Paul Heyman's mother, Sulamita Heyman, passed away yesterday morning at the age of 81 reports The Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online. She was a survivor of the Nazi Holocaust and was well known by those close to Heyman both in and out of wrestling. Sulamita had reportedly been in poor health for the past few months. Word is coming in about a major backstage altercation that took place while the WWE crew was overseas in Iraq for Tribute to the Troops. Former ECW personality and WWE.com writer Joey Styles punched out former WWE Champion John Bradshaw Layfield, busting him open under the eye.
JBL is one of the senior members of the WWE lockerroom and has a reputation for being somewhat of a bully. According to several sources, JBL picked out Joey Styles to be the target of his hazing during the Iraq tour. JBL was messing with Styles all week, including calling him condecending names in front of other WWE employees and spilling a drink on him intentionally.
After a few days of abuse, Joey Styles had enough abuse and confronted JBL, who had been drinking at the time. The altercation turned physical

Sonya Szatkowski, the wife of Rob Van Dam is currently doing well in her fight against cancer. She is still doing chemotherapy but as of now won't be needing extra radiation treatment.
...Super Crazy quit WWE at last night's Smackdown/ECW taping in Orlando. Crazy's decision was said to have come out of no where. He reportedly told WWE officials that he was unhappy with how he was being used and that he was promised pushes so many times that never materialized.
John Laurinaitis is said to have not taken it well reportedly telling Crazy that many wrestlers in Mexico want his spot. Crazy had told friends that even in his position, he was happy with the money, but was unhappy with the job. While he could collect on a few months based on the WWE's non-compete clause without having to work, he was said to be willing to waive that period as he wants to wrestle and is willing to waive the non-compete by signing that he won't go to TNA as he said that isn't his goal either.
PWInsider reports that James "The Sandman" Fullington pleaded guilty in a Yonkers, NY court on Thursday to a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest stemming from an incident at Captain Lou Albano's birthday party in July. Fullington was fined $1,000, was ordered to pay another $200 in court costs and was given one-year conditional discharge. Criminal mischief and assault charges were dropped in return for the guilty plea.

...Former ECW Superstar Balls Mahoney tells Newsday.com's Alfonso Castillo that he left WWE on good terms and was told by the company that he could be used on Big Show's or could be brought back in the future. Mahoney says he hurt his shoulder in the gym and stopped lifting weights and basically fell out of shape for WWE's standards. He says when his wife got pregnant, his focus switched from wrestling to raising his son. WWE saw what was happening with Balls and scrapped his angle with Kelly Kelly but tried to let him hang around and work it out. Balls was released from his WWE deal on April 28th, 2008.
