Hope you all are having a great Valentine's Day! I love days like this, because I get to spread a lot of love to a lot of my favorite ladies. Now, here's another way I like to spread love: through a blog. Here is today's Smackdown Dirt Sheet!
"With No Way Out only a little over 24 hours away, 4 of the participants in the WWE Championship Elimination Chamber match battled in a fatal 4 way, and another made a historic comeback, but in the midst of it all, the WWE Champion found another way to come out and steal the thunder.
At the start of last night's Smackdown, the WWE Universe was disgraced by the appearance of the WWE Champion, Edge, and his dog face wife, Smackdown General Manager Vickie Guererro.
The Rated R Superstar was blaming his so-called neck injury that he claims to have sustained last week at the hands of, first, his Tag Team partner, the Big Show, when he gave him the Knock Out Punch, followed by the Tombstone he got from the Undertaker.
The Smackdown General Manager wasted no time in announcing that she wasn't going to allow her husband to compete. However, after the Big Show interrupted them, and had an exchange of harsh words with the champion, Guererro put him in a Fatal 4 Way match with the Undertaker, Triple H, and the undefeated Vladmir Kozlov.
In the climax of the grueling back and forth contest with each man putting their finishing move on another, it was declared a no contest when Edge dove into the ring, and speared the World's Largest Athlete.
I will say this as far as the WWE Elimination Chamber match is concerned-- With Kozlov never being in a Chamber match before, and with the Undertaker, Big Show and Edge, each being in one chamber match, and I don't remember ever seeing Jeff Hardy in an Elimination Chamber match before, and with Triple H being in 6 Elimination Chamber matches before, this could come down to experience against brutality, with the final 2 being Triple H and Vladimir Kozlov. The Game with experience, and Kozlov with brutality."
My thoughts: Those are definently some pretty good predictions. The Game and the Moscow Mauler would definently be two pretty good picks to the end, and you know what, I would be so surprised if the Moscow Mauler can be able to keep his winning streak intact walking out of the Chamber this Sunday.
"Speaking of Jeff Hardy, he made his return last night on Smackdown since being betrayed by his brother. Even though he addressed the WWE Universe as to what happened to him in recent weeks, he plans to look forward, and is 100% focused, and is looking forward to this Sunday at No Way Out.
Based on what Matt was saying 2 weeks ago, and based on what Jeff was saying last night, could the WWE be building this brotherly feud to be a more emotional one than the Bret Hart/Owen Hart feud back in 1994? Less emotional, or just as emotional, we would have to see in the weeks ahead."
My thoughts: One thing's for sure, if we do see a Hardy vs. Hardy feud, I definently think we could be in for another instant classic of a match. My prediction is possibly a brother vs. brother match at Wrestlemania 25, that may definently trump the Bret/Owen Hart match at Wrestlemania 10.
To prove why that I'm not all that crazy about Valentine's Day this year, the oh-so beautiful Bella Twins received flowers for Valentine's Day, but not from Carilto and Primo, but from the Miz and John Morrison. This prompted another match between these 2 Tag Team Champions, in which the winner gets to take out the Bella Twins on Valentine's Day.
With the referee distracted, Miz threw Primo from the top rope, allowing Morrison to nail Primo with the Moonlight Drive to get the win, and the date with the Bella Twins.
We have seen this in the WWE over the years, with a Diva reluctantly going out with someone that they are not all that crazy about, and next thing you know, they end up a couple. That gets old real fast.
Quick heads up while we are talking about Tag Teams, the WWE this fall is releasing a DVD on the Greatest Tag Teams of All Time. Don't be surprised to see these Tag Teams on the DVD:
The Miz and John Morrison
Nikolai Volkoff and The Iron Sheik
Greg ''the Hammer'' Valentine and Brutus Beefacke
Demolition
The Killer Bees
Mike Rotundo and Barry Windham
Degeneration X
New Age Outlaws
The Wild Samoans
The Rockers
Legion of Doom
Strike Force
The Hart Foundation
The Nasty Boys
The British Bulldogs
And so many others- I read about this on Wrestling-Radio.com."
My thoughts: Ah, good old Wrestlingradio.com to catch up on the stories. For the Bella Twins, I just hope they stick with the Colons, because you know, I think seeing the Bella Twins as heels would be quite unsettling for me, but then again, that's just me.
"Vickie Guererro's gopher'd nephew, Chavo Guererro, saw action against MVP, who was out for some payback when Chavo eliminated him in last week's Battle Royal. The Franchise Playa was on verge of getting a pinfall over the former ECW Champion, until the United States Champion, Shelton Benjamin came from nowhere and nailed MVP with some Paydirt, getting revenge after losing to MVP in a non-title match last week, giving MVP the win by disqualification.
To add insult to injury, Chavo Guererro nails MVP with his Frog Splash raising his own arms in victory."
My thoughts: I knew that the MVP/Shelton Benjamin feud would last into No Way Out. It seems as though after No Way Out, a United States title match between MVP and the Gold Standard could be in the cards. If not, this feud carries into the 5th annual Money in the Bank ladder match.
"R-Truth saw action last night against the stooge in my opinion of the Brian Kendrick, Ezekiel Jackson, who really gave him the onslaught during most of the match, but in the end, R-Truth ended Jackson's undefeated streak, when Jackson went for a move he calls the Ura-nage, and R-Truth reversed it to get the win."
My thoughts: I guess R-Truth showed big Zeke what's up, huh? Maybe next time, the Brian Kendrick will think twice before Kendrick sics Zeke on anyone like that again. I know I may have said it before, but I just like to tell it like it is.
I wanted to save the best for last, as former WWE Divas Champion, Michelle McCool took on Maria, who was out for payback, but McCool had every intention of continuing her vicious wrath upon Smackdown Divas, as she was going to work on Maria's ankle that she injured during the match.
However, after her first loss last week to McCool, Eve Torres charged down to the ring to help Maria in every which way possible. The former WWE Divas Champion all of a sudden started bullying her, but Eve wasn't going to back down. However, this created a distraction when Eve was thrown into the ring by McCool.
This allowed Maria to roll up the former WWE Divas Champion for the 3 count.
Maria may have this battle, but this war is far from being over, I have a feeling."
My thoughts: Michelle McCool and Maria just may have one of the most incredible rivalries of 2009. I say that the Glamazon and Melina's rivalry may just be second best to Maria and McCool, because of the history between these two, as to them being friends.
Well, this edition of the Dirt Sheet is wrapped up, but I'll be back early tomorrow with the Top 50 Countdown!:D
