    7/15/09 ECW Dirt Sheet

Wednesday, July 15, 2009, 06:12 PM EST [General]

"You may remember last week on ECW, Vladimir Kozlov went for a Battering Ram onto Christian, but missed and hit the exposed turnbuckle which resulted in controversy as Christian beat the Moscow Mauler to challenge Tommy Dreamer at the Night of Champions for the ECW Championship.

"Last night On ECW, it started out with what I along with Tommie Butler consider to be the match of the entire show as Christian went up against the Gold Standard, Shelton Benjamin.

"Captain Charisma had the match in the early stages, until Vladimir Kozlov joined the announce team. That right there turned the tables in favor of the Gold Standard. Unfortunetly for Christian, his right arm was injured, which became a target For Benjamin.

"Christian wasn't going to let that injury get the best of him, but I have to believe that it did when he went for the Killswitch, and was unsuccessful thanks to the injury and in the end Benjamin nailed Christian with Paydirt to get the win.

"And in the main event, it was a non-title match as Kozlov himself went up against the ECW Champion, Tommy Dreamer.

"If you ask me I think that point that Kozlov was trying to make while being at the announce table as well as during his match against Dreamer is that his loss last week against Christian was an accident.

"I'm just glad he didn't do what Jack Swagger did and that was cry like a **** and say that Christian cheated because the truth is that he didn't.

"Kozlov proved that he is worthy of becoming ECW Champion when he beat Dreamer with his brutality that Kozlov possesess everytime that he is in the ring.

"But after the match was over, Kozlov continued to do a number on the ECW Original which resulted in Christian coming to the ring to not only help Dreamer, but get some revenge after what happened earlier in the show.

"But when he went after Kozlov, he missed and accidently nailed Dreamer. After that was over, Kozlov nailed Christain again.

"I've got a feeling that Kozlov is going to watch this match very closely if you know what I mean."
My thoughts: Definently, I got a feeling we could see another Triple Threat match for a title at Night of Champions.

"Someone who already made a great impact on ECW after he had his match last week with the Gold Standard was Yoshi Tatsu who showed the WWE Universe that he is worthy of making a great impression.

"Last night, he had a match with Paul Burchill who was out for a while due to a death in his family. And you want to talk about overcoming adversity and having a little luck on his side, that is exactly what happened when Burchill and the referee where having an exchange of words over a call that he made, Tatsu nailed Burchill with a high kick to the head to get the win."
My thoughts: Well, I said last blog that Yoshi was gonna make a huge impact, and he has over that incredible win over Burchill.

"Goldust made his first apperance in the Land of Extreme last night against Zack Ryder who if you think about it, does have the same train of thought that Goldust has but is nowhere near as weird as Goldust.

"Goldust gave Ryder that quick breath to his face, and that really enraged Ryder, as in the end, Ryder put Goldust away with the Zack Attack to get the win."
My thoughts: I thought Goldust was gonna be successful on his first time in ECW, but damn, Ryder is just red-hot right now, racking up win after win as of late.

"Tiffany was backstage on her cellphone when she got a visit from Tyler Reks, who is hopng to get his first match on ECW. Tiffany gave it to him, and did you see the look on her face? I just hope that this is not one of those things where she is bitten by the lovebug, like she was with Ricky Ortiz. God knows she can do a lot better.

"I will also say this, Ezekial Jackson's time away since being drafted to ECW has done him some good, as those are some pretty big muscles he has hot.

"Sheamus made another appearence last night on ECW when he took on another local competeitor and making quick work of him, as he plans on planting the Irish flag down by dominating ECW."
My thoughts: I tell you, the new superstar intitiave has really been pretty impressive, and I bet we'll see more incredible things from these guys as the weeks continue here on ECW.

    7/14/09 RAW Dirt Sheet

Wednesday, July 15, 2009, 06:11 PM EST [General]

"What I want to do is bring everybody up to speed as to what has been going on on Raw during the last month.

"1st- Donald Trump buys Monday Night Raw
2nd-Vince McMahon buys back Raw at double the price
3rd-Each week Monday Night Raw has a special guest host

"Last night on Raw, Seth Green, whom a lot of you may remember from the Austin Powers movies and his own show, Robot Chicken, which by the way on July 27th will do a very special WWE episode.

"You can tell that Green was extremely happy about being Raw's guest host last night and check this main event out, it was a 6-man tag pitting the entire Legacy up against Triple H, John Cena and Seth Green himself. You have to wonder if Green was getting in a little over his head.

"We all know that in the past, both Cena and the Game have not really seen eye to eye, but despite all that, the 2 held it together throughout the match.

"Green himself got a shot on Rhodes at one point in the match, and later on in the match when Randy Orton was ready to finish off the Game, Seth Green himself dove in and made the save, which didn't sit very well with the viper, as he gave Green a cheap shot and was setting him up for his deadly punt. John Cena came to the aid of his celebrity partner, fighting off every member of the Legacy before the Game himself came in the ring with his trusty sledgehammer.

"As a result of the melee that happened, this match ended up a no-contest."
My thoughts: All I gotta say is, that Seth Green has got some guts, man. I'm glad he didn't get too beat up out there, otherwise the papers would be all over this story by now.

"Another match that Green made was a rematch from last Thursday night on WWE Superstars when Chavo Guerrero took on Hornswoggle with Chavo on his knees. Last night on Raw, Chavo once again took on Hornswoggle with one hand tied behind his back.

"Thanks in part to this handicap that was placed upon the former ECW Champion, Chavo once again lost to the little guy proving that you are never too small to win big."
My thoughts: You said it best, buddy. Hornswoggle is a perfect example that you're never too small to accomplish big things, like beating a former ECW Champion like Chavo.

"While Green was in his dressing room, he got a visit from Chris Jericho who shall we say was giving Green all kinds of **** about how since he was the guest host of Raw that he never bothered to make Jericho his first priority and tend to all he needs.

"Jericho is probably too dumb to know that Green hates Jericho just like everybody else in the WWE Universe does. Jericho had an annoucement to make about his partner, Edge who is out due to a torn achillies tendon.

"Jericho said that he was looking for a new Tag Team partner, someone who, shall we say that lives up to Jericho's standards and that he thinks the same way Jericho does. Mark Henry came out and told Jericho that he would love to be his partner, but instead Mark Henry was Jericho's opponent last night.

"Henry went as far as ripping Jericho's suit off as well, beating him with every inch of his life, but Jericho tried to get back in the ring. However, Henry wasn't going to give a chance to do so.

"But when Jericho was getting back in the ring, he heads back to the locker room and ends up losing by a count out."
My thoughts: Well, at least that Mark Henry is proving his dominance once again, and letting scared guys like Cody Rhodes and Jericho run back to the locker room. I wonder who Mark is gonna make run next?

"Last week on Raw, Jack Swagger was the guest of MVP's in the V.I.P Lounge and took all kinds of shots at the former United States Champion, bringing up MVP's troubled past, which included the time he spent in prison.

"MVP is not at all ashamed about his past, in fact, he uses that to help young kids to do the right thing and not make mistakes like he did as a youth. Swagger and MVP had their match last night in which MVP's right arm was injured. Swagger targeted that arm and used it to his advantage.

"In the end, Swagger nailed MVP with his Gutwrench Powerbomb to get his first official win on Raw."
My thoughts: I gotta admit, despite him nearly chickening out the first couple of weeks on RAW, Swagger definently doesn't have any ring rust from ECW whatsoever.

"Things have not been the same for Primo after what his brother, Carlito did to him  last week after losing to Edge and Chris Jericho. Last night, Primo called out his brother but instead got the Miz, who still claims that Maryse has the hots for him.

"This once again gives the Miz yet another chance to really impress Maryse, and the Miz got the win over Primo, thanks to a distraction from his brother and after the match was over, Carlito went back to his old tricks by taking a bite out of an apple and spitting it into his face."
My thoughts: Damn, I didn't think Carlito would literally spit in his brother's face like that. I can definently tell that this family feud is gonna last quite a while.

"The Big Show saw action last Night at 485 pounds, against Evan Bourne at 183 pounds.

"At the announce table was the current United States Champion, Kofi Kingston who was still in pain from those very brutal attacks from the Big Show who had Bourne in his Colossal Clutch and even though the Big Show won the match by submission, he would not release the hold.

"This resulted in Kingston coming in the ring and kicks the Big Show in the back of the head. He then followed up with a dropkick that sends the Big Show stumbling back to the dressing room."
My thoughts: After seeing Bourne get the **** beaten out of him by Big Show last night, I can only hope Evan's all right, and that his neck's not broken.

"The best is saved for last as it was a 6 Diva Summer Swimsuit Spectacular as Mickie James, Gail Kim and Kelly Kelly took on Rosa Mendes, Alicia Fox and the WWE Divas Champion, Maryse.

"I'm not going to talk about how this match went, because just seeing these Divas in their respective bathing suits was awesome to see.

"Even though Maryse pinned Mickie James, I truly believe that James will become the new Divas Champion. And how sexy did she look in her bathing suit? It's a shame that I wasn't walking on a beach and saw Mickie James laying in the sand because I would have loved to rub suntan lotion all over her body if I saw her."
My thoughts: Oh, you definently said a lot, man. Big ups to Seth Green for making this match!:D

    7/11/09 Smackdown Dirt Sheet

Sunday, July 12, 2009, 10:52 AM EST [General]

"There was all kinds of mayhem that ruled Friday Night Smackdown last night, so let's get to it all.

"At the start of last night's Smackdown, Jeff Hardy came to the ring with an eye patch over his left eye. Hardy was telling the WWE Universe that last week during his tag team match with CM Punk as his partner, a major tragedy happened when he fell off the ring apron due to an eye injury.

"But as it turns out once again that Jeff Hardy pulled one over on CM Punk, when he took it off and said that his eye injury is sust as serious as Punk's. Hardy had a match last night against the Big Red Monster, Kane.

"Punk came out on the scene last night when Hardy had a lot of momentum going his way, and once again was pretending that his eye was still in pain. This distraction caused the Big Red Monster to recover from the beating that Hardy gave him in this hard-fought match and Chokeslammed Hardy to get yhe win.

"Later on that night, Jeff Hardy was sitting at the announce table with Jim Ross and Todd Grisham to watch Punk take on the Great Khali. Before the match got started, Punk, well, let's just say that CM Punk was doing what MVP did last Summer and what Triple H did weeks before their match that they had at last years No Mercy, and that's passed judgement on Jeff Hardy for his troubled past.

"Punk also accused Hardy of his eye injury that he suffered at the Bash.

"Punk's match with the Great Khali was declared a no-contest when the Big Red Monster, Kane made another appearence, this time with a steel chair, looking for revenge for what Khali did to him last week, when he took the steel chair to Kane.

"However, Ranjin Singh supplied Khali with a chair of his own. Kane struck the Punjabi Playboy first, then in a fit of anger, Khali went after Kane with his chair, causing him to once again retreat."
My thoughts: Nice how WWE intertwined two rivalries into a few big matches. The Kane-Khali rivalry I think has reached a fever pitch, and I bet we'll see more head games between Punk and Hardy next week.

"Back in the locker room in Teddy Long's office, John Morrison told him that he wants to challenge the winner of the Hardy/Punk match, but Morrison needed to focus on his match that he had last night against Dolph Ziggler, who was engaging in some personal activity inside the closet with Maria. Gee!!!!!!  I wonder what they were doing and could someone please put that tape on the internet so I can see exactly what they were doing.

"Anyway, Morrison and Ziggler had an extremely solid match last night, which Ended in controversy when Morrison went for the Moonlight Drive and Ziggler countered and rolled him up and grabbed his tights to get the win."
My thoughts: DAMN! Is Dolph a lucky man or what? He got what Santino Marella didn't get, if you know what I mean-- LOL

"Last night's word thanks to Cryme Tyme's Word Up was Bromance, something that 2 dudes who are close enough in order to be a couple, like Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble, Brody Jenner and Spencer Pratt, Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhall-- wait a minute, I think Heath and Jake's bromance was something entirely different.

"Or how about Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith, who had their rematch with Cryme Tyme last night? Last week, Cryme Tyme scored a victory over The Hart Dynasty in their very first appearence since being traded to Smackdown from ECW.

"Natalya saw that Kidd and Smith were in a lot of trouble, so she jumped on the apron and distracted the referee and JTG allowing the Hart Dynasty to make a powerful double team assault on Shad to get the win."
My thoughts: So the Hart Dynasty's got a win, and Cryme Tyme's got a win. I wonder if there's gonna be a rubber match between these two teams next week?

"Then it was the ever so sexy WWE Women's Champion Michelle McCool and Layla taking on former WWE Women's Champion, Melina and the ever so sexy Eve Torres.

"Thanks to Layla who accidently was smacked into McCool, Melina rolled her up for the pin and after the match was over, McCool attacked the former WWE Women's Champion, inticing a red hot brawl between the 2 Divas."
My thoughts: Man alive, I'd say that the McCool-Melina rivalry is now at the highest fever pitch it's ever been in. At Night of Champions, I say let the two once and for all settle their differences.

"I'm sure that you all in the WWE Universe will remember the epic battle that Chris Jericho and Rey Mysterio had at the Bash. Last night's main event was their rematch, and last night's match was just as epic as their match that they had not only at The Bash But at Extreme Rules as well.

"Mysterio once again had sucessfully defended his Intercontinental Championship when he nailed Jericho with his 619, and followed up with the splash.

"And after the match was over, Jericho's partner, Edge, who by the way since this episode of Smackdown was taped, Edge had already gone into surgery due to a torn Achillies Tendon he suffered during a match with Jeff Hardy.

"I hope that Edge makes a speedy recovery because I hope to see him and all the Smackdown/ECW stars when they come back to Cleveland on September 1st at the Q. I'm planning on asking either Michelle McCool or Eve Torres out on a date, so wish me luck, OK?

"Anyway, Edge tried to attack Mysterio, but the Master of the 619 escaped, then as he was ready to go back to the locker room, he was attacked by Dolph Ziggler.

"Ziggler threw Mysterio back in the ring where he was nailed by a Codebreaker from Jericho with some help From Edge, then Ziggler came in the ring and was sizing him up. At this point, I was hoping John Morrison was going to come out and not only to help Rey but get some revenge for the victory that Ziggler stole from him.

"But unfortunetly, Ziggler nailed Mysterio with a hard-hitting neckbreaker of his own. Now we are probably going to see Dolph Ziggler take on Rey Mysterio at the Night of Champions for the Intercontinental Championship.

"I remember back in 1988 when we were thinking that Vince McMahon was still a play by play announcer, he said this back when Randy' Macho Man' Savage was getting double teamed by Andre the Giant and the Million Dollar Man, Ted Dibiase and said, 'if you are going to challenge someone, you come out and challenge them like a man, you don't take someone from behind.

"I'm so sure that Mysterio is going to make Ziggler pay for his actions."
My thoughts: Definently so. Rey Rey is gonna make Dolph pay for sure for tarnishing his huge celebration for winning the IC title like that.

    7/10/09 Double Dirt Sheet

Sunday, July 12, 2009, 10:49 AM EST [General]

"It was not one but 2 doses of WWE action last night. First it was a special edition of ECW last night on SYFY,(this is what they are going to call themselves now) and of course, WWE Superstars on WGN America.

    FIRST FROM ECW:

Last night, the current ECW Champion Tommy Dreamer was the guest of Abraham Washington's on the Abraham Washington Show.

"Washington instead of bragging about his high ratings, he was taking all kinds of shots at Dreamer, but Dreamer said something to him and if I'm not mistaken, I'm pretty damn sure that he said that at least that I don't have my hair stapled to my head like you do. Woah snap, Dreamer did not just go there, but it looks like he did to me.

"Washington asked who he wanted to win last night's ECW main event between Christian and Vladimir Kozlov, and Dreamer said that he wanted Christian to win.

"But he said that it has nothing to do with the fact that they are friends. This resulted in Kozlov invading the ring giving Dreamer a huge staredown.

"So it was Christian taking on Vladimir Kozlov with the winner taking on Dreamer at the Night of Champions for the ECW Championship.

"Kozlov was running like a One Man Gang, taking control of the match as he sent Captain Charisma outside the ring. Kozlov went after Christian and tried sending him into the ring post, but he countered and sent Kozlov in the ring instead. Christian comes off the top rope and nails Kozlov right between the eyes and the bridge of the nose, goes for the cover and only gets a 2 count.

"Kozlov had Christian in a backbreaker and nails him with a hard hitting move and goes for the cover but only gets a 2 count. Christian has some fight left in him.

"Kozlov tried to ram his head into Christian, but misses and Christian nails him with the Killswitch to get the win, and he will be facing Tommy Dreamer at the Night of Champions for the ECW Championship.

"Keep this in mind, Christian was never pinned when he lost the ECW Championship at Extreme Rules.

"I will agree with Dreamer when he said that Christian's victory over Kozlov was considered an upset."
My thoughts: Upset is the right word, because Vladimir Kozlov at the early point of his WWE career went undefeated, so Christian did an awesome job taking down a giant tower such as the Moscow Mauler.

"Last week on ECW, Shelton Benjamin made his return to the Land of Extreme thanks in part to the 15 superstar trade made by Donald Trump, and lost to Yoshi Tatsu with just one kick to the head.

"Last night on ECW, Benjamin got his rematch, and I finally got to see what exactly Tatsu can do in the ring, and I have to say that I'm very impressed with his martial arts skills, and I truly think that he will make his mark in the ECW brand. What a great addition he is.

However, it wasn't enough to put away Benjamin for the second week in a row as Tatsu was nailed with some Paydirt to get the win and perhaps some revenge after what happened last week."
My thoughts: Well, I must say, I agree with you when you say Yoshi Tatsu is an awesome addition to ECW. He might not have the same aerial skills as Evan Bourne, but he's definently gonna add some excitement to ECW every Tuesday night.

"It's been a while since we have seen Ezekial Jackson on WWE television since he was drafted to ECW back in April. In fact if I'm not mistaken, I think that he was spending some time in FCW, which was the WWE's territorial development.

'But nonetheless, Jackson made his first appearence on ECW since being drafted, and made quick work of a local competitor. I'll be honest with you, I think that Ezekial Jackson is better off without the Brian Kendrick."
My thoughts: Definently, because now he can show his own in-ring skills, and man, he showed a whole lot of power out there.

"The oh so sexy Nikki Bella had her first match on ECW against Katie Lea Burchill. Nikki showed off a great deal of strong and sly in-ring skills, but when the referee and Burchill's back was turned, the Bellas pulled the pld switcheroo, like they used to do when they were on Smackdown, in order to get the win.:
My thoughts: Well, thank goodness the Abraham Washington didn't tear the Bellas apart last week, because they worked pretty good as a team last night.

    FROM WWE SUPERSTARS:

"I think that I'm going to continue on talking about ECW now that I'm talking about last night's WWE Superstars, so let's continue.

"Last week on WWE Superstars, Zack Ryder's undefeated streak continued when he beat newcomer from FCW, Tyler Reks. Last night, Reks had a chance to get a little bit of revenge for that loss against the possible member of the VH1 Tool Academy.

"Reks has it all, and I'm making reference to his wrestling ability, agility and his  athleticism to put away Ryder, that's how good Reks is, and I think that it is time to push Reks.

"Ryder went for the Zack Attack, but Reks countered and goes for the cover, but only gets a 2 count.

"Ryder tried again with the Zack Attack and this time gets the win, I think that it goes without saying that Zack Ryder can be the superstar to watch in the WWE."
My thoughts: I gotta say, I thought the second time could be the charm for Reks, but still, awesome, awesome job in there.

"R-Truth saw action last night on WWE Superstars when he took on the so-called motivational speaker, Ricky Ortiz.

"Ortiz tried giving R-Truth one of his motivational speeches, but Truth wasn't going to listen. Ortiz had the match in his favor, but Truth started to get fired up, but ran into a sidewalk Slam. Then Ortiz went for the Big O but misses. Truth rolls up Ortiz but only gets a 2 count.

"Truth powerslams Ortiz moments later and only gets a 2 count. Then out of nowhere, Truth nails Ortiz with the Lie Detector to get the win.

"Truth may have won the match, but Ortiz was the Dominate one."
My thoughts: Ricky Ortiz was definently the dominant one, and I bet in future matches, Ricky Ortiz can definently pile up a few wins with his incredible strength.

"Then in a match made by Vince McMahon, Chavo Guerrero took on little Hornswoggle while down on his knees. [Go figure]

"Guerrero went to the Ropes while on his knees and went off to nail Hornswoggle, but paid for it.

"Then the former ECW Champion goes for the 3 Amigo's while being on his knees, [OH BOY] but the 3rd was blocked by Little Horny. Guerrero was about to suplex him off the top rope, but Hornswoggle bit him on his thumb and Chavo fell on the canvas flat on his back.

"Then Hornswoggle finished him off with the Tadpole Splash to get the win.

"Chavo from now on will pick on somebody his own size, I hope."
My thoughts: Same here, but man, was that match hilarious!:D It reminded me of the days of Doink and his clown pal, Dink.
