First off, let me wish all of you a happy post-Fourth of July week ... I hope your celebrations went well. It's always good to get together with friends and family, and kick back, grill up some hot dogs and burgers, and watch the skies light up with fireworks.
But, if you missed the fireworks on Coney Island last Friday, super-stomach Joey Chestnut downed 59 hot dogs, plus 6 more in "overtime" to beat the Japanese eating machine, Kobayashi, for the second straight year.
Amazing! Hats off to you Joey (and probably belts off as well....)
OK, now let's get down to WWE Fan Nation business.
**** If you haven't checked out the Superstars Profiles on the Nation lately, you'll notice that the new Intercontinental Champion, Kofi Kingston, the dangerous Diva, Natalya, and the sweetest Diva, Cherry, are all new additions to the site. Please stop by their profiles and make them feel welcome
**** Other than my blog, it's hard to get a quick roundup of what's new on WWE Fan Nation. That's why we're now using Twitter, the madly popular micro-blogging service, to keep everyone notifyed of the latest news and Superstar blog posts.
Just go to Twitter.com, sign up for an account, then follow our account, which is http://www.twitter.com/WWEUniverse. Or, you can just add the RSS Feed from the WWE Universe Twitter page to your RSS Feed Manager in your "My Hub" area, and see the updates whenever you login to your profile.
Also, you can follow the WWENews account(and its RSS Feed) at Twitter, which is a summary of all the things new at WWE.com, including videos, photos, industry news and articles/features.
*** We're back tonight with another Raw Live Blog ... the information is below. I hope you can join us, as the Great American Bash is just two weeks away.
Thank to all the new WWE Fan Nation members that have joined over the past two weeks, we've grown by 50,000 members to top the 100,000 member mark! This in less than three months.
That is HUGE and you, the Nation, deserves a round of applause!
CLAP CLAP, CLAP CLAP CLAP!
(just don't pull a Cody on me, ok? ... see picture above)
Let's celebrate tomorrow night on our weekly Monday Night Raw Live Blog, kicking off at 8:45 p.m. EDT. We'll discuss the latest fallout from Night of Champions and the upcoming statement from the McMahon family on the health of the Chairman, Mr. McMahon. The link and e-mail reminder form is below.
I'm full of energy right now! Not only because WWE Fan Nation has topped 42,000 members, but because I've just got done tasting John "Bradshaw" Layfield's latest energy concoction.
WWE.com's Joey Stylescame back from California bearing gifts from the New York-based millionaire and creator of the Layfield Lure and MamaJuana Energy. His latest berry-flavored beverage is called 418 Energy, designed to give golfers (and tired WWE.com editors) pain relief, lower scores and a mental edge on the course.
I'm planning on giving this energy drink a full test drive next week as the WWE softball team has a big game ahead. I'll give you all the details then. Maybe I'll knock a triple...
** In the meantime, big news on WWE Fan Nation. We have a tsunami of new Superstar profiles coming to the site next week. We'll have a new profile each day, starting Monday, all the way up to the WWE Draft on June 23. We're starting the wave with a WWE Hall of Famer on Monday.... let the guessing begin!
Plus, we're also going to have our first Celebrity Profile on the site next week ... a star of both the small and silver screens. More on that in the near future.
** Finally, I'd like to welcome the latest Superstar profiles to WWE Fan Nation:
Chelsea, England's own Katie Lea is the first WWE Diva to join WWE Fan Nation. The more beautiful half (at least I think so) of the brother-sister Burchill tandem joined the Nation this week, and already has 500+ friends.
WWE 24/7 Online is also part of WWE Fan Nation. Here, you can get details on all the latest updates to the popular on-demand video service on WWE.com, including the latest matches and special features.
It's only $3.99 a month or $39.99 a year to sign up for an all-you-can-watch subscription. Visit the WWE 24/7 Online site for this month's selections or to subscribe.
A couple of announcements for the Nation's best interests.
First, welcome the latest WWE personality to join WWE Fan Nation. WWE commentator Josh Mathews has his profile online, and will be blogging in the near future.
Josh has been part of the broadcast team at such WWE shows as
SmackDown, Velocity, Heat, AfterBurn, and The WWE Experience. He also
appears on WWE.com regularly with exclusives from the biggest WWE
events, such as WrestleMania.
Did Mr. McMahon just say he was giving away a total of ONE MILLION
DOLLARS live on upcoming Raw episodes as a form of fan appreciation?
As in $1,000,000?!?! Six zeros? That's one million dollar menu cheeseburgers! (inside office joke...)
The WWE.com office is buzzing about the news, even though we don't know exactly how The Chairman will give it away. Keep an eye on WWE.com all this week as we get the details on Mr. McMahon's money.
If you have ideas on how Mr. McMahon should give out his money, add
them to the comments on this blog post, or add them to the Raw Forums,
which reopen Tuesday morning.
Of course, that wasn't all the news out of Raw ... THE DRAFT IS BACK!!! June
23 live from San Antonio, Texas. I can't wait to see what will come of
that night, as all the WWE Superstars, Divas and announcers are up for
re-assignment.
Also, a special thank you to this lady...
The beautiful Maria joined our Raw Live on WWE Fan Nation Live Blog last night as our special guest, and answered WWE Fan Nation members' questions. Also, thank you to Joey Styles for participating. You can see the whole transcript of the chat session at this link. We hope to make WWE Live Blogs a regular occurrence on WWE Fan Nation.
