Has anyone been on a team before a big game? This is what coaches and owners do. They tell everyone to step up there game in order to beat the competition. Its not like she went out there and went:
"Joe loss weight" "Shelley and Sabin get bigger" "Nash, Angle, and Steiner get younger" "Styles cut better promos" All she said was that the company in whole, including herself because she is apart of the company, needs to step it up a notch.

Some of you guys are taking what she said kinda weird.
So TNA makes the biggest signing in the company. Hulk Hogan. Huge name. Nobody bigger. No matter what any of you say this is TNA's biggest signing to date in terms of Name Value. She then went on to say that many of the people who were there - or just the company in general were against this signing. She also basically said that she is tired of everyone's complaining and she all wants them to pay attention to her and support her and all of her decisions 100% no matter what, and if they don't like it they can get the **** out. (All while sounding terrified. She's not the best TV Character at all.) huh. What an amazing segment. |

Ok, I watched it, and it left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I believe that Dixie Carter has been emboldened with the recent acquisition of Hogan. She's clearly been drinking Hogan's kool-aid in that she believes that the company is infallible now that Hogan is on board. It would not shock me to learn that Dixie conceived of this speech after a conversation with Hogan, and if so, Hogan must be chuckling to himself right now.
Note to Dixie Carter: For TNA to survive the all-important next few years, there are four things you must consider: 1) That you're running a wrestling company. This is not a dictatorship. Politics in wrestling as they are, everyone is going to bring their own ideas and individual contributions to the game. Attempting to silence those ideas is going to create significant friction among those that are most important to TNA's cause. 2) There is going to be a backlash to this. It is going to be a bad backlash. As I said, when you're running a wrestling company, the success or failure of that venture rides as much on the backs of the talent as it does on the quality of the leadership. Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle, AJ Styles and Hernandez are vital---ABSOLUTELY VITAL---to TNA's continued growth. Losing one or several of them (or dare I say, all of them) will do irreparable harm to TNA. 3) Hulk Hogan is a parasitic worm. He is useless baggage. He will charm you with boasts of his great drawing power, marketability and name value out of one side of his mouth, and out of the other side he will subtly undermine you and manipulate you at any given opportunity. Wrestling is a money venture for Hogan. If he can make the most money by squeezing every ounce of breath out of TNA while he wins titles, headlines PPVs and discredits top talent, then that is what he will do. 4) This is not a one horse race you're running. As much as I utterly despise the monopolistic machinations of WWE, one cannot strut onto Monday Nights with the hope of contending with Raw when one cannot even crack the 2.0 sphere in viewership with one's regular programming. If people aren't watching TNA on Thursday nights, there is absolutely no reason for them to be watching on Monday nights. If I'm Vince McMahon, then I'm sending contractual feelers to TNA's top talent as we speak in order to determine when next the individual contracts of TNA's upper echelon are up for bidding. I fear a massive talent exodus is building within TNA, and I pray that TNA will have the wherewithal to withstand it. Letting this get out demonstrated arrogance and a complete lack of foresight on TNA's part. |
