    RAW 8-25-08

Tuesday, August 26, 2008, 05:54 PM EST [General]

I am a little torn on my thoughts of last nights RAW. There were a lot of times when I loved the show and then there were a lot of times that I hated it! First I'd just like to add that Mike Adamle is doing GREAT as General Manager. Everytime he comes out, he has something HUGE to announce! He is a LOT better on the mic and at times he is VERY entertaining! Now to the show...

It started off pretty blah...I was very disappointed to see JBL vs CM Punk AGAIN! The match was the same as there others...except no blood this time. Give it up JBL, Punk is better than you! Not much else I wanna say on this one except...Congrats Punk on another win!

Next match was pretty interesting. Beth Phoenix vs Kelly Kelly. I think Kelly has gotten sooo much better and now when I see she is about to wrestle, I don't gripe! hehe Kelly Kelly got the win in this one after giving Beth a bloody nose. Beth was pulled out of the corner by Santino to avoid an oncoming Kelly Kelly. As Beth was confronting him for interfering, Kelly Kelly surprised Beth with a pin. After the match, Beth attacked Santino.

Next up was Primo Colon's debut. Well, I guess my predicition of Carlito and Primo being a tag team is now shot as Colon mentioned backstage that he is nothing like his brother. His match was against..."Charltio"? Charlie Haas dressed up as Primo's brother!? Oh my gosh...this was dumb. But it looks like they may be hinting at a future feud between Primo and Carlito!?

HBK came out next to talk about his wife and Chris Jericho. I knew this wasn't over! Jericho was on the TitanTron as HBK challenged him to an Unsanctioned match at Unforgiven. Michaels says that it's a good idea that Jericho wasn't there because what he wants to do him would surely get him thrown in jail. Jericho finally agrees to the match at Unforgiven. This is going to be an AMAZING match! I have chills just thinking about it!

The next match was the World Tag Team Champions Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes going up against Jerry Lawler and Jim Duggan. It was funny to see that Rhodes and DiBiase still hadn't retrieved their titles from Cryme Tyme! hahaha This match wan't as exciting as I thought it'd be. It got a little more interesting though, after the match when Rhodes and DiBiase defeated Lawler and Duggan. Cryme Tyme was up in the crowd and challenged Rhodes and DiBiase at Unforgiven for the titles that they had stole....sorry, "borrowed" from them. haha

Santino was next up in a rematch against Kofi Kingston for the Intercontinetal Championship. Santino came out a little paranoid looking around for Beth Phoenix after her attack earlier in the night. Pretty good match. Beth made her way to the ring and ended up tripping Kofi when the ref wasn't looking. Kofi fell, hitting his face on Santino's knee which allowed Santino to get the pin. After the match, Beth got into the ring. At first, she looked like she was going to attack Santino again but she ended up kissing him! Looks like "Glamarella" is still going strong! Santino's reaction was hilarious! "She loves me! She loves me!" Santino is hilarious!!!

Last match of the night was Batista vs Kane. I'm not sure why but I didn't really pay much attention to this match. All I remember was at the end, Kane kept hitting Batista's leg on the ring post, then hitting it with a chair which got him disqualified. Then, Batista ended up getting hold of the chair and attacked Kane.

My favorite part of the night was when RAW General Manager came out to say that John Cena had suffered a herniated disk and that it would need surgery and that he'd be out indefinitely. Don't misunderstand me, it wasn't my favorite part of the night because I heard Cena was hurt. I feel extremely bad about that. My favorite part was when Adamle announced that his replacement in the Championship Scramble at Unforgiven would be Rey Mysterio! I LOVE Rey Mysterio. I wonder how this match will turn out since apparently, Rey has been "scarred" by Kane! This is going to interesting. Unforgiven is turning out to be an interesting PPV. Three Championship Scrambles...(ECW's participants will be revealed tonight during qualifying matches), a Tag Title match between Rhodes and DiBiase and Cryme Tyme and my favorite...an Unsanctioned match between HBK and Chris Jericho! I can't wait!!!

Wrestlers stupid or ineffective moves...in my opinion!

Sunday, August 24, 2008, 12:06 AM EST [General]

Hey everyone! In my last blog I was talking about a match on Smackdown with Maria and Natalya. I mentioned that I really despise when Maria does the "Bronco Buster". In other blogs, I have also talked about other moves I don't like, so I decided to write a blog to tell all of you some moves that I think are either stupid or ineffective....in my opinion.

    In no particular order:

    1. Five-Knuckle Shuffle: Oh John Cena...with moves like the FU and STFU...you include a move called "Five-Knuckle Shuffle"? Even the name sounds dumb. It's just a little hit on his opponent's head after a little weird looking dance thing? I'm not even sure what he's doing. Sometimes you can even see that he doesn't even touch his opponent. UGH!

    2. The Worm: As a suggestion from my friend Dean (thanks Dean), I included this move by Scotty 2 Hotty. A little more effective than the "Five-Knuckle Shuffle", this move still makes me shake my head in disbelief. I know it fit his gimmick to have this move but after a while it became boring and a little stupid looking.

    3. People's Elbow: I know I am going to attract a little heat from some of you by including this move by The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment, but I just really don't like this move at all. It's so amazing how some wrestlers can make a small mundane move like this look (in most people's opinion) so "great". I just don't even know where to begin...

    4. Bronco Buster: There are usually three people I think of when I hear about this move. X-Pac, Goldust and Maria. It may be "effective" but I just hate watching it in the process. Eeekkk! It is just awkward to watch.

    5. Starstuck: Ashley....Ashley...Ashley. If you are gonna do a move from the top rope...please let it at least look cool. Pulling up your arm pad to smack the star tattoo on your elbow then doing an elbow drop doesn't qualify as "cool".

    6. JBL's multiple elbow drops: After a couple of elbow drops, I have to try and stifle a yawn as I watch him slowly get up, drop, get up, drop, get up *me yawning*, drop, get up....you get my point.

    7. Long Kiss Goodnight: I'm sure many of you male fans like this move by WWE Women's Champ, Mickie James. I'm just not all that into watching her kiss her opponent. I assume this move is just for the fellas to watch. Whatever!

    8. Handspring Back Elbow: This move is usually done by Divas. The ones I usually think of are....Chyna, Molly Holly, and more recently...Jillian and Kelly Kelly. Yeah, it may look really cool but you are wasting a lot of time trying to do your little handsprings.

    9. Candice Michelle's Go Daddy dance followed by an elbow drop: Again this is probably a move just for the fellas to watch but it is another time-waster! It's like, hurry up already!

    10. Vice Grip: I hate watching Khali do this move. This also may be "effective" but I really hate watching him "squishing" his opponents heads. The faces they make...it just makes me feel embarrassed for them.

    11. Maria's "Beautiful Bulldog": Okay, first off, I like the bulldog. It's really cool but not as a finisher. A move that most people do regularly during the match, you use to "finish your opponent off"? BOOO!!!

    12. Shake, Rattle and Roll: BG James from TNA...this is just as bad as the "Five-Knuckle Shuffle". Don't dance when you are supposed to be wrestling. Grrr...

    13. Christy Hemme's F.F.G: I've never heard this move called that but this is what it's called according to Wikipedia (which we all know isn't always accurate). It's where she gets on the ropes and does a "diving split-legged guillotine leg drop pin". Most of the time she misses...which is why I really hate this move!

    14. Dirty Dozen: ODB does this move in TNA. After a couple of those, just move! Geez, people...it doesn't require rocket science! Just push her off of the top rope or something. Are you really gonna be able to stand there while someone is slamming your head into the turn buckle TWELVE times! I don't think so!

    15. Torrie Wilson's "Stinkface": If someone were to come up to me and rub there nasty butt in my face, I'd be set to seek revenge on them. To me, this move just encourages your opponent to beat you for humiliating them!

    16. Hulk Hogan's Leg Drop: Yep...it's just a leg drop. A simple little leg drop. Most of the time, it was the weakest leg drop I'd ever seen. Enough said!

Well, that's all I can think of for now. I'm sure later, I'll think of a bunch more that I'll wish I had put on here. Just so all of you know...these are just my opinions. Don't go tearing my head off because I included your favorite wrestler's move.  I do want to hear your opinions though! So tell me what you think of my list or your own lists! :) Oh one last thing...these moves don't mean that I don't like the wrestler...I just don't like their move...

    Smackdown Aug. 22, 2008

Saturday, August 23, 2008, 12:59 AM EST [General]

Hi, Fan Nation! Another pretty eventful Smackdown this week! Tonight's show starts with Smackdown's General Manager on the Titantron talking about how Edge had changed her. That the Vickie we've seen over the past few months isn't the real Vickie. She then goes on to say that she wants to apologize to the Undertaker and that she wants the fans to give him a standing ovation. You don't need to tell the WWE fans to give Undertaker a standing ovation. Everytime his theme music hits, the fans are always on their feet!

Good to see that Tazz is still color commentator for Smackdown. I'm not sure if I missed it somewhere or if we are just supposed to assume it but is this Striker on ECW and Tazz on Smackdown permanent now? I hope so! I love it!

First match of the night is a Divas match with Maria facing Natalya. I have to admit it, I'm not a fan of Maria but she did a great job tonight. She has this arrogance to her now that I'm not so fond of but if it helps her to continue giving us matches she gave tonight, I hope she sticks with it! The match was going fine until Maria did the Bronco Buster. I HATE that move! It is so dumb. It's on my list of stupid moves...up there with Five-Knuckle Shuffle and The People's Elbow. Hmmm...list of stupid or uneffective moves...sound like blog material? What do you think? The match ends in a disqualification when Maryse comes down to seek revenge on Maria for apparently breaking her nose a few weeks ago. Of course, Michelle McCool comes down to help Maria. It looked like Michelle was having a little trouble running in those boots. Oh and by the way...if everyone here on Fan Nation has such hatred for Michelle McCool, then why is it every time she is on TV, she gets the best fan response than any Diva? Take that Michelle haters! :)

Backstage segment showing Vickie with Chavo, Bam, Curt and Zack...are they still called "La Familia"? Anyway...Big Show walks up and is soooo excited about the Championship Scramble matches tonight only to find out he isn't in any of them. Poor Show...did you see his face? I wanted to jump through the TV and give him a gigantic hug!

Next match was a Battle Royal to qualify for the Championship Scramble. The participants are newcomers Scotty Goldman and Ryan Braddrock, Armando Estrada, THE Brian Kendrick, Funaki (are you kidding, he still has a job there?) Curt Hawkins, Zack Ryder, Super Crazy, Jimmy Wang Yang and Vladimir Koslov. This match ended in a HUGE surprise. Most thought Koslov would win with no problem. Turns out, he was the FIRST one eliminated!!! Then out goes Goldman. Big Show jumps in the ring and starts eliminating people left and right! As he throws Kendrick out, Ezekial catches him over his shoulder. Big Show leaves after he eliminates them all and then Zeke puts Brian back in the ring and Kendrick wins the match!!! This was a huge surprise! Then of course he started that stupid dance. Ugh...it makes me embarrased for him!

Another R-Truth promo! Finally, he is debuting next week! I am sooooo excited! He is awesome!

Another qualifying match with MVP vs Festus. I was distracted near the end of this match as Festus kept pulling up his tights. It was so annoying. Anyway...this match was mostly MVP working on Festus's shoulder. Boring.... Then they both end up on the outside and the ref is about to count them out and MVP runs over and kicks Jesse in the face distracting Festus and getting back in the ring in time to have Festus counted out. Festus jumps in the ring as the bell rings and he goes back to his calm side. MVP waves a hand in front of Festus...noticing he is "out of it", MVP runs and kicks him in the face and over the ropes onto the floor. MVP has qualified...

Next up is Shelton Benjamin vs Finlay. I felt like this match lasted forever so I kinda lost interest in it! Near the beginning they were rolling around like they were really fightling instead of wrestling. During the match, Finlay was knocked off the top rope onto the floor and it looked like he hit his back really hard on the ring and it also looked like he fell badly on his ankle. I thought he was not going to be able to continue. Later on, Mike Knox came down and grabbed Hornswoggle but he jerked out of his jacket and ran under the ring. He was still able to distract Finlay and Benjamin got the win after hitting Finlay with a "Paydirt". Knox ended up getting in the ring and beating on Finlay. I wish they'd hurry up and put them in an actual match!

Last match of the night we had Jeff Hardy (YAY!) vs Khali (boo!). This was not a really good match. I'm just so bored of Khali! Thankfully Triple H was out there to watch the match as a "guest" commentator. I was surprised to see Hardy hit Khali with a Twist of Fate. Ranjin had to stick his nose in and almost distract Hardy when Triple H jumped up, grabbed Ranjin and punched him in the face! Then he grabbed a chair and hit Khali in the head when the ref was distracted. Jeff was able to hit Khali with a Whisper in the Wind and then a Swanton! 1-2-3! I can't believe that Hardy was able to win! Not that I doubted him but I thought they'd have Khali in to win the title in the Scramble. Phew! Glad that isn't happening!

After a commercial break, Triple H starts to talk about the Championship Scramble when Kenny Dykstra comes out! Ugh! He starts to say that he is tired of nobody taking him seriously when Triple H delivered an awesome Pedigree to Dykstra before grabbing the mic to say "Good to see ya, Kenny" then dropping the mic on him. HAHAHA Triple H, you made my day!

Lastly, Vickie Guerrero is out in the ring with Chavo, Bam, Curt and Zack to apologize to The Undertaker. Undertaker comes down and Vickie gets on her knees and asks forgiveness from The Undertaker when he says "Look at me woman!" hahahahaha He says that he isn't there looking for an apology...he wants her soul! Oh my goodness. I love the Undertaker...he's pretty much the coolest person to step into a wrestling ring but that line was a little dumb in my opinion! haha He then takes out the "Family" while Vickie made a break for the exit. haha Did she really think The Undertaker would come out and say "Yes, Vickie. I accept your apology" and nicely leave the ring!? I DON'T THINK SO! haha

    ECW 8-19-08

Wednesday, August 20, 2008, 10:18 PM EST [General]

Hey everyone! Here are my thoughts and opinions on last night's ECW...

The first match was amazing! It was freakin' incredible! It was a six-man tag team match with John Morrison and The Miz teaming up with Chavo Guerrero vs Evan Bourne, Super Crazy and Tommy Dreamer. I think Super Crazy and Tommy Dreamer are extremely underrated! The match was awesome. There was a bunch of high-flying going on in this match....MY FAVORITE! Super Crazy did an awesome standing moonsault on Morrison. It was cool to see Tommy Dreamer get in there and clear the ring! My favorite part of the match was when Super Crazy flew out of the ring and then Evan jumped out too. It was awesome! That crowd went crazy and even started chanting ECW! ECW! ECW! I had chills all over!

Next match was Ricky Ortiz vs another new guy, Gavin Spears. Ortiz was a little better but I still wasn't really into this match.

Finlay and Hornswoggle came out so that Finlay could talk about Mike Knox. He says how Knox has been saying that he's gone soft lately and gives Knox a chance to come to the ring and be face-to face. Knox makes his way out and says that he'll take him on when he feels like it. Finlay goes after him and they start to beat on each other. When it started to get out of hand, the referees started to come out and pull them apart. It was crazy! They looked like they were really trying to hurt each other.

Last match of the night was a SummerSlam rematch with Matt Hardy and Mark Henry for the ECW title. It started off a little boring to me but the end was pretty intense. Matt had a few 2 counts on Henry. Hardy was able to hit Mark with an awesome Moonsault. I thought he had it won but Mark was able to beat Hardy with the "World's Strongest Slam". Bummer! I really thought this was Matt's time to be Champion.

    Must List

Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 11:19 PM EST [General]

A friend here on Fan Nation (thanks Steve, awesome idea) made himself a Must List of 10 people that he would choose if he were start up a wrestling promotion. Then my sister made one and I thought, hey this sounds like fun. I looked at all WWE and TNA wrestlers. You choose 10 people. 2 Women, 2 Tag Teams, 3 Faces, and 3 Heels. My sis was right. This was harder than it looks. Judging my my picks, I like the wrestlers that do a lot of high-flying and have great mic skills. For me, mic skills are important! The two people that I think gave the best promos and had AMAZING mic skills are Mick Foley and Ric Flair!!! So, here is my MUST LIST:

    1. Mickie James: Mickie James is a great face character. She's got that cute girl next door look with spunk! She's always exciting and energetic. Her finisher is an amazing DDT. It looks really cool but it also looks devastating. She is still young is great role model material for the younger fans!

    2. Victoria: I have been a big fan of Victoria's for a long time. She's an excellent heel.Yeah, she is a little bit older than the other females but she has great experience. She has one of the impressive finishers I have ever seen by a female: The Widow's Peak! It is so awesome! You can always hear her talking trash to her opponents.

    3. LAX: LAX was my first choice as a face tag team. They are the best tag team going today so I'd have to be stupid to not choose them! LAX is the whole package. Hernandez is the big guy of the group so he can easily take on the bigger opponents. His strength isn't the only great thing about him. He's one of the very few big guys that can do an over the top rope suicide dive! The other half of this amazing tag team is also extremely impressive. Homicide is the incredible high-flyer of the group. I'm a huge high-flyer fan! Both Hernandez and Homicide have devastating finishers: Border Toss and Da Gringo Killa.

    4. John Morrison and The Miz: I chose these guys as my heel tag team. First off, they have great promos. Dirt Sheet anyone? It's hilarious. If you haven't checked it out yet, you ought to. John Morrison's arrogance as the Shaman of Sexy, Guru of Greatness and The Tuesday Night Delight add to his heel persona. He looks amazing as well. haha Morrison has tremendous athletic ability. His finishers and signature moves consist of a corkscrew neckbreaker, standing shooting star press, split legged corkscrew moonsault and other easily impressive moves! He does each move with such ease and elegance! His partner, The Miz is also quite entertaining. Since coming to the WWE, he has greatly improved! The self-proclaimed "Chick Magnet" also has improved his mic skills. His finishers and signature moves are comprised of "Mizard of Oz" and "Reality Check" or my personal favorite...his running corner clothesline. These two have the looks, the athletic skills and are awesome on the mic!

    5. Jeff Hardy: It should be no surprise that Jeff Hardy is my first face pick. He has a great look which makes him easily likeable by the fans. His energy is outstanding! Jeff's finishers and signatures are quite amazing: Twist of Fate, Whisper in the Wind and my favorite...Swanton Bomb. He is willing to do whatever it takes to give the fans a match to talk about. Jeff has this interesting mystique to him which has earned him the nickname, The Charasmatic Enigma. Also The Rainbow-Haired Warrior, in reference to his ever-changing haircolor! Hardy has proven himself as a great athlete and is an easy pick to draw a huge crowd!

    6. AJ Styles: Styles is one of the first names I think of when I think of a high-flyer. He has a great look, a great attitude and can give some of the funniest and chilling promos. Not to be too cliche but he is simply "Phenomenal"! He performs the most sensational signature moves and finishers: Pele Kick, Styles Clash, Springboard Forearm strike and the list goes on and on. He is amazing!

    7. Evan Bourne: From the start, Evan Bourne proved himself as a great in-ring performer. His energy is outstanding! He is a fast-paced high-flyer. He is still quite young so we can still expect great things from him. The first thing that caught my eye about Evan is his astounding Shooting Star Press! He does it to perfection every time! I think he could use work on his mic skills but again, he is young and there is plenty of time for improvement!

    8. Elijah Burke: The former leader of "The New Breed", Elijah Burke is simply incredible. His moves are quick and astonishing. I was speechless the first time I saw him do the "Outer Limitz Elbow Drop"! His other moves and signatures are The Elijah Express and The Elijah Experience. He is quite arrogant which makes him a great heel. His mic skills aren't bad and I can easily see him go to the top!

    9. The Brian Kendrick: Kendrick is a new great heel. He is young and extremely talented! His mic skills are excellent and is very good at bringing in heat. He has a walk that shows he is comfortable with himself. He is extremely proud of himself enough to call himself THE Brian Kendrick. Great heel material.

    10. Chris Jericho: Whether Chris Jericho is a face or a heel, he is one of the most talented wrestlers I have ever seen. He has a range of different moves from the Codebreaker to the Lionsault and the Walls of Jericho. His talent is limitless. He is definitely championship material. His mic skills are probably the best I've heard in a long time and can put on amazing promos. He's great as a heel or a face.

This Must List was a lot of fun but VERY difficult. There are many others I wish I could've put in this list. My alternate females are Jillian, Beth Phoenix, Candice Michelle, Katie Lea, Melina, Natalya, Taylor Wilde and Victoria. My alternate tag team was Team 3D.  My alternate faces are CM Punk, Kofi Kingston, Rey Mysterio, Ron Killings, Christian Cage, and Matt Hardy. Lastly, my alternate heels are Ted DiBiase Jr., MVP and Randy Orton.

Here's my list. Tell me what you think about it! :) Thanks!
