I don't blame Rey, I blame the WWE.
There's nothing wrong with Rey speaking spanish, but unless they (the WWE) want the non spanish speaking audience to lose interest, they should provide translation on the TV shows, at least.
I have nothing against any wrestler, or anyone else for that matter, being proud of their heritage and making it a big part of their lives, but at the same time, if you don't take into consideration the people who don't understand what you are saying, you risk alienating them.

People can only be alienated if THEY ALLOW themselves to be! The Spanish Rey used last night was really basic---mostly the stuff taught in school in level 1 Spanish! But let's think of it THIS way---there are Spanish (and many other peoples too) WWE fan who watch the show and love many of the wrestlers for whom they have NEVER even understood a SINGLE word from!
And on top of that he translated what he said right after! Its not like he answers the question in spanish and walks away...he'll either begin in Spanish and translate it..or begin in English and say it again in Spanish or something. People just choose to not understand...they think its funny.

Actually, RAW (not sure about SD!) airs in Spanish on Sundays.
Okay, I know I'm not helping the situation, I'll shut up now...

Its funny becuase even though Raw airs in spanish on Telemundo and Mun2....Latinos barely watch it and it draws in terrible ratings. Its always been about SD for the Latino population.

First Kudos for Rey when he does translate. But to be fair, he does not always translate. I have seen promos many times when he does in fact, finish with something in spanish and walk away.
Second, it doesn't matter what level of a foreign language (and when I say foreign, I mean foreign in perspective of the listener) you are speaking if the person has no knowledge of the language itself. I didn't take spanish in school, so whether or not it's first year or not means nothing.
Third, yes, indeed, there are spanish speaking people who watch the show, and God Bless them. However, that being said, the WWE has much more of a responsibiliity to the audience that they are broadcasting to, rather than the incidental viewers. Now, let me make it clear, I have no problem with Rey speaking spanish, or Funaki speaking japanese, or whatever else. There is no hate here. But I do think it makes a lot of business sense for the WWE to provide some translation for when the wrestlers say something in a language other than what the main broadcast audience is assumed to speak.

No, I mean the target audience that the BROADCAST is being sent to. That is not the same thing as the show. As someone else pointed out, Raw is broadcast on Sundays in spanish. That audience obviously don't need a translation of Rey speakin spanish. I don't know in what other markets these shows are broadcast, but you can bet that if they are being broadcast to other markets than the english speaking ones, they will have someone dubbing in the audio.
And while I understand your point about how they are reaching out to non english speaking fans, that hardly argues the point that they still shouldn't provide translation for the english speaking audience if that's who the main audience is. It is not as if I am saying they shouldn't let Rey speak in spanish. But you tell me, why should they NOT provide translation for it? How is it good business sense to EXCLUDE a translation? Does that in any way cheapen what Rey says or lessen his reaching out to his spanish speaking fans?
All I am saying here is to make things more accessible to everyone. Why on earth would you argue against that?

Do you have Close Caption or SAP? One of those 2 usually works.

They don't provide translation; it usually just says "Speaking spanish."
