Hello again! Hope everyone enjoyed Smackdown as I did. Before I get to my Smackdown blog, I'd like to address the subject on the newly released Superstars! Stevie Richards! Are you kidding me!? Why Stevie!? He was one of my favorites! Also, what were they thinking in releasing Cherry!? Wasn't she one of the top Divas on Smackdown! I loved Cherry! I don't care so much about the release of Colin Delaney or The Highlanders. In my last blog, I expressed my surprise in the fact that they were still employed by the WWE. As for the referee, I don't really know him, so I can't say either way.
Now, getting to the show. It was a good one wasn't it!? Tazz was filling in for Mick Foley again this week. Glad to see this as I think he is a better commentator than Mick. Hopefully they make Tazz on Smackdown and Matt Striker on ECW as commentator permanent.
Starting out the night was my favorite...The Charasmatic Enigma, JEFF HARDY!!! He had a title match with Shelton Benjamin for the United States Championship. It was another "Battle of the Carolinas" this week. As usual, throughout the match, their were continuous "HARDY!!" chants from the crowd. This match was a big improvement than the match they had last week. Last week, to me, was such a bore. This week it was a lot more entertaining! Even with MVP's involvement again this week. It's setting up to be quite a fight at SummerSlam between MVP and Jeff Hardy! I'm looking forward to it! Back to the match...my favorite part of it was when Shelton flipped over Jeff to, I guess "powerbomb" him to the outside and Hardy countered with a Hurricanrana! That was awesome! Then a double Swanton, one to MVP then one to Benjamin.
Next there was a backstage segment with Vickie Guerrero looking very frightened, especially when there was a knock at the door. Turns out to be Victoria. What are they friends now? haha Vickie's all paranoid that Edge and The Undertaker are both there and asks Victoria not to leave her alone.
Next up was the Divas tag match with Michelle McCool teaming up with Maria to take on the team of Natalya and Maryse. I'll start off by saying Maryse is still clumsy. Did you see her stumble a bit after pushing Maria? She can't even do something as simple as a little shove without tripping all over the place! Other than Maryse being a clumsy, no-talented wrestler...this match was pretty good. Obvioulsy being carried by Natalya and Michelle. I've tried so hard to like Maria but I just don't. I have to say that Michelle was exceptionally good in this match but it still wasn't enough as Natalya pinned her to win the match.
I guess when I heard that all of these Superstars were being released to make room for newer people, they weren't kidding. Tonight, we had two new Superstars. First up was Scotty Goldman. I'm not sure, as I have never seen Ring of Honor, but I think he also goes by the name Colt Cabana and has made a big name for himself. He had a great match tonight with THE Brian Kendrick. Before the match, they showed a little splitscreen promo of Scotty backstage where he was introducing himself before he got distracting saying "I'm trapped in a box!" Funny stuff! I like this guy! Judging by this match, he's pretty good in the ring and judging by his promo, he has good mic skills. I can see this guy going somewhere in the WWE!
Backstage was Eve interviewing Triple H. He starts to give his thoughts on the Great Khali when he's interrupted by Kenny Dykstra! Kenny tells The Game that he needs to be worrying about his match with him tonight. Triple H vs Kenny Dykstra, are you kidding!? Another guy I can't believe is still employed by the WWE. He hasn't been seen on tv in a VERY long time and then all of a sudden he's wrestling the WWE Champion?!? I do have to say though, Kenny did put up a good fight but he is no where near Triple H's league! The Game does the Pedigree to Dykstra. Wasn't it funny seeing Kenny's arms flailing about trying to get out of it? haha Triple H wins the match before going to confront the Great Khali who was at ringside to watch the match. Ranjin Singh then steps forwards to stop him and Triple H grabs Ranjin by the throat and throws him in the ring trying to provoke Khali to come after him and when he does, he ends up being clotheslined out over the top rope. I really hope that Triple H beats Khali at SummerSlam but for some reason, I feel like Khali is going to win that one! Grrrr....
Next up was the Big Show. He makes his way to the ring with a HUGE smile on his face. He even takes time out to stop and hug a fan. Aww....I love the Big Show! hehe His opponent tonight was the other new Superstar I mentioned earlier. His name is Ryan Braddock. He's a pretty big guy and didn't look at all intimidated by The Big Show. I like this guy's look. He gave a pretty good match with the big man but couldn't stand up to that massive punch to the face which got the Big Show the win.
MVP backstage looked extremely angry talking about his SummerSlam opponent, Jeff Hardy. I still think it was in poor taste on the part of the WWE writers to have MVP continue mentioning Jeff's house burning down and his dog, Jack.
Another Vickie and Victoria segment. Vickie is telling Victoria that she thought it was a bad idea to come to the arena and asked for Victoria's help to her limo. This was followed by another R-Truth promo. Let him debut already. For goodness sakes, you are driving me crazy! I love Ron Killings. I can't wait to see him in the WWE!
Victoria and Vickie arrive at the limo only to find Edge is waiting in the limo. Edge gets out as Vickie is lying on the ground (what happened to Victoria?) and Edge puts her back in the wheelchair saying that they are gonna go for a little ride. Edge starts to spin her around in the wheelchair and as he pushes her away from the camera....he clicked his heels! It was hilarious, I guess he's been watching Finlay and Hornswoggle! haha
Now, the match that in my last blog I said would happen this week....Festus vs Vladimir Koslov. This was the first exciting match I have seen with Koslov. Festus is awesome! He made this match enjoyable. It was a great match as both men took a beating as Jesse grimaced from ringside. Unfortunately, Festus lost the match and Koslov is still undefeated. I have a prediction but at the risk of sounding dumb, I'm going to keep it to myself a little longer...
We get back to Edge and Vickie as he is tormenting her by running her into things only to say "oops...accidents happen, Vickie". haha Her hair was a mess. She unconvincingly screams in terror. After a commecial break, Edge and Vickie make their way down the entrance ramp where Edge flips her out of her wheelchair. He then plopped down beside her where they watch a "special" video. Edge then starts screaming at Vickie telling her everything is her fault and orders her to apologize to the Undertaker. This guy has lost his noodles! I think I like this Edge. He's more entertaining. hehe I think the Hell in a Cell match at SummerSlam is going to rock and despite what the WWE is trying to get us to believe...the Cena/Batista match will NOT be the highlight of the night. It's gonna be the Edge/Undertaker match!!!
CLOSING THOUGHTS: Well, more of a suggestion, really. I hope that the two new Superstars don't get used badly. They both look pretty talented. To get a good push, they should've won their debut matches. Otherwise, no one really cares about them. They are just another couple of jobbers. I think a good push for Scotty Goldman should've been him beating THE Brian Kendrick and then Ezekial come in to take him out and then Kendrick and Goldman could've started a little feud! But that's just what I think. Thanks for reading and I appreciate the time you took to read this...sorry it got sooo long....

I agree with you on it all this week!!! Edge/undertaker Hell In A Cell will be the highlight of Summer Slam!! And ok I really liked the R-Truth segment this week!!! And check my Smack Down Blog out i have more things to say about the releases WWE made as well as the new guys!!! Love this Blog!!!!
