    YOU'VE BEEN SMACKED 9/19/08

Saturday, September 20, 2008, 12:45 PM EST [General]

The blue brand this week followed Raw and made some history of it's own. We saw the very 1st Diva's Championship match on Smackdown as Michelle McCool defend the Title against Maryse in a Unforgiven rematch. Now I 1st have to agree with J.R. and go one step farther when he stated that Michelle McCool has evevoled well so has Maryse these 2 get better and better each and everyweek. Maryse really took control at the begining and seemed hungry for the Diva's Title. Michelle just walked literally on Maryse back and what a outstanding low dropkick by Michelle she seems to be getting cat like reflexes. And Maryse with that rolling Camel clutch is just sweet. But it's Michelle picking up the win and retaining her title on a move J.R. called "Wings of Love". Very impressive move if you did not see last night's broadcast.

Vicky and Big Show in the G.M. office and Eve walks in asking Vicky a series of questions about the Undertaker. Eve asked "Do you think the Undertaker is here tonight and do you think he wants retrobution for you 2 did to him at Unforgiven." Vicky got mad and wanted to know what else Eve wanted and Eve surprised me by saying she had been training to get in the ring to compete. Big Show just laughed and showed us a video of him beating up on the Undertaker at Unforgiven. I think Big show has no clue what he is doing?

Jesse vs. Ryan Bradrock: Jesse and festus again this week came out in the moving mode they are really ready for this move on October 3rd. And i have to admit I never get tired of the bell thing and festus it is hiliourious.Festus pretty much had this match won from the begining but it's the Jesse and Festus my moving company taping up Bradrock and leaving with him on the dolly. And yes kid's the bell did ring this week!!!

Vicky and Big Show in the back again talking about making the Undertaker getting on his knees and apologing to them and the video plays again.......

Shelton Benjamin vs. R-Truth: Ok here is a thought how about we make R-Truth a heel with this rap thing because I don't think he is not getting over any better than K-quick did. Real wrestling fans always remember WWE. But I have to say R-Truth was tested this week by the U.S. Champion. I thought R-Truth hitting his 360 spinning forearm too early in this match. but he gave shelton a ran from his money. Shelton came back with a vicious clothesline to Truth. These 2 just went face to face punch for punch kick for kick. But ii was R-Truth with a surprise German Suplex and pin to pick up the stunning victory ovet the Gold standard.

Jeff Hardy vs The Brian Kendrick: Jeff comes out and says he's been with the WWE off and on for the last 10 years. His journey has not been a smooth one but HHH you have me really fired up."At No Mercy I will take your WWE Title". Jeff was attempting to adress the Koslov situation from last week but the Brian Kendrick came out and said "You have to worry about the The Brian Kendrick because tonight it's one on one" Jeff just takes The Brain Kendrick to school. Jeff is really showing why he earned the #1 contenders spot. But Kendrick comes back with a huge clothesline and seems to like the half crab as he had it applied to Jeff a few times during this match. But Jeff surprises everyone with a very interesting roll up pin and gets the Win. But as Jeff is on the ramp celebrating out of nowhwhere for the second week in a row Koslov comes out and just destory's Jeff.

Vicky and The Big Show in the back again. Show is having a fit because the Undertaker has just showed up!! And Vicky just full of her self without even a worry starts saying that Undertaker will kiss my feet!!! But we find out that it was Chavo pretending to be The Deadman and it was all voice over work. All I can say is Chavo your a Dead man!!!! And then The Big Show once again shows the video!! Burn the damn thing already!!!

Yes, The return of Carlito's Cabana: The brothers Colon are very funny together as Primo was the guest. Primo kept stealing Carlito's line and Carlito was taking exception to it lol. Hawkins & Ryder come out and The Colon brothers act like they don't remember who they are? Carlito and Primo offered a challenge to the champions for a title match and they will get it next week. But it was Jesse and Festus coming out to move Carlito's Cabana out and Primo rang the bell and all hell broke loose as the tag champions were attacked from the brother Colon. My early prediction The Colon Brothers wiil be Tag Team Champions.

Looks like next week we will have a Diva's Tag match Maria & Brie vs. Natyla & Victoria as these 2 have promise to expose the Bella twins for everyone to see!!! And yes if you already don't know, now you know I said TWINS!!!!!

Scotty Golman vs The Great Kahli: let's cut to the chase here it's Kahli picking up the win and finally Kahli will next week will go one on one with Koslov about time both men got some real competition.

Lafamila in the back Hawkins & Ryder talking about next week Tag Team Title match and everyone except Chavo leaves as Chavo watches that Video again but this time after the video we see a snipet of the Undertaker and as Chavo turns around to leave Underetaker just starts chocking Chavo. One down 2 to go.

HHH vs. MVP: MVP in this one had nothing to loose and everything to gain. This one was really well paced as both men were trying not to make any mistakes for the other to capitalize on. At one point HHH mocks MVP and that starts to frustrate MVP and takes him off his game plan. MVP got back in to it with working on HHH arms and his mid section. HHH comes back with a facebuster. I have to hand it to the ring general HHH he made MVP look good throughout this match. HHH unleashed a series of high impact moves a AA spinebuster then the pedigree and picks up the win over MVP. But 2 things here #1 this match should take MVP to the next level and in my view should be facing the winner of the No Mercy Championship match #2 Raw I believe you have just been put on notice Smackdown is looking to become the Flagship show of the WWE. But we get a another visit from Koslov as The Game is celebrating his victory. HHH even taunts him to get in the ring. But as Koslov gets in the ring MVP takes the cheap shot at HHH and Koslov with that Big Headbutt takes HHH down. As Koslov is standing over HHH keep in mind The Moscow Mauler in 1 night took out the #1 contender Jeff Hardy and HHH. No Mercy is starting to look interesting.

Until next week YOU'VE JUST BEEN SMACKED!!!

    ECW ROUGH CUT 9/16/08

Thursday, September 18, 2008, 02:48 PM EST [General]

What's up with putting the Champions on 1st!!! Matt Hardy vs. Mike Knox: This was a ok match. I feel that Knox had a hard time selling Matt's move. Especially the bulldog. And the next time they want to bring up ex ECW Champions please add more than Tommy Dreamer and Mr. McMahon. Knox had a very impressive dropkick to Matt at one point. But Matt hits the twist of fate and gets his 1st singles victory since becoming ECW Champion.

Mark and Tony in the back talking about Matt never pinned him to be champion.Mark will get his Rematch at No Mercy.

The Miz vs. Evan Bourne: Ricky Ortiz was in Evan's corner. Bourne was all over The Miz from the start. And I wish the Ref would stop getting in the way and leting the superstars go. Miz really got the assist by the Ref getting involved. Miz had a vicious clothesline on Bourne. Evan and that standing moonsalt is just wicked everytime. But it's Evan with the roll up pin and the win.

Jack Swagger vs. Chase Stevens: The All American American looked great once again and Stevens showed no offense or defense in this one it's Swagger with the Thunder bolt bomb and goes 2-0 in ECW.

Finlay vs. Mark Henry: Mark was just descimating Finlay from the get go. That bearhug that Henry possess should realastically stop anyone and Henry applied that twice onto Finlay. Even Finlay himself had to ask the Ref to "Stay out of his way" Henry did an attempt to attack Hornswoggle but Finlay stoped that from happening. Finlay uses the Selieighly and uses it on Mark's left arm and Finlay started working feverishly on that left arm. Henry would get Finlay back into the bearhug and hit the World's Largest Slam and picks up the win..... Matt better be ready come No Mercy. Henry is playing for keeps.

Until next week you've been CUT!!!!!

    RAW UNCOOKED AND UNCENSORED 9/15/08

Thursday, September 18, 2008, 11:51 AM EST [General]

Raw this week was well I don't know odd!!! For the 1st time in Raw history it opened with a steel cage match for the WHC. And as The King stated at the begining "If there is a back door Jericho will find it. " But I question this match up being 1st and I will give you my explanation at the end of this blog. Jericho made a very early attempt to leave the cage but CM Punk stops him. Punk still looked a little taken back from the punt to the head from Orton at Unforgiven? Jericho had Punk in the Walls Of Jericho which felt like a lifetime but Punk slide his way to the door and attempted to leave the cage but he was one leg shy as Jericho stopped him from escaping. CM Punk even at one point attempted a GTS off of the top turmbuckle but Jericho escapes that as well. CM Punk makes his way to the door to escape but Chris just crawls right over Punk and the 2 start fighting at the door as the Ref as the door wide open and it's Jericho and Punk butting heads and Jericho lucks out and fall backwards to the door and gets the WIN!!! What a crock!!!!!!

Kelly Kelly or K-2 is what Mike Adamle called her are in the back talking about No Mercy and a new face comes up and introduces himself his name is Doulph Zegller. Then Jericho comes up and Mike congradulates Chris and tells him to get ready for No Mercy as he will be defending the WHC! Chris starts crying about how he is too valuable to Raw and he has taken so much to get to this point as Chris is telling Mike he has a idea the 2 walk back to Adamle's office to continue their talk.

Kane in the back talking about "I was forced to unmask" but he did to be accepted and that didn't happen either. "People point and ridicule me and the feeling for you people is mutal" "I was attacking each and everyone of you when I attacked Rey" Then out of nowhere Evan Bourne comes up and starts talking about how Rey is couregeous and made it possible for someone like him to make it in the WWE.

Candice vs. Jillian: As Candice walked out Beth was right behind her on the ramp. Jillian had a very impressive full nelson on Candice. And what was that 1st dropkick from Candice supposed to be wow!!! But it's Candice picking up the win with a move that looks like the unprittier it's called "The Candy Wrapper" Beth attempts to get in the ring as Candice is taunting her to come on in and Candice hits the dropkick right this time and dropkicks Beth right off the appron.

JBL vs. Tommy Dreamer: Ok WWE if you are going to keep having Tommy job all the time just let him go his leagacy deserves better than this. And yes it's JBL with the clothesline from hell to pick up the win. But JBL asked for the microphone and wouldn't leave untill Adamle made him the new #1 contender for No Mercy? Then Randy Orton comes out "A few weeks ago I gave my assements of all the Champions here on Raw and I was not Impressed,JBL your not much of an improvement" Randy even uses the word"Creditablity" Then Santino and Beth make their way down to the ring Santino had this comment to Randy "Who do you think you are Randy Orton, you insulted me and The Glamazon unlike you we are Champions, unlike you we are healthy, your always injured like your daddy how long did he have that cast on like 6 years."My Papa is always healthy, sure he had the Herpes but he manged it very well, now pologize to me" This is the kind of writing that makes Santino a loveable heel. Then Batista comes out and adds his 2 cents to all this "Now before I beat the the hell out of all of you" Batista wants to fight JBL to determine the #1 contenders spot for No Mercy. Mike Adamle appears on the Hi-Def Tron and says he will take it all under consideration and have his announcement at the end of the show. Batista then attacks JBL and Santino tries to take a cheap shot on the animal. But it ends up being Batista and Beth with the stare down. Beth slaps him twice and Batista spinbusters Beth right onto Santino face (ouch)

Rhodes/DiBiase/Manu vs. The King/Kofi/JH Jim Hass: Hass was funny again this week as good ol JR with the JR bbq sauce cheap pop!!! Manu was just dominating Kofi at the start of this match. J.H. Ross went and did a little annoucing good ol JH even used the old Oklahoma Stampede finisher but it was DiBiase with the combination Million Dollar Dream into a leg sweep to pick up the win.

JBL and Jericho in the locker room. JBL saying that "just like wall street crashing so are you Chris, Mike trust me more than you"

Jamie Noble vs. Paul Burchill: Poor Jamie looked so heart broken this week. But this week he got to see that old pitbull come back and with the arm bar submission move from Noble he picks up the very much needed and impressive win. But Layla and Regal have to come out and rub more salt into Jamie's wound. Regal saying that "It wasn't Noble she was looking for it was Noblity". This one keeps getting better and better.

Rey vs. Kane: Rey kept Kane down for a litle bit. But it was Kane with total dominance throwing Rey out of the ring and a one arm slam. Everytime Kane would swat Rey away Rey kept coming back. Rey then started working on the knees and legs of the Big Red Machine. Rey even got in a very impressive Inserguri kick. But it was Kane with the thunderous clothesline and the brutal and unmerciful kicking on Rey that the Ref had to stop this match. Evan Bourne comes down to help out Rey and both men lead a very high impact ariel asault on Kane.

Jericho then comes out all nice and clean thanking Mike Adamle for taking his advice. Chris suggested that Batista and JBL have a match at No Mercy and the winner of that match would go on later that night to fight Chris for the Title. Then Mike came out and said that both men will fight at NO Mercy and it will be a #1 contenders match but the winner would get the title match at a later date. Mike was approached from someone else that had a idea for a match that he couldn't pass up. And as we would find out it was HBK who had a Ladder match idea for No Mercy. So it's Jericho and HBK in a ladder match at No Mercy. Hey WWE let HBK walk away with the championship this time he has more than earned this one.

So I was looking at the ratings for Raw yesterday and i found something interesting!!! This is the 1st Raw in a very long time not to get a 3.0 rating. The higthest rated segment was at 10:15 with a 2.9 rating. So yes I am questing the reasoning of putting your steel cage Championship on 1st when it should have been the main event. I am betting that everyone thought that the cage match was going to be the main event and when they tunned in a liitle later after the show had started and found out they had missed the Cage match it meant nothing to them and watched something else.... Hey WWE it's called a bulid up that's how you keep viewers for the 2 hours by putting that cage match up as colleteral for keeping them to watch. It would have been better if The cage match would have been last. Here Jericho just went throught hell with CM Punk and narrowly escaping with the title and HBK comes out with the ladder match idea Jericho could have sold that so much better with the look on his face and it would have had more meaning to this feud and the viwers would have been there. And what is up with putting the World Champions on 1st Jericho on Monday and Matt on Tuesday. What about buliding your show around the Champions you always did with Hogan,Hart,HBK,Austin, and The Rock. Am not saying that the whole show should be bulit around them but a good part of it should be. And the sad part here is this show should have gotten a 3.0 they had this show bulit up for a week ahead of time.

Untill next week if it's not cooked it's Raw!!!!

    YOU'VE BEEN SMACKED 9/12/08

Thursday, September 18, 2008, 09:38 AM EST [General]

The blue brand started offf with The WWE Champion HHH he was the only champion at Unforgiven to retain or get back his title in the 20 minutes. As The Game was explaning to everyone that he had "Once Again Found A Way To Once Again Win" Jeff Hardy came out and man did HHH look disgusted or what? HHH made serveral references to Jeff always being seconds away from everything in his life and that he always needed his brother Matt to guide him. Then what I  thought was a bold move from Jeff he had these words for the champion. "Maybe I never had the Cliq or maybe I never had DX, Or maybe I never had the Family, because if I did I would have what you have" The main event was a fatal 4 way match to determine the #1 contender for No Mercy. IT was Mvp,JeffHardy,Shelton Benjamin,The Brian Kendrick. But as the night progressed HHH would get into the heads of the other 3 challengers the same way he did to Jeff but I believe that HHH seems a little concerned about Jeff being his opponet at No Mercy.

6 Diva tag match: Maryse,Natyla,Victoria vs. Michelle,Maria,Brie Bella:   Some thoughts about this match up Maria really looked good this week,Brie just looks like she has done this forever, and Maryse is impressive with that roll up on the back into a camel clutch type move. And have you all gotten yet why Brie goes underneath the ring yet? If not maybe next week I will share with you why? But it is Brie once again with the brige pin on Victoria to win this one.

R-Truth this week once again the crowd did not get behind him with his rap to the ring. I have a question and yes I would love someone to answer this! Does anyone remember around 2000 and 2001 a wrestler named K-QUICK??? If you do please leave a comment on this blog!! Because I think I see a trend here. Anyway it's Chavo this week trying to show Bam how to take care of business Chavo actually hits the 3 Amagio's in this one I love that move. But it's R-truth picking up the win by DQ as Bam interferes but it seems that Chavo was a little upset Bam had interfered and a shoving match took place between the 2 Bam even said to Chavo "you don't lay a hand on me" But R-Truth takes care of both men with that spinning forearm move.

Festus vs. Kenny Dykstra: I love what they are doing with Kenny all Kenny wants is some respect and a chance to make a difference. But Kenny was smart this week and attacked festus before the bell rang. Now before I forget Jesse and Festus were dressed up like moving men. LOL!!! Remember moving day Oct.2nd and 3rd. But once the bell rang it was a different story as Festus just unloads on Kenny. Jesse and Festus ends up taping Kenny up putting him on the dolly and taking him to the back. Funny how the bell never rang or there wasn't a dq or countout or anything here........Odd.

Vicky and The Big Show explanied their actions at Unforgiven. They are the ultimate power couple Vicky had a problem with The Undertaker and as Show said Taker must follow the rules of the G.M. and that Taker is not doing that. And hell I don't think he should.. And that helping Vicky would get Show what he wants the WWE Title. Big Show is out to get that apology that Vicky is looking for from the Undertaker.

Valamir Koslov gets a 2 on 1 match this week against Funaki and Scotty Goldman let's cut to the chase here it Koslov with the win again this week as the Moscow Mauler is demanding a better challenge or he will find one himself.

Hawkins/Ryder vs Carlito/Primo: This match was just awesome!!! I want to see these 2 teams go at it for the WWE tag titles. The Brothers Colon looked spectaular. Hawkins&Ryder actually for once looked like champions going up against some real competiton. This was a very fast pased match up just back and forth but out of nowhere Carlito hits the Backstabber for the win. The Bothers Colon I  think would make great tag team champions.

The Fatal 4 Way Match to determine the #1 contender for No Mercy: Now before I forget again The Brian Kendrick kids is just plan genius. Earlier with HHH he clamied that he was "The longest reigning champion in scramble history" which he was. But as this match gets started he waits outside the ring and lets the other 3 go at it just a brilliant move. At one point I believe that HHH mind games might have worked on MVP and Shelton as they got rid of Jeff and just started lambbasting each other. And yes on ocassion The Brian Kendrick got in the ring every so often. And boy Jeff was taking it from all sides even from Big Zeke who slammed Jeff into the barrier at ring side. But Jeff got the double swanton bomb on Shelton Benjamin and The Brian Kendrick to get the win and gets another shot at that "Brass Ring" at No Mercy. But as Jeff is enjoying the victory Vladmir Koslov comes out and just lays waist to Jeff just leaving him lying on the mat. Could HHH have something to do with this or is Koslov trying to find his next Challenge?

Untill a couple of days from now YOU'VE JUST BEEN SMACKED!!!!!

    BRET HART: THE INTERCONTINETAL CHAMPION!!!!

Sunday, September 14, 2008, 03:29 PM EST [General]

Bret after losing the WWE tag team titles at Wrestlemania 7 decided to embark on a single career. It wasn't too long afterwards at SummerSlam 1991 Bret would get a shot at Mr.Perfect's I.C. Title. Now it was during this time we would come to find out why the "Hitman" was always wearing his trademark sunglasses. Bret at the beginning of his career was afraid of doing interviews and looking into the camera so they added the sunglasses and he just always wore them.

Hitman vs Perfect this match was just that "Perfect" in everyway. This was to me the very 1st Techinally sound match that was ever announced as that. These 2 master of the mat stole the show that night and brought meaning to the I.C. Title becoming "The Workhorse Title" But it was Bret showing us his new Finshing Submission move "The Sharpshooter" to get the win and become The New I.C. Champion. And Bret to me became" Mr.SummerSlam" as we will examine that in our next Bret Hart blog.

Bret would hold the I.C. Title till Janurary 17th,1992 losing it to the Mountie as Bret was wrestling with a high fever that night in Madison Square Garden. Bret would recapture the I.C. Title from Rowdy Roddy Piper at Wrestlemania 8 in another classic I.C. Title match. This match was a classic in itself for 2 reasons. 1. Both men let it all go that night and gave one of their best performances of their lives. 2. This match was also classic storytelling at it's best the way a match should be built around.

Bret then would defend the I.C.Title in July of 1992 in the 1st ever ladder match with HBK Shawn Micahels. Bret would go on to win but you could tell that this was not going to be the 1st or last time these 2 icons and arch rivals would ever meet.

Bret then would go onto SummerSlam 1992 to once again be the fightingest I.C Champions of all time and face off against his brother in law Davey Boy Smith at wimmbley stadium with 82,000 screaming fans in the main event the 1st and last time a I.C. Ttile match was ever the main event at a WWF/WWE pay-per-view event. Once again classic storytelling as it was booked as a "Family Affair" Bret sister and Davey Boy's Diana did not know which side to take and was torn from the beginning. This match like Bret's Wrestlemania 8 match with Piper was back and forth a lot of 2 counts in this one the Ref in this match i think at times was the one getting the most workout of anyone. But it would be Davey Boy Smith at 28:32 and using a surprise small package to get the win over The Hitman in this classic I.C. Title match. If you haven't seen this classic you need to.

But Bret was only 2 months away from his destiny and fulfilling a life long dream. In the next Bret Hart blog we will look in depth at Bret Hart the WWF Championship years.
