Raw this week was well I don't know odd!!! For the 1st time in Raw history it opened with a steel cage match for the WHC. And as The King stated at the begining "If there is a back door Jericho will find it. " But I question this match up being 1st and I will give you my explanation at the end of this blog. Jericho made a very early attempt to leave the cage but CM Punk stops him. Punk still looked a little taken back from the punt to the head from Orton at Unforgiven? Jericho had Punk in the Walls Of Jericho which felt like a lifetime but Punk slide his way to the door and attempted to leave the cage but he was one leg shy as Jericho stopped him from escaping. CM Punk even at one point attempted a GTS off of the top turmbuckle but Jericho escapes that as well. CM Punk makes his way to the door to escape but Chris just crawls right over Punk and the 2 start fighting at the door as the Ref as the door wide open and it's Jericho and Punk butting heads and Jericho lucks out and fall backwards to the door and gets the WIN!!! What a crock!!!!!!
Kelly Kelly or K-2 is what Mike Adamle called her are in the back talking about No Mercy and a new face comes up and introduces himself his name is Doulph Zegller. Then Jericho comes up and Mike congradulates Chris and tells him to get ready for No Mercy as he will be defending the WHC! Chris starts crying about how he is too valuable to Raw and he has taken so much to get to this point as Chris is telling Mike he has a idea the 2 walk back to Adamle's office to continue their talk.
Kane in the back talking about "I was forced to unmask" but he did to be accepted and that didn't happen either. "People point and ridicule me and the feeling for you people is mutal" "I was attacking each and everyone of you when I attacked Rey" Then out of nowhere Evan Bourne comes up and starts talking about how Rey is couregeous and made it possible for someone like him to make it in the WWE.
Candice vs. Jillian: As Candice walked out Beth was right behind her on the ramp. Jillian had a very impressive full nelson on Candice. And what was that 1st dropkick from Candice supposed to be wow!!! But it's Candice picking up the win with a move that looks like the unprittier it's called "The Candy Wrapper" Beth attempts to get in the ring as Candice is taunting her to come on in and Candice hits the dropkick right this time and dropkicks Beth right off the appron.
JBL vs. Tommy Dreamer: Ok WWE if you are going to keep having Tommy job all the time just let him go his leagacy deserves better than this. And yes it's JBL with the clothesline from hell to pick up the win. But JBL asked for the microphone and wouldn't leave untill Adamle made him the new #1 contender for No Mercy? Then Randy Orton comes out "A few weeks ago I gave my assements of all the Champions here on Raw and I was not Impressed,JBL your not much of an improvement" Randy even uses the word"Creditablity" Then Santino and Beth make their way down to the ring Santino had this comment to Randy "Who do you think you are Randy Orton, you insulted me and The Glamazon unlike you we are Champions, unlike you we are healthy, your always injured like your daddy how long did he have that cast on like 6 years."My Papa is always healthy, sure he had the Herpes but he manged it very well, now pologize to me" This is the kind of writing that makes Santino a loveable heel. Then Batista comes out and adds his 2 cents to all this "Now before I beat the the hell out of all of you" Batista wants to fight JBL to determine the #1 contenders spot for No Mercy. Mike Adamle appears on the Hi-Def Tron and says he will take it all under consideration and have his announcement at the end of the show. Batista then attacks JBL and Santino tries to take a cheap shot on the animal. But it ends up being Batista and Beth with the stare down. Beth slaps him twice and Batista spinbusters Beth right onto Santino face (ouch)
Rhodes/DiBiase/Manu vs. The King/Kofi/JH Jim Hass: Hass was funny again this week as good ol JR with the JR bbq sauce cheap pop!!! Manu was just dominating Kofi at the start of this match. J.H. Ross went and did a little annoucing good ol JH even used the old Oklahoma Stampede finisher but it was DiBiase with the combination Million Dollar Dream into a leg sweep to pick up the win.
JBL and Jericho in the locker room. JBL saying that "just like wall street crashing so are you Chris, Mike trust me more than you"
Jamie Noble vs. Paul Burchill: Poor Jamie looked so heart broken this week. But this week he got to see that old pitbull come back and with the arm bar submission move from Noble he picks up the very much needed and impressive win. But Layla and Regal have to come out and rub more salt into Jamie's wound. Regal saying that "It wasn't Noble she was looking for it was Noblity". This one keeps getting better and better.
Rey vs. Kane: Rey kept Kane down for a litle bit. But it was Kane with total dominance throwing Rey out of the ring and a one arm slam. Everytime Kane would swat Rey away Rey kept coming back. Rey then started working on the knees and legs of the Big Red Machine. Rey even got in a very impressive Inserguri kick. But it was Kane with the thunderous clothesline and the brutal and unmerciful kicking on Rey that the Ref had to stop this match. Evan Bourne comes down to help out Rey and both men lead a very high impact ariel asault on Kane.
Jericho then comes out all nice and clean thanking Mike Adamle for taking his advice. Chris suggested that Batista and JBL have a match at No Mercy and the winner of that match would go on later that night to fight Chris for the Title. Then Mike came out and said that both men will fight at NO Mercy and it will be a #1 contenders match but the winner would get the title match at a later date. Mike was approached from someone else that had a idea for a match that he couldn't pass up. And as we would find out it was HBK who had a Ladder match idea for No Mercy. So it's Jericho and HBK in a ladder match at No Mercy. Hey WWE let HBK walk away with the championship this time he has more than earned this one.
So I was looking at the ratings for Raw yesterday and i found something interesting!!! This is the 1st Raw in a very long time not to get a 3.0 rating. The higthest rated segment was at 10:15 with a 2.9 rating. So yes I am questing the reasoning of putting your steel cage Championship on 1st when it should have been the main event. I am betting that everyone thought that the cage match was going to be the main event and when they tunned in a liitle later after the show had started and found out they had missed the Cage match it meant nothing to them and watched something else.... Hey WWE it's called a bulid up that's how you keep viewers for the 2 hours by putting that cage match up as colleteral for keeping them to watch. It would have been better if The cage match would have been last. Here Jericho just went throught hell with CM Punk and narrowly escaping with the title and HBK comes out with the ladder match idea Jericho could have sold that so much better with the look on his face and it would have had more meaning to this feud and the viwers would have been there. And what is up with putting the World Champions on 1st Jericho on Monday and Matt on Tuesday. What about buliding your show around the Champions you always did with Hogan,Hart,HBK,Austin, and The Rock. Am not saying that the whole show should be bulit around them but a good part of it should be. And the sad part here is this show should have gotten a 3.0 they had this show bulit up for a week ahead of time.
Untill next week if it's not cooked it's Raw!!!!

I agree with your last part of your blog that said "What about buliding your show around the Champions you always did with Hogan,Hart,HBK,Austin, and The Rock." EXACTLY. I miss the good old days. The Attitude Era. The best part of RAW was the promo with RKO/Batista/JBL, etc. As always, another great blog. TTYL amigo -- Cheryle
