Hello friends! Welcome to the first edition of Honor The Fallen. This month, I feature the Rabid Wolverine, Chris Benoit.
Chris Benoit was born May 21, 1967 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Like many of the Hart family, Benoit was trained by Stu Hart in the Hart Family Dungeon. Growing up, he idolized Dynamite Kid, and later on in his career, he based his wrestling style on Kid's. Benoit made his wrestling debut in 1986 in the Stampede Wrestling promotion in Canada.
He also trained in the New Japan Dojo, and later went on to work for New Japan Pro Wrestling in 1987. He wrestled under a mask, and called himself Pegasus Kid. Benoit participated in the "Best of Super Junior" tournaments from 1991-1996. Around this time, Benoit also worked for WCW.
Then in 1994-1995, ECW brought in Benoit, along with fellow Super Juniors Eddie Guerrero and Dean Malenko. Benoit and Malenko held the ECW tag team titles for a few months in 1995. He was a member of the Four Horsemen, always involved in battles with Kevin Sullivan. Chris never won any titles in WCW, partly because Chris had married Sullivan's ex-wife Nancy. She and Chris got married and had a son, Daniel.
Benoit, Guerrero, and Malenko got their releases from WCW in mid-1999, and went to work for the WWF. They, along with Saturn, were introduced as a group called The Radicalz.
In the WWE, Chris traveled with Eddie and Dean. They were so inseperable, they were dubbed the Three Amigos.
Chris Benoit faced Shawn Michaels and Triple H at Wrestlemania XX in 2004 for the World Heavyweight championship and won. After the match, his friend Eddie Guerrero came into the ring to celebrate with him.

Just when things had gotten so great and enjoyable, a tragedy happened. On November 13, 2005, Benoit's long time friend Eddie Guerrero passed away. Needless to say, Benoit was heartbroken. Only two of the Three Amigos remained.

Then, just two years after one of his best friend's death, tragedy struck once more. Chris Benoit passed away June 25, 2007. Only one of the Three Amigos now remains.
Chris Benoit was a great wrestler, a wonderful father, a devoted husband, and a loyal friend. It is sad that such a wonderful person's life had to end so quickly. Chris Benoit will never die, as long as his memory is honored and we remember him in our hearts.
