Here is the current update for August going into September:
1. Christian
2. CM Punk
3. Jack Swagger
4. Dolph Ziggler
5. William Regal
Not much has changed.
The number 1 spot has stayed the same. Christian has proven since his return in February, that he could be a main eventer. The reason he held onto the spot was because his match with William Regal from the 8/25/09 episode of ECW. That match should of happened at SummerSlam, but whatever, it was a great match either way.
The number 2 spot is still held by CM Punk. The guy has had good match after good match since getting drafted to Smackdown. He would of taken the number 1 spot but Christian was able to maintain it. If Punk can keep having matches like he has been having with Jeff Hardy, Punk maybe able to take the top spot from Christian.
The number 3 spot was retained by Jack Swagger. When he got drafted to RAW he kind of fell off the map but he was able to maintain the spot after having a great six man match at night of champions, having a real good match with MVP at SummerSlam, having a phenominal match with Primo on Superstars(8/28/09), and having a pretty good fatal 4 Way on RAW(8/31/09). I don't think Swagger will be able to catch up to Christian or CM Punk, but anything could happen.
The number 4 spot goes to Dolph Ziggler, he has been gaining some real good momentum with he feud with Rey Mysterio.
The number 5 spot goes to William Regal. Ever since Regal has came to ECW he has gained a lot of momentum. This feud with Christian has been real good for him.
So Long to...
Mark Henry, he has lost a lot of momentum with this whole thing with Hornswoggle. The WWE had a chance to build him up to the main event but they almost killed all the momentum. Hopefully this tag team feud with him and MVP vs. Chris Jericho and Big Show can help him gain his momentum back.
Kofi Kingston, he has lost a lot of momentum. He is only put in matches with muiltple people, and the last time I seen him in a singles match was when the WWE had Big Show squash him. The WWE is going to drop the ball with him.
