is the official date set for WrestleMania XXV (25), which Houston Texas will host. Now this upcoming 'Mania is possibly the biggest WrestleMania in the history of the WWE and that leaves me with one question...

**WHO DO YOU THINK WILL BE INDUCTED INTO THE 2009 WWE HALL OF FAME???**

Could it be the Texas native, the Rattlesnake Stone Cold? Or maybe the King of Harts Owen Hart? What about L.O.D., Arn Anderson, Rick Rude, British Bulldog, The Rock??? Or possibly even the man that is 16-0 at the "Grandaddy of Them All" The Deadman, The Undertaker?!?!

I guess we'll all find out on April 4, 2009, but until then please feel free to post your predicitions and tell me who you would like to see in the 2009 WWE Hall of Fame!

SmackDown Recap...

Jeff Hardy's music hit to kick off the August 1, 2008 Edition of Friday Night SmackDown. Hardy headed the the ring and grabbed a chair and placed it in front of the announce table to watch the opening contest between MVP and Jimmy Wang Yang. MVP DEF. JIMMY WANG YANG. After the bell, Jeff went into the ring to confront MVP. He told MVP that he better not ever speak about his personal life again. MVP then turned to give Jeff a sucker punch but Jeff caught him with the Twist of Fate.

The first segment featured Chavo, Bam Neely and Vickie Guerrero. During the segment as the trio headed into Vickie's office they saw Alicia (the wedding planner).

MR. KENNEDY DEFEATED The United States Champion SHELTON BENJAMIN in a non-title match. After the match Shelton was interviewed by Eve and Shelton said he lost because he was suffering from an acute case of bronchitis.

The next segment had Hawkins and Ryder and Chavo Guerrero. Chavo asked the tag team champions who Edge's surprise guest was on the Cutting Edge. They said they didn't know and Chavo told them they needed to find out ASAP.

BRIAN KENDRICK w/ EZEKIEL DEF. STEVIE RICHARDS. After the match Ezekiel attacked Stevie Richards. **NOTE** JUSTIN ROBERTS ANNOUNCED BRIAN KENDRICK AS "THE BRIAN KENDRICK".

Khali vs. Jeff Hardy was up next. MVP got involved costing the Unique Enigma Jeff Hardy the match and aiding Khali to victory.

Another promo for Ron Killings (now known as R-Truth) aired.

The long awaited SmackDown debut of Maria was up next. MARIA DEFEATED VICTORIA.

Edge and Alicia were seen backstage. Edge said that he got her tickets so she could see the Cutting Edge up close and personal.

A video for HHH was shown highlighting his awesome career.

BIG SHOW DEF. DOMINO

The Cutting Edge was up next to close the show. Edge hit the ring and inside the ring with him was tables, ladders and chairs. He then announced his mystery guest to be Mick Foley. Toward the end of the segment Edge beat down Foley and then grabbed a table and placed it in front of the standing ladder. Edge placed Foley onto the table and grabbed a chair and began climbing the ladder. He jumped off the ladder with the chair and came crashing down on Mick Foley putting him through the table to end the segment and the show.

**REMINDER** SATURDAY NIGHT'S MAIN EVENT IS ON TOMORROW AT 9PM ON NBC! 

On July 28, 2008 Paul Levesque and Stephanie McMahon welcomed their second daughter, Murphy Claire.

**NOTE** Triple H celebrated his 39th birthday just a day prior to the birth on July 27th.

I would like 2 say i am so glad The Game Triple H got off RAW in the draft because now "to restore order" on RAW the new General Manager is Mike Adamle. best known for his controversial announcing on ECW Adamle is back where he started in the WWE on RAW. Why would they make him GM??? and better yet since hes now GM is Joey Styles going back to ECW???

The July 25, 2008 Edition of Friday Night SmackDown officially kicked off with MVP's V.I.P. Lounge. He introduced his guest as possibly the most controversial superstar he's ever had for the segment... Jeff Hardy. The arena exploded as Jeff hit the ring. During the V.I.P. Lounge MVP mocked how Jeff Hardy got suspended for 60 days, how he lost the Intercontinental Championship, how his house (or trailer) as MVP called it burned down, and finally how Hardy's dog, Jack, died in the fire. MVP also called Jeff wreckless. This got Jeff pretty heated, as I would imagine this would anger just about anyone... So to conclude the segment Jeff shoved MVP out of the ring and the arrogant Montel Vontavious Porter walked away.

The NEW U.S. Champion Shelton Benjamin vs. Jimmy Wang Yang was the opening contest of the night. SHELTON BENJAMIN DEFEATED JIMMY WANG YANG in a fairly short match proving there Ain't No Stoppin' Him Now!!!

Edge was seen backstage in his locker room when the NEW WWE Tag Team Champions Hawkins & Ryder walked in. Edge apologized to them about his actions last week and Hawkins & Ryder told him they didn't need an explanation, but Vickie Guerrero might. Hawkins & Ryder then left for their match and Edge wished them good luck.

FESTUS w/ JESSE DEF. CURT HAWKINS w/ ZACK RYDER. After the final bell, Hawkins & Ryder threw Jesse into the ring post and the double-teamed Festus.

The next segment of the episode featured Edge. He was talking with the wedding planner, Alicia. During the segment Bam Neely saw Edge with the wedding planner.

VLADIMIR KOZLOV DEFEATED STEVIE RICHARDS

Next up was the Biggest Block Party of the Summer Battle Royal where the winner would go on to face Triple H at Summerslam for the WWE Championship. The first person eliminated in the match was MVP, then Umaga. Next eliminated was Mr. Kennedy, then Big Show. Finally, Khali eliminated Jeff Hardy to become the #1 Contender for the WWE title. After the match as Khali celebrated hs victory HHH's music hit and he came down to the ring to stare down his opponent, the 7'3'' Great Khali.

A promo for Ron Killings was shown.

The 1st Ever Diva's Champion Michelle McCool was in action next. MICHELLE DEF. MARYSE.

Vickie Guerrero finally arrived at the arena as Chavo wheeled her in. Neely joined the two and asked Chavo if he had told Vickie what Edge said. Chavo told a now curious Vickie it was nothing and that they would talk in her office.

A promo for Maria aired.

SmackDown returned from break with Edge talking to Bam Neely. Edge said that he needed to apologize to Vickie, but he needed to do it public.

Vickie & Chavo Guerrero were in Vickie's office when Bam Neely ran in and told Vickie Edge wanted to see her in the ring to publicly apologize.

Edge's music hit as he headed to the ring to get ready to apologize to his wife, Vickie Guerrero. After a few minutes of Edge talking Bam Neely, Chavo Guerrero, and Vickie Guerrero headed to the ring. Edge pleaded for Vickie's forgiveness and she said she understood him, but as they went to kiss Vickie pulled away and said Edge needed to understand that she had reinstated THE UNDERTAKER and at Summerslam it would be Edge facing Taker in a Hell in a Cell match.
