it as it happened. Back to you, Rob!

"Batista was set for one on one action last night as he took on the Big Red Monster, Kane. Batista, as you know, is teaming up with Rey Mysterio to challenge Chris Jericho and the Big Show for the Unified WWE Tag Team Championships at Hell In a Cell this Sunday. The Animal and the master of the 619 are no strangers to being tag team partners. You may remember a moment from Smackdown, on December 19, 2005, when the 2 beat MNM for the WWE Tag Team Championship, and dedicated it to the memory of Eddie Guerrero.

"Last night's match was a great tune up match for the Animal, because both he and Kane are even in the size department, and there was only a 20 pound weight difference between the 2 as well, so it was going to be how well one can use their strength and power in this match.

"Kane went for a sidewalk slam, and goes for the cover and only gets a 2 count. Kane continued to have his way with the Animal, but just when Kane was ready for the chokeslam, Batista nailed Kane with the Batista Bomb and only got a 2 count. Batista once again countered another chokeslam and nailed him once again with his Batista Bomb and finally got the 3 count.

"I had mentioned earlier that Batista and Rey Mysterio dedicated their winning their Tag Team Championship from 2005 to Eddie Guerrero. Click on WWE.com to watch their tribute to Eddie Guerrero from last night. Believe me when I say, that it was well worth it being put together.

"In Tag Team action, which had to be a preview of what's to come this Sunday, the Intercontinental Champion, John Morrison and the United States Champion, Kofi Kingston took on the Miz and Dolph Ziggler.

"For the first time since the draft this past year, the Miz and Morrison were back in the ring together. When they came face to face, they were not talking about old times at all.

"Ziggler had himself tagged in the match and the Miz was ready to slingshot Kingston into Ziggler, but Kingston gave him a shot for his troubles. Kingston tried to tag in Morrison but Ziggler moved him back, and continued his onslaught. Afterwards, Ziggler tagged in the Miz and Ziggler told him to finish him off.

"Kingston went after the Miz and missed. Then Kingston tagged in his partner, Morrison, but at the same time, the Miz tagged in Ziggler and the 2 went at it as if they didn't want to wait until this Sunday. Then the Miz tried distracting Morrison, but Kingston went after him and the 2 were going at it outside the ring. Morrison tried finishing off Ziggler, but it was Ziggler finishing off Morrison with his hard-hitting neckbreaker he calls the Zig-Zag, making he and the Miz the winners of the match.

"FINALLY THE ROCK HAS COME BACK TO SMACKDOWN!!!!!!!!!

"That's right, Dwayne Johnson had a special message for the WWE Universe back when he was the Rock, but for everybody in the WWE Universe, he was and will always be known as the Rock.

"He talked about the past 10 years of Smackdown. He even hinted about guest hosting Raw perhaps, and that would be a Raw that even the NFL would tune in to see and not give a **** as to what's going on in the 45-yard line, if you catch my drift.

"The WWE Women's Championship was at stake in a Lumberjack match which really should have been called a Lumberjill match as the champion, Michelle McCool defended against Melina.

"Melina was kicked out of the ring and her friends were going to put her back in the ring, but McCool wanted to do that herself. Melina came back and gave McCool a one-woman flapjack and only got a 2 count.

"Jillian Hall tried grabbing the leg of Melina and she turns her attention to Jillian. This led to one hell of a catfight outside the ring. Melina was ready to finish off McCool but was knocked down to the top rope by the Glamazon. I'm Sure that you guys remember the history between these 2.

"McCool finished Melina off with the Faithbreaker to get the win and she retains the WWE Women's Championship.

"It was built up as the biggest 8 Man Tag Team match in Smackdown history:

    John Cena
    The Undertaker
    Degeneration X
    ------VS.--------
    CM Punk
    Randy Orton
    The Legacy

"This match alone had Hell In a Cell implacations going into this Sunday.

"I'm not going to lie to you, but I've seen some hard-fought matches in my time, but this, in my view, was the hardest fought ever.

"CM Punk and Triple H were going at it like crazy 'till the Game tagged in the Undertaker and Punk tagged in Orton because he wanted no part of the Undertaker[chicken!!!!] The Undertaker goes to work on Orton with a series of blows. Orton came back for a few seconds 'till the Undertaker locked In Hell's Gate but was saved by Ted Dibiase, and the Game came after him.

"All hell broke loose, like, I had a feeling that it was going to happen. Then all of a sudden, Randy Orton was trapped in the ring all alone with the Undertaker, Cena and DX. Orton was looking for a way out, but got Tombstoned by the Undertaker and gets the pinfall."

All in all, awesome show! See you all tomorrow with the Top 50 Countdown!:D
