Summerslam buyrate is in and it was awful

The buyrate for WWE’s 2008 SummerSlam pay-per-view is in and it’s probably not sitting well with Vince McMahon and other WWE officials. The show did 465,000 buys, which is about 270,000 in North America. That compares to 537,000 buys for the 2007 SummerSlam and 529,000 buys for the 2006 SummerSlam. 2008’s event featured John Cena vs. Batista and Edge vs. The Undertaker in Hell in a Cell, the 2007 show featured John Cena vs. Randy Orton and the return of Triple H vs. Booker T while the 2006 SummerSlam featured Edge vs. John Cena and DX vs. Vince and Shane McMahon.

Note - the buyrate is how many fans overall ordered the PPV.

Considering we had Cena vs Dave & the hell in the cell I have no idea how this PPV got a bad buyrate.

That might be what happened. The 'Taker vs. Edge HIAC match was worth watching though.

I regret buying Summerslam It was Terrible

Worst Hell In a cell EVER

HHH vs Khali = snorefest

Cena vs Batista = Nacho Break for Me

HBK segment was meh

I am sure there was a lot of reasons fans did not order and this may have been one of them.

Hell in the cell was a must watch match. Maybe some of the wrestling public were board of the feud and thought it was over done?
