Well, last night marked the goodbye of a great friend of mine. In case you didn't know her, Laura was an amazing girl, an amazing person, and a truly amazing friend. We had some many fun times, and it brings a smile to my face just thinking about it. She's a just so awesome, and we had alot in common. Not only that, but she's a very smart wrestling fan, and knows alot. Since the xat, we got so much closer, and I'm so glad, because you're just amazing. I'm not going to force you to stay here, because as much as we're all gonna miss you, you're making the right decision and we'll support you in whatever you decide to do in the future.
I want to make this short and sweet, as I'm not in a blogging mood and have places to be lol =P
Ricky Steamboat vs Chris Jericho:
This would've been better at WM, but hey, it should be great. For a man of his age, Ricky Steamboat is simply amazing, and it'd be cool to see him win this one. But I think Jericho will once again take the victory. Both are amazing wrestlers, and let's hope WWE let them shine.
Winner: Chris Jericho
Santina/Khali Kiss Cam Thingy:
Meh, it might be entertaining. Anyway, Beth will probably appear, and for some strange reason I can picture her and Khali together. *shudders* Lol but yeah, idk, this doesn't interest me in the slightest.=P
CM Punk vs Kane:
Totally random match, imo just there to fill up the space. It'd be cooler with a stipulation, but w/e lol. I'm just gonna take a wild guess and say either Punk wins or it's a DQ or something. I can see someone making an appearance here, idk who or what or why, but yeah lol.
Winner: CM Punk
Jeff vs Matt (I Quit Match):
Okay, this feud needs to end. Matt should start fresh on Raw, and as most of you might know, Jeff is considering leaving the WWE. So for that reason, I can see Matt beating his brother again, but who knows, they might let Jeff have this one.
Winner: Matt Hardy
Christian vs Jack Swagger (ECW Title):
Nice to see it being defended at so many PPVs, shame it wasn't at WM =S Lol but anyway, I can see Christian winning, but then again, I'd like Swagger to retain, I want him to have a good, clean title run for a while now, and maybe lose it around Summer or just before. But Christian will probably win lolz.
Winner: Christian
John Cena vs Edge (Last man standing for the WHC):
Cena will win. Lol =P
Winner: John Cena
Legacy vs Shane, Batista and HHH (WWE Title Match):
I hope to God HHH loses, and I honestly believe he will. I think we can all see someone turning on someone, hopefully Shane, and maybe he'll join Legacy...? IDK, that'd be pretty cool. I can see him feuding with HHH, although I'd like a heel turn from Trips soon. Anyway...
Money in The Bank Ladder Match (CM Punk vs Kofi Kingston vs Mark Henry vs Christian vs Finlay vs Kane vs Shelton Benjamin vs MVP)
I really liked this match. The huge spot from Shelton off the ladder had me literally jumping out of my seat. There were some awesome spots in this match, and while I'm not the biggest Kofi Kingston fan in the world, you gotta give him his props here. When he ran up the ladder, I seriously thought he'd won it, but then Mark Henry with the Slam on the ladder was very cool. I think the line-up of bigger guys in this match would've made people less excited, but I knew they'd pull of a good match. Everyone did great in it, and the bigger guys like Henry and Finlay helped add to the excitement with some cool moments, like Hornwsoggle with the frog splash onto everyone, using the mini ladder. I thought the whole match could've been a little longer though, it seemed to fly by. But yeah, a very fun match to watch. I'm pretty shocked to see Punk win again, but he did great in the match and deserved it. But he was pushed like hell last year, so God knows what they're trying to do. What next, Women's Champion? Lol I kid, I kid, but seriously, who knows what's next for this guy?
Match Rating: 8/10
25 Diva Battle Royal
Okay, so you have all the divas come out to Kid Rock. What annoys me is that the past divas didn't get entrances, so no one even knew who was there. I think the past divas were Molly Holly, Victoria, Torrie Wilson, Miss Jackie, Sunny and I heard we had Joy Giovanni somewhere. It annoyed me that the commentators didn't at least tell us who all the past divas were, and instead just sat there trying to figure it out. And the one thing that p*sses me off so damn bad is Santino winning. Sad thing is, I can expect this from WWE. The women's division is a complete JOKE. Let's face it, it really is just pathetic now. But aside from that, it was a very busy match so it was hard to keep up with it all. I would've liked better from the commentators on their part here, it just seemed like they didn't give a sh*t either, like most of the Universe. But yeah, they could've said everytime a diva got eliminated, but I guess it was hard to keep up with. Even if Santino didn't win, the match still would've sucked. It put me in a pretty bad mood afterwards tbh.
Match Rating: 2/10 (Yes, I'm being nice).
Chris Jericho vs Jimmy Snuka, Ricky Steamboat and Rowdy Roddy Piper (w/ Ric Flair)
This match was pretty...eh. Until Steamboat got in. That man was freakin awesome here, considering his age, and the fact he probably hasn't wrestled in years. He certainly saved this match. I would've just loved to have seen Jericho vs Steamboat, but still, a fun match, although I would've liked to have seen more on the part of Flair. Jericho wins, and then Mickey Rourke, star of 'The Wrestler' is called out by Jericho from the crowd. He (finally) enters the ring, and jabs Jericho with a left hook. Now, the punch didn't look very good, and it didn't help with Jericho's overselling. But the crowd really got behind Mickey, and it was a cool segment, I guess. A little too long for my liking, but still, a cool moment.
Match Rating: 6/10
Matt Hardy vs Jeff Hardy: Extreme Rules Match
A very exciting match to watch, and you know when you're watching these two, especially with extreme rules added, you're in for something special. I thought the spots with weapons, like the trash can, etc, were cool, and then Jeff's missed legdrop from the ladder was great. I wasn't really into it though, aside from all the big spots. There just wasn't enough in between the big spots for me to focus. I did like it though, and the ending with the Twist of Fate on the steel chair was insane. Matt is officially a great heel now, and it's gonna be hard to see him as a face anymore. Overall, a cool match with some extreme spots, and Jeff Hardy has still yet to win at the Grandest Stage of 'Em All.
Match Rating: 7/10
Rey Mysterio vs JBL: Intercontinental Championship
JBL had told us he was going to do something 'History Making' and have one of the most dominant wins ever. He came out as the Hometown Hero, proudly claiming he will beat Rey Mysterio and history will be made. Well, I'm pretty sure it was. I think Rey's win was the quickest IC Title match ever or something. So at least some history was made here. Rey's attire was really cool, the whole Joker thing. But didn't that Batman craze wear off like...a year ago? Oh well, he still looked ready for 'Mania. He hits a quick 619 on JBL and BAM! Your new Champ, Rey Mysterio. JBL then claims he is quitting WWE. More history made here, as he becomes the first person to 'quit' at Wrestlemania. The crowd were good here, waving goodbye to JBL. I guess we'll have more answers on Raw. The actual promo with JBL and the fact Rey's win was so quick and dominant, was actually better than the match itself. So if I'm rating the match, then well, it wasn't good at all lol.
Match Rating: 3/10 (Yep, still better than pile of sh*t battle royal) =)
The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels
Easily match of the night. Hell, match of the year so far. So exciting, so awesome to watch. I'm so glad they pulled this off, I think everyone had high expectations. I love matches with lots of counters, good counters, and near falls, which is why I loved this. It was so shocking at times, where you thought HBK had it. But still, the streak lives on. Undertaker has an amazing 17-0 streak at Wrestlemania. I knew it couldn't die, even against HBK. The crowd were so into this, they really made it special. It was worth the price of the PPV, worth staying up till 4am, and worthy of Wrestlemania. I love this match, and it's sure to go down as one of the greatest. If this were the main event, I would've been so much happier. Awesome. Just plain awesome.
Match Rating: 10/10
John Cena vs Edge vs Big Show: World Heavyweight Championship
I was really looking forward to this, probably more so than HHH/Orton. I like the whole storyline tbh, but I hope it doesn't go on much longer. Cena's entrance was kinda scary lol, but still awesome and of course, he always gets the big entrance. The match was what I was expecting, nothing too amazing but not awful either. It was a good, solid match. The ending with the F...Sorry, Attitude Thing on Big Show was great, and then you have your new champ, Cena. Course, I was p*ssed off. =P But that doesn't matter, because it was a good match and the celebration was cool. I just have a feeling this will be a lame title reign.
Match Rating: 7/10
A little moment with the Hall of Famers here. We see our Class of 2009, and then Stone Cold Steve Austin comes out on the beer truck. GIMME A HELL YEAH! =P Beer showers ever, it was just awesome. Houston really came alive here, I loved it. It really felt like old times.
Triple H vs Randy Orton: WWE Championship
This has got to be my least favourite Orton/HHH match. Even with the cool spots, I was falling asleep. But take into consideration it was 3.30 in the morning lol. But still, eh this was lame. With all the hype, the build up, and we get this? Just ugh. I don't get what WWE are trying to do. But for crying out loud get that title of Triple H before I go insane. The whole match was just....meh. It was boring as hell. I was hoping for something good, but no. The only thing I really liked was the RKO right at the beginning. The crowd weren't really into it either, it just wasn't special. And we've seen some way better matches from these two. It was average at best. I'm ashamed to say this match was the main event for what was meant to be the biggest Wrestlemania ever. But it was okay, maybe I'm being too harsh.
Match Rating: 5/10
So, overall, a very good Wrestlemania. The set was awesome, I loved the entrance with the HD Graphics. The crowd were great, and the promo at the beginning was cool. An awesome night, so exciting.
I may be a little early writing this, but I thought I'd get my predictions and thoughts out here now, cause I'm pretty bored lol.
Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker
I know this match will be amazing. To be honest, I don't want to see the streak die, even though I'm a bigger HBK fan. I don't really care who wins though, just as long as we see an awesome wrestling match, and I know we will. This may turn out to be Undertaker's greatest Wrestlemania match ever, but we don't know that till we see it. The promos they've been cutting together every week have been great, and it certainly is a big enougn match for the 25th Anniversary of Wrestlemania. Will Undertaker be 17-0 at Wrestlemania? Or will HBK end the streak?
Winner: The Undertaker
25 Diva Battle Royal to crown 'Miss Wrestlemania'
I'm looking forward to this. I wanted to see my favourite diva of all time, Lita, in this match, but rumours are doubting she'll appear. =( But hey, we've got some great divas in this match, and hopefully we'll see some great past divas too. If a current diva were to win, I'm expecting it to be between Mickie James, Beth Phoenix, Melina, Gail Kim and Michelle McCool. I personally would like to see Mickie, Natalya, Jillian or Beth win out of the current divas. While I love Gail, she isn't deserving of 'Miss Wrestlemania.' If Jillian won, I'd be crying and screaming lol, it could put her on a winning streak. I'm wondering if we'll see the in-ring debut of Tiffany too, but I highly doubt she'll win. Hopefully, the ECW Divas Night Special next week will add some good build-up to this. It's hard to decide who will win this one though, as we don't know the confirmed past divas and it's really anyone's game. I hope we see a good match though, and someone deserving takes the title of Miss Wrestlemania.
The Miz and John Morrison vs Carlito and Primo to Unify the Tag Team Titles
I'm not really excited about this one, but it's good to see a tag title match at Wrestlemania. These two teams have been very impressive over the past few months, so let's hope we see a good match from them. I think it's good the titles are getting unifed though, but who will become Undisputed Tag Team Champs? The Colon Brothers have really impressed me as of late, they work great as a team and are very deserving of a spot at Wrestlemania. Miz and Morrison are starting to really bore me, but it makes sense to have them here. The situation with The Bella Twins, I also expected tbh. I knew one of them would turn heel, and it turned out to be Nikki. So who knows where that will go after Wrestlemania. Anyway, I'm going to predict Miz and Morrison, simply because I feel they deserve to be Undisputed Champions a little more than Carlito and Primo.
Winners: The Miz and John Morrison
JBL vs Rey Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship
It's great to finally see an IC Title Match at Wrestlemania again. JBL is going to be the 'Hometown Hero' and I'm liking him as IC Champion at the moment. It's kinda weird having Rey facing him, as there's no build-up whatsoever, but I'm okay with it, because Rey can make this match exciting. JBL is boring to watch in the ring, but if he's against Mysterio, then it could be a much more fun and exicting match. I'm not expecting big things from this, and I would've maybe liked William Regal somewhere in the IC Title Picture, but like I said, this is okay with me. IMO, JBL needs to retire form the ring now. Not the buisness itself, as he is hilarious on commentary and could play a backstage role perhaps, but he's past his best days in the squared circle now. I'm expecting Rey Rey to pick up the win on April 5th.
Winner: Rey Mysterio
Christian vs Finlay vs Kane vs Mark Henry vs Shelton Benjamin vs MVP vs CM Punk vs Kofi Kingston in a Money in the Bank Ladder Match
I don't know what WWE were thinking when they put several of these superstars in here. Powerhouses like Henry and Kane do NOT belong in ladder matches. I was expecting something a little bigger for the 25th Anniversary, but it'll probably turn out to be a great match. We have some guys in there who will make it exciting, like CM Punk, Shelton and Kofi. I'm rooting for Shelton here, as he is very deserving of a Main Event title shot now, and after just losing his US Title to MVP, it makes sense that he should win this. I'm hoping CM Punk doesn't repeat last year and win. He's won nearly every Raw title since, except the Women's Title of course...although, who knows what he'll go after next lol. He's had his push, and I'm content with his mid-card status atm, so I'd rather he not win. It would be nice to see Christian win, after returning to WWE earlier this year, it'd be a great way to show he's back and better than ever. I honestly wouldn't mind Kane winning either, he's deserving a big title shot. I'm hoping that whoever wins, doesn't cash it in that night, it would just be predictable.
Winner: Christian
Triple H vs Randy Orton for the WWE Championship
I'm very excited for this. The build-up has been great, and hopefully it will turn into a No DQ or Last Man Standing match. Triple H's current reign is...well...awful. I forget he's the champion, it's just that lame. But yeah, I'm loving all the stuff happening between these two on Raw atm. Of course, I'll be rooting for Orton, but it seriously could go either way. We've seen them fight before many, many times, but it makes sense to have it once more at Wrestlemania. Triple H is probably nearing the end of his career soon, and I don't think he should hold the title any longer. It'll be a great match, I'm sure of it, and I'm predicting Orton will win the title.
Winner: Randy Orton
Big Show vs John Cena vs Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship
I'm also loving the build-up to this too. But apparently, Edge is having problems with his knees, so he may lose ='( I wonder who will get drafted after Wrestlemania, whether Cena will go to Smackdown or Edge will go to Raw. I guess we'll find out then. But anyway, it should be a good match, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if Big Show stole it all and won, which yeah, I'd be pretty p*ssed off =P It should be an exciting match though, and I'm sure they'll be a few moments that make you jump out of your seat, like with the entire Wrestlemania card. I really have no idea who will win, I'm just excited to see this match. I'm going to throw it out there and say Big Show will win, but I seriously have no clue lol.
Winner: Big Show
Oh yeah, I almost forgot this =P
Matt Hardy vs Jeff Hardy in an Extreme Rules Match
I don't know who I'm rooting for here. Glad we got an Extreme Rules match though. I'm just sorta liking them both equally at the moment, and I don't know who WWE will make the 'Better Brother.' All I know is, Jeff has yet to win at Wrestlemania, so maybe now is the right time? Matt is the better wrestler though, and I'm sure we'll see great spots from both brothers. Hopefully their feud this time will be better than their last. I love Matt as a heel, and his promo on Smackdown the other week really made him a great heel, although I was getting a little teared up lol. Brother vs Brother is something I'm always happy to see, and this should be one exciting, unpredictable match. I'm going to say Jeff wins, although, like with all my predictions, you never really know.
Before I saw this PPV, the card looked pretty weak, and I wasn't predicting anything special, except Cena and Edge retaining, Shane dies, etc. But WWE really pulled something out of the bag here, and totally surprised me the whole night. I literally jumped out of my seat a few times, it was just awesome. Here we go with the match reviews.
WWE Championship Elimination Chamber Match: Edge (c) vs Big Show vs Triple H vs Vladimir Koslov vs The Undertaker vs Jeff Hardy
I was in shock when Edge was eliminated. I was screaming and punching stuff lol. But that's why the PPV was so good, you didn't see it coming, and I was so damn certain Edge would retain. But anything can happen in the WWE. This match was good, but I was hoping for more action with the cage, rather than the same spots in the ring. But it was still a good chamber match, and I'm not really that bothered about Triple H winning. He's now a 13-Time Champ, and I guess it makes sense for someone like him to go into Wrestlemania as champion. But the titles mean nothing nowadays, and last year was basically Triple H holding the thing for what, 7 months? Oh well, it's better than seeing Undertaker with it.
Rating: 7.5/10
No Holds Barred Match: Shane McMahon vs Randy Orton
I think we all knew who would win. But it was still a great match, imo. Simply because Shane just didn't sit there and die, which he easily could of. No, instead we saw some great action from these two, and it was more hardcore than the chamber matches tbh. I cried when Orton was busted open =( Lol but yeah, a good match and I didn't expect it to go on this long, but okay. We also had a run-in from the Legacy, but they didn't do much help and Cody had his face smashed in with a trash can, in a move Shane calls 'Coast to Coast.' Lol what a name. Anyway, Orton soon regained control and RKO'd Shane to pick up the win =)
Rating: 8/10
'All or Nothing' Match: Shawn Michaels vs JBL
The build-up to this has been great, and while I know alot of people, like myself, weren't keen on the feud at first, it's really growing on me. Sure, the idea that HBK could be broke is pretty dumb, but if you forget that, it works as a damn good feud. The suggestion to bring HBK's wife, Rebecca, was good too, as it can add more emotion to a match. Another moment that made me jump was when Rebecca hit JBL at ringside. Then, when HBK started dominating and hit the Sweet Chin Music, it put a huge smile on my face. This match was really unpredicitable as to who would win, but I honestly thought it'd be JBL, to make the feud last a little longer. The ending was great though, but I would've liked to see this happen at Wrestlemania. Still, an okay match with good emotion behind it, and the ending was really sweet.
Rating: 7/10
ECW Championship Match: Jack Swagger (c) vs Finlay
I was firmly rooting for Swagger here. I knew this would be a good 'wrestling' match, although it was kinda...eh. It wasn't amazing, but it was decent and the two pulled off some nice spots. Swagger is clearly gifted in the ring, and it was a very solid match. Not Wrestlemania worthy imo, but worthy of a normal PPV. Much better than some of the ECW matches in the last year, and it looks as though WWE is starting to care more about their 'C' Brand.
Rating: 6/10
World Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber Match: John Cena (c) vs Rey Mysterio vs Chris Jericho vs Mike Knox vs Kane vs Edge
I was not expecting what happened, to happen. At all. I'm glad it was Kofi he took out of the match too ;) But yeah, Edge came running down during Kofi's entrance, and attacked him, and entered himself into the match. I was like 'What the hell?!' but also very, very happy =P So Kofi was now out of the match. God help us if there's a Kofi/Edge feud. God help us. Anyway, it was a much more exciting match to watch than the Smackdown chamber, as you had a much more varied selection of superstars and wrestling styles in there. Jericho was good in this match, as was Rey. I'm annoyed Kane went out so quickly, but he's Raw's resident jobber now, it was expected. Knox was eliminated quite quickly too, so that's a good thing. Some very good Jericho/Rey action. Cena didn't do much here at all, although I was expecting him to retain, but when you see Edge entering himself in the match, you can't just have him there and make him lose. When it got down to Rey/Edge, I was really getting scared Mysterio would win lol. I would scream if he won. The amount of roll-ups this guy had, ugh lol. Nice spear at the end too ;) The new WHC....Edge? =D Hopefully now he goes to Raw and we see Orton vs Cena vs Edge at WM =D
Rating: 9/10 (I'm not being biased here. At all. =P)
Maybe I'm being too nice here, but I really, really enjoyed this PPV. It shocked me the whole way through, and that's something we haven't seen from the WWE in a while. Usually, I can predict these things, and I'm right 90% of the time. But not here. And hopefully, Wrestlemania is even better. I'm mega pumped for it now! =D
