I can't help but think of Hogans 5 year title reign and him losing to the Warrior at WM6. That win for the warrior meant a lot since not many people thought he would win.
I am not saying we need another 5 year run but some stability would be nice. Of course this was also when we had three months between pay per views so there was plenty of time for build up. With Monthly PPV the fans have attention spans of gnats.
My solution would be to cut PPV back to bimonthly and unify the world titles. This would allow time for story build up and make the one existing title mean more.
My two cents for what it's worth.

While Terry held the belt for five years, he wasn't boo'd like Cena was when he carried the belt for long periods. People began to boo him because he never lost, so now the WWE makes him lose. You can thank the WWE Universe for the long reigns of title holders to have ended.
It wasn't the writers or WWE Corporate who determined that issue, it was the WWE Universe. Think back folks, sit down and really think back. I know I have and I have always been a Cena supporter, so I was thoroughly taken back when he began to be boo'd for holding the title so long. They wanted others to have the belt.
Now you complain that the belt means nothing now. Tell me whose to blame?

Keep seeing the title changing hands from one to the other all the time is annoying, Orton should of retained.

It is quite sad that Orton has won 6 World titles Batista has won 5 World titles Cena has won 7 World titles
And
HBK has 4 World titles Kane has 1 World titles Y2J has 5 World titles
And also pathetic that Batista/Orton/Cena have won the rumble and Kane/Y2J/Angle have not
you forgot EDGE 9 titles HHH 13 Titles and Ric Flair !6 ,sick ****
you mentioned Flair. his career was twice as long if not three times as long as these other guys.

How the hell did Hogan have a five year title reign and end up having it finally end at Mania 6, if Savage won the title at Mania 4?
I'm considering doing a weekly blog on the state of wrestling.....for those interested and think that I should please send me a private message. I don't want to waste my time doing one unless I know it's going to be read.
-Thanks

You are absolutely correct. My bad. I remember him losing to Warrior as more significant in my mind. Man my age must be catching up with me because I can't remember who ended the five year run. Help anyone? Was it Andre?

The WWE universe...non stop complaints about nothing really.
If we sit back and look at WWE programming from then to now we will realise certain facts which are most prominent today
1] The title changes hand quickly sometimes. There have been periods back then and now when the Title would shift between wrestlers frequently for whatever the reason at the time.
2] All wrestlers have a staple set of moves that you will see in almost every match. It becomes a signature and that'll be that for as long as there's wrestling.
3] No matter what is done and how it's done, there will always been some people who are pleased and some who aren't. Keeps life interesting.
4] After Bragging Rights, just about every member of the WWE Universe will be tuning in tonight to see how the title picture and RAW on a whole will develop - mission accomplished WWE Creative.

This is not a Cena hate thread, I'm a small fan of him but it was VERY stupid to have Cena win the WWE title once again tonight, these world title reigns have been total BS, the WHC has changed hands 9 times in a matter of 10 months, and now just 3 weeks ago Cena was WWE champion and he lost it to Orton and wins it back 3 weeks later?, what in the hell is wrong with WWE, why are we getting 3 week world title reigns, how in the hell is this helping WWE with things, the WWE title just lost ALOT of prestige tonight and I won't be surprised if Cena loses it tomorrow or even the next PPV, I like Cena, I was hoping that he can go to Smackdown and do some new fueds, now who in the hell is gonna fued with him since him and ORton's fued is done........The Miz?, WWE just pulled the worst act of 2009, by having their most prized possesion being passed around every 3 weeks.......WWE is over, I think I'm gonna go into desperate mode and risk watching TNA and Smackdown now.......

Answered my own question
Hogan beat Iron Shiek 1/23/84 and dropped it to Andre on 2/5/88
So it was actually a four year run. Nobody pick on the old man or I will beat you with my cane.
