Despite the mutual respect that Triple H and John Cena have for each other, when the ring bell sounded all bets were off. It would be hard to argue who had more to prove... Triple H, who had no prior victories over John Cena, or John Cena, the man NOT holding the WWE Championship.

Personal preferences aside, this match looked like it really could have gone either way at any moment—but fortune favored The Game tonight as he retained the WWE Championship and John Cena left with his first defeat against Triple H.

The question now arises—what's next for Triple H? Though he's the WWE Heavyweight Champion, he no longer has exclusive claim to the title of "Champion". Though it can argued that his victory means more—not having required outside assistance from multiple assailants—World Heavyweight Champion Edge has to be gunning for him... and Edge has the brand's General Manager, Vickie Guerrero, backing him up.

It's a new game for Triple H, and it begins this Friday night on Smackdown!

...from having to suffer through another night of Chris Jericho's Intercontinental Championship reign, that is!  Just when things looked their bleakest, Shawn ran interference for new Raw roster member and challenger Kofi Kingston, who summarily captured his first championship in WWE.  Congartulations to Kofi and here's to Shawn Michaels!

Well, obviously the 2008 draft didn't go the way the D-Generates wanted, but it is what it is and it's time to move on with things.  That doesn't mean that the D-Generates will cease to be or any such thing—the DX spirit will always live on here, and we'll keep the flame lit until the next DX reunion.

The D-Generates group will continue to be a source for relevant news on Triple H, Shawn Michaels and other DX alumni, as well as a place for DX fans to hang out on Fan Nation.

I'd also like to make mention of the fact that various wrestling news sites have reported that Triple H's draft to Smackdown will enable him to spend more time with Stephanie, their daughter and the one on the way, while Shawn Michaels' spot on Raw enables him to attend religious services back in San Antonio each week.  Given this information, what seems like a bad business decision for WWE is at least good for Shawn & Hunter personally.  And as we are their strongest contingent of fans on Fan Nation, we at the very least owe them gratitude for what they've given us over the years and respect for their personal lives, which they should never feel obligated to put aside.

So Shawn; Hunter—thank you.  Best of luck in all that your careers will continue to bring.  And know that we all look forward to the next time you "break it down."
