Matt got pwned, but you have to ask yourself, if Vince wanted to completely bury Matt he would have been pinned by Boretista. The fact that the match ended in DQ tells me that Matt is getting a Main Event push. What they need to do next is have Matt cut a backstage promo on Boretista, then interfere in his match with Mysterio at SS.

Hardy won't become World Heavyweight Champion until his brother's destiny is sorted. The best way in my opinion to push Matt is:

*CM Punk gets another match with Scott Armstrong, Matt interferes*

*They both take part in a Survivor Series elimination match on different teams. Matt's Team wins!*

*Punk beats Hardy at TLC*

*Hardy beats Punk at The Rumble*

*Hardy earns a spot in the Elimination Chamber in Febuary. He gets knocked out 4th.*

*Hardy wins MITB & cashes it in August/September 2010*

I see no problems with this storyline. If anything, I'd hope that Matt cash in MITB (If he were to win) in December or later. Just so that they can milk the whole 'I can be any champion I want' CM Punk type of role, and put him way farther over with the crowd.

Or, this could just be a rematch of Matt Hardy vs Kane on Superstars, in which Matt also lost by DQ, but there wasn't even a follow-up match/promo/JR's BBQ/Whatever.

Matt wasnt fully healed following that match, also notice how he was gone for a few weeks and returned for the Bragging Rights qualifying match.
