    RAW 8-18-08

Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 06:19 PM EST [General]

Hey again. I'm here to give my thoughts on last night's RAW and to hear yours! First off, I want to say to those people who usually read my blogs that I have given up trying to write a blog on SummerSlam. I've started twice and both times, I somehow accidentally deleted it. So I assume that for some reason, I'm not meant to write it...

So, last night's RAW was very eventful. It starts off with Chris Jericho coming out to talk about his disgusting actions at SummerSlam. He states that what happened was an accident but refuses to take responsibility. He blames Shawn Michaels, saying that Shawn is the one that put Rebecca in harms way. He is really turning into a very mean heel. I like the other heel Jericho. I want that Jericho...

First match of the night is Batista going one-on-one with Paul Burchill. Did you see Batista trip as he was trying to get into the ring? HAHAHA That was quite funny. Burchill put up a good fight but was unable to overcome the Batista Bomb. Pretty good match but not my favorite.

Backstage segment with RAW General Manager, Mike Adamle introducing Raw's newest Superstar, Primo Colon, brother of Carlito. But apparently he isn't very important as Adamle blew him off to go and talk to John Cena. Pretty low to diss your new Superstar. Judging by the rumors of Carlito's anger of not being used properly has also fallen on his younger brother as well. He hasn't even started and is already getting pushed away. Nice job WWE!

Next match was a Divas tag match. We start off having to mute the television as Jillian is "singing". Eeekkk! She is teaming up with Katie Lea to take on Mickie James and Kelly Kelly. I swear, if Jillian loses any more weight, she is going to blow away. She is starting to look gross. I'm not one to go on about fashion and hair and all things girly but I loved all the Divas outfits. Especially Mickie's. It was adorable. Anyway...at one point in the match when Kelly jumped on Katie's shoulders, I thought she was gonna fall. I was holding my breath the whole time! haha Mickie and Kelly got the win after Mickie DDT'd Katie. Nice DDT by the way. Good match! QUICK NOTE: It's hard for me to watch Jillian take a hit now because she looks so fragile and I'm afraid she'll break...

Is anyone just as annoyed as I am at seeing Jamie Noble getting beaten up every week. He's a great wrester and I want to actually see him in a match with someone closer to his size so we can see actual competition. I hate squash matches! Noble was taken out by JBL this week after a few vicious clotheslines! Man, they were brutal! SIDE NOTE: I hate watching JBL do those multiple elbow drops. It's like drop, get up, drop, get up, drop, get up...it's not very impressive. It just looks like you are running out of things to do!

Then before a commercial break we hear that there is going to be a "Blockbuster Announcement". It turns out that at Unforgiven, there is going to be a new type of match called a "Championship Scramble", if I'm correct. I'm not sure I totally understand it completely but sounds interesting enough. The participants in this match are announced as current World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, Kane, JBL, Batista, and John Cena. This should be interesting...

Next up was Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase in an 2-on-1 match against John Cena. Before Cena comes out, we hear Cryme Tyme's music and they come flying down the entrance ramp. Shad gets up on the ring apron and JTG flies over, grabs the world tag titles and they are gone! HAHAHAHA NICE! I was laughing so hard! So, getting to the match. I'm starting to like Ted DiBiase. I may be going a little overboard but I think he is the next Randy Orton. Everytime I see him wrestle, I see Randy Orton. I think he'll make a great singles heel one day!!! Back to the match...I have already said how I despise the "Five Knuckle Shuffle"...(ugh even the name is stupid) but I love Cena's FU and STFU. I loved the way Cena did the STFU on Cody. It really looked painful!!! Pretty good match!

We then see a video from SummerSlam with Michael Cole trying to get a word from Shawn Michaels about Rebecca's condition. He says that he is going to go home and comfort his wife and then....and then...."and then what, SHAWN!?" There is NO WAY that this is over. Michaels is going to come back and tear Jericho apart!!!

Next up was Santino Marella vs D-Lo Brown. Pretty good match but ended in a Disqualification after Beth stepped in to get between Santino and D-Lo. D-Lo yelled at her to "get to steppin'" before she slapped him resulting in the ref calling for the bell. Santino steps in to "take care of it" but gets knocked out of the ring by D-Lo. This in turn caused Santino to hit the announce table where the former Intercontinental Champ, Kofi Kingston was seated. Kingston slams Santino's face into the annouce table. I love Kofi!

There was a promo for WWE 24/7 showing a Bikini Contest between Torrie Wilson and Stacy Keibler that resulted in Tajiri coming out to take Torrie away. Trish Stratus makes her way to the ring and pretty much wins the contest. The reason I brought this up is because I was wondering if there are any Trish Stratus or Lita DVDs? There should be!!! Especially Lita!

Kane comes out to new eerie theme music. I like it! Did it look like he had something in his teeth? Anyway...he does a good promo talking about how he doesn't like Rey Mysterio or anyone that does. haha This results in Rey's friend Batista storming down to the ring to confront Kane. Batista ends up getting chokeslammed. Is this a new feud?

Last match....Chris Jericho vs CM Punk. Punk got an amazing crowd response from his hometown of Chicago, Illinois. I bet that feels good to hear your hometown people cheer you on. Pretty great match between these two. Jericho did 2 really cool holds that I don't know the name of. It was pretty cool. CM Punk looked like he had the match won after a high knee to Jericho on the second rope and a bulldog. Jericho ends up hitting Punk with the Codebreaker for the win. Pretty interesting. I like the way both of these guys wrestle. Makes for a good match.

    So, there's my opinion....what's yours?

    SMACKDOWN Aug. 15, 2008

Saturday, August 16, 2008, 03:13 AM EST [General]

Hello again! Hope everyone enjoyed Smackdown as I did. Before I get to my Smackdown blog, I'd like to address the subject on the newly released Superstars! Stevie Richards! Are you kidding me!? Why Stevie!? He was one of my favorites! Also, what were they thinking in releasing Cherry!? Wasn't she one of the top Divas on Smackdown! I loved Cherry! I don't care so much about the release of Colin Delaney or The Highlanders. In my last blog, I expressed my surprise in the fact that they were still employed by the WWE. As for the referee, I don't really know him, so I can't say either way.

Now, getting to the show. It was a good one wasn't it!? Tazz was filling in for Mick Foley again this week. Glad to see this as I think he is a better commentator than Mick. Hopefully they make Tazz on Smackdown and Matt Striker on ECW as commentator permanent.

Starting out the night was my favorite...The Charasmatic Enigma, JEFF HARDY!!! He had a title match with Shelton Benjamin for the United States Championship. It was another "Battle of the Carolinas" this week.  As usual, throughout the match, their were continuous "HARDY!!" chants from the crowd. This match was a big improvement than the match they had last week. Last week, to me, was such a bore. This week it was a lot more entertaining! Even with MVP's involvement again this week. It's setting up to be quite a fight at SummerSlam between MVP and Jeff Hardy! I'm looking forward to it! Back to the match...my favorite part of it was when Shelton flipped over Jeff to, I guess "powerbomb" him to the outside and Hardy countered with a Hurricanrana! That was awesome! Then a double Swanton, one to MVP then one to Benjamin.

Next there was a backstage segment with Vickie Guerrero looking very frightened, especially when there was a knock at the door. Turns out to be Victoria. What are they friends now? haha Vickie's all paranoid that Edge and The Undertaker are both there and asks Victoria not to leave her alone.

Next up was the Divas tag match with Michelle McCool teaming up with Maria to take on the team of Natalya and Maryse. I'll start off by saying Maryse is still clumsy. Did you see her stumble a bit after pushing Maria? She can't even do something as simple as a little shove without tripping all over the place! Other than Maryse being a clumsy, no-talented wrestler...this match was pretty good. Obvioulsy being carried by Natalya and Michelle. I've tried so hard to like Maria but I just don't. I have to say that Michelle was exceptionally good in this match but it still wasn't enough as Natalya pinned her to win the match.

I guess when I heard that all of these Superstars were being released to make room for newer people, they weren't kidding. Tonight, we had two new Superstars. First up was Scotty Goldman. I'm not sure, as I have never seen Ring of Honor, but I think he also goes by the name Colt Cabana and has made a big name for himself. He had a great match tonight with THE Brian Kendrick. Before the match, they showed a little splitscreen promo of Scotty backstage where he was introducing himself before he got distracting saying "I'm trapped in a box!" Funny stuff! I like this guy! Judging by this match, he's pretty good in the ring and judging by his promo, he has good mic skills. I can see this guy going somewhere in the WWE!

Backstage was Eve interviewing Triple H. He starts to give his thoughts on the Great Khali when he's interrupted by Kenny Dykstra! Kenny tells The Game that he needs to be worrying about his match with him tonight. Triple H vs Kenny Dykstra, are you kidding!? Another guy I can't believe is still employed by the WWE. He hasn't been seen on tv in a VERY long time and then all of a sudden he's wrestling the WWE Champion?!?  I do have to say though, Kenny did put up a good fight but he is no where near Triple H's league! The Game does the Pedigree to Dykstra. Wasn't it funny seeing Kenny's arms flailing about trying to get out of it? haha Triple H wins the match before going to confront the Great Khali who was at ringside to watch the match. Ranjin Singh then steps forwards to stop him and Triple H grabs Ranjin by the throat and throws him in the ring trying to provoke Khali to come after him and when he does, he ends up being clotheslined out over the top rope. I really hope that Triple H beats Khali at SummerSlam but for some reason, I feel like Khali is going to win that one! Grrrr....

Next up was the Big Show. He makes his way to the ring with a HUGE smile on his face. He even takes time out to stop and hug a fan. Aww....I love the Big Show! hehe His opponent tonight was the other new Superstar I mentioned earlier. His name is Ryan Braddock. He's a pretty big guy and didn't look at all intimidated by The Big Show. I like this guy's look. He gave a pretty good match with the big man but couldn't stand up to that massive punch to the face which got the Big Show the win.

MVP backstage looked extremely angry talking about his SummerSlam opponent, Jeff Hardy. I still think it was in poor taste on the part of the WWE writers to have MVP continue mentioning Jeff's house burning down and his dog, Jack.

Another Vickie and Victoria segment. Vickie is telling Victoria that she thought it was a bad idea to come to the arena and asked for Victoria's help to her limo. This was followed by another R-Truth promo. Let him debut already. For goodness sakes, you are driving me crazy! I love Ron Killings. I can't wait to see him in the WWE!

Victoria and Vickie arrive at the limo only to find Edge is waiting in the limo. Edge gets out as Vickie is lying on the ground (what happened to Victoria?) and Edge puts her back in the wheelchair saying that they are gonna go for a little ride. Edge starts to spin her around in the wheelchair and as he pushes her away from the camera....he clicked his heels! It was hilarious, I guess he's been watching Finlay and Hornswoggle! haha

Now, the match that in my last blog I said would happen this week....Festus vs Vladimir Koslov. This was the first exciting match I have seen with Koslov. Festus is awesome! He made this match enjoyable. It was a great match as both men took a beating as Jesse grimaced from ringside. Unfortunately, Festus lost the match and Koslov is still undefeated. I have a prediction but at the risk of sounding dumb, I'm going to keep it to myself a little longer...

We get back to Edge and Vickie as he is tormenting her by running her into things only to say "oops...accidents happen, Vickie". haha Her hair was a mess. She unconvincingly screams in terror. After a commecial break, Edge and Vickie make their way down the entrance ramp where Edge flips her out of her wheelchair. He then plopped down beside her where they watch a "special" video. Edge then starts screaming at Vickie telling her everything is her fault and orders her to apologize to the Undertaker. This guy has lost his noodles! I think I like this Edge. He's more entertaining. hehe I think the Hell in a Cell match at SummerSlam is going to rock and despite what the WWE is trying to get us to believe...the Cena/Batista match will NOT be the highlight of the night. It's gonna be the Edge/Undertaker match!!!

CLOSING THOUGHTS: Well, more of a suggestion, really. I hope that the two new Superstars don't get used badly. They both look pretty talented. To get a good push, they should've won their debut matches. Otherwise, no one really cares about them. They are just another couple of jobbers. I think a good push for Scotty Goldman should've been him beating THE Brian Kendrick and then Ezekial come in to take him out and then Kendrick and Goldman could've started a little feud! But that's just what I think. Thanks for reading and I appreciate the time you took to read this...sorry it got sooo long....

    ECW Aug. 12, 2008

Wednesday, August 13, 2008, 08:04 PM EST [General]

Hello everyone! I'm here again to give you my thoughts on last night's ECW!

Matt Striker was again filling in for Tazz as color commentator. I absolutley love, love LOVE him as a commentator! He's amazing. He knows his facts and wrestling history. I hope he ends up staying permanently.

Oh my gosh, Tommy Dreamer won a match! Oh wait...it was only against Colin Delaney. I mean really, people! I guess they are trying to put a little "extreme" in last night's ECW by putting them in an "Extreme Rules" match but it wasn't a very good. Glad Dreamer finally got a win, though!

Evan Bourne vs Bam Neely! I know I'm probably starting to sound a little repetitive in my blogs but I have to say it: I LOVE EVAN BOURNE! He is sooo cool. I wish there were more wrestlers like him! I get so nervous watching him so the Shooting Star Press. But I think that is also what makes that move so exciting!

Armando Estrada's first match as an ECW Superstar was against Finlay. Just as I thought would happen, Mike Know watched the match from the top of the entrance ramp. I hope they start this feud between Knox and Finlay soon. I think it'd be quite interesting to see these guys go one-on-one!

Backstage segment with Teddy Long, Ricky Ortiz and Tiffany. Ortiz is going on about blah, blah, blah. I don't even know. Teddy tells Ricky that he will be facing another new Superstar next week from the New Superstar Initiative. I wonder who it is. Hope it is someone who is good. I also hope that this person's gimmick doesn't fail them or they don't get enough hype and get let go too quickly...*cough* Chris Harris*cough* I'll say this again, when Braeden Walker aka Chris Harris was in TNA, he was awesome. He was part of a great tag team and I hate that he wasn't used properly.

Last match of the night was Matt Hardy and Mark Henry vs John Morrison and The Miz. Even on Mark Henry, the new ECW title looks enormous!!! I didn't know that the remark from either Miz and Morrison about Mark needing an extender on the belt was true. Last night was the first time I noticed it. Anyway...I just wanted to mention that. I think that belt is just going to look weird on anyone else. It is sooo big! Pretty good match, I guess. Nothing too exciting. Matt gets the pin after a Side Effect to Morrison. After the match Mark goes to hold up Matt's hand, then BAM! He hits Hardy with the World's Strongest Slam.

Closing thoughts...I hope Matt Hardy beats Mark Henry at SummerSlam!

    RAW 8-11-08

Tuesday, August 12, 2008, 04:37 PM EST [General]

First I want to mention something...although I am not really a Randy Orton fan, I was stunned to hear that he was in a motorcycle accident that ended up with him reinjuring his broken collarbone. What is it with the collarbone injured Superstars reinjuring themselves. Both Orton and Candice Michelle have done that. Anyway, I hope Orton gets better!

This weeks RAW starts off with one-half of the new World Tag Team Champions, John Cena talking about his upcoming match at SummerSlam. He then calls out Batista and the two go on to say which one of them is better...blah blah blah. I'm so annoyed when Cena comes out to do promos. I know he's one of the guys on top in the WWE but he's always talking about how the people want to see him in the ring and he should be in the main event. Is that why all the fans seem to boo you wherever you go, Cena? Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on Cena. I have NOTHING against John Cena. It's just, let someone else be on top, back off for a while. I think he needs to take time off. At least for a little while. Did you see the crowd reaction when Cena returned at the Royal Rumble!? They went crazy! I have chills right now, just thinking about it. So, I think he needs to take time off and let the fans have time without him for a while so they will miss him. Am I making sense? I'm not that big of a fan of Cena or Batista but I think I want Batista to win at SummerSlam.

Kelly Kelly is up next to face Beth Phoenix. It was no question who was going to win this match. I think Kelly Kelly has gotten a lot better in the ring but she still isn't up to the standards of The Glamazon. There was one part in this match that I thought Beth almost dropped Kelly on her neck. After the replay, it didn't look as bad but it still made me gasp. QUICK NOTE: Where did Santino's unibrow come from? It's so distracting! After beating Kelly, Santino comes into the ring to tell Beth to do another move to Kelly to "send a message" to Mickie James. Then out comes Mickie James and Kofi Kingston!!! Santino then makes a challenge for a preview to SummerSlam, not to Kofi but to MICKIE JAMES! She accepts...

This was interesting to see Mickie versus Santino. Mickie can definitely hold her own against the men of the WWE! After a distraction, Beth interferes by throwing Mickie into the ringpost and Santino pins Mickie. I bet this defeat is really going to help Mickie to up her game for her match with Kofi against Beth and Santino at SummerSlam. This is one of the matches that I'm looking forward to seeing!

There is a backstage segment that ends up with General Manager, Mike Adamle and Kane. Adamle says that he's going to need Kane to hand over the bag because it's bad for business. Stating that children are going back to school soon and he didn't want kids following in Kane's footsteps by carrying around burlap bags scaring their classmates. HAHAHA Silly General Manager. He makes me laugh! He doesn't seem to be intimidated by Kane, either.

Next up was the return of The Highlanders versus Cryme Tyme. To be honest, I can't believe The Highlandes are still in the WWE. I thought they would've been released. Especially after the incident with Robbie being seen on TV at a TNA Impact show. Surprisingly, they are still here. Anyway, pretty good match between these two tag teams. I thought that was a pretty interesting way that JTG got into the ring. I'm not sure how to describe it but those of you who saw it, you'll know what I am talking about. If Cryme Tyme pulls off more moves like this, they'll definitely make their way to the top of my favorite tag teams!

I was absolutley interested to see what kind of challenge JBL was going to make to CM Punk. I was a little nervous to find out that it was a drinking contest. For a minute, I thought Punk was going to throw out his values and drink it but thankfully, CM Punk is a man of his word. No alcohol for this Straightedge Superstar! Good for you, Punk! He throws the alcohol in JBL's face. Haha JBL, that's what you get for trying to go up against the World Heavyweight Champion!

Earlier in the night Mike Adamle made a match between Kane and Chris Jericho. During the match, Mike Adamle made his way to the ring followed by security. This distracted Kane while Jericho hit him with the Codebreaker to win the match. Kane grabs the burlap bag and clings to it like a little baby trying to protect his little teddy bear, as Adamle enters the ring. Mike goes on to say that he knows what is in the bag and he knows who Kane's been talking about when he said "Is he alive, or is he dead?" Adamle said Kane has been talking about himself. Kane then reveals what has been in the bag. While most fans here on Fan Nation have been saying it was Kane's old mask, it turned out to be a mask...except it wasn't Kane's mask. It was Rey Mysterio's!!! I guess this explains Rey's absence.

William Regal went one-on-one with Jamie Noble. Regal had this psychotic look on his face when he was walking down the entrance ramp. He looked CRAZY! Anyway...little Jamie Noble put up a good fight against Regal but was unable to beat him.

Last match of the night had the new World Tag Team Champions Batista and John Cena versus Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase in a rematch. Cena and Batista still couldn't put their differences aside during this match and they lost the titles to Rhodes and DiBiase. I knew Batista and Cena wouldn't remain tag team champs for long. The show ended with security trying to keep Cena and Batista from attacking each other. Although it was pretty entertaining to watch this little scuffle between the two, it still doesn't make me care about their match at SummerSlam.

Six days to SummerSlam. Although it doesn't seem like a good pay-per-view all around, there are still a few matches I really want to see! Looking forward to those few...until next time....

    A little late...

Saturday, August 9, 2008, 10:04 PM EST [General]

I know I usually post my review blogs right after the shows but I was a little busy so I decided to just wait and post my Smackdown review today. So here we go...

The Olympic Six-Diva Tag Team Match was pretty entertaining. I thought Victoria's entrance was pretty hilarious but I really do wish she was like the old Victoria. Ya know, the crazy, mean, hard-to-defeat Victoria! I loved the part of the match when all the Divas were in the ring wrestling. I like the chaos! It's so much more exciting. Natalya got the win for her team with a Sharpshooter on Maria. I really wish that her opponents would last a little longer in it. It's like, they all tap before she can even finish applying the move. It would look so much cooler if we got to see them scream in pain before tapping. I know that sounds bad on my part, wanting to see people in pain...because I don't but if they want to make that move look impressive (which we all know it is) her opponents just need to last a little longer than a millisecond. But other than that, this was a good match.

Sad to see Shannon Moore's last match as a member of the WWE. It's a shame that he has been used as a jobber for so long. He is an amazing talent. I don't understand why he wasn't used properly! Anyway...I still don't think Hawkins and Ryder are Champion material. It was hard to get into this match, as I was still upset over Moore's release from the company!!!

Another boring Jeff Hardy match this week. I hate saying that. Especially since Jeff is my favorite WWE Superstar!!! But what's really weird is this week's match was against the United States Champion, Shelton Benjamin. Two of the best wrestlers today and they had such a boring match! In my opinion, anyway. It was slow, especially after Shelton applyed a chin lock to Hardy 3 times. I like matches that are face-paced and chaotic! This was definitely not one of them. Then add MVP's cheap shot, kicking Jeff Hardy in the head, ending the match. I guess it just adds more to their match at SummerSlam, which I am getting more and more excited to see.

An Indian Broken Glass Arm Wrestling Match. Sounds interesting. Not as much as I thought it was. It's just, anything with Khali bores me to death. I was wondering how this was going to end though. Then came the Vise Grip. This is so hard for me to watch. Not because it looks disturbing, just because I think it is dumb. But again...it's just my opinion. All of you Vise Grip fans, don't chew my head off!

I was excited to see who Vladimir Koslov's opponent was going to be this week. Then came the "BISCUITS AND GRAVY"! I really like Jesse and Festus. I was like "Oh yeah! Can't wait to see Koslov try to defeat Festus" and then we find out he's facing Jesse. The WWE was teasing us with that. Maybe in the near future we'll see if they decide to put Koslov and Festus together. Judging by the look Koslov was giving Festus after defeating Jesse, I'd say the match between them isn't far off.

The Brian Kendrick vs Super Crazy. First off, I have a question...why exactly was Super Crazy wearing an ECW t-shirt when he is a member of the Smackdown roster? I don't know. Anyway... I still hate Kendrick's entrance. Why would any normal human being think that walking like that looks cool? Ugh. Makes me want to trip him. At least then, he wouldn't look as stupid! haha I still think he is a great wrestler. I really hate that Super Crazy is a jobber. He is so good. But I guess they need someone to build others off of. I just wish they'd use the guys that can't wrestle. Stop using guys like Super Crazy and Shannon Moore. Well, I guess it doesn't matter anymore about Shannon...~Sniffle~Sniffle~

I just had a feeling that the one taking out the members of "La Familia" throughout the night was NOT the Undertaker! I have to say, I am liking this crazy, psycho Edge. Minus those stupid faces he keeps making.  It was quite funny to see him flip Vickie out of her wheelchair. Then he continued to taunt her in the ring while she screamed in terror. I hate watching her do that. It doesn't always look convincing. Edge was right, though. This is the Edge he needs to bring to SummerSlam...not because I want to see him beat the Undertaker. I definitely want to see Undertaker win but if Edge brings the Edge we've seen the past couple of Smackdowns, then this is going to be one heck of a match!

Well, we have just a little over a week before SummerSlam. I can't wait to see it! Thanks for reading my blog and I hope to see what you all have to say...
