[General]
Yeah sorry I haven't been on long enough. Doesn't really matter though does it? Anyway this SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY! .. wait this isn't a monster truck rally! Anyway yes, this Sunday! the last annual event of the year Armageddon will end the year with a fiery BANG! Grudges could finally be ended, questions answered, and whatever else will finally be done at this final Pay-Per-View ladies and gentlemen!
John Cena after a huge victory at Survivor Series has come out on top with his first World Heavyweight Championship reign! And his first official defense will be against none other than the man he defeated, Chris Jericho! Yeah our Champ better shut this fool up. The only Saving we need is from Chris himself and Cena will be the man to do it.
Also we have our WWE title match. Edge facing Triple H and Jeff Hardy. I've got a bad feeling that this will be Jeff's last chance, I wish him my utmost best for him to win this Sunday. At Armageddon it's do or die for Hardy, WIN IT JEFF!
We also have a major grudge match pitting Batista and Randy Orton against each other. Several years in the making we finally get to see former Evolution members collide. And of course Batista will leave Armageddon with his hands up high once the smoke clears.
For once the ECW World Title will not be defended, instead a grudge match between the champion Matt Hardy and the Moscow Mauler Vladimir Kozlov. Due to a major loss at Survivor Series he's now taking it out on Jeff's own brother. A non-title match that may further extend the undefeated streak of the rough Russian. With Matt's never say die attitude he'll give that man a run for his money and I'm hoping for that. Good luck Matt!
We also have a major ECW grudge match between our fighting Irish Finlay and Mark Henry. Serious bad blood between these two who want to fight so bad that their egos alone could tear down the arena this Sunday without lifting a finger! I got my money in the Belfast Brawler himself to come out of this. Hopefully soon he'll be a shoe-in for a title shot. We'll see as the events unfold.
The last match I'm very much looking forward to is the final match in the Intercontinental title tournament. CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio. Two very athletic wrestlers with a high flying resume about the both of them. I can't take my pick because of my utmost respect so I wish them the best of luck and come out fighting. Then whoever comes out the victor better beat Regal and win the IC championship. Good luck Rey and Punk!
That's it for all the matches I care to see at Armageddon. I'll try and not be late for the Live Blog. We got a Secret Santa coming so I'll be here!
Last night beget another groundbreaking Survivor Series part of a 2 decade history. Traditional Survivor Series matches, title matches, a CASKET MATCH, and the first ever Diva Survivor Series match. Another history making edition of this 20 year long event.
I was hoping for Raw's Diva team to win, despite who the leader was but it was going to be a given. I mean a match like this, of course the respective champions of both shows would lead their teams. Anyway Beth Phoenix was the sole survivor of her team so I congratulate Raw's Diva team for their win. And yes, thank you, too, Glamazon.
Also we have another Survivor Series match. Team HBK against Team JBL. I did NOT see this coming. The Great Khali was actually on HBK's team! This would be like Kane and Rey Mysterio becoming tag team champions. WTF!? But yes Shawn Michaels, Rey Mysterio, Cryme Tyme, and Khali were all a team. HBK, Khali and Mysterio were the sole survivors and wiped the floor with JBL's team. And I couldn't get any happier knowing this. Great job Shawn, to you and your team.
Casket match! Yes casket match. Due to the past weeks leading up to now, I knew the outcome of the match already. Big Show's fear of caskets was his downfall. Now Undertaker beat him down into a pulp and sealed his fate inside the oversized casket. A very groundbreaking match and also very one-sided. But hey it was coming! And I'm not complaining either. R.I.P. Big Show.
Orton's record at Survivor Series is still untouched. Every year he's been put into a traditional match, and has come out winning for his team. The only difference this year is that he's not the sole survivor like the past few years he's been in it. But this year still counts. He won for his team and he's still undefeated in a traditional Elimination match. I hate Orton with a passion but I have to give it to him. He's winning here at this event like Undertaker does at Wrestlemania. I tip my hat to you Orton. I wish Batista's team still won though.
A very unique twist. I knew Edge would be back eventually, but like this? Jeff Hardy had some complications around 3 in the morning on Sunday and had to be in the hospital. So apparently Edge took his place. Though Jeff did come back and start whailing on the Rated-R Superstar, but Edge... with this last minute comeback, still won the title. So this is his..what..third WWE title reign? Lost count. he's got a decent resume of major singles title histories now. Plus his... face! Sweet BBQ Sauce he let his beard go! I didn't think it was him until I read the results and all. Looks like Big Foot! Anyway good job, Edge..... I guess. When will Jeff finally win?! GEEZ! I
Finally, our big return of John Cena in his hometown, facing Chris Jericho for the World Heavyweight Championship! Despite not much of a personal grudge between the two, it was still an intense title match. One of the best from what I've seen. Submissions flying, and I think Cena has some new moves! ( FINALLY ) plus he was sporting some new gear as well, modeling off of the NWA logo. And his hometown return gave him a big advantage, leading him to pick up his forst World Heavyweight Title. Way to go Cena! THE CHAMP. IS. BACK!!!!
A very huge Survivor Series this year. More history to be made, new champions, survivors, etc. It was great! Now we head on towards our final event of the year, ARMAGEDDON! THE END IS COMING! ( Literally, almost 2009 )
Once again, WWE Universe. We had the entire card of Cyber Sunday in our hands to decide the fate of those who competed tonight, and once again history was made. In all honesty this was a VERY great Cyber Sunday this year. I was intensely pleased with the votes, and the outcomes of the matches. VERY pleased indeed. I didn't make it to the live blog in time for Cyber Sunday to begin, but I kept my attention to the coverage being taken on the site itself and I can make a good review for it with just that.
The night kicked off with the preview match. Shelton Benjamin defended his United States Championship against an opponent of our choosing. And it was a landslide vote at 59% for R-Truth. The match was short, and I have to admit it was sweet as well. At least Shelton kept it clean and it was oozing athleticism from both men. I got to watch the match myself and was pleased to watch it. It was clean at least but I was hoping for R-Truth to win the title. Oh well, he'll get another shot pretty soon.
Our first official Cyber Sunday match was Rey Mysterio vs. Kane. We got to pick the match. No Holds Barred, Falls Count Anywhere, or 2 out of 3 Falls. Despite the outcome I wasn't pleased with the results of the voting. Come ON you guys think smart! Rey would've been squashed in the No Holds Barred match. To me he barely seemed to get out of it. 2 out of 3 Falls would definately have tipped into his favor no problem. Stop thinking with such a brutal conscience and start thinking smart! Eh.. at least Rey won the match. Congratulations Rey Mysterio! David has once again become the winner against Goliath ( The concept I mean. David is the victor in the David vs. Goliath concept )
And now to me this was the match of the night as expected. A landslide 69% of us, the WWE Universe, voted in Evan Bourne to face Matt Hardy for the ECW World Heavyweight Championship. And this was the show stealer of the night, Ladies and Gentlemen. Just as promised. The most intensifying match of the night that stole the show. Evan had Matt going and gave him a run for his money. It seemed Evan would become a champion so early in his career. Matt had the last word however with one final Twist of Fate. A very awesome match. This is the sole reason why I want to see Cyber Sunday is this match. I'm very proud for both of these men, and mostly for Evan Bourne. This man has a great future ahead of him in WWE. And he's already earned the respect of the ECW brand, and he's had mine ever since his first week. Great job Evan. You'll get your due soon. I promise. And you've already got another invitation from Matt to face him for the title again. Good luck Evan!
Oh and yet another vote came into play as expected. We got to pick the Tag Team match. The winning vote as predicted and also voted for by me, was Cryme Tyme vs. Miz and John Morrison. Great match. Sadly Miz and Morrison won. Damn it... I highly doubt Cryme Tyme is far from giving up on going after those two, and I applaud them. They'll get back at 'em soon. This war between the .COM-batants ( lol ) is FAR from over!
And a very unique vote for tonight, we pick a legendary former Intercontinental Champion to face the Unibrow of Italy, and the current champion, Santino Marella for the title. And it was Honky Tonk man that won the vote, sadly the match did not end the same way as the reaction from those who voted for Honky Tonk man winning. It was a DQ but the other two votes came in to be sure to send a message to Santino that they aren't taking $h1@ from him again. I still wish Rowdy won the vote but oh well. I should've considered the fact of Honky Tonk man being the longest reigning IC champion a reason to vote for him. But he was still a good choice.
Landslide voting kicked in for Jeff Hardy alone to face Triple H for the WWE Championship... Ah man!!! Jeff lost once again.. I really want him to finally grab onto that belt! I'm getting tired of him only getting so close then letting the brass ring slip out of his hands... Again, nothing against Triple H. Congratulations on retaining. You've made a long reign this year and I'm glad for you.
Next was a match we got to vote for here on WWE.com. Undertaker vs. Big Show. Last Man Standing match won the vote. Again, folks. YOU'RE NOT THINKING SMART. I QUIT would've been the ideal match for these two because Undertaker has never been made to say it in his entire career! Whats' with you guys?! .. Better be glad Undertaker won because statistically Last Man Standing and Knockout definitely tipped into Big Show's favor. And Deadman barely got out of Last Man Standing tonight, but still won. I'm glad for this though.
Lastly, Batista vs. Chris Jericho for the World Heavyweight Championship. Again like last year, landslide votes came in to bring Stone Cold Steve Austin back once more to guest referee a match. Very pleased with the results of the voting and the outcome of the match. Though it got kind of rocky when the other two candidates started raising hell but got on the wrong end of a Stunner to SHUT THEM THE HELL UP!! The second year in a row, Batista in a Title match, and Steve Austin being the winning vote to be guest referee and Batista has once again won. He is ONCE AGAIN, our World Heavyweight Champion. Way to go Batista! Thank you Stone Cold, and most of all thank YOU WWE Universe, along with myself being in it, for letting your voices be heard and making more history tonight. This blog's done. CHUNKY EXPLOSION! ( ...Yeah.. new catch phrase of mine. Like it? lol .... )
Cyber Sunday is well within our sights WWE Universe! Still a relatively new annual event, Cyber Sunday has been a groundbreaking concept since it's start as Taboo Tuesday back in 2004. From then to last year we've let our voices be heard on what matches would take place, the stips, the titles to be defended, and the opponents to face each other. This year's no different everyone! The card for this year's Cyber Sunday is really interesting. As the card develops further, I'll be adding Edits to this blog.
We've already got a title match -for Santino to defend his IC Championship. We pick from THREE past IC champions that are now legends. Shall it be Rowdy Roddy Piper? Goldust? Or maybe one of the most well known IC champions: THE HONKEY TONK MAN!? This one's gonna be big. It's a tough choice for me but the outcome will be the same. That Italian Unibrow isn't leaving Cyber Sunday with that belt. Personally I texted my choice for the Hot Rod to face him. Oh hell yeah!
Also we have Batista our #1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship facing Chris Jericho for the title! And we get to pick who the Referee is going to be for the match. Shall it be The Rattlesnake: Stone Cold Steve Austin? Perhaps maybe Randy Orton? ( PFF. RIGHT! ) Or shall it be Shawn Michaels?! Now I narrowed it down to two choices. Randy Orton? PLEASE! And these two made it VERY tough. For one: Shawn would be a good choice due to the fact that he wants to get back at Chris for Summerslam, and losing the ladder match at No Mercy. So if you think he's the best choice vote for him! Now Stone Cold would be an awesome choice because he's a saavy special guest ref. He's been refereeing more matches than any other wrestler did in a special guest match. As J.R. would say: "He is definitely the straw that shall stir the drink!" So if he gets picked then the match will be very unpredictable! And I like that. No offense HBK, I voted for Austin to be the ref. Seeing as I like how he makes the matches he's in so unpredictable. It's going to be a close race between the two men I know that.
We now have Triple H defending the WWE Championship at Cyber Sunday and we pick his opponent. Jeff Hardy? Vladimir Kozlov? Or both to make it a Triple Threat Match? Well we have some reasons to vote for both men. One: Jeff Hardy is in need of finally reaching the peak of Mt. WWE with some major title gold. Two: Vladimir is a very good wrestler and I knew he'd have a major push early in his WWE Career. Which is a good thing. Alot are going to vote for Jeff Hardy, and alot for Vladimir.( C'mon people we've seen how Vladimir is. Hewants competition and he'll get it big time if the triple threat match is voted in He's had it coming! I'm sure the winning vote will be for the Triple Threat match. No doubt. I voted for that stip.
UPDATE 10/14: Rey Mysterio vs. Kane at Cyber Sunday. This David vs. Goliath match could be the endall to their.. strange rivalry. I hope Rey's mask isn't at stake again. But as announced last night, they will face each other once more and we pick the match! Will it be a Falls Count Anywhere Match? Maybe a No Holds Barred Match, perhaps? Or lastly a 2 out of 3 Falls Match! I have to say I'd pick the last, this would tip into Rey's favor seeing as he has the speed and stamina to last against a bigger man. Kane might get a fall in the match. But Mysterio will keep on kicking until he beats Kane. So I'm personally voting on this one. Come on guys think smart! Instead of voting for carnage. Think of a match that could tip into Rey's favor! 2 out of 3 falls will do it just fine. If it's one of the first two, he's got a better chance of being splattered easily because alot of stuff could be in Kane's disposal to mutilate Mysterio with. Let's just think smart and make sure Rey wins this match. 2 OUT OF 3 FALLS MATCH!
UPDATE 10/15: This week's edition of ECW decided three qualifying matches to determine the ballot for who will face Matt Hardy for the ECW World Heavyweight Championship at Cyber Sunday. Finlay, Evan Bourne, and Mark Henry have all won their respective matches to qualify to be on the ballot. So who will it be? The high flying Evan Bourne? The brawling Irishman Finlay? Or perhaps the Silverback Mark Henry? T'ch.. Mark's just a whiney baby. He's done as far as it comes to contending for that belt. Finlay a good choice for this match. He's had a title push coming for sometime now. Lastly the high flying Evan Bourne has made a name for himself in so little time. He's turned heads and put people in awe. I voted for Evan to face Hardy because this will be a classic title match that will OOZEathleticism. Evan will be Hardy's best competition since having the belt. This ain't about power houses. This ain't about just flat out brawling. This is about WRESTLING. That's why Evan has what it takes to earn a title match. So Evan has my vote. I highly suggest you all to vote for Evan too. I promise you that if he wins the vote, us, the WWE UNIVERSE, will have a match worth talking about for years to come. I PROMISE YOU!
UPDATE 10/15: Pick the tag match! Shall we pit the WWE.COM web show rivals Cryme Tyme against Miz and Morrison? How about CM Punk and Kofi Kingston against the World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase? Or perhaps Jamie Noble and Mickie James facing William Regal and Layla? Don't give a darn about the last one. If Punk and Kofi vs. Rhodes and DiBiase comes up, I hope those little brats have to defend the belts against Punk and Kofi. Statistics show that the two times the belts have been defended at a Cyber Sunday ( Conviently both were Taboo Tuesdays. LOL ), they've changed hands both times. So the favors will tip into Punk and Kofi. Plus those loudmouths don't deserve the belts anyway. Though Cryme Tyme against the Dirt Sheet stars would be an epic tag team match. They've had it out for each other for a while. I mean plus I'd love to see two web show host teams duke it out. So..that's what I voted for!
UPDATE: 10/15: Diva Halloween Costume contest. Pretty much all of the Divas are in it I think. And voting commences during Cyber Sunday so keep an eye out fellas. Vote for whoever the best vixen of Halloween is gonna be!
We also have Undertaker facing Big Show but stipulations haven't arisen yet. I'll update this blog post after Smackdown this Friday.
UPDATE: 10/24 Sorry about the late update, but for Big Show vs. Undertaker there will be the following to choose from: I Quit Match, a Knockout match, and a Last Man Standing Match. Knockout and Last Man Standing will tip into Big Show's favor. Never has the Deadman said "I quit" So vote for this match! You can vote for this one online.
UPDATE:10/24 There will also be a preview match. Shelton will defend his United States Championship against an opponent of our choosing. Will it be R-Truth? Maybe MVP? Or how about .... Festus? Lol. Yeah I picked R-Truth. MVP can forget ever getting that belt back, not to mention R-Truth has been a thorn in Shelton's side so I want him to face Shelton for the United States Championship. You can vote for that one online too and plus we can see it here on WWE.com!
Cyber Sunday aside from WrestleMania and Royal Rumble is on my top 5 PPVs of the year! Don't miss out on voting ladies and gentlemen! Polls are open! Get those phones out and vote until your texting fingers break off. October 26, 2008, CYBER SUNDAY! Their fate is in our hands!
No Mercy has just come to a close and history has been made again! All three world champions have retained! ( DAMN IT! ARGH ) But nonetheless... Overall No Mercy was disappointing, but not a total loss. Matt Hardy beat Mark Henry tonight to retain the ECW World Heavyweight Championship and I'm damn proud of this man. Anyone who have said otherwise predicting the outcome of this match shall now be SILENCED! Matt Hardy is still our ECW World Heavyweight Champion!
Candice had alot going for her... this rivalry was going to go full circle since last year at the same exact event, but to no avail.. Beth won again. But if it weren't for that Unibrow from Italy Santino, I'm sure she would've beaten Beth. Candice is more deserving to be Champion right now more than any Diva at this point. She deserves retribution! Beth's gonna get what's coming to her soon. No doubt about it.
Kane going up against Rey Mysterio.. it was brutal. Rey was using his speed to try and topple the Big Red Monster and in the end it frustrated Kane to go so low as to strike Rey down with a steel chair earning him a DQ. Mysterio won, and didn't have to take his mask off, but for what price? WHAT PRICE?! He was left a broken heep outside the ring! Hellfire and Brimstone's going to be put out soon!
A match that was well anticipated went down as one everyone celebrated.. The Animal shutting JBL's mouth ONCE AGAIN and earning himself a shot at the Heavyweight title at Cyber Sunday. And to top that off which REALLY made my night, was Cryme Tyme jacking JBL's limo to have a night on the town. Way to go guys! Tonight it was all about the Limo Limo. YEAH YEAH! WOO! Another thing about Cyber Sunday, voting already begins tomorrow NIGHT on RAW baby! Yes! I will be voting until my mouse hand can't click anymore! LOL
Man, I never thought I'd feel such disappointment about the WWE Championship match tonight.. Jeff should've had this. Nothing against Triple H but Jeff had this coming for a LONG time. Finally grabbing onto the brass ring and going home with it! so close! SO CLOSE! Jeff should be onthe peak of Mt. WWE with his brother right now.. I'm sorry for bickering but.. Alot of people could relate to this right now. You did your best Jeff, I wish you won.. I'm sorry. As for The Game. Congratulations, man. You earned it.
Undertaker.. ah.. man.. He took a beating from Big Show. Now that Big Show has that straight right hand to the jaw in his arsenal. He took The Deadman down and won by knockout. Undertaker may be down, but he's not out. Big Show, watch your back. You haven't won the war yet. Nor will you EVER win the war against The Deadman.
Our main event. Ladder match for the World Heavyweight Title. I know Lance Cade would play a hand in this. But it was still down to the FRIKKIN' WIRE! Shawn almost had this. He beat Jericho down with the ladder. The outcome they both had a grasp on the title, but Jericho landed with it in hand first. I'm getting so frustrated with this! Well, come Cyber Sunday Batista will get the title then. Next I want to see him and Shawn duke it out for the title. So that's it for my perspective on No Mercy. Now starging Monday Night we hit the road for Cyber Sunday October 26th! We start voting for matches tomorrow night on RAW! BE THERE!!
