The fans like like Orton like him because they appreciate wrestling talent and can look beyond a the character they play on TV.
I mean, come on, do you really believe JBL "bought" HBK, or that Orton "shattered" Shane McMahons ankle (actually, that would have been pretty funny)? These are storylines.
Oh, and by the way, stay away from so called wrestling "news sites". Most of the stuff you read there is garbage or over analyzed and exaggerated. Example: JBL left on bad terms with WWE. Or Paul London was let go because he looked at Vince the wrong way.
Also, many fan vs superstar incidents have to be taken with a grain of salt. We all saw the video where Jericho swung at a fan girl. I'm not saying it was right, but the girl spit at hm as he was trying to get in his car. What would you do?
I remember reading something from Lita when she was playing a heel. She was like "you wouldn;t believe what some fans say. They not only insult you, but they attack you family and everything else". In my opinion, I think a lot of Superstars (especially heels) maintain a lot of restraint. ANd if someone crosses the line by saying something about you parents or you children, what would you do?
Anyway, I could care less if you like Orton or not. I like him because I think he would make a great tweener and his skills are underplayed, but he at the moment is very boring and if he is suppossed to be a heel, he isn;t that good because I'd rather see him win than any of the current faces. He's less annoying than Cena and Batista.
