    DX on Raw, 11/3/08

I hope no one here missed Raw—a huge show to say the least!  Not only did D-Generation X reunite to take down John Morrison & The Miz, but they were in top form as they directly addressed Miz and Morrison's claims from last week's ECW.

Speaking of taking down Miz and Morrison, DX did exactly that (who'd of thunk it?) when The Miz stumbled into a little bit of HBK's Sweet Chin Music and a Pedigree from The Game.  Now, normally I probably wouldn't need to specify whose maneuvers they were, but just prior to that John Morrison attempted and connected with Triple H using his very own version of Sweet Chin Music, followed by a failed attempt from The Miz to Pedigree Triple H as well.

You know what they say, folks—imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.  For Miz and Morrison to not only borrow antics that DX helped make famous but to copy their trademarked finishing moves too, you know that tonight and perhaps for the rest of their days, The Miz and John Morrison are simply going to... BE JEALOUS (of DX)!

The Dirt Sheet on... The Dirt Sheet

    The Dirt Sheet
    10/28 Recap
The ride towards Monday Night Raw's 800th Episode Celebration next week just got a little more intense with last night's airing of ECW. John Morrison and The Miz hosted a special edition of The Dirt Sheet in the middle of the ECW ring, inviting "DX" to join them as their guests. It's the season for politicking, which Morrison and Miz did thoroughly, not only producing a campaign-style video filled with smears, but then failing to back up a single one of their claims. But then, who could with DX as the target?

The Miz said that in the year since he and John Morrison have teamed up, they have surpassed almost everything DX has done in the 11 years since Shawn Michaels and Triple H originally joined forces. Let's take a hard and fast look at some actual data, which will disprove this baseless claim.

    • John Morrison & The Miz have 6 tag team championships between them, if you count their single reign together once for each man. Though Shawn Michaels & Triple H have never held a tag team championship together, between them they have 9 tag team championships to their names, which could be considered 10 if you count an oft-forgotten WWE tag team championship reign by The Rockers in 1990.

    • In 1990, neither John Morrison nor The Miz were likely to be smarter than a 5th grader.

    • John Morrison & The Miz first teamed up on the April 2, 2007 episode of Raw, in a battle royal for the World Tag Team Championships. The defending champions at the time were Shawn Michaels and John Cena. John Morrison and The Miz failed to win the tag team championships that night.

    • John Morrison and The Miz only became an official tag team in November of 2007, since which time DX has competed together in only 4 matches. If you ignore Triple H and Shawn Michaels' successful singles careers during this time period, one could easily arrive at the baseless claim made on ECW. Fortunately we all know better.

    • As stated, Shawn Michaels and Triple H often work alone; between them they have 16 Heavyweight Championship reigns, and 41 overall title reigns. John Morrison and The Miz have only 10 overall title reigns between them.

    • Collectively, John Morrison and The Miz have won a major championship for every 411½ days of their careers. Collectively, Shawn Michaels and Triple H have done the same for every 362½ days of their careers. This does not take into account the fact that Shawn Michaels was basically retired between 1998-2002, or Triple H's accumulated months and years battling back from injuries, which would only further increase the gap between DX and Miz/Morrison.

    • Before DX, Shawn Michaels was a two-time heavyweight champion and a two-time Royal Rumble winner. Before DX, Triple H was crowned King of the Ring (with King of Kings to come later.) Before Miz/Morrison, John Morrison tag-teamed with... Kenny Dykstra. Before Miz/Morrison, The Miz was... the host of Smackdown.

    • Triple H won the 2002 Royal Rumble. Shawn Michaels won back-to-back Royal Rumbles in 1995 and 1996. John Morrison was eliminated from the 2006 Royal Rumble by Shawn Michaels. The Miz was eliminated from the 2008 Royal Rumble by Hornswoggle.

    • When side-by-side, Triple H and Shawn Michaels have regularly competed with top-tier talent including but not limited to Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, Edge, The Big Show, The Undertaker, Bret Hart, Mick Foley and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, just to name a few. Miz and Morrison have regularly competed with... well, there's Jesse and Festus. And Shannon Moore and Jimmy Wang Yang. Ooh, don't forget The Highlanders. And Colin Delaney. Wow.

    • And one last thing: Miz/Morrison's much-ballyhooed-about tag team title reign was won upon the defeat of Matt Hardy and MVP, who weren't exactly operating on the same page that night or at any time during their reign. Yep, that's some resume, guys.

So don't be jealous... 'cause Morrison and The Miz are way overzealous.

Remember, DX vs. John Morrison and The Miz happens this Monday night on Raw! It's a 3-hour spectacle beginning an hour earlier than usual at 8 p.m. EST / 7 p.m. CST, so don't be late!

Thanks to OWW for the statistics.

DX Vs. Miz/Morrison Advertised for 11/3 Raw in Tampa, FL

Raw goes green two weeks from tonight as WWE celebrates its 800th episode* with a three-hour special event!  In a press release issued earlier today, WWE announced DX vs. Miz/Morrison as well as Chris Jericho vs. Batista.  (Looks like Triple H will have the chance to smash in the faces of the creators of "Sneezerman" after all!)

Please note, however, that it is unknown at this time if these matches will be televised—occasionally WWE will advertise arena-exclusive matches which only go on after the cameras are off.  So, all of you D-Generates in or near Tampa can guarantee yourself a seat—tickets are on sale now!

But given the momentous occasion and Miz/Morrison's promo tonight directly targeting D-Generation X, it seems likely that the match will be aired during the three-hour episode of Raw live on the USA network, so don't miss it!

DX REUNITES ON RAW - 9/29/2008

It was billed to be Chris Jericho and Lance Cade vs. Shawn Michaels and a "mystery partner." Earlier in the night, HBK kept us guessing just who would step up by suggesting some potential famous—and borderline absurd—tag-team partners.

Shawn continued teasing us later in the night, first appearing in the arena to the overture of his singles theme, before heading backstage to find his tag-team partner.  Enter The Game.  Who better to tag-team with HBK than his longtime running buddy (and one of Chris Jericho's opponents this Friday night) than Triple H?

DX was dominant as always. But sensing defeat, Jericho and Cade ran nonstop interference for each other—allowing Jericho to take out Triple H with a Codebreaker and giving Jericho and Cade opportunity to beat down Shawn Michaels, resulting in a disqualification. Jericho headed to the ring exterior to retrieve a ladder in hopes of doing some early damage to HBK.

But DX had the last laugh when Triple H returned to the ring with his sledgehammer, causing Jericho to turn tail and leave Lance Cade to fend for himself. Cade ultimately fell victim to a chorus of Sweet Chin Music followed by a Pedigree, and a final big splash from Shawn Michaels, atop the ladder used earlier to "demonstrate" what Jericho plans to do to HBK on Sunday.

The message to Jericho was clear, but was the message clearer for Cade? Cade turned on his mentor, Shawn Michaels, to align with someone he felt he could trust. But given the opportunity to back up his boastful claims, Jericho chose only to "save himself" and left Cade alone to suffer the consequences.

But back to the topic at hand. As Jerry Lawler was quick to point out, if Shawn Michaels and Triple H are both victorious at No Mercy this Sunday, then D-Generation X will rule over the entire WWE Universe. (Something that we D-Generates have been prepared for since the ladder match was announced!)  So...

    Are you ready?
