Hey everyone!!! Hope some of you are feeling the joy of McMahon's Millions. If you're like me though, no such luck, lol!!! Hopefully monday will be different though.
Speaking of which, 8 EST monday night will be the beginning of the new look RAW, Smackdown and ECW. And you'll ask yourself, well Kurt, i see that RAW is coming to my town and I have these matches advertised, certainly these stars aren't going anywhere?
Not so, if the recent sagging ratings are any indication, it's time for a major shakeup!!! So with that said, i'm gonna now give 5 superstars that the draft could be a really big help to and hopefully a fresh start.
1) Jeff Hardy That's right, Jeff, not Matt. And yes, he needs to go to Friday nights!! Since the Royal Rumble, how many shots has Jeff had at the WWE title? None. And that's counting a triple threat match at Mania and a Fatal 4 way at Backlash. He wasn't in either. Continuing matches against Umaga and Jericho? That what Jeff Hardy fans want?
Look, there is no title matches with either HHH or John Cena in Hardy's future. And another Intercontinental title run for Hardy? Maybe but is that what we want to see? A feud with the Edge/Batista winner ( if the world title doesn't go to RAW) and maybe a run in with his brother, now that would be a great career move. Jeff has endless possibilities on Smackdown. The sky's the limit for him here. I can't think of a better 'twist of fate' than for Jeff to be on Smackdown!!
2) MVP Ok, let's be honest, I wasn't a big MVP fanatic when he first came to WWE. But it's been nearly 2 years, and I have to admit, MVP is at the stage where Mr. Kennedy was a year or so ago. It's now or not at all. MVP has the attitude, he carries himself very good on the 'Mic', The 'Lounge' is a great segment, and personally, he's become a top contender to every title in WWE.
MVP vs Edge, never happen. Now, could MVP be a world champion, ABSOLUTELY!!! But with Vickie Guerrero in charge, I can't see that lasting. So with that said, it's time for a change.
MVP vs Shawn Michaels or HHH or John Cena? Phenomenal matches. MVP as WWE champion? Definitely could happen!!! MVP has won the WWE tag titles and the United States title in a little over a year. Imagine with him on Monday Nights what RAW and MVP could become. We'd see if he was 'better' than everyone else. Might be surprised.
3) Elijah Burke. Ok, Vince said over a year ago, Elijah could be the 'face of ECW'. Well how has that gone? Right, it hasnt. Elijah has been CM Punk and Tommy Dreamer's whipping boy for over 5 months now. In that time, how many title matches has Elijah had? None. Shelton Benjamin has overtaken Elijah as the hot prospect to become champion, and so has Kofi Kingston. So what's now?
Answer? Friday nights. Elijah would become an instant asset. Assume Elijah would get matches with Finlay, Batista, Matt Hardy. Elijah Burke would instantly become mid card to main event. And the one major roadblock that Elijah has in ECW, no secondary title, would be overcome with him going to Smackdown. He'd become a top contender for the United States title! I would take a ride on the 'Elijah Express' if it went to Friday nights!!
4) Kelly Kelly. Seriously, it's time. It's been over 24 months since she's debut in ECW. She's done strip poker, dancing, been a member of a dance trio. Since that time, she's proven she can fight, dance ( somewhat), and she's has a legion of fans worldwide.
So with that said, IT IS TIME!!! Don't care if it's Smackdown or RAW. Doesn't matter. But Kelly Kelly's time is here. She's a diva, we all would love to see her on either show, and honestly, watching her and Leyla catfight for nearly 6 months has got really irritating. Five years from now, we'll still be seeing Kelly strut.
Torrie is gone, Candice isn't around, We like Maria, but honestly, she doesn't get much air time, it's time for Kelly.
5) Tazz Now this one is a bit of a stretch, but speaking personally, JBL, Johnathan Coachman and Mick Foley, are not TAZZ!!! Foley has some humor, he's entertaining, but again, he's not TAZZ!!! Cole and Tazz we're a great team. We get Tazz's talent for what, an hour a week and maybe one match on PPV's? Tazz is a great analyst, Carrying Mike Adamle is no way to reward Tazz for his work. And though we'd like it, Joey Styles isn't walking back through that door i don't believe.
We want Tazz on Friday nights, heck we want Tazz any night. If he were working for UFC, we'd watch. If he worked for that other promotion on Thursday's, we'd watch. Though we love the King, if he were paired with good ol' JR, we'd watch.
Tazz's style is unmatched on TV. Name an analyst in the last few years that has worked as well. Michael Hayes, Coach, Paul Heyman? Nope. Tazz can relay the action and make you feel the moment. Heck, he's basically describes the reaction any of us have at that particular point in time. Tazz, I know you're one of the last real things in ECW, but Friday's are where you belong.
Thanks for reading, i'll be interested to see if any of these actually come to happen on Monday. Leave your thoughts, freely. Enjoy the weekend, OUT!!!
