wow wwe how does randy orton a man whom pretty much got born into the biz cuz of association with last name becomes youngest world champ ever at tender age of 24 who bearly had to work hard to get where hes at
while..
finlay, benoit, regal, and eddie guerrero literally busted their ass for this buisness for years and years and bearly got nothing to prove for it as much as world title reigns..eddies reign as champ sucked and benoits reign was decent but only held it once while regal and finlay NEVER held world title and all these guys way more talented than orton as far as wrestling goes!!
way to go vince, thus why wwe has always been looked as a laughing stock in the world of pro wrestling in other companies and countries cause its all entertainment joke drama bs when its suppose to be WRESTLING

Randy got a MAJOR push because Vince was ticked at Brock Lesnar for leaving. (before Orton, Lesnar was the youngest world champion in history) Either way Orton would be where he is today with or without that push.
My Respect List: ... it's not empty, there's just no one that's caught my eye
My name's Santino and I'm from Europe, I like my pancakes with maple syrup. I lost my title to William Regal, his knee to my head should of been illegal. Now i'm healthy and it is vital, I want back my IC title.

Newsflash...Orton isnt synonymous with greatness in WWE. Cowboy Bob Orton won ZERO titles in the WWE. Bob Orton Sr. was no higher than a regional champion in Florida. So yeah..to say Orton only became World Champion because of his name is absolutely ludacris.
Orton became the youngest World Champion simply to get Brock Lesnar's name out of the record book because he left putting a sour taste in the WWE's mouth. Granted, Lesnar is still the youngest WWE Champion in history but as far as the youngest World Champion in WWE history, he is no longer.
Also, Orton had the essential IT factor and the look of a champion whereas the guys like Benoit, Eddie and Finlay do/did not. Benoit had little to no charisma or mic skills , Eddie was solid but only a solid attraction to the Hispanic demographic and Finlay is the same as Benoit. Those do not draw the crowds. Look at Hogan, Rock and Austin. Not exactly what you call great wrestlers yet are the biggest draws in the company's history.

Good point nikki. WWE has tarnished the art of wrestling.

Actual wrestling does not appeal to the general public. If it did, ameteur wrestling would be a very popular sport.
Actual wrestlers do not draw huge crowds and there have been very few exceptions to that including Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle, although none of them were quite the draws as say The Rock or Ultimate Warrior.
Is that why when Eddie was champion..ratings for Smackdown were horrible? It's proof enough that he wasn't a draw and people are only disagreeing with that sentiment because we sadly lost him. Eddie was a good wrestler, yes but that does mean he should have been World Champion? No, he did not have the appeal of a World Champion.

I'm not necessarily saying its a reason, but I did notice that the wrestlers you mentioned, Finlay, Benoit, Regal and Guerrero, did not start in WWE, and had somewhat lengthy careers in WWE's competition. Whereas Orton started in WWE (at least as far as major companies go).
Might be coincidence - but VKM has been known to favor guys with tenure. So from that perspective, it seems to make sense that Benoit, Regal and Guerrero had to wait a while for their championship reigns, and Finlay hasn't had one yet.
Plus, to be fair, WWE, IMO, did rather well to Guerrero. They took him back after he cleaned up from his drug problems, they hired his widow after he died even though she hadn't made any appearances in the WWE before his unfortunate death, and even if his title reign sucked, and I'm not saying it did, he was still at main event status at the time of his death (and the same holds true for Benoit) so who knows, he may well have been getting another reign soon had he not died. We know Benoit was going to get the ECW championship had that tragedy not occurred.
