Teddy Long made headlines. Batista had an announcement. Trish Stratus hosted RAW. It was like licking off the sticky leftover cotton candy from your fingers that you buy at a fair; mmm mmm good! Tsk tsk Teddy Long. Oh my friend, what a fine and scintillating scandal we've got ourselves into. Mr. McMahon should be pleased with your performance. However, there are quite a few people who have now targeted you for a good bruisin' playa. What are we to do?
Next, Batista, looking good and healthy, came back to make an announcement. Although that announcement was that he would now be heading to SmackDown and that he wasn't, in fact, retiring, it still didn't stop Randy Orton from cutting The Animal off in mid speech. A little trickery and a No Holds Barred match with Orton left Randy with yet another pitfall.
Diva of the Decade and 7 time Women's Champion, Trish Stratus, hosted RAW this week. Now brunette and kickin' it Toronto style, she continues to do it her way looking more fabulous than ever! She, too, made an announcement: Randy Orton vs. John Cena in a Hell in a Cell match at the next PPV!
Can life get any better than that? Why yes, it can my friends. Walk with me, talk with me.
Kofi Kingston & Primo teamed up to take on Jack Swagger & The Miz. The Miz couldn't win the United States Title from Kofi at Breaking Point so he stole it from him Monday night. More bad news, depending on which way you look at it, Swagger got the pin on a distracted Kofi and won the match.
The real news worthy item I found was Alicia Fox! Mickie James joined Jerry and Michael at the announcers table to watch what was called a Triple Threat match but really was a one-on-one match between Gail Kim and Alicia Fox for the #1 Contenders spot for the Divas Championship. Alicia Fox has really come into her own. She is remorseless, vicious and best of all, tough! Don't get me wrong. Both ladies are creative and charismatic. But "legs" walked away quite confidently with the win. In my opinion, she deserved it. Wow!
A direct and deliberate, Ted DiBiase locked up with a not so happy Shawn Michaels. While Ted was all over a bad blurry eyed Shawn, Triple H was keeping one good eye on Cody from the outside. The match was fluid and going well until one thing led to another. And then, Cody=chaos=DX=DQ! Awesome! Ah, those crazy kids. Play nice!
Here's what I'd like to see. I'd like to see Evan Bourne in a ladder match maybe with Primo. And, I'd also like to see Carlito get a trim and get into a serious match vs. Kofi Kingston for the U.S. Title. I guess only time will tell. The truth is, you have such great talent such as Evan, Carlito, Chavo, Primo, The Miz and Kofi and only one U.S. Title. Hell, I'd even like to see Jack Swagger thrown into the mix. And, since Hornswoggle wants to be a part of the action, why not him as well? Something to think about. Back to the action Monday night, it was "Bourne-swoggle" who won the match but not without great effort from Chavo and Carlito. And maybe, just maybe, Chavo can leave Hornswoggle behind after he admitted defeat and gave up.
Does anyone else think it was weird that the man with several plans, Randy Orton, was unusually calm and gave up too easily at Breaking Point? I would LOVE to see a more brutal and savage side to Cena but Orton is so taciturn that Cena will actually have to transform into Randy's worst nightmare. There are so many facets to Randy. How many levels of "low" does Orton have? And how many will Cena be willing to go to in order to finally get to the primal side of Randy? This is a tumultuous relationship that maybe only a steel cage can settle. Eroding and eradication: Nice!
Trish back in action, if for only one night, was a wondrous thing to see. It brought back so many memories and made me miss her more. She partnered with MVP, no surprise there, but a great choice. Love his new "I'm sleeveless and I'm bringin' on the big guns" attitude. They faced Chris Jericho and a heated Beth Phoenix. What a moment for Beth though...and Big Show...and Mark Henry...and anyone else really who wanted to get in on the action. Trish made it a 6 person tag match instead and took home the win!
Batista's first match back and last match on RAW was against Randy Orton. I don't think Orton was really concentrating too much on Batista as Cena was still stuck in his craw. It showed too. Randy quickly wanted out. Cena wouldn't have it and Batista bombed him. The Animal will be a great addition to the SmackDown family and I wish him well. Welcome back big guy!
