It's been long speculated that Triple H holds back up and comers from getting top spots in the company. There is plenty of evidence that supports this speculation. Prime examples are Rob Van Dam (circa 2004), Booker T (circa 2007), Kane (circa 2004), Chris Benoit (circa 2001), the Original Version One Stable (circa 1999), and CM Punk (circa whenever he got hired). It was speculated that Triple H didn't want CM Punk to be called up because of his Pepsi Plunge finisher (top rope pedigree) was more devastating than his. So when Punk went to the submission hold (anaconda vise), he was brought up to ECW, far away from Triple H.



But don't get me wrong, Triple H knows where there's money to be made. That's why at Survivor Series 2007 he played to the audience with CM Punk. Although it was hard not to when Degeneration X and the reunited Hardys are in the ring and being ignored by the audience that is chanting CM Punk's name.



So the fact that these rumors are going around, then when he leaves RAW, all the younger talent holds the titles, it doesn't help his image that he doesn't hold anyone back.
