Jimi is the fashionable choice. Granted he was innovative, I can't say he was the best. Why? because there is no best guitarist. There are so many different genres of music and there are many greats. There is no way to measure who is the best at their genre(s) nevermind the best guitarist in general. It's all a matter of opinion. And in my opinion, there are many greats and most of them are easy to pick but no one is the best.
