Hi my name is Edward, I am from the UK and a big WWE fan, I am studying the good and bad influences WWE has on children and how the product is scene in the face of the media.
I myself am a huge Edge and William Regal fan, but find it hard to find WWE fans in the UK especially to help me with my final piece of coursework. As much as people complain about the "bad" storylines, their favorite superstars losing when they shouldnt, and so on....Were all still here and we all still love the business and the entertainment when it comes down to it. Atleast its that way for me. 7. Do you have any favourite catchphrases and if so what are they? Win if you can, lose if you must, but always cheat! 8. Who is your favourite superstar? Chris Jericho. 9. When you think of your favourite WWE superstar what is it that makes him your favourite? He always has been, hes the main reason why I still watch it today. I've been a fan of his since the first time I saw him in 1990. Has been that way ever since. Hes the epicenter of excitement!!!! Not to mention, hes sooooooo good looking. 10. Have you ever copied what a WWE superstar says verbally? Sure. 11. If yes, what do you say Various quotes from Jericho, the wooooooo! from Ric Flair, etc. lol 12. Have you ever performed a wrestling move? I have, but I am usually a bit intoxicated when I do that, lol. 13. Have you ever hurt someone or been hurt, by a wrestling move? No. 14. If yes, explain. 15. Do you believe WWE wrestling has an influence on children watching the product, if so please explain pro’s or cons. Sure it does, but not a negative influence. Kids are not dumb. They know the difference between right and wrong. Violence is wrong. Its pretty simple. But I do believe if a parent is going to allow their [young] children to watch, that they should first explain, that when it comes down to it, its not real, its actors acting, nobody is really getting hurt, its entertainment and thats ok. I started watching as a child....In some cases,it can give children inspiration, seeing their favorite superstar out there...maybe aspiring to be like that one day, giving them drive to become whoever they want to be. 16. Not to mention the abundance of character. Plus, it's what I grew up with. 7. Do you have any favourite catchphrases and if so what are they Jerichoism such as 'Assclown!!!" and "AGAYYYYNNNN", as well as Rock's 'IT DOESN'T MATTER!" 8. Who is your favourite superstar? Chris jericho, Shawn Michaels, Cm Punk, Katie Lea Burchill. 9. When you think of your favourite WWE superstar what is it that makes him your favourite? Their charisma, them being pretty good promo men and natural speakers, as well as their talent in-ring. Mostly their charisma though. 10. Have you ever copied what a WWE superstar says verbally? Wise enough to attempt everything on a bed, but there was a time my retarded neighbor kid put me in a headlock while we were in a pool and almost drowned me. Does that count? 15. It does to some extent since children are usually pre-disposed to looking for a hero figure in whoever they see. WWE stars in the ring tend to fill that gap for 'em and gives them something 'real' to believe in. A hero in the flesh, who they can cheer for each week and take inspiration from. On the con side, children also tend to be copycats, and will regardless of warnings attempt some wrestling moves of their own, or take what is seen on television too seriously since they consider it 'real' compared to cartoons and movies. 16. Feel free to say anything else you wish on the WWE product. Talent Relations; Stop signing big guys wo can't wrestle for nuts and suck at promos to push as juggernauts over smaller guys who can do both and get over with the crowd if given the chance. Half your roster which is successful in the long run was made of guys who weren't 6'6 and ripped. Think about it.
