Some random thoughts as I watch the newest Internet sensation, the Puppy Cam... (no, not like Jerry Lawler "puppies")
SERIES x 3: So now we have THREE Survivor Series Elimination Tag Matches on tap for this Sunday -- easily my favorite part of WWE's Thanksgiving Tradition. And the one that intrigues me most is not the one you'd first think of.
The Team Smackdown vs. Team Raw Traditional Elimination Match is easily the most interesting, in the areas of match strategy and teamwork:
As announced on Raw, in honor of the recent release of THQ’s “SmackDown vs. Raw 2009,” five Divas from SmackDown will take on five Divas from Raw in a Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match. Team Raw will be captained by Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix with Mickie James, Kelly Kelly, Candice Michelle & Jillian filling out the rest of the team. Team SmackDown will be captained by Divas Champion Michelle McCool with Maria, Maryse, Victoria & Natalya rounding out the five-some.
With so many rivals on the same teams (Beth, Candice and Mickie for Team Raw; Michelle, Natalya, and Maria on Team SD), this match could see a lot of in-fighting amongst team members. But it also could lead to some surprise breakout performances. Look for the experienced Victoria and the rising star, Kelly Kelly, to play big roles in their team's success/demise.
But in the end, it'll likely take a 5-on-1 assault to topple the Glamazon. Unless Michelle's team can work some shenanigans to eliminate the Women's Champion by DQ or countout early on, they'll be facing an uphill battle.
PREDICTION: Take the Glamazon and Team Raw, with Beth and Mickie left standing.
NEW BLOGGERS: I'd like to welcome a beautiful quartet of Divas to WWE Universe. Nikki and Brie Bella, Victoria and Eve are all now blogging on our site. You can see their latest posts on their blog pages in their profiles.
Also, a special welcome to newest ECW blogger Chavo Guerrero, who wrote an excellent tribute to the late Eddie Guerrero several days ago. We're glad to have you all part of the Universe.
This gives us almost 80 WWE Superstars and celebrity profiles on WWE Universe. And with 223,000+ members and growing every day, we're fast becoming THE place to discuss WWE action on the Internet. That makes the Universe team very happy :-)
Speaking of which....
FORUM CONCERNS: Last Friday, I was able to spend some time in the Forum, talking with posters about their concerns about spam and what are affectionately called "trolls" -- or those who just post to cause trouble.
Yes, part of participating in a Forum community is dealing quickly with those who just want to antagonize others and cause problems. It's just one of those things.
But if you're not one of them, and you're in the Universe to seriously discuss WWE (or not, right "2000 Pages?" gang? :-)), there are things you can do to stop the "trolls" from wreaking havoc.
- First, If you see a post that is obvious spam, or is harassing in nature, hit the "Report Abuse" button on the first post of the thread. This lets the moderators on duty know and they can take action quickly to solve the problems and suspend the users involved. Moderators can also remove all of a user's posts and threads from the entire Forums and ban IP addresses of the most serious offenders, so it's important to quickly notify them.
- Second, If you see a user misbehaving on the site, DO NOT REPLY to their posts. Report the abuse and walk away. Replies just reward a troll, just like Milk-Bones reward dogs (still have puppies on the brain, sorry...)
Those simple tips will help our moderators keep some control on the Forum. And thanks to everyone who have made the Forums a great success here in the Universe so far.
