I could be the biased U2 fan I am and say "Larry Mullen", but I won't. As much as I like U2, Larry Mullen isn't technically proficient. Heck, as musicians, U2 aren't exactly great. Bono especially has been quoted as saying "I want to play guitar very badly... and I do".
Shinya, of Japanese metal band Dir en grey is at the top of my list. I've seen them live 3 times now, and it just amazes me of how great he is. He's this really small guy around my size (5'6" and around 115 lbs), but damn... you'd have to actually see him to believe it. |
