Monday night was all sorts of crazy good! I wonder what these rumors were Randy was hearing. Maybe his voices started them. I don't know. In any event, RAW was here, there and Canada! WWE Champion Randy Orton opened the show addressing rumors (that I've never heard btw) regarding John Cena and their match at SummerSlam. There are only two people I know of who can push John Cena to snap: Edge and Randy Orton. John Cena was out of his mind serious Monday night and I've got to tell you something. I loved it. I don't LOVE seeing him furious and foaming at the mouth like a mad dog. I love his intensity and focus when he gets to the edge. It's exciting and THAT's the John Cena that's going to persevere at SummerSlam. That said, I am openly Orton and proud of it. Orton will come at Cena with everything's he's got. This match is the one I can't wait for. Let's just hope there's an actual winner and no one tries to high tail it out of there. I'll get to 'Jerishow' in a bit.
Miss Missile Dropkick, Gail Kim, earned the #1 Contender spot to face Mickie James in the future. Holy herniated disks! The always impressive Beth Phoenix lifted not one Diva but two! Beth always likes to keep it interesting and I certainly appreciate that. Kelly Kelly showed some great effort and reckless abandon as she hurled herself in and out of the ring. I can't get over the progress Alicia Fox has made. She is really stepping up and owning it. Nice match ladies!
Sgt. Slaughter played head games with the audience all night. I have to admit, I was deeply shocked and saddened by the lack of Bret! Thanks a lot Slaughter! Now I'm bitter too!
I wanted so desperately to see another gorgeous standing Moonsault from Evan Bourne. Um, that's Swagger's cue. Yeh, he came in and ripped the propellers off of flight Bourne with a Gutwrench Powerbomb. Evan's got so much heart and gives it his all every match. Swagger is a mat wrestler and Bourne is a flyer. The tragedy of it all is that if they came together, they compliment each other's abilities nicely. That will never happen seeing that Swagger's ego and vengeful demeanor gets in the way. MVP has had several run-ins with THAT Swagger also and put the All American American "on his butt". He did get some revenge later on when MVP faced Chris Masters. MVP was caught, locked and punished.
It was nice to see Eugene after a few years. The story here is the Calgary Kid. I am starting to appreciate the Miz more and more. He's changing my view of him and that almost NEVER happens. His plan was brilliant and well executed. It wasn't intricate. It was just plain sneaky, simple and conniving. It was most effective and surprising. The Miz was banned from RAW and SummerSlam. But the Calgary Kid wasn't. Great work Miz. I find his deviousness intriguing. Welcome back.
I'd like to erase the Orton/Show match. It never happened. GOT IT!
DX reunite! That's the word on the...everywhere actually. I don't know. I smell a rat.
Once you step into that ring you are fair game. You become the hunter and the hunted. That's the rule Ted DiBiase lives by. There was no swoggle too small for a trip down Dream Street. ALL is fair in love and wrestling. GET IT!
Freddie Prinze Jr. will be the guest host of RAW next Monday night. So far for me, Seth Green still holds the top spot for best guest host. Prinze? Show me whatcha got!
I couldn't take my eyes off of Jericho. He reminded me of one of favorite actors with his finely manicured facial hair. It was hot. John Cena accepted the crowd's chants for Jericho like a professional. Cena surprises me from time to time. I felt the pressure he was feeling. The cards are stacked against him sometimes in the ring. The thing is, is that if he were any different the WWE wouldn't be the same. We NEED Cena. We NEED Cena to remain Cena otherwise, Jericho and Orton couldn't be who they are successfully. How boring would it be week after week if we didn't have the John Cena's of the world? Think about it.
If you don't agree, that's cool too. That's what the WWE is all about, right? (wink)
Finish this sentence: I'd rather be watching Monday night RAW than...(let me know)
GOOD!
Until I blog again,
Flawless
