Anyone prefer the older SD games?

I think the series went kinda downhill after HCTP, I like the newer ones but I hate that guys have overall ranks, I miss the arcade style the older games had. Anyone agree? Keep in mind that SYM probably had the best Season mode ever.

I do like the SVR series I like the 1st SVR until 2007 but 2008 was awful and 2009 wasn't that bad but I still play Smackdown 2 on the PS1 I think it's one of the best in the series but I agree with Here Comes In The Pain that game was great I'm glad I still own them all.  I wish the SmackDown game series would come back as they were better then the SmackDown vs Raw games.

If the game had the same arcade style as Legends of Wrestlemania I would get bored to quick if it used in other style the others had in the SmackDown series it would good to see it used again I hope that will be used in the Legends of WrestleMania series.

yeah totally, Here comes the pain was awesome, WWF just bring it was so fun you could actually go into the crowd and Shut your mouth was awesome aswell

yer the old games were awesome smackdown shut your mouth was the best wrestling game ever made if it had the controll system of the smackdown vs raw series it would have been great

Agreed 100%. The first SvR was fun and cool, but a series was a bad decision.

I love all the Smackdown vs. Raw video games except 09' because I have never tried it.  The series was just pretty sweet. There are a couple of things I don't like in Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 though. Number 1: Where is Trish Stratus? Her WWE women's championship entrance is in the game but where is the diva? Number 2: I wish Maryse was in this game along with her entrance. Number 3: Who's entrance is Diva 3? I don't remember any diva having this entrance. I have a few problems with Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 as well. Number 1: Why isn't Michelle McCool in this? She was in Smackdown vs. Raw 2006. Then She is in Smackdown vs. Raw 2008. Why isn't she in this one?

1. Trish Stratus Retired a year before that game came out.
2. Maryse wasn't really that big before SvR08.
3. i don't know, i have played that game in like 6 months.

no, THQ isn't getting lazy, America is.  Nobody can wait anymore.  When the Smackdown games were going out, they had like 1 1/2-2 years to get everything set up right, but now, they have to release one every year, or people will complain about the rosters on the game.

I have a problem with Smackdown vs. Raw 2007. Where is Michelle McCool? She is in Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 then she is in Smackdown vs. Raw 2008. Why isn't she in this one?
