    ECW, ECW, ECW!

Wednesday, August 6, 2008, 01:49 AM EST [General]

Hello again! Here to give my thoughts on tonight's ECW. Randomness here and there...

Matt Striker filling in for Tazz...I was like "oh geez, this is going to be annoying" but it wasn't. I thought he did a great job. He sounds like he knows his stuff! I wonder where Tazz was?

In my last ECW blog I said, "I think a good match in the near future should be Chavo Guerrero and Bam Neely vs Evan Bourne and Ricky Ortiz! That'd be pretty awesome to see!" Well, we had that tonight and it wasn't awesome. Well, the parts where Evan was in the ring were interesting and that's about it. I still don't like Ricky Ortiz. He's kinda "blah". Nothing special about him, unless you like big curly hair. I think that dude needs a haircut! I'm still waiting for him to impress me but I think I'll be waiting a long time! Evan pretty much carried this match.

Mike Knox is looking kind of grizzly! Does he not own a razor? He came to the ring to talk about Finlay not being very tough. Showing us a clip from the SummerSlam promo of Finlay and Hornswoggle dancing together. haha Then Finlay comes to the ring accompanied by Hornswoggle to tell Knox that he loves to fight and he loves his son and he's ready to fight! But Knox exits the ring. Okay, kinda boring segment...

Armando Estrada vs Tommy Dreamer. Well, I knew who was going to win this match. I mean, it's really annoying because any ECW Original fan knows what Dreamer is capable of. We know he could take Estrada. But of course, Useless Talent..oops, I mean Colin Delaney made his way down to the ring to distract Dreamer. It was hilarious watching Delaney fly over the announce table to get away from Tommy. Then as Colin gets up on the ring apron to again try to cost Dreamer a match, he gets thrown into the ring post! Man, that looked painful! Nice move by Teddy Long by making an Extreme Rules match between Colin Delaney and Tommy Dreamer next week! Hope that is interesting and not a watered down version of what an Extreme Match is supposed to be!

RANDOM THOUGHT: I hate moves like "Five Knuckle Shuffle" and "The People's Elbow"

Braedon Walker vs James Curtis....zzzzzzzzz...oops. It was so boring, I fell asleep. No, just kidding. I didn't really pay much attention to this match, so there isn't much I can say...

Being a fan of The Dirt Sheet, I was looking forward to the first ever live episode! I love The Miz and John Morrison! They are so freaking hilarious! In usual Dirt Sheet fashion, they made fun of their "guests" on the titantron. Man, if I was them and I saw Mark Henry charging down to the ring at me like that, I'd wet myself! He looked MAD!! haha Then Matt Hardy...yes Morrison Matt Hardy, not Jeff! Silly Morrison...he spends way too much time in The Palace of Wisdom, he gets distracted! haha

Final thoughts: I hope Matt Hardy wins the ECW title from Mark Henry at SummerSlam!!!

    Way to go Adamle!

Tuesday, August 5, 2008, 03:34 AM EST [General]

Way to go Mike Adamle, as your first full night as General Manager! Wow, I never thought I'd say that! In my personal opinion, I thought Adamle did a heck of a job! Tonight's RAW started off with our new GM coming out to a swarm of boos from the fans.  This was then followed by chants of "You Suck!".  I feel bad for Mike Adamle. The man is trying. He is trying so hard for us to like him. By the end of the show, I thought it was a GREAT idea to have Adamle as RAW's new GM.

JBL just had to come out to interrupt Adamle, asking for a championship match with Punk. Then, out comes Jericho demanding that he too wanted a match with Punk. Great move by Adamle to make tonight...a 2-on-1 match. JBL and Jericho vs Punk and whoever pins Punk gets a title match at SummerSlam. If nobody pins him, then neither of them get a title match! I'm not a fan of JBL, but I was really interested to see who won this...

First match was Kofi Kingston defending his Intercontinental Championship against Paul Burchill. Man, Burchill is a big dude. Glad to see Kofi retain the title! Quite an interesting match if you ask me.

Mickie James vs Katie Lea...almost immediatley after Kofi and Paul's match. I thought Mickie did a better job this week.  Mickie was ready to get revenge on Katie, after Katie attacked Mickie last week right in front of her father. She had a lot of rage in her. I think that only added to the excitement and intensity of this match! Mickie beat Katie with a DDT before being hit from behind by Beth Phoenix. Later on in the back, after a very amusing segment with Santino, Beth and Adamle (or as Santino calls him "Adam-aly"...haha), our new GM decides to make a "Winner Takes All" match at SummerSlam. Both, Kofi and Mickie's titles will be on the line against the team of Santino and Beth. Nice move, Adamle. I'm pretty anxious to see how that match ends.

Here we go...Layla dancing again. Does she ever wrestle anymore? Anyway...we see a clip from earlier on with Layla telling Jamie Noble that there is nothing between them because she doesn't associate with "losers". Poor Jamie Noble. I just love him. He's got a little spunk in him. He's like a Pitbull...haha get it? A Pitbull...he used to be in a tag team with Kid Kash called "The Pit Bulls"....nevermind. hehe What is it putting Jamie in little stories with the women in the WWE? First Vickie Guerrero ("why are you doin' this to me Vickie Guerrero? TARNATION!!!"), then Michelle McCool, now it's Layla. Oh well. At least they are using him! I wonder if Jamie still kept his reservation at the Waffle House? haha

Then Jamie comes out to attack William Regal who had interrupted Layla. Dang they were throwing some punches huh? I think Jamie could take him! HAHAHA

JBL won the 2-on-1 handicap match that Adamle also made into a 10 minute time limit. I personally thought it would have been a great match to see Chris Jericho vs CM Punk at SummerSlam. JBL is sooo boring. The only move that he does that I look at and can say "Ooooo, Nice!" is his "Clothesline From Hell", which looks pretty devastating. Hopefully Punk can make their match at SummerSlam interesting.

The interview with Shawn Michaels kind of bummed me out. He's going to listen to the doctors this time. So all HBK fans cross your fingers and hope it's good news! I mean, Shawn Michaels is the Heartbreak Kid, The Showstopper, The Main Event...he's freakin' Mr. Wrestlemania for crying out loud! He has to be okay!!!

Matt Striker. What can I say? I actually like seeing Striker. He's very funny. Could you imagine your teacher being released because they used their sick days to go learn to wrestle? Man, that's kinda funny. But he's doing what he likes to do. I say, "Way to go Striker!" Poor Striker, though. His first match as a RAW Superstar is against Kane? Striker got a nice wedgie at the end of the match! haha OUCH! After the match, Kane says "He's dead." WHO'S DEAD, KANE!?" Backstage Adamle talks to Kelly Kelly about The Big Red Machine and says that next week, if Kane doesn't tell what's in the bag, he's going to take it from him. Yeah, I definitely want to see how that's gonna happen!

RANDOM NOTE: I DESPISE watching Cena do promos! Ugh. It irritates me.

In my last blog, I said I hope that the Cena/Batista vs Rhodes/DiBiase match was good! Well, I thought it turned out to be pretty awesome! Pretty nice way to tag in your partner Cena...just slap them across the face! haha I don't know if anyone else thinks so, but during this whole match, I realised that Ted DiBiase reminds me of Randy Orton! Anyone agree? I don't know why I think so, I just do. So, Cena and his SummerSlam opponent are now the World Tag Team Champions. That is hilarious. Those belts looked pretty tiny in their hands.

So, SummerSlam is looking to be a pretty interesting Pay-per-view! I know I can't wait to see it! As always..thanks for reading! :)

Now this was a GREAT match!!!

Sunday, August 3, 2008, 08:44 PM EST [General]

I have expressed my disinterest lately in the big tag matches between John Cena, Cryme Tyme vs JBL, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. It seems like they just keep putting the same match on week after week. Even putting Batista and Kane in the mix at Saturday Night's Main Event didn't even make it an entertaining match! But I found a tag match with a bunch of wrestlers that was...

Being that it's Sunday and no pay-per-view, I was needing a little bit of wrestling to watch. So, I searched around the internet and found a match that was a tag match that consisted of 10 wrestlers. It was at Survivor's Series 2006. The match was a five-on-five Survivor Series elimination match. Anyone remember this? It was Team DX (Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Matt and Jeff Hardy and CM Punk) vs Team Rated-RKO (Edge, Randy Orton, Johnny Nitro w/Melina, Gregory Helms and Mike Knox w/Kelly Kelly).

First out was the Hardy Boyz...TEAM XTREME! Yeah Baby! Then we had CM Punk followed by DX who, as usual, got a huge crowd response!!! Ooooo..chills just thinking about it! In traditional DX fashion they did the "ARE YOU READY!?" The best group of wrestlers, EVER!

First one eliminated was Mike Knox. Just a few seconds after the match started. He was pinned by HBK. Then it was Johnny Nitro vs Shawn Michaels. After bouncing off the ropes a few times, Michaels slid out of the ring and puts his arm around Melina. Melina thinking it was Nitro, put her arm around Michaels. She looked up and screamed and fell backwards. It was HILARIOUS!!!

Switching up we had CM Punk fighting Johnny Nitro. After applying the Anaconda Vise, Nitro tapped out. Two now eliminated from Team Rated-RKO. Maybe I am wrong but I haven't seen Punk use this move in a long time. I think it looks good and he should start using again. This match was awesome! There were bodies flying everywhere, submission moves, high-flying maneuvers, and a few power moves. It was all here!

Moving on closer to the end of the match...Matt eliminates Gregory Helms and then Edge and Orton are outside looking in at the still whole Team DX. They decide to take off, running up the entrance ramp. They get thrown back in the ring by the Hardys. This led to everyone in the ring getting in the action. Punches were being thrown at Edge and Orton by HBK and Triple H. Orton then gets clotheslined out of the ring by Triple H. On the other side of the ring, Punk charges at Edge in the corner with a knee to the face, followed by Poetry in Motion by the Hardys, then a Sweet Chin Music by HBK and pinned. Only one left...is Orton. Five on one. Team DX was in the ring staring down Orton on the outside when Orton tried to make a break for it over the guard rail. The Hardys and Punk chase him and Matt throws him back into the ring and Orton get Sweet Chin Music and then The Pedigree...1-2-3! Team DX WINS!!! Man, that was a GREAT match!

This was obviously a good tag match with more than 2 on a team. Unlike the Cena, Cryme Tyme vs JBL, Rhodes and DiBiase. These were all extremely talented performers. I really miss Gregory Helms. Hopefully he's coming back soon! Hopefully, this blog will make most of you want to go find this match! I know I enjoyed it. Thanks for reading!

    Saturday Night's Main Event

Saturday, August 2, 2008, 10:57 PM EST [General]

Well, tonight's Saturday Night's Main Event wasn't all that interesting. It was a good way to get people involved in Generation Rescue which I hope was a huge success.

Tonight's Saturday Night's Main Event consisted of 3 matches. First of which was an 8-man tag team match. The first team included John Cena, Batista and Cryme Tyme. The second team included JBL, Kane, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. I'm getting bored of seeing all of these men being put in matches together. So, I was bored of this match. This first match was won by JBL who picked up the win for his team after pinning JTG. Not much I can say about this match.

Ugh...Next match had Khali versus Jimmy Wang Yang. Hmm...who do you think won this match? Since Jimmy is basically a jobber now, Khali obviously got the win in this one. Khali is such a bore. Evertime I see Jimmy Wang Yang wrestle, it makes me madder and madder that there is no longer a Cruiserweight title! He is so entertaining!

Last match of the night had my favorite wrestler, Jeff Hardy against Edge. I thought this was going to be a good match. It wasn't. Okay, it wasn't good but it wasn't bad. One entertaining part of the match (even though my favorite guy got hurt) was when Jeff Hardy did that sort of flip off of the steel steps but Edge moved and he hit the security barrier. I wish Jeff didn't get hurt but it was a pretty good move to watch. I also love watching Jeff do that move that I think Jim Ross said was a "sort of sit down powerbomb". It just looks so cool. Anyway...MVP ended up interfering in another Jeff Hardy match by kicking Jeff in the head and running back into the crowd. So, Edge won the match. Grrrr....I can't wait to see these guys face off one-on-one.  Not one face wrestler won tonight. Upsetting. :(

    Smackdown Aug. 1, 2008

Friday, August 1, 2008, 11:07 PM EST [General]

Well, I can honestly say that tonight's Smackdown was the most entertaining I've seen in a long time! Starting off with Jeff Hardy making his way down to the ring is always a good way to start the show! I just love Jeff Hardy!

Anyway...Jeff Hardy is down to watch the match between MVP and Jimmy Wang Yang! Jimmy is so entertaining. Lately though, after his return from his suspension, he's been used mostly as a jobber. I guess he has to work his way back again. I hope that doesn't last long though, because he has too much talent to be wasted by being a jobber. After MVP won, Jeff came into the ring saying that if MVP ever mentioned the fire, his home or his dog again, he was going to show MVP what kind of man he really is, before delivering a Twist of Fate!

Next up was Mrrrrrrrr. Kennedddddddyyyyyyy!....Kennedy! vs U.S. Champ, Shelton Benjamin in a non-title match. Kennedy made me laugh with those multiple "KENNEDY!" outburts that he kept throwing at Benjamin. Pretty entertaining match. Kennedy wins with the "Mic Check". I don't care what anybody on here says...I really like that move! After the match, Eve tries to get a quick word from Shelton Benjamin about the match. Benjamin says he is "The Gold Standard", so he doesn't make excuses but says he shouldn't have even wrestled tonight because of a slight case of Bronchitis. Yeah, I thought he didn't "make excuses"?

The Brian Kendrick was next to wrestle Stevie Richards. Did you hear that crowd when Kendrick came out. Man, they don't like him! haha!  I do have to say that he is good on the mic, though. I also can't deny that Brian has real talent. I've always been a fan of his but this new gimmick is really turing me away from him. I hate that jacket! Ugh! There was one point in the match where I thought Stevie might actually win. Guess not.

Khali vs Jeff Hardy. I never thought I'd say that a match with Jeff Hardy was boring. It's all Khali though. That's what he does... no matter how amazing and talented his opponent is, the match sucks. He brings in down. To me, Khali has no talent. Maybe next week, Jeff Hardy will get to wrestle someone with talent. I thought Hardy had it won with a Whisper in the Wind followed by a Swanton but then MVP had to come down and mess things up!

Another R-Truth promo. Can't wait for him to debut! Another North Carolina guy!!! A lot of great wrestlers come from North Carolina...The Hardyz, Gregory Helms, Shannon Moore, Ron Killings, and of course Ric Flair!

Maria finally debuted on Smackdown tonight against Victoria. Good to see Victoria! I feel like I haven't seen her in a long time! She is one of my favorite Divas. Victoria comes out wearing a shirt showing her own car shop, "Black Widow Customs". Cute! Maria wins the match. I wish Victoria won, but it was still an entertaining match.

Big Show vs Domino. I personally liked and miss the tag team of Deuce and Domino. But oh well. It was funny, during the match, when Domino took of his shirt and threw it at Big Show, Jim Ross said "The old t-shirt in the face routine". I don't know why but I find that really funny. I'm giggling now as I type this. hehehe Umaga comes out after Big Show beats Domino. I actually forgot about Umaga. I didn't even know he was still in the WWE. I guess him coming out to "size up" the Big Show was a hint at a future feud between the two?

RANDOM NOTE: I wish WWE.com was still doing "Superstar Ink". Anyone know why they haven't done it in a while?

Now the thing I was really looking forward to seeing..."The Cutting Edge". Edge comes out to say that his guest is someone that knows the Undertaker more than anyone. I was thinking someone like Kane or Paul Bearer, even but Edge jumps out of the ring over to the announce table to reveal his mystery guest is Mick Foley. Edge mentions The Undertaker and Mick Foley's past in a Hell in a Cell match and wants Mick's help.  Edge says he put together a little video to remind us of Undertaker and Foley's past. We then had a trip down memory lane with an "Attitude Era" flashback. Also we see clips of Taker and Foley's infamous Hell in a Cell match. I can't believe that match was 10 years ago!!! Wow, how time flies! After the video Mick says that he will not and cannot help Edge, saying that the only one that can help Edge is Edge himself. Mick then goes on to say that if Edge brings to SummerSlam the "Edge" that we have seen lately, the one that takes shortcuts, the Edge that relies on his wife, the one that begs on his knees...then the Undertaker is going to destroy him! Mick said he needs to bring the Edge that he used to call "the greatest wrestler in the WWE". Mick said it all! It's about time someone said this to Edge. During all of this, Edge was on the verge of tears. As usual, Mick Foley gives an AMAZING speech. I had mad chills up and down my arms! Then asks Edge "Do you understand". After a few seconds, Edge says "yeah I understand" and hits Mick with the microphone. They fight to the outside where Mick gives a quick "BANG! BANG" gesture to the fans. Skipping to the end, Edge climbs the ladder to drop with a chair onto Mick. Pretty entertaining way to end Smackdown if you ask me.

Final words: Will we see a different Edge? The old Edge?
