Bret Sergeant Hart was born July 2,1957. son of Helen and Stu Hart. Bret was born into the family business. His 7 brothers were either wrestlers or involved backstage with the family business.

Bret at the age of 19 started working for his father's promotion Stampede wrestling in Calgary. His father was even his manager for a time. Bret began by refrereeing matches but 1 night was asked to step in and wrestle. His very 1st match was in Saskatoon,Saskatchewan.

He would team up with his brother Keith to be 4 times Tag Team Champions. Bret would go on to gain some more experience from Mr.Hito and Mr.Sakurada,Later he would praise them as his most significant influences in the businees. When asked Bret would faithfully "Jobbed" as he knew that was an important part of being a great in ring performer.

Bret would go onto win Stampede wrestling top prizes. 2 British commonwealth mid-heavyweight championships,5 International tag team titles,and 6 Northamerican heavyweight titles.
