I can't believe how addicted I've become to this blogging thing. I love it. My Hub is my home. I feel safe here. Even though I am about to talk about the weirdness that was Monday night's RAW ,I can't help but wonder what else I can yammer on and on about without boring the blah blah out of everyone, including myself! Anyway, here's the skinny from MY point of view on Monday night:
It was a weid day and to top it all off, the show was really strange right from the get go. Did anyone else feel that way?? It was really bizarre to me. Something was off and I hope it doesn't stay that way. I just found it a little "out-of-sorts."
Adamle and JBL....WHAT???? It was ten minutes of EVERYTHING we heard last week. I just didn't get it. I know there is an entertainment silent rule somewhere that says you set 'em up and I will knock 'em down. But good grief, Charlie Brown, can we PLEASE move on. And so....it did. Later on. So, Thank you. My ears have since stopped bleeding. My little rant can stop.
Kofi Kingston is still the happy little daredevil and that's fine. Katie Lea describes her brother as vicious and beautiful, although, one could argue that she, too, is vicious and beautiful. So, is she just describing herself? I just don't know. She's still more interesting to me than her brother. Sorry, that I'm a little cranky. I had a birthday to cook for and coof for and cook for so I'm exhausted and ..well..miffed if you will.
William Regal still thinks he king...delusions of grandure again, William? I'm starting to get worried. Ric Flair and WWE parted ways, I just read. So, yeh..I'm bummed and ****in'.
Who is dressing these DIVAS???? This was another thing that was weird to me...I finally noticed what these DIVAS are wearing. It never bothered me before but someone should ask it. I don't mean to take anything out on Micki James again but where the hell is the POW WOW???? What up with the tights doll? You're better than that. Wow...I am a crankass today. And the Glamzon? What was that outfit all about. People!!!!!!!!
On the plus side, I did like to see Jericho in trunks! Here's a reason why I like Jericho. He always tries to keep it interesting even if it's a minor costume change. He at least tries to shake it up a bit. I liked it, is what I'm saying. And talk about in the nick of time! The JBL and Jericho match was awesome to say the least. I found it lame when the match was made but setting a time limit was the key to this match's succes. I was on the edge of my seat. It couldn't have happened any better if they had planned it. hmm....(suspicious hairy eyeball)
Todays Advice: Be careful what you wish for. You just might get it.
SHAWN MICHAELS
Here's a little story. Gather round kids. Many moon ago, I attended a match at, what was then, the Boston Garden. My brother, sister and I had seats on the floor. It's the closest I've ever been in fact, even to this day. I loved it. Every time a wrestler would come by and roll out of the ring little kids and teens and drunk adults would all rush up to the barrier in hopes of getting just that tiny bit closer to their idols. Well, I decided, "When in Rome," so when HBK, Shawn Michaels, my hearts treasure came by after the match to slap the hands of fans I threw caution to wind, ditched the fam for minutes and rushed to the front. Did I get slapped? You ask? I most certainly did! He slapped my hand and it was awesome. Shawn Michaels won his match. He was sweaty, still reeling from the liitle birdies cause I beleive he took a chair to head, and STILL made sure he maintained that contact with the fans. I could tell it took everything he had and he was exhausted but he did it anyway. I'll always remember that.
So, I have to say. I doubt if Shawn Michaels will listen to anyone but Shawn Michaels. But, you never know. Family comes first and THIS could be a first for him. As much as I think it's all malachy...I could be 100% wrong. However, he eats, sleeps, and breathes this business. So although external sources may tell him no, no, no, internal sources may have other plans. Never mess with fate HBK...you'll be back. You've been with it WAY too long. It's in your blood. I will always love you though no matter where you are or what you do. Fo this simple reason: you cared enough about me at one time. Even if it was for only a brief moment. I never forget things like that. So, THANKS, babe!
Matt Striker and Kane. Like we didn't see that one coming???? Who is dead? Undertaker? Bearer? Who? I NEED to know...I gotta know right now (sorry Meatloaf)
I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL SUMMERSLAM.... Cena vs. Batista and the HELL in the Cell matches are the ones I'm waiting for. Can't wait! hee hee can't wait. giddy and anxious.
Ted DiBiase is turning into quite the head turner. I forsee many great things for this man. He DEFINITELY has a future of gold ahead of him. Like father like son, right?
Speaking of that...
When is Orton coming back? I miss him. Did I just say that? RAW isn't that same without Randy for some reason. Perhaps, I owe him more props than I thought. COME BACK!!!!
I just gotta say this about John Cena. I LOVE how he flies out from the back when his music plays like he was shot out of a cannon! LOVE IT. LOVE his energy. LOVE him. Enough fawning. He's great to me.
Smackdown is on tomorrow night. Hope you ALL tune in. Watch Edge. (not that I'm promoting one wrestler over others) I'm just excited here.
Next in line for a Rob Zombie movie,
Flawless
P.S. stay cool people. My blog is crazy today; a reflection of my inner tumoil due to lack of sleep. I mean no harm to anyone. Peace, love and wrestling.
I appreciate how Jeff Hardy slaps the hands of fans as he comes down the ramp. Not many of the wrestlers make that contact with the fans. He does. He's got a playful manner about him and that's O.K. in my book. However, MVP has touched several nerves and I saw a different kind of anger, a different kind of fierceness in Jeff. It was darker with perhaps a hint of the inner demons. It's dangerous yet secretly intoxicating (for me)..I love the bad boy...It's almost as if he prepares for the pain he's about to encounter. Sometimes, the look on his face says, "Holy ****, I'm about to get beat down and it's gonna HURT!!!!!" And he does. And he gets back up again. And that's why we love him! Jeff Hardy makes for great matches.
I think we're gonna need a bigger show! Mr. Kennedy ALWAYS puts a smile on my face. SmackDown agrees with him that's for sure. He and Shelton really POP on camera! The energy is almost too much sometimes.
Brian Kendrick may not care about us but can he atleast have feelings for his haircare???? What up dude?
Quiestion 1: Can you imagine playing Twister with the Great Khali???
Ya know, Maria looked lovely in her SmakDown Blue and it's good to see her. BUT...and there's always a but, right? I've often wondered and am amazed that Victoria isn't getting further ahead in the business? To me, she's that rock, that constant, strong, beautiful aggressive DIVA that, I believe, would make a difference/contribution to the Women's Title. I know, if I were learning to wrestle, I'd be attending Victoria's World of Wrestling. She doesn't leave anything to "luck." She knows what she's doing. I don't know... Again, I'm just amazed she's not recognized more.
Summerslam, summerslam, sum, sum, summerslam, summerslaaammmm. Can't wait! Cena vs. Batista, Edge vs. Taker. Wow! Get out the Barbi and the popcorn peeps, it's about to get mmm mmm good!
Domino...that's correct. He went down like a Domino against the Big Show Friday night. I don't know everything. I don't claim to know everything but I do know that Domino must have had a helluva headache after THAT match!! ouch!
So...here's the part in my blog where I may ruffle the feathers of fans and non-fans alike by accident. But the line between good and evil is never JUST black and white. So, I have to say, I agree with every word Mick Foley said about Edge. Plus, I just found out that I have French/Canadian blood in my family so there's some loyalty there now. I have always been a fan of Edge. I won't lie and say he hasn't done some pretty despicable things to get ahead in the business cause he definitely has. But, many others have too! I agree when Mick said that Edge could very well possibly be the greatest wrestler in the WWE. He is also right in saying that there are 2 Edge's. The Edge that used to be, the no holds barred, take no prisoners Edge and then there's the vulnerable, SAPPY Edge that feels he needs to drag along on the coattails of others to "get by".
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I miss the old Edge. He's IS extremely talented. He DOES have the height, the build, the mind, the looks to be the best. And just as he ALMOST gets there...he backs off. He says he wants it. But EDGE is holding EDGE back from greatness. He is, in my opinion, the whole package. If only he could use his powers for good..or for HIM!!!! Oh where oh where has my little Edge gone, oh where oh where could he be?
I wish I could corner him in a room and shake the sugar right out of him. Sometimes, I feel as though he needs a swift smack of reality. He could be the best. It's IN him. He just needs to let it out!!! Anytime soon, would be nice. Edge, if this blog ever reaches you across universal hands, please please please be the wrestler I KNOW you can be.
I am sort of happy as I always am on Wednesdays. For some reason this seems to be a lucky day of the week for me. I finally got a chance to watch RAW last night. Thank God for DVR's! I have a few comments as usual. Overall, I found it a very pleasant show. I was surprised, enthused, and irate! All in the same show! It was good.
Anyhoo, here's my take on Raw 7/28/08:
Right out of the gate, and a bit of a girly note, but John Cena looks great in RED! I loved that shirt he was wearing. 54 is slowly becoming one of my favorite numbers! In fact, why doesn't he wear red more often? Not many people can pull off red or a shirt, for that matter, so he should take full advantage and kill 2 birds with 1 stone, right?
There's nothing sexier than tight, smooth thighs and well-built arms on men! I'm a thigh girl mostly but when Batista came out in that tank???? Holy Guacamole! I was like a kitten purring baby! Both wrestlers breathe "sexy" to me. Sorry, I had to get the days daily dirt thought out. ME..freakin' OW!
The tides turned quickly however when Shane McMahon came out. I don't know about anyone else but I laugh my butt off when he does his little "money jig" out there. It's hysterical. C'mon. Laugh people cause it's funny. I gave him an Indian name...Quick Feet.
OHHH Sidenote: I can't wait to see Mirrors!
Kelly Kelly is tougher than I originally gave her credit for. Or perhaps, her competition as of late has just become softer? Either way, she shined last night. You go girl.
So, most people don't like Santino. But, I will say it. I am a fan of Luigi and his little Casa show. He's growing on me (probably like moss) more and more and dare I say..I like it??? The fact that he can entertain us, wreslte (moderately) and steal the heart of a Glamazon just makes him even more of a superstar to me. However, the pessimist in me is always on the lookout for the next "ex-partnership". But this is yummy. Keep going WWE. Me like, me like.
I'm already NOT liking this new GM of RAW. "Mat King Cole" got beat down. I don't even have words. Oy!
What up with the mop top hair Regal?
Okay...okay..I'm starting to believe you, CM. I have to admit, at first I wasn't sure if you could do this whole title holder thing. But you're slowly convincing me. On the other hand, you've got to admire how Kane can take everyone in the ring down to the mat with one swift hand to the face or throat in less than a second! Ouch! How's your head?
I'd never "boo"Jericho. In fact, I've always been a huge fan of his. He should never settle for anything less than the best. It's advice I'd give to anyone. I will tearfully miss the Highlight Reel, of course. That goes without saying. Someone get this man a title match, please!!! They were showing clips of Stephanie on the HR and I got excited for a second there. I thought she'd come down and make my night. But, alas, no such appearance was in the making. I shall retreat and wait in hopes that my hero will re-emerge her usual butterfly self oneday soon. Please sir...can I have some more..Staphanie McMahon, that is.
J.R! J.R! J.R! Can't you just hear him yelling that at the top of his lungs? Just like old times..brief but I needed that. (sigh...)
Katie Lea is whoopin' butt and takin' names! You know. I can't believe I'm about to say this. But, I almost found myself rooting for the bad girls just for the simple fact that they have a way of being much more interesting than the good girls sometimes!!! I know..I know..I'm sorry Micki. I hope I don't do it again. Shame on me...unless... no, no...Like I said...ALMOST.
Sidenote: I HOPE some punishment will be given out to Vicki and Edge's wedding planner if she's not in Mexico yet!
Hmmm...Batista looks great in red...Oh, and the match was good too. yum...raar.
On a more sincere, emotional note; I am a big John Cena fan. although he's got some haters out there, I have to say this.
I noticed something on RAW Monday night. Something that I knew was there but never really witnessed for myself. John's match against Batista...when Batista speared JBL, John riased his arm in triumph. I know..you're like..yeh, so what? Well, It was the way he did it. If you get the chance, go back and watch it. His face says it all. It struck me kind of funny that this now big muscle guy can also posess that little boy excitment and awestruck curiousity. I found myself engulfed in his soulfull reaction. It wasn't magic. It wasn't corny. It was REAL. I pray to the Lord above, he never loses that zest and fire, that sheer passion and love for this sport. YES, it IS a sport in every way, shape and form.
Like I said, if you watch it back, you may see what I saw. I hope that inside the hearts of all the wreslters in that locker beats the same desire and dedication that his does.
Hate if you want but I'll always love those qualities in a wrestler..and the man. THAT, impressed me. Wow. Thank YOU John Cena. You didn't have to do anything but be yourself. You renewed my faith.
It's Sunday. I'm late with the SmackDown review but hey...I'm only human.
The more I hear MVP's entrance music, the more I Iike it. It's growing on me. He's not. Let's not not get crazy kids! He's just annoying. But his music can stay.
Jeff Hardy is hot. There. I said it. His tats, his arms...sexy sexy sexy. There's something about him that's more impressive than his brother. Although, both are great, both are extremely talented and both have equally accomplished great things within the WWE. I just can't help but feel that Jeff has that little something extra. I can't quite put my finger on it. But I'd love to try to!
Observation1: Shelton Benjamin reminds me of Carlton Banks from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
Jimmy Wang Yang...hahaha. Still love sayin' that especially with a southern twang y'all.
Atleast Shelton is now moving up in the ranks. It was touch and go for a while but he hung in there. If he keeps going like he is, I see top honors ahead. Gold suits him just fine.
Observation 2: I love Edge's mysterious over-hanging forehead
I think it's time we find Festus a worthy opponent. What would happen if the bell was forever silenced???? Look out locker room!
The Battle Royal
Mr. Kennedy. Always great to see him, and I'm glad he's a fan favorite now.
Khali. He's a lock for Frankenstein's Monster should WWE produce a movie...
MVP. Yep..you guessed it. Still ANNOYING. But, you gotta love his swagger coming down to the ring.
Umaga. Still needs to speak. However, he was with some great company this week. Good.
Hardy. Always great to watch (see previous comments)
Big Show. The gentle giant. Could be even bigger if he could score some extra air time in matches that show his talent off.
I'd, personally, like to see the Big Show, Umaga and the Great Khali in a Triple Threat Match! Wow. Can the ring take that kind of punishment???
For a moment I actually thought Jeff was going to win the Battle Royal. Wouldn't THAT have been something?
Triple H vs. Khali? hmm...
The Divas belt looks great around the waist of Michelle McCool. Hope she keeps it for a while. I want to see the SmackDown Divas against the Raw Divas. Which brand has the tougher Divas?
Maryse: aka "The Whipper."
Observation 3: Does anyone else get sick of the 90210 commercials during the show?
Speaking of commercials. Wrestlemania is huge. It's practically the Super Bowl. So, why doesn't the WWE have the same funny/great commercials during Wrestlemania? Fans create their commercials. I'd love to see a contest airing the winning commercial? Maybe? Just another idea that floats around in my head. Hope floats people!
Okay..Brian Kendrick I swear looks more and more like John Morrison every week!. However, I AM liking his ferocity and aggressiveness now. I got to say, Good for him! He impressed me this week. He actually WOWed me and that's not easy to do.
Observation 4: Shannon Moore..no Shawn Michaels..no...it was Shannon Moore but you have to wake up pretty early in the morning to trick me WWE! Good attempt though.
The Undertaker is back!!!!! Three cheers for the Taker, the Taker, the Taker, Threee cheers for the Taker, we love him so much! Woohoo baby!!!
I knew there was a reason I loved Summer Slam so much. It's brewing something mighty tasty everyone!!!!
Well, that's it for now. Have a great RAW and week. Rock it out but don't break anything!
Edge and Vicki's wedding reception: Wow! What a gorgeous cake!!! Oh, right..focus. If I ran my wedding like that, we'd be holding it in someones basement! Should she be wearing white? Should he be wearing white? What's the protocol here? I'd call the wedding planner but, as we all know now, her hands are full.
Observation 1: I'm not really sure why Hornswoggle is still around. He's cute...I guess. But what is his purpose again, other than distracting things??????
Observation 2: The Big match with Shelton Benjamin, MVP, The Great Khali and Vladamir against The Big Show was complete "filler". I don't like "farce" matches just to pass the time. The focus was obviously E & V's wedding but still. You have all that ego, talent and opportunity in the ring and then...nothing! A waste really. If it wasn't a Sunday, I'd say it was an insult to my intelligence.
Anyhoo,
Jimmy Wang Yang. No comment, I just love saying that name!
Mr. Kennedy has finally arrived and not a moment too soon. He faced Umaga, who is still up in the air with me. Kennedy is a good little actor. That Umaga needs to channel his rage into a decent hair style. What up dude?
Speaking of hair...who has it better, Edge or John Morrison? This could go either way. But any Smackdown is a good Smackdown as long as John Morrison is in it. (personal opinion everyone..don't get hostile on me)
Matt and Jeff Hardy destroyed the wedding cake. Ahh...cake...what a gorgeous cake! Oh, right..focus again! But it's always good to see the bro's together..or not.
Is there ANY match Edge WON'T interrupt?
Hey Edge...Hell hath no fury...but you gotta love Edge sometimes...who didn't see that one coming???
Again, these are personal views.
Crackin' eggs and buttering the bundt,
Flawless
Oh...does anyone remember how funny and annoying Kurt Angle used to be. I was watching the Rock DVD set and it brought back memories. Makes you appraciate what you had when it's gone. I'd like for Kurt to come back to the WWE someday. But if not, thanks, Kurt!
Oh..and one more opinion, as if you want one more, right? I'm always chiming in here and there on other blogs asking which show is the better brand? Raw vs. Smackdown. They both are great! They both have faults. What one has the other lacks. They are sister shows. The writers are doing their jobs well, otherwise WWE Fan Nation probably never would be in effect. Like a football game, you can't have a home team without an opposing team to play. People root for one and not the other. That's the way it goes. I love both shows!
Today's advice: Appreciate both, because one day, it could all be gone. Thanks WWE. The Bell Tolls For You!
