When In Doubt, Punt It Out!

Wednesday, December 31, 2008, 12:04 PM EST [General]

I'm a little annoyed with Monday night. Although always entertaining, it left a bad taste in my mouth: a taste not even the best, the most potent, the most effective mouthwash could eliminate. And speaking of eliminating..no, I'll wait.  (Grrr, grumble, grumble).  The Grumble Rumble. That's what it'll be for me anyway.  But, I digress.

Let's start with Rey Mysterio. He was already in the ring. He was waiting for us, not the other way around which was cool, since these days, I wait for no one: a little ****y? Perhaps, but truthful. I've found a new attitude and I fit into it quite nicely. I see no point in looking back.  I'm shedding the skin and the freedom feels great. Rey stated that he understood Shawn's new found situation and how it's taking a toll on everything in his life. However, apparently, this isn't sitting well with Rey and he wanted Shawn to do the honorable thing and have a one-on-one with him for the spot he was cheated out of originally.  HBK responded in agreement until the big, bad wolf, JBL chimed in and took the liberty of changing Shawn's decision.  Shawn retreated to the back like a dog with its tail between its legs.  While Rey was pleading with Shawn to snap out of this self-punishing mode he's taken to lately, Mike Knox ambushed Rey from behind. This has become a bit predictable now and no one really knows why this is happening yet..do they?  Am I lost or something?  What the hell does this man have against Rey Mysterio? I'm over it and if I see Rey tossed around like a day old salad one more time, I may have to sound the guards in the Universe to spread the word of my unhappiness.  As I watched this animalistic attack it reminded me of a show I saw on the Discovery Channel when sharks attack seals.  Yeh, it was EXACTLY like that.  The guardian of the WWE, John Cena, came to Reys defense and not a moment too soon.  People may hate Cena but thank the Lord "someobody" is there to restore order.  Chaos is great to have every once in a while in the WWE as long as its an organized chaos.  Otherwise, it's nothing more than a cheap imitation of anarchy.  I can't have that either. Plus, when Cena's adrenaline is pumping he becomes more aware of his surroundings and his senses heighten off the charts.  This is when he's at his best. I get a charge out of it too.

    Moving on...

Shout out to Lilian Garcia for that dress! It was fabulous!

Randy is all for the Legacy and put phase I into effect.  They each had individual matches and the outcome was simple: you win, you're in, you lose, you're out.  There was nothing complicated about that.  He stated that he thinks the Legacy could be bigger than the Horsemen, DX and Evolution.  Well, right now, they're no bigger than a damn snow cone! I am fully invested in the Legacy. I believe in its possibilities, and its success.  (God, I wish I was there to control this thing). However, some fine tweaking is needed.  Cody was up first. He had a match against a pumped up CM PunkWilliam Regal honored us with his presence at ringside.  Cody won but only by count out.  He's in, but barely.  He should've won that match by pinfall. CM went after Cody and Regal went after CM giving him a little preview of what to expect next week.  I feel CM has it in the bag, but then again, "things" have a way of comin' around, ya know?

The 6 Diva Battle Royal was pretty good. I don't care for the fact that Candace was eliminated so easily and so early on but, I get it..politics.  The good news is, Melina won!  She will now go on to face the Glamazon for the Women's Championship.  A slap fest broke out outside the ring and was soon interrupted by crazed fan, Rosa, (she hasn't earned Bold status yet) trying to defend her idol, Beth.  Can somebody say, straight jacket?  lol.. Somebody is severely unhinged and has taken it to the next level.  The Glamazon, better watch out because the second she turns on Rosa? Let's just say, have a plane ticket to Europe ready, Beth.   Then again, look how Micki turned out.  Could go either way.

Todd interviewd Chris JerichoJericho was even more upset than usual after being labeled Jerk of the Year by WWE Magazine.  So, here's where I defend Jericho by saying this: Chris is so far from himself, it's not even funny.  I watch him wrestle, I listen to him speak but something is missing.  What once was thriving is now lost and its a sad thing.  He's almost become robotic and there's no spirit anymore.  Technically sound but no heart.  Where did his soul go?  Jericho is not a jerk. He's been broken.  What will it take to fix it?  Can we fix it?  2009 brings upon me a new challenge.  Chris Jericho saved us. It's time for us to save him.  Who's with me?

Sim Snuka vs. "Super Haas" Charlie Snuka: Sim was not impressed by the impersonation and eagerly attacked him for it. Chalie Haas is a good wreslter.  He is.  He's just trying to find his niche.  My advice? Stop the gimmicks and just be yourself. You don't need fancy armour to make it.  Just stay the course and push through. Sim won. He's in.  He's easily distracted, has an ego and gets frustrated when things don't go his way.  He's perfect for the Legacy!  BUT, he needs to be reminded that the goals of the Legacy are the main priority.  What's important?  The Mission is what's important.  The mission of the Legacy.  If he can be checked every once in a while, he'll plow down any competition that comes his way. Thank you to whomever, that he's not Deuce anymore.  Congrats Sim! You've officially graduated.

Stephanie McMahon's match was next: Cena, Mysterio, Cryme Tyme, Kingston vs. Kane, Knox, Miz and Morrison, Ziggler. This match was just action-packed from beginning to end and I loved the constant banter between the Miz and Cena.  What the heck was that about?  Anyway, it was great.  I love watching Cena in tag team action for some reason.  I'm a fan of Morrison and the Miz and I hated to see them lose but this match made me happy.

Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the JBL/HBK situation because I've decided it's detrimental to my health.  In case anyone is interested, the ulcer is healing nicely! It makes me want to spit bullets. In fact I did.  And I know where they landed too, JTG's pants. lol...

Quote of the week: "Is it just me or does it look like William Regal always smells something bad?" - Jerry "The King" Lawler

Kelly Kelly's mystery man was Randy Orton.  Are you kidding me?  Send in the cleaner.  This one is going to get sticky.  I'm pissed. I need to think about this one some more.

Manu vs. Matt HardyMatt was too much Hardy for Manu.  He always brings the fight and Manu underestimated him.  Manu needs to do more research on his opponents. So, where does this leave our silent bulldozer? He lost. Is he out?  I wouldn't be so quick to be rid of Manu. With the pace that Randy is keeping, there could be games afoot and he'll need all the back up he can get. Although, compliance is necessary and training must be a constant.

Fatal 4 Way: Chris Jericho lost. Randy Orton lost.  Shawn Michaels sold out and was humilited...again.  Is there really a need to continue?

This week's Focus Favorite: Kane, for the simple fact that he's always dissed, denied and disregarded.  With any luck the monster will rise once more to where he should be.

Okay. I'm done.  Next week will be better. I can taste it. Something sweet is on the menu.

Trying to figure out how to push John Morrison's glasses as new WWE merch, and imagining what the view looking down from the top turnbuckle looks like,

One Ring to Rule Them All

Tuesday, December 23, 2008, 12:01 PM EST [General]

Happy freakin' merry holidays ladies and gents of this mighty fine Universe!  Why am I so "extremely" happy?  Well, I'll tell you in a lot of paragraphs. Are you game?

    RAW 12/22/08

Santino and Beth opened the show.  Before Santino had a chance to reveal the secret about Santa Claus, John "Chena" stepped in.  lol...Chena...  Anyhoo, Santino issued a challenge and the champ, ALWAYS game, accepted in an instant.  Santino & Beth vs. John Cena and the Diva of his choice.

Kane and Kelly...Kelly (isn't that redundant or something?) headed to the ring.  After last week, I have a little grudge against Kelly Kelly for what she did to the Miz.  Not cool, but whatever.  I'll give her a chance. Let's see if she came through for me.  Stephanie McMahon asked (not sure if that's the right word) Kane to apologize for his actions last week on RAW toward Kelly Kelly.  However, Kane felt he should also get an apology from KK. (I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with the big guy).  Did she?  No..okay so it's still not looking good for our resident diva, but whatever.  I'll give her a second chance.  Kane begrudgingly apologized and soon after, Shawn Michaels headed to ring for the first match in the Race to the Rumble.  Although a valient effort was made from our scary red terminator, HBK ultimately won the match dishing out a heaping, healthy plate of sweet chin music.  Oh..yeh, JBL looked on with approval from the back.  I get stomach cramps thinking of the JBL/HBK thing.  I need an Alka-Seltzer...be back in 5.....

Kofi Kingston vs. Manu:  This match confused me a bit; not the actual following of the match, rather, the whole thing in general.  I just didn't get it. Then again, there are a lot of things in this crazy mixed up world that I just DON'T GET.  I'll get over it. However, Randy might have a bit of a time getting over a member of the Legacy failing on a mission that wasn't exactly "impossible" if you know what I mean. Kingston won and rightfully so after a showing that fell flat..right on top of Manu.  BUT, since this is Christmas, I'm holding out hope for the powerhouse to come through when it counts, and that opportunity may just be sooner than later.

Cena was briefly shown in a discussion with Kelly Kelly. One can only presume that KK was the Diva of his choice.  We'll see...hmm.

Sim Snuka was holding Randy's attention in the back by wanting in with the Legacy.  This would be a wise move.  Not only will he be an asset, he'll be another reason to keep moving forward, AND he ASKED to be let in. How's that for determination and motivation. The words out. The Legacy is marketing itself!  So, here's the thing about the Legacy from where I sit.  One more member (provided Randy extends the offer to Sim) and they'll be four strong with one mind to rule them all. Who will that fourth member, should that be the direction they're headed in, be?  DiBiase? Someone else entirely?  Only time will tell.  However, North, South, East, and West, will be covered and all sides will be protected.  The Four Horseman of the Apocolypse.  God, my mind is evil...ah ah ahhhhh...but, all is still merry and bright:>

Triple H made an appearance wanting to talk to Shawn Michaels regarding Shawn aligning himself with JBLShawn insisted he could do it on his own and he needed to fix his own messes and he didn't want to rely on HHH. HHH reminded HBK about the last time his pride got in the way and still, HBK denied his helped and politely declined HHH's offer.  Agh...cramping again...

Jillian and Layla vs Micki and Melina:  This was a good match. I enjoyed it. Melina continues to impress me and Micki worked it out to aid in the win.  Layla actually impressed me a bit. I didn't think she had it in her anymore.  That's the Layla that the Women's Division needs.  Welcome back?????

Rey Mysterio vs JBL: After a time of tossing Rey around like a rag doll and elongating him to resmemble a shorter- like Stretch Armstrong figurine, Rey finally got his momentum up and running.  However, as JBL was perfectly set to receive the 619, HBK (agh) came running down and pulled his employer from a less-than-desirable fate.  JBL won.  I'm sick.

Randy vs Batista:  Winner: Randy.  Batista forfeited (recovering from last weeks punt to the head).  After the news was announced, Randy grabbed the mic.  Yes, my scooby ears went up and I listened with full attention, not unlike my old school days.  Go on teacher.  He stated how Christmas came early for him being personally satisfied with kicking Batista in the skull last week on RAW.  He told us how he had dreamed of doing just that every night for four straight years (there's that number again..hmm).  World Heavyweight Champion...John Cena or Randy Orton?  They both want it. They both need it.  They both will do ANYTHING to get it.  The Fatal 4 Way should be great.  It'll be one ring to rule them all.  Oh, what a night. So, who will the stars favor?

Backstage, Dolph Ziggler introduced himself (there's a shocker) to Kelly Kelly until the Miz and Morrison paid a surprise visit to the Diva.  They vented a little and revealed a rumor of a trashed hotel room that could've been KK's.  I'd love to stick up for Kelly Kelly but she keeps digging herself further and further into a hole.  AND she STILL didn't apologize to the MIZ!!!  Enough chances.

Chris Jericho vs CM Punk:  This match was awesome and might I add, the Canada audience was awesome all night!  These wrestlers were equally matched which makes winning that much more exciting.  My heart was torn on this one. But, I loved every second of it.  Jericho won with his outstanding Code Breaker finishing maneuver (yes, it deserves to be in bold).  I love that!  He heads to the Fatal 4 Way now.

KK fled the building heading to the hotel, one can only presume.

However, we got something SOOOOOO much better!  Trish Stratus was back in action on RAW.  God, I miss her. I miss those days.  It was great to see her go head-to-head with the Glamazon and she's still got it!  I knew she would.  That's my girl!!!!!  Thanks for the Christmas present, Trish!

Well, that's all. That's enough, and that's a wrap.  Have a great holiday and I'll chat again next week.

Jeff Hardy is WWE Champion! (extreme smile right now)

This week's Focus Favorite: Stephanie McMahon for giving me the gift of suspicion as to what's going to happen next week and for pure, great television!

Keep it clean, keep it real and most importantly, if you don't like it smile and return it the next day!

    Behind Kennedy Lines

Wednesday, December 17, 2008, 09:54 AM EST [General]

Happy Wednesday everyone?  I've shopped til I dropped and am up to my neck in baked goods! However, I ALWAYS have time for RAW! Two blogs for the price of one this week!  And the price?  Sheer entertainment. That's all.  If you're not 100% completely satisfied, there's nothing I can do really, just didn't know where to go from there.

First and foremost, I have to send Jeff Hardy a huge congratulations on becoming the new WWE Champion!  I've always been a supporter and always will be.  No matter what has happened to you in the past, you're future looks bright and promising and don't let anyone get into your head with doubt.  Keep striving for what you want and it'll be yours.

Now, in other news, Kelly Kelly got the scare of a lifetime when she and Kane collided Monday night.  Kane came to the aid of KK and well, KK didn't respond to the monster's gesture the way he wanted her to. He stalked her to the back and demanded a little chat session.

Rey Mysterio vs. the now Sim Snuka with Cody and Manu sitting ringside. Could this mean a possible trip to the other side of the tracks for recruitment into the Legacy?  I certainly hope so.   A name change did him a world of good. He domintaed much of the match.  Rey accidently collided with Cody and things got out of hand.  Rey looked as though he was in the clear until the big mook Mike Knox targeted him...again! Is he a crazed fan, a big bully in shorts, or a wack-shack patient? I guess time will reveal all.

Kane asked KK if she had feelings for him...what's another word for creepy?  Anyone?

While briefly interviewed, Randy Orton called Batista a coward, bating the animal knowing he'd follow him out to the ring. Once out, Cody and Manu assaulted him from the sides. You know, that's exactly what raptors do!!!!! hmmm...Randy the Raptor.  No wonder I love this guy!  Clever.  John Cena rushed down to Batista's defense.  The stare that Randy gives, void of any distraction. He sees straight through you.  It sends a chill down your spine.  Love it! You can't write that stuff!

Cena and Batista formed a one night partnership for the handicap match later on in the night.

Meanwhile Hacksaw Jim Duggan was in the ring waiting for his opponent, Chris Jericho. Jericho came down dressed in a suit refusing to wrestle.  He snapped at the veteran claiming it was an insult and a slap in the face to face someone like him.  You know, his comments, while harsh and tactless, were justified. I didn't get this match either.  However, let me just say this, when Jericho approached Stephanie, all I could do was remember when Jericho first came to the WWE and he and Stephanie went  back and forth with the quips and comments that made me laugh for days. These two have a long history together and I'd love to see them "couple up" for just one night.  God, that'd be funny as hell! That's right, people. Let your minds wander.

Kane badgered KK into revealing who the "someone else" is.

Next, William Regal came out and sat on his...throne while CM Punk & Kofi Kingston battled the Miz & Morrison.  Can I just say, I love how they're still carrying their slammys around.  John Morrison looks GREAT in Red!!!!This was a great match.  You couldn't get more athleticism in one match if you tried.

Side note:  CM Punk's smile is charming me...

So here's where the match went south.  The Miz and Morrison won.  Kane came out hellbent and attacked the Miz with a tombstone piledriver.  Now, the Miz hasn't exactly been a force for me but later we found out that KK lied about the Miz.  So uncool KK! I'd be pissed.  I know you're a diva but MAN UP for God's sake!

I don't even know what to say about Shawn Michaels and JBL.  Should I say anything? It's all just so...awkward.

Dolph Ziggler won his match.  Santa Claas?????? Whatever.

2 on 3 handicap match between Orton/Rhodes/Manu vs. Batista/Cena: I found this match exciting.  Not only do you have star power in the ring, you've got up and coming talent under the thrall of the Raptor himself, Randy Orton. I have to say, I'm excited and relieved John Cena was thrown into this mix. It's different, it's fresh, and it just might give him that edge he's craving.  Yes, he's craving.  I loved all aspects about this match.  Watching what's going on in the ring while keeping an eye on Orton and Cena bringing the best and worst out of each other on the outside is just great!  They're on the ropes, under the ropes, through the ropes, trying to communicate and cheer on their team!  That's believability.  That's what I love so much. The audience participation makes it that much better!!!!  Great match.

And..I love when the show ends with Randy.  I can't help it people. He's the superstar of the year in my book. I'm completely sold on this wrestler right now. Will anyone change that???? hmmm.. Hardy's looking pretty good to me.

This week's Focus Favorite: Maryse (and deservedly so!)

Buying Bret Hart's book and anticipating Kennedy's return to action! Anything that involves Kennedy's humor and charisma, I'm there! Get it, watch it, love it!

Buying out Amazon.com while daydreaming of better days,

    Flawless

P.S.  Did I mention I'm happy for Jeff Hardy???? Oh yeh!

    Daydream Believer

Wednesday, December 17, 2008, 08:44 AM EST [General]

This is Christmas.  It's the season of perpetual hope.  That said, 2008 is winding down and we're on the horizon of 2009.  I've been finding myself daydreaming a lot lately.  On the cusp of a new year, I've been dreaming of the ones who I believe; who MAKE me believe IN them and FOR them; the ones who give me hope. Believability is everything, whether you're on camera or not.  So, who makes me a believer? Who says what they mean and mean what they say? Who draws me in? Who changes my world just that little bit more than others every week?

Maryse: She eats, sleeps and breathes her character and because of that she has catapulted to a position of greatness. She could easily take the title from Michelle McCool. Now, I'm also a McCool fan.  But, should this match ever occur...my money is on Maryse. She makes me believe the whole time she's out there.

Matt Hardy:  Matt Hardy makes me a believer.  I see a fire in him that I've yet to see from anyone else.  There's nothing more important to him than family and I believe that. I also believe he's holding onto that ECW Title for a while.  He's not going anywhere anytime soon so get used to it.  I believe IN him.

John Cena:  This past Monday night with Batista and Randy Orton showed me that he means business. He's back and I can't wait to see him grab a hold of..everything!  He makes me believe ALL the time, in the ring and out of the ring. .We CAN look up to him. Should we? That's your call. But I'm on that train!

Jeff Hardy:  I can't say enough about Jeff. I believe EVERYTHING about him; all his obstacles, all his faults, all his talents, and most importantly, all the times he just "kept getting up!" He never wavered and made believers out of critics.   I believe him, in him, and for him. In fact, I'm all about him.  I don't get how there can still be non-believers. I just don't. He's not done.  No, he's not done by any means and I couldn't be more proud.

Randy Orton:  Randy is probably the one I believe the most.  His commitment to his character is applaudable, in my opinion.  His physique is beautiful. He's athletic, and he's piercing.  When he looks at you, he IS trying to figure things out.  I'm all about Randy.  He definitely makes a believer out me. I'm just so surprised more people don't see how good he really is!

John Morrison: John Morrison is who he is and there's no denying that. He's flamboyant, athletic and above all, a graceful wrestler which, to me, a refreshing change of pace.  I believe he IS the Shaman of Sexy. I believe more gold is in his future too.

Triple H:  If you looked up the word "great" in the wrestling dictionary (is there one?), you'd probably find Triple H in there. He doesn't care what you are, who you are, or who you aspire to be. He'll just stampede through you, over you and around you until HE feels your dues have been paid.  I've ALWAYS been a believer in HHH.  Not once have I doubted him and I don't suspect I ever will.

Chris Jericho:  Since entering the WWE, Jericho has made me laugh, pissed off, sad and undoubtedly proud.  There are moments of brilliance with him in the ring. Although I do not like the heel in him, I believe he means everything that comes out of his mouth.  He IS that good, people.  I definitely believe this.

Rey Mysterio: Rey makes a believer out of me too.  He fights for EVERYTHING. Almost all of the time, the cards are stacked against him and it is my belief that our faith gets him by.  I believe in all he does out there.  Don't you?

Matches I'd like to see in 2009: Shelton Benjamin vs. Kofi Kingston, Randy Orton vs. John Cena, Maryse vs. Michelle McCool, The Miz and Morrsion vs. Rhodes and Manu.

So, who makes you believe? Who changes your world every week?
