    When Anatomy Knox

Monday, August 17, 2009, 08:37 AM EST [General]

The heart rules me today.  I'm moody, missing someone, enjoying a crush, and writing about a passion of mine. It's a bit of a welcomed torture.  SmackDown was good this week. I'm blogging today because my neighbors drive me bonkers and I'm about to slap them all with a damn silly stick! It will not be pretty. It could be mildly entertaining though.  Doubt I could turn it into a PPV event.  Anyway, back to business. I've decided to sum up SmackDown with a series of observations this week.

Observation 1: Never leave two weapons of destruction in the ring together especially if one of those weapons is Mike Knox; intelligence and quite an extensive vocabulary.

Observation 2:  John Morrison wants, wields and weaves the will to win.  All these w's and motivation had to have stemmed from somewhere.  Hmm...

Observation 3:  Where do Melina's paparazzi work? It's not WWE Magazine because I never see any of those pictures of one of my favorite DIVA's in there. (hint hint) Speaking of pictures, that'd be a great storyline if a certain Diva had pictures with another Diva's man.  Can we say "juicy?" Not that I'm fixing to stir up trouble...

Observation 4:  Ever play CLUE? The answer is Kane in the basement with a lead pipe.

    Observation 5: Y2J! Y2J! Y2J! Y2J! Let me hear it! Y2J! Y2J! Y2J! Y2J!

Observation 6:  What exactly does "probation" mean in the WWE?

Observation 7:  SmackDown will be so good this week: Both Hardys and Morrison vs. The Hart Dynasty and CM Punk.

So, that's it. Short and sweet, enough.  RAW tonight.

I've just got to return this halo, it's crooked.

    Gold Standard Issue

Thursday, August 13, 2009, 09:44 AM EST [General]

It's another drizzly morning here in Boston. The sky is gloomy and yet enticing. I love the rain. There's something seductive about it.  Actually, it's probably all of the damn vampire movies and shows I'm watching lately. It's vampire-mania.  Hey, I'm not resisting either.  I've succumbed to the thirst. You either have the characteristic or you don't. But that's a savory story for another neck.  I mean, day.

Crazy pants Ryder went attitude to attitude with Shelton Benjamin who, coincidently, had the crowd behind him.  Anyone notice?  I found myself rooting for both men.  This is one of those instances when I'm left feeling perplexed and conflicted.  Zack Ryder waited too long for the Zack Attack and was hit with Shelton's Pay Dirt! Benjamin prevailed.  It was a good match in my eyes.  You know, another observation I had Tuesday night was that Shelton Benjamin is loosening up a bit. He's not AS rigid as usual and I'm happy to see that. It gave me the warm fuzzies.

Did Paul Burchill call my Gregory Helms ridiculous and a laughing stock? I may just have to whip out my Wonder Woman outfit and ... (oops! Almost gave it away).

Just once I'd love to see a "newbie" shock the Russian out of Kozlov or the domination out of Ezekiel and get the win!  Unfortunately, that wasn't the case for poor Mr. Kevin Brooks. But I'm sure he'll have those memories burned in his mind for the rest of his life as he's walking crooked and going through doorways sideways! Enough is enough. Play or go home.

The Bella's introduced Paul Burchill (accompanied by his sister Katie Lea) and his opponent Yoshi Tatsu.  Love the respectful bow before he enters the ring. There's something incredible about that.  I have no idea what the heck he's saying but he sure gets me pumped and on his side!  Yoshi was declared the winner of the match as the always resourceful Katie Lea interfered.  The forces of justice blew through the ring as the Hurricane appeared and sought to keep the scales balanced once more.

That's right Tiffany! You take control and lay down the law!

The Tyler Reks and Tom James match was quick but showcased the strength, athleticism and potential of Reks

Okay, "The Abraham Washington Show": Not that I'm complaining because any show starring the charismatic Christian is a "must see". But there ARE other noteworthy superstars making headlines in the WWE and on ECW.  Personally, I'd love to see Abraham Washington try to interview Yoshi Tatsu! HA HAHAHAHAHA. William Regal's two second appearance doesn't count!  No disrespect to Christian in ANY way. He's a favorite of mine: Always will be.  Wonder why there wasn't a "CRY NOW" prompt to come up on the gargan-u-tron?

William Regal vs. Tommy Dreamer:  Well fought and very physical!  Regal can deliver some serious brutal shots which is probably what made him the winner.  He's gunning for the championship. He can stage a palace coup and rule the ring while sipping on tea and nibbling crumpets.  All in all, I'd say he's well placed in line for the title.  However, the current title holder is still in charge!

ECW had another great show.  I can't wait for SmackDown and Freddie Prinze Jr. is set to host RAW Monday night.  So many good things...

Now if you'll excuse me, I have some AB negative to get back to.

    No Swoggle Too Small

Wednesday, August 12, 2009, 09:07 AM EST [General]

Monday night was all sorts of crazy good!  I wonder what these rumors were Randy was hearing. Maybe his voices started them. I don't know. In any event, RAW was here, there and Canada!  WWE Champion Randy Orton opened the show addressing rumors (that I've never heard btw) regarding John Cena and their match at SummerSlam.  There are  only two people I know of who can push John Cena to snap: Edge and Randy OrtonJohn Cena was out of his mind serious Monday night and I've got to tell you something. I loved it. I don't LOVE seeing him furious and foaming at the mouth like a mad dog. I love his intensity and focus when he gets to the edge.  It's exciting and THAT's the John Cena that's going to persevere at SummerSlam.  That said, I am openly Orton and proud of it.  Orton will come at Cena with everything's he's got.  This match is the one I can't wait for.  Let's just hope there's an actual winner and no one tries to high tail it out of there.  I'll get to 'Jerishow' in a bit.

Miss Missile Dropkick, Gail Kim, earned the #1 Contender spot to face Mickie James in the future.  Holy herniated disks! The always impressive Beth Phoenix lifted not one Diva but two!  Beth always likes to keep it interesting and I certainly appreciate that.  Kelly Kelly showed some great effort and reckless abandon as she hurled herself in and out of the ring. I can't get over the progress Alicia Fox has made. She is really stepping up and owning it.  Nice match ladies!

Sgt. Slaughter played head games with the audience all night.  I have to admit, I was deeply shocked and saddened by the lack of Bret!  Thanks a lot Slaughter! Now I'm  bitter too!

I wanted so desperately to see another gorgeous standing Moonsault from Evan BourneUm, that's Swagger's cue. Yeh, he came in and ripped the propellers off of flight Bourne with a Gutwrench PowerbombEvan's got so much heart and gives it his all every match.  Swagger is a mat wrestler and Bourne is a flyer. The tragedy of it all is that if they came together, they compliment each other's abilities nicely.  That will never happen seeing that Swagger's ego and vengeful demeanor gets in the way. MVP has had several run-ins with THAT Swagger also and put the All American American "on his butt".  He did get some revenge later on when MVP faced Chris MastersMVP was caught, locked and punished.

It was nice to see Eugene after a few years.  The story here is the Calgary Kid.  I am starting to appreciate the Miz more and more. He's changing my view of him and that almost NEVER happens.  His plan was brilliant and well executed. It wasn't intricate. It was just plain sneaky, simple and conniving. It was most effective and surprising. The Miz was banned from RAW and SummerSlam. But the Calgary Kid wasn't.  Great work Miz. I find his deviousness intriguing. Welcome back.

I'd like to erase the Orton/Show match.  It never happened.  GOT IT!

DX reunite! That's the word on the...everywhere actually.  I don't know. I smell a rat.

Once you step into that ring you are fair game. You become the hunter and the hunted. That's the rule Ted DiBiase lives by. There was no swoggle too small for a trip down Dream Street. ALL is fair in love and wrestling.  GET IT!

Freddie Prinze Jr. will be the guest host of RAW next Monday night. So far for me, Seth Green still holds the top spot for best guest host. Prinze? Show me whatcha got!

I couldn't take my eyes off of Jericho. He reminded me of one of favorite actors with his finely manicured facial hair. It was hot.  John Cena accepted the crowd's chants for Jericho like a professional.  Cena surprises me from time to time. I felt the pressure he was feeling. The cards are stacked against him sometimes in the ring.  The thing is, is that if he were any different the WWE wouldn't be the same.  We NEED Cena.  We NEED Cena to remain Cena otherwise, Jericho and Orton couldn't be who they are successfully. How boring would it be week after week if we didn't have the John Cena's of the world? Think about it.

If you don't agree, that's cool too.  That's what the WWE is all about, right? (wink)

Finish this sentence: I'd rather be watching Monday night RAW than...(let me know)

    GOOD!

    Until I blog again,

    Crouching Punk Hidden Preacher

Saturday, July 25, 2009, 07:28 PM EST [General]

Hey there guys and dolls!  The action on SmackDown just keeps building and building week after week.  I tell you, I'm about to burst at the seams!  Lord of the Ring, Jeff Hardy, shook Mount Enigma off the globe when he came out to address his tribes around the world about the preacher man and the glory of living in the moment.  One half of the Unified Tag Team Champions, Chris Jericho, didn't waste any time coming out to block all access leading to Hardy's Promise Land.  It's a pretty safe bet that we're going to get a great match when it involves Jeff Hardy and Chris Jericho.  There were refreshing, fruity roll-ups, the Walls of Jericho, a superbly executed Whisper in the Wind and a devastating Codebreaker (Holy Moly btw!)  If those weren't enough to wet your whistle, we also got to witness a Twist of Fate and a killer Swanton BombJeff Hardy won this incredible match.

Michelle McCool vs. Melina at Night of Champions?  Oh, yeah, it's on!

Is there anyone who can knock the Great Khali to his knees?  I once thought it would've been Kane without hesitation.  However, Mike Knox took a crack at it and wound up plunged into Tomorrow Land.  Will Kane psychologically be ready at Night of Champions or will a now confused Khali?

Dolph Ziggler is quite the marvel lately.  Not only can he peeve an Irishman off beyond repair, but he can also snag a lovely Diva, take a head and snap it to the ground like nobody's business (or what I like to call, "The Introduction") and go after the Intercontinental Champion and his title! Phew! How does he do it?  Ziggler won the match as a result of a count out.

CM Punk continues his journey from city to city preaching his Canterbury Tales of a Straight Edge lifestyle.  I think I'll be traveling in the opposite direction. Oh, but I guess I'll keep my cell phone on just in case! You know how it is.

Eve and Natalya: This is becoming quite the little rivalry.  I was glad Eve was fine after what Spinderella put her through, except I fear her knees may bend backwards now. Natalya is awesome!  She's strong, smart and a natural in the ring.  If I was a WWE Diva, I'd SO want to wrestle Natalya...or run away from her; whichever comes first.

The crowd may have approved wholeheartedly of R-Truth's delicious rap but Charlie Haas despised it. He shoved Truth viciously letting him know right away the kind of wrestler he's in the ring with.  The thing that's so great about R-Truth is that he can dish some serious impact and cut throat shots but he can also take them!  That mentality makes him tough, a survivor, and made him the winner of this match.

World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk squared off against Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio.  Punk's new found personality is bringing with it crisp, deliberate, ice cold kicks and maneuvers that can shatter bones.  They make my bones rattle just watching them.  This man's bark is much nicer than his bite. It's not better, but I'd much rather get a lecture than be put to sleep the hard way!  And it wouldn't be a proper interference without Dolph Ziggler around.  His presence was innocent at first but then...violence.  I see your Rey and raise you a Ziggler! Maria? Why do I like this guy too???

Climbing Mount Enigma and setting up my tent to watch the fireworks.  See you there?

    A Show Slapping Number

Wednesday, July 22, 2009, 10:18 AM EST [General]

Good day good folks of this mighty fine Universe! I shall not blab any further and steamroll right into the fray.

The opening segment ran a little too long for my personal taste. Honestly, anything over ten minutes and I start to drift like the once QE2 in a fog.  I love to get hit with a zinger straight away and then enter the action with witty puns and mischievous mayhem. Again, that's just me.  Triple H and John Cena DID make me laugh though, as well as Santino so it was okay.  ZZ Top did a good job.

U.S. Champion Kofi Kingston was involved in a 6 Man Tag Team contest with Primo, MVP (love that red), Swagger, Big Show and Carlito.  One slap in the chest from Show in the morning is better than an alarm clock!  Wake up (sleepily) WACK!  I'm up!  This was like a showdown at the OK Corral for me.  All they needed were toy guns that shot little flags while sporting cowboy hats.  Speaking of which, Randy reminded me of John Wayne Monday night especially when he got on the mic.  But I'm pro Orton and proud of it.  Big Show left no stone unturned, or alive for that matter!  Holy Wild West. Giddy up, partner.

Was Kendrick's attire made by the same people who created Jurassic Park memorabilia?  What up with the slashes?  There's only one SLASH.  Hey?  Now that's an idea!

Punk? Do you have anymore eye drops for Mickie?  Loved the "Old School" set btw.

I believe, for once, that Jericho was being sincere in his attempt to join Fozzy and ZZ Top to "jam".  What did he get for his efforts? A big Mark Henry that's what!  Isn't Fozzy a bear?  "Wocka wocka wocka!"  Apparently, Henry doesn't believe in rugs as he used Jericho to walk on instead.  Damn!  But tell me, in all honesty, you didn't laugh when Jericho flexed his guns?  This guy is great. lol   Watching Mark spin Jericho around reminded me of the time I went on the Matterhorn at DisneyLand.  Although, I kept my cookies down, I can only imagine what Chris was feeling.  Of course, this match ended in disqualification!  Possible regurgitation is ALWAYS grounds for disqualification, chair or no chair.

How adorable was Hornswoggle in a tux?  Chavo Guerrero wasn't exactly hot stuff in the ring despite what his boxers depicted.  You know, I saw something different with Chavo this week. Or maybe, I saw something different in myself while watching Chavo.  I respect him. I always have but I had forgotten just how much.  No matter what silly antics he pulls, I see his desire and love for the WWE.

Shaquille O'Neal is next week's Guest Host.  Personally, I'd rather have the Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman!  Talk about drawing a crowd.  I'm not a basketball fan.  But I love animals!!!! Raar.

Alicia Fox squeaked out a win for her team in the ZZ Top Legs Match.  You've GOT to appreciate the Tyra Banks runway stomp Fox does heading to the ring.  But do you know who I think finally DID arrive in style? Kelly Kelly!  There she is!  She was ripping the place up and flipping a super model-esque attitude while doing it.  I knew she had it in her. NOW, she is ready to face Maryse.  Too bad Mickie beat her to it. But don't go backwards girl...keep going!

The Main Event actually became more about Ted and Cody vs. Triple H and John Cena and less about Randy Orton.  Although triple teaming is what Legacy does best, if you catch even the corner of the viper's eye, he'll strike back at you viciously.  Night of Champions should be interesting. However, this match is becoming more and more predictable and I can foresee where this is going. G.I. Joe and He-Man have joined forces and have taken over the Legacy's camp.  Needless to say, I am not amused.  On the other hand, seeing the tides change may be crucial for what's to come. (muhahahahaha)

This week's Focus Favorite: Kelly Kelly
