    Bragging Rights 2009 Dirt Sheet

Monday, October 26, 2009, 03:55 PM EST [General]

"Another new Pay Per View for the WWE took place last night, and I'm making reference to Bragging Rights, of course, as it was a battle between both Raw and Smackdown.

"There were only 3 different Raw Vs Smackdown matches, therefore which ever show was to win 2 out of 3 matches, wins the Bragging Rights trophy that was located in front of the broadcast table. Here is how it all went.

The United States Champion, The Miz, wanted to prove to his former partner, the Intercontinetal Champion, John Morrison that he was the better man in the Miz/Morrison team. Morrison had other plans though. Definitely a great match to start off a great PPV, and let me say this, that at one point in the match, there was members of the WWE Universe chanting 'this is awesome', and believe me when I say that it was.

"I think that the rivalry that the Miz had with John Cena over the summer helped his wrestling ability out a great deal, and it showed during his match with Morrison, whose career has been doing nothing but look up ever since he was drafted to Smackdown back in April.

"I remember a little over a year ago on ECW when then General Manager, Teddy Long made a match between these 2, it looked to me that the Miz was too agile for Morrison, but last night, it appeared that the Miz knew him way too
well, as the Miz countered Morrison's Starship Pain to get the win, making the score Team Raw: 1 and Team Smackdown: 0

"It was a must win for Team Smackdown as the WWE Women's Champion, Michelle McCool, the Glamazon, Beth Phoenix and Natalya took on from RAW, Gail Kim, Kelly Kelly, and the WWE Divas Champion, Melina.

"For the Glamazon it was her first match since the divas trade made by Nancy O'Dell. This gave the Glamazon a chance to get her career back on track after that thing she had with Santino Marella.

"The WWE BTS people had to have seen that it was throwing her off. The Glamazon gained redemption as she nailed Melina with the Glamslam to get the win, tying things up 1 To 1, but this win didn't come easy at all, as Gail Kim and Kelly Kelly really took the fight to the Smackdown Divas. As for WWE Women's Champion, Michelle McCool, well, I hope that she was taking notes, because I honestly feel that the Glamazon could be a major threat to the Women's Championship.

"Don't be surprised if the Glamazon herself ends up being the dominate Diva on Friday mights.

WATCH OUT MICHELLE MCCOOL, YOU HAVE GOT A REAL CHALLENGER.

"So the rubber match was the 14 man Tag match, and I'll be perfectly honest with you people, I wasn't surprised at all to see that match alone be the rubber match.

"Before the match however, Team Raw Co-Captain Triple H told his team that they have got to win tonight, and it appeared that Team Raw was showing a great deal of confidence going into this huge match.

    TEAM RAW:

    Triple H
    Shawn Micheals
    Jack Swagger
    Mark Henry
    Cody Rhodes
    Kofi kingston
    Big Show

    -----vs.--------

    TEAM SMACKDOWN:

    Chris Jericho
    Kane
    Matt Hardy
    R-Truth
    The Hart Dynasty

"I'm going to be perfectly honest with you, this match was everything that I would expect it to be. After Team Smackdown changed after a nine-man Tag this past Friday night, we all knew that it was going to end up being an all out brawl.

"Kingston saw Jericho was motionless in the ring and was going to finish him off with help from the Big Show, but thanks to his betrayal when he chokeslammed Kingston and knocked out Triple H, Jericho gets the pin and Team Smackdown gets the Bragging Rights trophy. Later on after the match was over, Kingston and Cody Rhodes had an exchange of words which led to Cody attacking Kingston.

Fatal 4 way match for the World Heavyweight Championship:

    The Undertaker[Champion]
    CM Punk
    Batista
    Rey Mysterio

"The WWE Universe was thrown into a frenzy when the match got started as the tide of bedlam was shifting from one superstar to another, and the way that this match was going, it looked like any one of these great WWE Superstars was going to become champion.

"Towards the end, it looked like Batista was going to come out on top and win the World Heavyweight Championship, but Rey put a stop to that. The Animal then threw Rey out of the ring onto Punk.

"This allowed the Undertaker to nail the Animal with a Tombstone to get the win and retain the World Heavyweight Championship.

"Later after the match was over, the unthinkable happened, as the Animal, angry as hell, told the WWE Universe that he was sick of his best friend stabbing him in the back, making the WWE Universe and Rey more stunned when he said that he was going to rip his head off.

"The Animal did a number on his now former best friend.

Thanks, Batista! And to think, I bought your DVD a few days ago.

Anything Goes 60 Minute Iron Man Match For The WWE Championship:

    JOHN CENA
    -----vs------
    RANDY ORTON

"This match was to be the final match of one of the greatest rivalries in WWE history, and it was a true classic.

"It is tough to talk about a match like this, so what I'm going to do is show the match scoreboard:

03:56 Cena wins first fall by submission
    08:59 Orton wins by pinfall
16:45 Cena wins by a Pinfall with Orton, countering with an Attitude Adjustment, making this match even at 2 falls each
19:22 Cena wins by pinfall via Attitude Adjustment off the top rope
20:41 Orton wins by pinfall with Legacy attcking Cena, and Cena getting nailed by Dream Street
25:20 Orton wins by pinfall after Cena went through a light structure
32:43 Cena wins by pinfall with a small package
35:03 Orton wins by pinfall with Orton nailing Cena with a DDT from the ring apron onto the arena floor.
50:46 Cena wins by pinfall by giving Orton the Attitude Adjustment through the announce table
59:56 Cena wins by Submission with Orton tapping out to the STF

"After all that, John Cena is once again the WWE Champion, and is staying on Raw, but if Cena were to have lost, then we would have been seeing him on Friday nights.

"As for Randy Orton, based on the agreement that he made with Orton, it will be a while before he gets another crack at the WWE Championship.

"What a good Bragging Rights PPV it was and it was better than Hell in a Cell. Good job, WWE."

Good job, indeed. Let's hope RAW tonight is just as explosive as last night's Bragging Rights, and it's bound to be, especially with NASCAR'S Kyle Busch and 20-year old phenom Joey Logano hosting. Have a great day, everyone, and in the words of the Miz and Morrison, be jealous:D

    10/24/09 Smackdown Dirt Sheet

Saturday, October 24, 2009, 05:26 PM EST [General]

"First off, I want to say, no, you were not watching Raw last night, and no, you were not watching Smackdown from 1999. It was Micheal Cole and Jerry ''The King'' Lawler  doing Smackdown last night. Reason being, as I was saying this past week in my ECW Blog, Jim Ross is out due to his 3rd Bell's Palsy attack. But if you saw both Smackdown last night and WWE Superstars this past Thursday night, you know that they mentioned that he was just plain under the weather. Yeah, I'll admit that with Jim Ross and the King working together, I was so looking forward to last night's Smackdown.

"At the start of last night's Smackdown, Chris Jericho addressed the whole WWE Universe about he feels that team Smackdown is going to run roughshod over team Raw tommorrow night, but as each member came out individually, including Vickie Guerrero (DAMN!)  it was looking like there was some friction among team Smackdown.(just like there was at the start of Raw last Monday night, HMM!!! go figure) , so co-captains Jericho and Kane put their teammates in a 4 on 5 Tag Team match. Why it was 4 on 5 is because JTG's partner, Shad is out with the flu. [Hey, it's that time of the year] just like Triple H and Shawn Michaels did with their team this past Monday, Jericho and Kane stated that whomever wins will be a part of team Smackdown tomorrow at Bragging Rights.

"Their opponents were the exact same people that they beat to be a part of team Smackdown.

    R-Truth
    Matt Hardy
    Finlay
    The Hart Dynasty

"This match proved how fast things can change, both in the ring and behind the scenes(lol). Towards the end of the match, it appeared that all hell was going to break loose, and it did.

"After JTG was nailed by Finlay's shillieagh and was dropped to the Twist of Fate by Matt Hardy to get the win. Now that Matt Hardy, R-Truth, Finlay and the Hart Dynasty are a part of team Smackdown, I think that now a lot of fans can rest easy and really enjoy this huge 14-man Tag Team match. Personally, Eric Escobar has a lot more proving to do before he could be on a part of a major PPV.

"I'm sure that a lot of you would agree with me when I say that John Morrison was the better half of the Miz and Morrison's Tag Team, and that Morrison can't wait to get his hands on the Miz tomorrow at Bragging Rights.

"Last night on Smackdown however, Morrison had his work cut out for gim against Mike Knox. Morrison needed a great warmup match going into this Sunday, as he was standing toe-to-toe with Knox. Even though Knox gave him a run for his money, in the end, Knox became a victim of Starship Pain as Morrison came out on top.

    MESSAGE FOR THE MIZ:

"I so hope that you are ready to get the best beating of your life tomorrow night. I mean, when you beat Marty Jannetty last Monday on Raw, it looked real easy, but tomorrow night for you, Mizzy Jannetty, ain't going to be easy for you. You say you carried Morrison, well I beg o differ. John Morrison carried you, and I'm sure that the whole WWE Universe agrees with me.

"Last week as we all know, Rey Mysterio won his match over The Animal, Batista, but with controversy of Batista's shoulder getting up without the referee seeing it, my question is this, is that referee related to Scott Armstrong?

"Mysterio and Batista were putting last week aside to face both Chris Jericho and Batista.

"Despite what happened last week, I'm sure that the late Eddie Guerrero would be very proud of these 2, especially with the way with how well they were working together as a team.

"The crowd went nuts when the Animal was going to work on the Big Red Monster, but when Mysterio saw that he was in trouble, Mysterio went to help him, but fell victim to Kane's chokeslam. After that,  Kane was speared by the Animal in the end to get the win.

"Mickie James, from what I have been reading on both wrestling-radio.com and Wrestlezone.com, has been taking a lot heat from WWE officials when it came to her work in the ring.

"Before her match last night against Layla, she was in the back talking to WWE Hall of Famer, Mae Young and she was interrupted by the current WWE Women's Champion, Michelle McCool, giving James all kinds of **** about how she is not a part of team Smackdown in that 6 Divas tag match tomorrow at Bragging Rights.

"James told McCool that she was not intimidated and that she was going to be the next WWE Women's Champion.

"If you ask me, I think that James made her message perfectly clear in her match last night against Layla. I think that the WWE BTS people should see that her win last night was an impressive one. So I think that it's time for them to ease up on her and start booking her the right way.

"The main event was the Undertaker defending the World Heavyweight Championship against CM Punk in yet another Submission match with Scott Armstrong as the referee and Smackdown General Manager Teddy Long at ringside.

"I know for a fact that down deep, Teddy Long wanted the Undertaker to win, that way he can right the wrong that took place at Breaking Point.

"Punk was closing in on his 4th title, but when he asked Long to give him the chair, he gave it to Scott Armstrong, and Punk took it away from him, and went after the Undertaker but was caught.

"Then, Undertaker chokeslammed Armstrong which left Long in a great deal of fear. He took a look at Long, and Long runs away, but Punk did a number on the Undertaker with the chair. Punk told Long to get another referee as he applied the Anaconda Vise on the Undertaker, Long told them to ring the bell, but just as soon as another referee came in the ring, the Undertaker countered and applied Hell's Gate on Punk, and Punk tapped out, and the Undertaker is still the World Heavyweight Champion.

"Long had a worried look on his face."

Damn, Bragging Rights is gonna be one hell of a PPV! Have a great night!

WWE Smackdown vs RAW 2010 review

Thursday, October 22, 2009, 07:02 PM EST [General]

Well, as some of you may know, I finally got my hands on WWE Smackdown vs RAW 2010, and I tell you, I LOVE IT! I definitely love what they did with story creator this year, allowing you to create your own shows and stories, In fact, I just finished almost perfectly emulating last Monday's RAW. When I get off the computer tonight, I'm actually gonna start creating last Tuesday's ECW as well. I can't wait to play the story and check out some of my creative genius at work. Now, some text on my story is a bit weird, but I'm new to the create-a-story mode, so oh, well, not bad for a first try-- LOL I got almost all of the unlockable characters, with the exception of Mr. McMahon. I don't know if I really want to play as him, though, so no harm, no foul. The new superstars play pretty good as well. In fact, when I first unlocked Eve in Road to Wrestlemania mode, I played as her in a match against Natalya. Though they don't have her handspring elbow as a finisher, she's pretty impressive. Dare I say, I think she looks better in the PS2 version then the PS3/XBOX360 version. In fact, some characters do, I think. Although, I did notice that some characters in the game (PS2 version) are the same as last year with their costumes and models-- ipso ergo-- Melina, Kelly Kelly, William Regal, JTG, CM Punk, Mr. Kennedy, etc, but I don't really mind it though, as long as they're in the ring themselves. The unlockables this year are pretty cool, I think. You can unlock some legends such as Bob Orton, Ted Dibiase Sr. AKA Million Dollar Man, Dusty Rhodes, The Rock and Trish Stratus, and that's awesome, because I sure as hell love to play as Trish. Despite having Stone Cold Steve Austin omitted from the PS2 version, they still have his titantron and music, for some odd reason. Still, nice that it's there. The blood does look the same, but for some reason, they decided to make it more brutal this year, so no gripes about that. It took a while for me to get used to the new hud, but I definitely like it for sure. And the TV like presentation is pretty ****in' as well. I mean, you got the WWE live logo on most arenas, there are many different camera angles during a match, and the commentary also has greatly improved. Definitely better than last year, and all the other SDVR games. The ring announcers speech has also improved as well. For instance, in past SDVRs, they would announce Kane's weight as 326 pounds, and that's pretty inaccurate by my standards. Now they announce Kane's weight as 323 pounds, so BIG improvement there. Another weight example, in past SDVRs, Batista's weight was 317 pounds, now it's 280 pounds, so big ups to the commentators for correcting it. What else to say that's awesome about the game? You can actually put Divas in almost all the match types, including Hell in a Cell, Steel Cage, ECW Extreme Rules, etc, just like classic THQ WWE games. Oh, and the Royal Rumble match has improved greatly, with fun as hell mini games to determine a superstar's elimination, instead of a crummy little meter, and there are different movements as well, as in great elimination animations, as well as eliminated superstars walking to the back, instead of just disappearing. I haven't tried the Championship Scramble yet, but I'll give it a whirl later tonight after TNA iMPACT. There are also a whole lot of backstage spots too, especially the Miz and Morrison's Dirt Sheet set as well. Ah, nothing like havin' a good ol' fight on the Dirt Sheet. Now, if I can get Miz and Morrison to fight on the set, and tear it down, for old times sake-- LOL The menu modes have improved greatly, as instead of pressing a button like X or O to go to a options feature, you can instead press right on your D-pad, and it will take you to the feature of your choice. Another innovative feature that I love. For the grapples, they completely revamped it, by adding 4 new strong grapple holds, just like the classics. Now they've also added side grapples as well for the person on the ground, for a more realistic wrestling approach, so more big ups. Create-a-finisher has also greatly improved as well, as well as the addition of adding flying finishers, so I can hope to recreate some sick as hell aerial moves, like former TNA Wrestler Jerrelle Clark's 630 splash. Maybe I could give the 630 splash to Morrison, who knows? For the drawbacks, there are actually a couple. One, for create-a-wrestler mode, the call names have drastically shortened, but hey, I don't mind it a bit. You can even have the fans chant your call name, so that's definitely not a drawback, now that I think about it. Another one, is that there are occasions where the announcer do tend to slip up on commentary and refer to Divas as men, but that don't bother me a bit. One more thing-- PS2 doesn't have the Superstar Threads like PS3 and XBOX360, as well as Stone Cold, like I said, but hey, I'm not bothered by it.

My final rating for the game is 9. 5 out of 10. The graphics are awesome, the gameplay rocks, the TV presentation is phenomenal, and the create modes have been upgraded a lot. I highly recommend getting this game if you're a WWE fan like myself.

That's all for this update, folks. Have a turnbuckle tomorrow!:D

    10/21/09 ECW Dirt Sheet

Wednesday, October 21, 2009, 06:23 PM EST [General]

"Before I start off with this ECW recap, I have this news to break to you. I'm sure that a lot of people were looking forward to this Friday night's Smackdown broadcast with Jim Ross and Jerry 'The King' Lawler once again, but this past Monday night, as he was on his way to do Smackdown, Jim Ross suffered his third Bell's Palsy attack. Thankfully, he was able to reach WWE doctors who were In Jacksonville this past Monday night for Raw, so Micheal Cole and Jerry 'The King' Lawler  will call Smackdown this Friday night.

"Like J.R was saying in one of his blogs, better days are on the horizon. Hope to see you back in action soon, J.R.  You are without a doubt a true voice of wrestling.

"Now onto last night's ECW wn which Chris Jericho made an unexpected appearance last night in the hopes of making his team Smackdown a little better going into Bragging Rights this Sunday, so he decided to have a talk with ECW General Manager, Tiffany in hopes of scouting the talent on that roster for the team, and Tiffany would not allow him to do so. She gave him 2 choices, he could either watch the show, or he could leave.

"Jericho chose to leave, and as he was leaving, Jericho had a run in with William Regal, Ezekial Jackson and Vladimir Kozlov, Jericho was hoping to recruit Kozlov and Jackson, but Tiffany was also overhearing some choice words that he had to say about Tiffany, and as a result of this, Chris Jericho was put in last night's main event against an old rival of his, the ECW Champion, Christian.

"The last time these 2 met in the ring, it was about 2004, and if my memory serves me right, I think that It was over Trish Stratus. I'm sure the whole WWE Universe remembers their rivalry, so they knew that they were in for one hell of a match, and believe me when I say, that it was. So many nearfalls took place between both men. Some people were behind Christian and some people were behind Jericho, but in the end, it was Christian who came out on top after he nailed Jericho with the Killswitch.

"Jericho got a taste of what the current ECW is about. After all, he was a part of the original ECW.

"Next week on ECW, Christian will defend the ECW Championship against Yoshi Tatsu, who beat Zack Ryder in a Number 1 Contenders match at the start of last night's show. Ryder's cocky and brass attitude didn't work in his favor this time, and I'm sure that he will be watching next week's Championship match very closely, because he know has to start from scratch all over again.

"Sheamus was set for action against J.T Quinn, who by the way, was going to get beat up by the Miz this past Monday night on Raw, until Snoop Dogg made him face Marty Jannetty.

"Last night's match was a no contest when Shelton Benjamin came and attacked Sheamus after what he said last week. Sheamus grasped the back of his head and made a quick exit after the assault.

"One more thing, Paul Burchill has not heard the last of the Hurricane by a longshot.I'm wondering who the first Hurricane was when he called him out to take the mask off."

No idea on that, but I'm sure we could be hearing more of him in time. Have a great night, everyone!
