About This Group

This site is all about paying tribute and remembering the good old days when wrestling had meaning. Before the internet days and reading matches and rumors beforehand. This site is about the days when Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse Ventura called matches not storylines. The backstage area was a mystery and who can forget the funny cut promos where they actually made you believe they cared. This site will be mainly old school WWF from the 80s and 90s. If your looking for scripts and storylines your on the wrong site this is about classic gimmicks and titles which had meaning! Before the days of brands! If we had to choose between all three parties (brands Raw,Smack,ECW) they should have an option of NONE OF THE ABOVE and post in comment we want the good old days back! quote Jesse "the Body" Ventura

I welcome all my faithful wrestling fans who miss the good old days of the WWF.

    THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR!!!!!!!!

Today lets honor probably one of the greatest phenoms aside from the Undertaker to hit professional wrestling... The ULTIMATE WARRIOR!!!!!!!!  Now many people critize the Warrior because of that dvd and show negative thoughts about the Warrior because of that.  I thought the ultimate warrior character took professional wrestling to new heights at that time period.  Many felt that Warrior was suppose to carry the company from the moment of WM 6 and on.  I felt Warrior did a good job for the reign he had as champion.  But my opinion, Warrior wasnt destinate to be a long lasting figure like a Hulk Hogan, Steve Ausitn, Bret Hart, HBK, etc... Warrior I compare to Bill Goldberg of WCW.  Warrior came in with extradinary crowd reaction with intensity and just a big unkonwn about who he really was. Warrior wasnt about winning titles but taking the crowd on a one time journey and changing the face of professional wrestling.  Warrior became big at the time and did that young lion taking out old lion philosophy later used in the Goldberg/Hogan feud.  Of course as we know Warrior isnt a great wrestler or has a lot of skills but when you were a little kid watching that it was something really special.  Its hard for many people today to really feel what it was like at that time period.  Even though there are the Warrior doubters out there I am not saying you have to like the guy but respect what his character brought to the table and brought a great character to professional wrestling.  If there is one time to shine in the light Warrior made that accomplishment with one of the biggest wrestlemania wins of all time dethroning the Hulkster at a time when Hogan was the dominant force in professional wrestling.  Two best lead up promos too at WM6 between the Hulkster and the Warrior.  Warrior hopefully some day will be honored by being inducted into the Hall of Fame even though its very doubtful bc he isnt liked.  He absolutley deserves to be respected as one of the great phenoms of professional wrestling.  It's 1990 all over again check out the video and feel the power of the Ultimate Warrior!!!!!!

    Nature Boy Ric Flair

In honor of Ric Flair's Hall of Fame induction and retirement from being a professional wrestler we have to talk about the greatness that Ric Flair brought to the WWF.  One of my favorite matches with Ric Flair was at Wrestlemania 8 with Macho Man Randy Savage.  The feud between Flair and Savage went to another level with Miss ELizabeth to make the match more and more interesting.  Who can forget the great promos that led to this match and the hype they gave it.  The ring was so bloody by the middle of this ppv between Bret Hart and Ric Flair's blood.  Savage and Flair put on a hell of a match and Heenan made the commentaries excellent with his one sided commentary.  It was a nice surprise ending how Savage won the match and a good celebration.  The only downside is why the WWF didnt make this match last.  The Hogan/Sid match was aweful, I konw the Warrior coming back was a surprise but seriously.  Flair will always be known as a legend and a will always be know for his good promos and excellent feuds with many legends.  It is only proper that I show my respect by playing one of his good promos from Wrestlemania 8.  WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Take a ride on Space Mountain Liz

The Transformation from One Man Gang to Akeem

Here is my first blog with a video.  Today's focus is on the African Dream Akeem.  Once the One Man Gang was getting stale the WWF decided it would be a funny thing to stick the Gang in a alley with some African tribal thing going on to transform a fat One Man Gang to become an African Dream.  The first time I saw Akeem i started laughing and i still laugh to today about how funny he looks and acts.  You have a fat 450lb man with an eraser looking top hat moving his arms around like hes a defected robot.  You got the Slicker who is the funniest man on the mic and you have funniest fat man next to him.  The promos were histerical.  He had a good run with the Big Boss Man as the Twin Towers and I am really surpirsed they did not win the tag titles.  Oh an Akeems entrance music made you laugh even more when you heard that and saw Akeem giggle his arm around! Classic!!! I always remembered as kid i though it would be a good match to have African Dream Akeem and American Dream Dusty Rhodes to have a dance off you could even add Safire and Slick to it as well.

The glory days! I remember when wrestlers characters had moral value to them, I remember when the Tag Team championships were more than a footnote and they had real tag teams. I remember when wrestling really was wrestling and we had the greats, a more innocent time, that we will never see again, moreover I think a lot of people today wouldn't watch wrestling from back then, many don't appreciate it in my humble opinion.

I miss Gorrilla Monsoon and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan on commentry those two had great chemistry. Yet while reminiscing I cannot blame Vince McMahon fully for what has happened to wrestling, some of the blame has to go to fans who wanted it to become "more adult" those same fans who are now upset at the TVPG rating.

Lets face it, it has nothing to do with how much blood or swearing you put into a match, we just don't have the wrestling talent anymore.

This is a great group. Permission to land please?

The L.O.D certainly were an agressive tag team pearing. Full of hostility, they would own the squared circle. What a rush!
