    On the Horizon

Friday, October 30, 2009, 09:57 AM EST [General]

General Manager Tiffany was this week's guest on The Abraham Washington Show. Tiffany eloquently answered Washington's questions on the impact ECW had at Bragging Rights, Sheamus's relocation to RAW and her healing arm. Regal, still charging at walls, implored Tiffany for another ECW Championship match. Tiffany boldly denied the royal one yet again. All of this rejection has made William Regal a loose cannon and he took his frustrations out on the furniture. Tiffany still stands firm on her decision. Should she decide to give William Regal a title match, it will be on her terms not imposed upon by William Regal. While it is great she stands up for herself and asserts her power, Regal could find other ways of applying pressure to this GM!

Anyone who thinks Shelton Benjamin is mediocre needs his or her eyes checked. I have always been a fan of this natural athlete and, in my opinion, next ECW Champion. So, it is no secret that I was hugely disappointed that Sheamus got his last win over Shelton Tuesday night. The future is so alive and bright for Benjamin and it's high time he start to go after the goods! I do wonder though how The All American American Jack Swagger will receive The Celtic Warrior. Hope Hornswoggle doesn't mock the rogue redhead!

The battle was sensational between ECW Champion Christian and Yoshi Tatsu! Yoshi's resiliency and drive was perhaps more than what Christian was expecting. That's a good thing. It'll keep Christian on his toes and give Yoshi more confidence going into the next battle these two have. Yes, there will be more, maybe several. Christian came through in the end but was quickly pulverized by the Royal Regime.

I admire Tiffany's vision of inviting new talent in and giving them a chance to succeed; develop, develop, develop. The talent is there and while some more might be good, a minute of unattended talent is a terrible thing to waste.  Already, Jericho has had a watchful eye over the vulnerable newcomers. "Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime."

    A Hot Cup Of Kofi

Wednesday, October 28, 2009, 10:09 AM EST [General]

The longer the day ticks on the more I ponder the craziness of this world and my place in that world. When left alone this kind of thinking leads to many Scooby snacks, books, bad lighting, and fuzzy slippers. Constantly exploring and sifting through the layers upon layers that formulate who I am, I've come to one solid conclusion. It is the most compelling and telling insight to date into "what makes Flawless tick". I sometimes see life the way it SHOULD be, not the way it actually IS. I tend to migrate outside the box rather than just stepping away from it. I find it's best to not get caught up in the drama of everyday life. However, everyday drama is the very stuff that keeps us connected to life. The drama is a writer's dream! It's a catch 22 and a balance that constantly needs maintenance checks from every angle. And for every angle, another side of the story is told.

So, let's see who made MY news this week.

General Manager Theodore Long struck a huge deal with The Big Show recently by allowing him a World Heavyweight Championship match against The Undertaker in exchange for the assurance Team SmackDown would win Bragging Rights. Betrayal meant nothing to The Big Show and a man with nothing to lose and everything to gain is the most dangerous man in the WWE! Show may still be a proud member of the RAW roster but the RAW roster wasn't proud of SHOW. Revenge was sought. And after a night shrouded in mystery as to whom exactly will be the next in line to face Cena at Survivor Series, it was announced that a triple threat is in order: DX vs. Cena for the WWE Championship. And we all know how well these things go.

I think when Kofi Kingston lost his accent he may have lost some of his marbles as well. I admire Kofi's guts and reckless abandon. However, blatant attacks involving ANYTHING Randy Orton is just an invitation to Hell! You don't just get Orton, you get Legacy too. I hope Kofi knows what he's doing.  I must point out too that Randy hasn't been the same since the Iron Man Match and destroying the car (a gift no less) from Legacy may have just sealed Kofi's fate. Randy WILL go all the way to the board if he has to to get the WWE Championship back. Everyone on the roster now has Cena's face and Kofi just set Orton off even more! Randy's rampage will be bold and spontaneous. Yes!

A Cease and Desist Order didn't phase Hornswoggle. He still wore the DX gear with pride even when he interfered in the dramedy match. That's right, between Santino's comedy and Chavo's drama; it was entertainment at its best. The Diva's Champion Melina and Jillian Hall brought the action. Side Note: White Collar on USA is FABULOUS!

    • 1) So, I guess Shelton Benjamin is nothing more than a footnote to Sheamus now that he's on RAW. But FYI Sheamus, usually people don't announce that they're making impressions. They just do it. Welcome to RAW.
    • 2) I'd love to see Evan Bourne make a run for the U.S. Title. The Miz and Swagger are distracted with wooing Eve.
    • 3) I wished Legacy stole the RAW and SmackDown cars from Kyle and Joey and drove off with them!

And I can't stress this one enough

    • 4) Don't leave Randy alone with the PYRO PEOPLE!!!!!

In other news, The Big Show faced everyone and lost. And we couldn't have been happier. Sorry big guy. You had it coming.

Has anyone REALLY ever been a day late and dollar short? REALLY?

Quick, somebody catch Jericho. Harry Potter called and wants his Quidditch Cup back!

    The Get Along Gang

Wednesday, October 21, 2009, 09:25 AM EST [General]

It was the D-O-Double G rollin' into RAW this week with an "it's not personal, it's just business" frame of mind. DX rattled off a few "izzles" which was hilarious but when Shawn told Hunter to shut his mizzle, I lost it! And so did Team RAW!  The team consisting of DX, Big Show, Swagger, Rhodes, Kingston and Henry all look great together. The Seven Dwarfs and The Little Rascals all pale in comparison to Team RAW! Each man has his own agenda, ego and reluctance to play well with others. If the rambunctious rag tag band of men can hold it together and work with each other for just one night, RAW might stand a chance. As it looked Monday night, Team SmackDown has the upper hand. There may be new talent on board but with one goal circling them, they may just get the job the done. SmackDown can and will take advantage of RAW's animosity and prove to be the dominant brand after all.  Looks like DX has got their work cut out for them!

Through my unique perspective which could be a little off these days, here's how I see the Randy Orton/Ted DiBiase relationship. Ted said Randy would've done the same thing, pinning him, if he had the chance last week. The truth is he's absolutely right! Randy SO would've taken advantage of that opportunity and Orton even knew it. This isn't so much a budding feud, more of a test really. Maybe Randy's ultimate plan for DiBiase IS to have Ted beat him! It's all about respect for Randy and what better way to show The Viper respect than to beat the man who has trained and guided him so far. It would prove he's ready. It would prove Randy taught him well and if he's capable of beating the WWE Champion, than he's definitely capable of beating anyone on the roster. DiBiase is almost there! He's almost ready to leave the nest for bigger and better things. We want it FOR him. He's just got to take the plunge. Randy gave him the choice. But Ted knows that if he does decide to break free, he better go after Randy with both barrels blazing or else another RKO may be on the menu! Not so easy making the decisions when you have to make them yourself, is it?

John Cena faced Triple H in what could've been his last match on RAW. I don't know how wise it was to put Cena OR Orton in matches with a 60 Minute Anything Goes Iron Man Match just around the corner but Cena and HHH gave us something to remember. Triple H won, yes, but it took 3 Pedigrees to do it. How's THAT for a message??

Snoop surprised us when he brought Marty Jannetty back to square off against The U.S. Champion, The Miz. The Miz was able to showcase his Skull Crushing Finale on Jannetty but Marty proved he could still rock his way around the ring and into our lives again.

Chavo Guerrero accompanied Jillian Hall to the ring for her rematch with Divas Champion Melina. So, not good for Melina, right? The two had a longer match than last week but still the current Divas Champion stays that way. Of course, Chavo tried to pull one over, Hornswoggle thwarted Chavo's ill conceived plan, and The DOGG himself had to get involved. He got some Gangsta Luv on Chavo and partied with the DIVAS! Homie Hornswoggle can move! Damn!

Chris Jericho wanted to start the great divide early so he brought out his team to face Shawn Michaels? No, Team RAW was close at hand to level off the playing field. After a brief standstill and Vickie Guerrero's annoying "excuse me" interruption, total chaos ensued and the battle was underway. What is it with those Guerreros anyway???

Well, time to get my iTunes on!

    Tyme For A Good Storm?

Monday, October 19, 2009, 10:16 AM EST [General]

Chris Jericho is one half of the Unified Tag Team Champions and NOW co-captain of Team SmackDown for the upcoming Bragging Rights PPV. GM Teddy Long entrusted this responsibility to the confident and braggadocios expert Jericho. And Chris does not take that responsibility lightly. Kane crashed the party to inform the decorated veteran that he will be running the team as well. There was no permission necessary. Jericho had no choice but to accept the prospect. I don't think he would've turned the notion down anyway. Who would've pegged Kane a team player? Or, does the Big Red Machine have another agenda? With The Big Show on Team RAW and Kane wanting to step in for Team SmackDown, things could get really big really fast. Love it!

    And so it began...

The sparkle of Ireland Finlay faced Mike Knox and Dolph Ziggler to see who would join the team. The audience got so silent for a period of time and I figured it was the calm before the storm. I was right.  That storm is none other than Storm Ziggler and its headed straight for a city near you! But first, he'll be rolling into Bragging Rights. To Do: Buy raincoat!

Joining Team SmackDown will be the Babes of Brooklyn Cryme Tyme! I'm so proud of CT and how much they've improved over the year. If you go back to a match even just five or six months ago, the transformation is amazing. They've always been tight as brothers but now they apply that to their matches. They make quicker tags, conserve energy when needed yet maintain their excitement level, speed and agility to keep the audience entertained. They work extremely well together. Again, I'm hardly an expert, quite the opposite. But they look great! However, The Hart Dynasty is concerning me. This discussion is best left for another time though.

With Mickie James and Beth Phoenix added to the SmackDown roster, the Diva competition just heated up!

My word is Vickie Guerrero back and in full swing! She never missed a beat while off and about in VG world. She has a new boyfriend and rung on the ladder, Eric Escobar. I do have a slight confession. I found my hips swaying to Eric's entrance music. Moving on, Escobar faced Matt Hardy who is always game for anything.  Unfortunately for Hardy, Vickie pulled a fast one with her uninjured ankle providing her lover with the window of opportunity to get the win. He's headed to Bragging Rights. The more things change the more they stay the same.

It was The Dirt Sheet Divided! Raw (red) and SmackDown (blue), The Miz vs. John Morrison. One, a U.S. Champion and the other the Intercontinental Champion; yet you put them both together and you get great TV.  Who knew? These two have some unresolved issues.  FYI, I loved The Rockers (both of them)!

R-Truth sought some revenge on Drew McIntyre who has done nothing but attack Truth since entering the WWE.  McIntyre continued to prove his dominance over Truth and wrestled him for a spot on Team SmackDown. A frustrated R-Truth was left wondering what it will take to one up the new guy!

What started off as a friendly/brotherly little sparring match between Batista and Rey Mysterio ended quite suspiciously. Batista took the higher road as he DID have perfect reason to get upset for falling to Rey. A lifted shoulder and the positioning of the referee allowed Rey to get the win. I'm curious though as to whether or not they can keep their friendship intact after the Fatal-4-Way that includes a shady Punk and a Deadman!

    Happy Days, Oh Happy Days,

    Change Is In The Air

Monday, October 19, 2009, 08:35 AM EST [General]

There is something about the fall that gets every aspect of "ME" distracted, energized and imaginative. Maybe it sounds nerdy but I love school time. I love the change in foliage, the crisp weather, the warmer clothes, the holidays, etc.  It's the death and rebirth of nature itself. The circle of life can easily be witnessed the most in the fall. Halloween is right around the corner: All Hallows' eve.  Most of us enjoy celebrating Halloween but most, if not all, do not know the origin behind Halloween. Crack the Wikipedia and find out. It's pretty interesting stuff. Not only will you be amused but you can inform someone else and they will think you're a plethora of knowledge. I love the smell of fall too. I can't describe the smell accurately but it's so distinct. When you take the fall sniff sniff, you can tell the weather is changing. Basically, change is in the air and I smell it.

I've been a bit preoccupied lately and my blogs have suffered for it. But I'm here to say that Bragging Rights is shaping up to be a much anticipated PPV.  But before we get into the Big B.R., I must comment on ECW last week. Paul Burchill is the man to watch out for. Well, he's the man I'm keeping an eye on. The other eye stays on his sister at ringside, Katie Lea. His match with The Hurricane found him trapped in the Superhero's snare throughout. However, Burchill seized control to get the win. You know, now that Regal and Royals are in charge, I'm surprised the Hurricave isn't a buzz with S.O.S.'s!

The Celtic Warrior seems a little green with envy when it comes to Shelton Benjamin. If he were to use Benjamin as a mere stepping stone to the top of the WWE ladder like he said, then why waste time coaxing The Gold Standard? Why not just move on? Could it be that Shelton presents an even bigger roadblock than he originally anticipated?

Mark my words. There will be an ECW uprising sooner rather than later. William Regal, Vladimir Kozlov and Ezekiel Jackson are dangling the roster over the edge of the castle and throwing the newbies scraps to eat. Eventually, someone (eh hem Christian), will become the conquering hero and organize a strategy to rid the ECW of William's rule. Will we see a stand of a band of merry men? I certainly hope so. Actually, DISorganization could the key in making this happen. Random is always great; and random, like nature, always finds a way.

To anyone who finds ECW the weakest of the three shows, you're not looking deep enough. There's buried treasure if you dig far enough down in the dirt and there's always consequences for doing that. ECW could prove to be the oil well we've been hoping for.

Get your shovel and prepare to get dirty.
