I'm posting this at both my Myspace and WWE Universe blogs & a bulletin/shout out to save time & finger-typing energy, lol.
Okay, yesterday I actually got some potentially good news on my doctor's visit.
Originally, my oncologist referred me to this new doctor just to have an ultrasound done to determine whether I need surgery & then what treatment options to use. Well, I didn't get the ultrasound done because this doctor said he only does them on Thursdays. But I got set up to have on on January 29 to see what's up. Anyway, he looked over the records and labs that my oncologist faxed to him. Now, I'll explain this the best I can because this totally went over my head, lol, I still don't completely understand it. Anyway, he said something to the effect that when a TSH is high that he doesn't think that cancer would be present. Why, I can't remember, lol. I'm not good at retaining information when I'm handed a big bunch of it, LOL. Anyway, long & confusing story short, he seems very sure that my cancer isn't back! I mean, he did say that he can not say 100% for sure of course, he wants to see how my ultrasound goes first, but he seems pretty confidant. He worked at San Antonio for quite a while and is said to be a VERY good doctor. He is basically a thyroid cancer specialist, so he knows his stuff. However, even if it isn't a return of cancer, my levels are ENTIRELY too high, which I'm sure he'll treat me to get it down. He actually said that I shouldn't have been referred to an oncologist in the first place & that I had been treated incorrectly when the cancer returned the first time. Actually, it may have not even been a return of the cancer back a year ago! Which means I did that treatment and was quarantined all for nothing. My levels may have just been too high, making my oncologist think it was back. (I'm now questioning her expertise a bit). Anyway, he seems to think that if I don't need surgery, that working with my dosage of Synthroid should do the trick. He said that it looked as if I may have still had a chunk of thyroid that had not been removed with my surgeries over three years ago. Sorry if this has been choppy and confusing, lol, it was confusing to me as well. And as I said I'm lousy at retaining info and even worse at repeating it.
Here's hoping it gets under control!
Thanks for all prayers & support!
