The lack of themes for a PPV event

Wednesday, June 3, 2009, 12:30 AM EST [General]

Extreme Rules this Sunday... and I can't help but think... couldn't the WWE come up with a better name for a Pay-Per-View? Seriously, why not borrow the name WCW called their most 'violent' ppv of the year, Uncensored. Hey it fits! This raises the question of why doesn't the WWE come up catchier names to fit it's secondary pay-per-views. There's Night of Champions, which has a theme to it (every title on the line) The Royal Rumble (the main event being a 30 Man Battle Royal), Survivor Series (with the mutliple 8 to 10 person tag team elimination matches, Cyber Sunday (where fans 'vote' on the stipulations / match ups), Backlash being a 'Rematch PPV' and WrestleMania (being the biggest show of the WWE Calender). Recently No Way Out became the home of Elimination chamber matchers and Unforigen is supposed now be a PPV that features submission and called 'Breaking Point'. Now that leaves Armaggedon, No Mercy, Judgement Day and The Great American Bash (I refuse to call it 'The Bash') that needs themes to it. For those other PPVs, there's really nothing that can fit... The Great American Bash had at least a Patriotic feel to it, up till last year where it seemed more like Nascar. Seriously, I miss pay-per-views like King of the King, Halloween Havoc, Bash at the Beach, Road Wild, World War 3, and even WWE's former international PPVs where the PPV's had a theme and where the PPV name was cool. And trust me, TNA has the same problem there, outside of Bound for Glory (the biggest show of their year), Slammiversary (The anniversary show) , Destination X (features the Ultimate X match) & Lockdown (Every match in a cage) their PPVs don't really follow a reoccuring theme to them. They did try a concept for Sacrifice where everyone in the main event had something to lose if they lost. But the rest of their PPVs don't have a theme that matches the PPV names.

The Jerk in the White House compares Talk Shows to "WWF" Wrestling

Tuesday, June 2, 2009, 11:27 PM EST [General]

U.S. President Barack Obama told NBC's Brian Williams that he doesn't watch the political talk shows on cable because they remind him of "WWF wrestling." He said the various talking heads all play specific roles and he doesn't feel like he learns anything from their conversations.

    ******

Apparently The B.O. Problem of America doesn't know that the WWF is now the WWE and thinks that he's supposed to learn something by watching wrestling with what he expects from the political talk shows.

Keep in mind the political talk shows are all about VOICING OPINIONS. Like the WWE Universe or TNAtion, political talk shows are nothing more than just forums for people with big mouths to get their opinions noticed. I know this because I have a BIG MOUTH!

    Quick Thoughts: Mr. Kennedy

Saturday, May 30, 2009, 01:09 AM EST [General]

    With Ken Kennedy being released...

He'll go back to being MISTERRRRRRRRR

    ANDERSON......

    (Dramatic pause)

    Anderson...

(Which, for you kids that did not watch WWE Velocity or are aware of Kennedy err Anderson's indy career, was one of his billed names.)

    But seriously...

I just saw a report saying that Kennedy and Orton exchanged words prior to the match where Orton told Kennedy 'to be careful' so that no one gets hurt, Kennedy told Orton what to go do with himself and Orton ran off to tell some bigwig and things spun out from there.

Basically, Kennedy got 'Michael Hayes'ed except he was released and not sent to rehab.

I also saw a report where WWE Managment was mad over Kennedy dropping Randy Orton on his head during the 10 man tag.... I personally would've given Kennedy a medal for that... particuarlly if it forced Orton to be a test subject for Chris Nowinski's concussion study.

Now personally, I thought Kennedy should've been given the boot when he said he didn't do performance enhancers on Fox News and then gets NAILED for doing performance enhancers, and also when he continued to put his foot in his mouth.

But oh well, he willend up in TNA or ROH if he can ever stay healthy

    Some free floating thoughts

Tuesday, May 26, 2009, 12:42 AM EST [General]

The NBA Themed tag match tonight was pretty fun, loved the little touch with getting the Staples Center's PA announcer to do the ring introductions

I am a bit surprised how nice the WWE was towards the Pepsi Center morons

Mr. Kennedy returns to the ring... the count down to his next trip to the DL begins

Vickie Guerrero is going to be wrestling on a PPV? Someone in the WWE should just hire Missy Hyatt and dump Vickie back in El Paso ASAP! However Vickie will have home field advantage, she could get her cousin Miss Piggy to help train for the bout.

HBK out till 2010? That means now is MVP's time to step up and take the role as Showstopper in the WWE

The Denver ScrewUp - From A Different Point of View

Friday, May 22, 2009, 01:06 AM EST [General]

Let me say this first, the WWE should sue the hell out of the E. Stanley Kroenke and Kroenke Sports Enterprises in regards to them breaching the contract THEY AGREED UPON.

    That being said...

Because of the idiotict of the KSE in double booking the Pepsi Center, the WWE moved their show to RAW. Now I work in for a membership travel service (won't say which one here for obvious reason) and once the word came down that the WWE was switching their shows to LA, we got a major spike in change of reservations for folks heading to Denver who all of a sudden to wanting to go to Los Angeles and last minute booking requests for this weekend from all points of the country to LA.

Now obviously, the company I work for was very happy, cause hey, all those change of reservations fees really add up! But for me, it meant nothing but MORE PH-UCKING WORK! And believe me those folks (some of which explained this mess in Denver was the reason for their change is reservations) were not at all happy. Do you know how hard it is to get airfare, hotel and car rental reservations for a freakin' holiday weekend?! DO YOU?! Well if you don't have the right service, it's a pain in the arse!

So... KSE... thanks for giving folks like me more work and ticking off a boat load of traverles who were going to Denver, but now heading to LA.
