Happy Monday to all my friends and readers. Thanks for checking out my blog, it's always appreiciated. Anyway, I bought the PPV and couldn't wait to watch it for so many reasons. Mainly the Undertaker vs Edge match, which everyone was anticipating and knew would steal the show, which in my opinion, it did. After a comment from DEN, I've decided not to be as biased in my predicitions and blogs...I guess I just am lol. But WWE is all about showing your support and booing those you don't like, regardless of what others think, but that's for another blog! ;-)
Okay, here we go, kicking off the Biggest Blockbuster of the Summer!
The stage for the show was excellent. It was one of the best I've ever seen, and I hope the stage for Wrestlemania XXV is even bigger and better! This was certainly worthy of Mania. It had a very nice blockbuster theme, which was cool. I hope to see cool stages like this for every PPV, especially the big four. It looks even better in HD.
Jeff Hardy vs MVP: Grudge Match
Jeff got a huge pop, as always, and clearly the rumors of a broken neck are false. This was very entertaining, solid match, and the fans seemed really into it. Jeff could've scored the pin, but of course, like most of his matches over the past few weeks, there was an interference from none other than the US Champion, Shelton Benjamin, who was sporting jeans and some kind of freaky Hawiian Shirt. Lol but enough of his outfit, what the hell was he doing here?! I mean, sure Shelton and Jeff have been in two matches before, but what does Shelton have against him? Jeff didn't beat him because of a distraction. I think MVP and Shelton would make a great tag team. Gold 'n' Ballin' lol. Half Gold, Half Ballin. I don't know, but expect big things from Shelton. Both Shelton and Jeff are worthy of main event status. Not so much MVP, but to his credit, he is an okay wrestler and can put on a good match. Jeff swantoned Shelton, but the distraction cost him the match after a huge kick from MVP. I guess that's MVP's finisher, which I never really knew. MVP got the three count and won, much to the disarry of the Indiana fans.
Winner via Pinfall: MVP

Then we had a short backstage interview with Maria, Santino and Beth. Santino talked about how Maria is nothing without him or something like that, and his and Beth's new nickname, Glamerella, which I kind of like. Maria seemed quite jealous or angry to be honest, but there will not feud since Maria is on Smackdown and Beth is on Raw, and I don't think it would've been good anyway.
Santino Marella and Beth Phoenix vs Kofi Kingston and Mickie James: Winner Takes All Match for the Women's Championship and IC Championship
This was fun match, and quite comedic in parts (When Kofi nearly jumped on Santino and he ran into Beth's arms) and Santino is always entertaining. Mickie was very good in this match, and her DDT to Santino was very nicely executed. It was mainly Beth and Mickie or Santino and Mickie. Kofi wasn't too involved, and Santino did more entertaning spots than wrestle, but overall it was a good match and fun to watch. I knew Santino and Beth would win, and as much as I love Mickie, her reign was getting boring. I liked Kofi as IC Champ though, because at least he was getting a good push. I was very shocked that WWE didn't do something to shock us, like make Beth, who scored the pin, to take both titles, or for Beth to be IC Champ and Santino to be Women's Champ, which a lot of people, like myself, predicted. But WWE shocked us by not shocking us, if you understand me. But it's not big deal, and Beth Phoenix is a very deserving champion, and could we see a possible Beth and Katie Lea feud? Katie Lea has always wanted gold since she joined Monday Night Raw, and that would certainly make for a great feud with some great matches. Also, at the end of the match, Beth managed to somehow get a 200-something pound man on her shoulders, which is championship material in it's own right!
Winners via Pinfall: Beth Phoenix and Santino Marella

There was a Hardy Boyz DVD commercial, and then Michael Cole mentioned that the Hardy Boyz idol was Shawn Michaels. Cue HBK's music and yes, you know what's coming.
Shawn Michaels' Announcement
HBK came out to a very big crowd pop, with his beautiful wife, Rebecca. HBK talked about his eye injury, as Rebecca started to swell up with tears. HBK had a smile on his face, so I assumed he wasn't going to retire. But of course, he did, and the fans were probably the loudest they were the entire night, and some were even crying. We all know he'll back soon. Y2J came out as HBK was thanking the fans, and began to ask HBK to admit that Chris Jericho was why he was retiring. HBK said he would sit his children down and tell them he wasn't wrestling because of a vile, selfish human being, and that Chris Jericho should sit his wife and kids down, and tell them he would never be Shawn Michaels. There was a staredown, and Rebecca seemed to be ushuring HBK to leave. Y2J attempted to punch HBK, but as I expected, he threw one at Rebecca. I was in shock, because it looked freakin painful. Y2J walked away, and looked as though he was about to cry. HBK was comforting his wife, and began to stare at Y2J. This was a truly awesome segment, and everyone involved was great. The crowd was in utter shock, and HBK was just fantastic. I think this could be a possible way of involving Rebecca in the company, like they did with Vickie Guerrero (RIP Eddie). I don't think it's a good idea, but it could happen. This obviously shows HBK will not be retiring and will come back to fight Y2J. It would great at Unforgiven, giving the name of the PPV.

Matt Hardy vs Mark Henry: ECW Championship Match
This was easily the worst match of the night. Not only would Matt not actually be able to Twist of Fate anyone that quickly, let alone Mark Henry, but it was all of 30 seconds long. And even if Matt did score the pin, the match would've plain sucked and just have been stupid, because Mark Henry simply can't fall that fast. Tony Atlas got an ass whoopin' from Jeff Hardy (Yay!) and Mark Henry got up and started beating Jeff (Booo!) but Matt and Jeff suplexed him and stood tall in the ring. As much as I love the Hardyz, that was a pretty damn suckish match and should've been a lot better. The match we saw wasn't even ECW worthy, and that's sayin' somethin'! But even if it was on ECW, it would've been better than at the second biggest PPV in the WWE. It will probably last till No Mercy time.
Winner via Disqualification: Matt Hardy
Match Rating: NO STARS.
Then we had a very nice promo for CM Punk and JBL, which got you in the mood for the next match.
CM Punk vs JBL: World Heavyweight Championship Match
This was a very, very good match. JBL was surprisingly okay in this match, but Punk managed to get back up. He had a legit head injury (which my brother pointed out to me when they showed the replay) in which CM Punk had do a spinning kick to JBL, landed on the mat, JBL fell at the same time and the banged heads. CM Punk's head was busted open and he was indeed bleeding. They had to end the match early, and CM Punk picked up the win after the GTS. Does he ever use the Anoconda Vise anymore? I guess not. But CM Punk is still champion and said 'I will bleed for this!' after his win. I watched the WWE.com exclusive on his injury tonight, and it looks worse than I expected.
Winner vis Pinfall: CM Punk

The next match I wasn't looking forward to. I'm pretty sick of Triple H's title reign, as much as I love Triple H, as he's one of my all time favourites. But if it's against Khali, anyone will do.
Triple H vs The Great Khali: WWE Championship Match
The build up to this match wasn't very good, but it was an okay match with a few good moments. I was pretty bored by it, and talked to my brother about how terrible Khali is through most of it. But I will not be biased, in saying that he was carried okay in this match, but I've seen better (by better I mean, okay) matches from him. Khali tried the Vise Grip several times, but Triple H got out of it, and hit him with a very sloppy Pedigree. It had to be one of the worst ever, but I can't blame the guy, he's trying to Pedigree a 7'3, 430 pound freak. Not an easy task. Triple H scored the pin and retained his title.
Winner via Pinfall: Triple H
Match Rating: *1/4
Next we have the match of matches, the one we've all been waiting to see. It added some excitment to the card at least.
John Cena vs Batista: Grudge Match
I was really excited about this match, even though it wasn't hyped up long enough and they should've saved it for Wrestlemania. If I'm being honest, it should've been much longer. They were some good spots and moves, but I was expecting more anger and brawling from both of them, but whatever. I'm very annoyed Batista won, but that's just my opinion. The crowd seemed pretty mixed throughout the whole thing, but it was interesting. It could've been much better and more hyped though. But as one of the commentator dudes said, 'No Hype Needed.' And it's true. Arguably the two biggest stars in the WWE facing off for the first time. Of course it's gonna be good! I can't wait to see what happens on Raw.
Winner via Pinfall: Batista
Match Rating: ***3/4
Then we have the biggest and best hyped match of the entire night. Are....You....READY?!
Edge vs Undertaker: HELL IN A CELL!
Everyone's been waiting and wanting to see this throughout their long and annoying feud. But the time finally came. Edge came out looking prepared and focused, while Undertaker come out to a HUGE crowd reaction. He seemed very different in this match. Not as sinister, and more evil and powerful. Like he had the urge to kill. That was a great touch, and maybe it was because it was a Hell in a Cell. Anything goes. My brother and I were waiting for them to climb on the top and for Edge to get thrown off, but it didn't happen. Still, i think this match certainly lived up to the hype and was very, very good. It was awesome! Edge tried killing Taker, Taker literally killed Edge. I was expecting more blood, but what are you gonna do, eh? I recommend you watch this PPV, even if it's just for this match. One of the best of the year, and I'm very glad to see the Undertaker back, like a lot of people. The ending was freakin awesome, and Edge got sent straight to hell! They also showed the Familia backstage cheering for Taker, which was cool. Sadly for me, I'll be gone this weekend so i won't be watching Smackdown for the first time in months, but hey, they repeat it a lot over here lol.
Winner via Pinfall: The Undertaker!
Match Rating: ****3/4
A very good PPV, with a lot of good matches and it was very entertaining. Sad not see any funny backstage segments, with Simmons or Cryme Tyme, etc. It seemed like a serious PPV, if you understand, and maybe that would've made it more 'fun.' I recommend you watch the replay or buy the DVD when it comes out, and it was worth the money and the late night.
Overall PPV Score: 8.5/10
Some would say I'm being too nice, or even too harsh, but that's for your review. I'll be watching Raw tonight, and we should see something with HBK and Y2J.
Oh I forgot to mention: Where was Kane?! There was no mention fo Rey Mysterio or anything. Raw has the answers!
Thanks for reading folks!
