Until yesterday I didn't have a big title for this weeks review. Yes, we had the 'Denver Debacle' and all of that what was going on there, we had the debut of 'WWE-Victoria' in TNA, but no title-changes, no major-storyline twists or turns and no matches of the Year nominees (though Taker vs HBK has that one wrapped up). But all this changed tonight:

HEADLINE OF THE WEEK: WWE RELEASES MR KENNEDY...... KENNEDY

Now there is the shocker of the week, month. Mr Kennedy made his long awaited comeback after another injury @ RAW, even challenged Randy Orton for the WWE-Championship and then everything went south in a hurry. Now I don't know if Kennedy really injured his wrist again, but it sure looked like it. Just before he almost hurt Randy Ortons surgical repaired shoulder with a very sloppy back-suplex as well - and now this. Matt wrote on his twitter-account, that he received a phone-call about somebody 'didn't learn from his mistakes' - I can only guess he meant Kennedy and that he got caught AGAIN red-handed via drug-testing.

It's just a shame, Kennedy had so much potential when he started, even Taker took him under his wings and made him a bigger star, then he won MITB and everything looked like he would be the next big thing - until injuries and mistakes derailed his career so quickly. Well, I guess it won't be the end of the road, because somewhere down in Florida they are already rubbing their hands - but be careful - Mr Kennedy is very FRAGILE.... FRAGILE.

 

MOMENT OF THE WEEK: CHRIS JERICHO ATTACKS REY

SmackDown had the moment of the Week, when Jericho, masked as a Rey-Fan attacked Mysterio and tried to rip his mask of his face. I like how this feud is going and it could be a really great long series of matches. Jericho and Rey are playing Heel/Face to perfection and both are capable to have excellent matches in the ring. I expect Jericho to win the title and then challenge Rey to a mask vs title match - maybe @SummerSlam

MATCH OF THE WEEK: JOHN CENA vs TED DI BIASE (SUPERSTARS)

Now Jeff vs Edge-Quality-like-Match this week, but we had two good ones that stood out in my oppinion: First Cena vs Ted DiBiase @Superstars - Ted is quickly becoming a star in his own right and now with Kennedy out of the picture he will become a major player sooner than later. Cena held his own in this one as well, as he does almost always. The other one was between John Morrison and Umaga (more later). Morrison is quickly rising to the top (no Mojo-Jokes please) and it is only a matter of time until he will wear gold around his waist again. Unfortunately we had a non-finish in this one, so the MOTW honor goes to Cena/TedDiBiase. 

 

SPOT OF THE WEEK: UMAGA catches JOMO in MidAir and samoan-drops him

This spot stood out immediately and looked so fluently, that I had no other choice then to name it SOTW. I also liked Carlitos Backstabber against Haas and the Double-Vertical-Suplex from Cena/Batista against Show, but the Samoan-Drop was just that much better.

 

WWE-SUPERSTAR OF THE WEEK: KOFI KINGSTON (RAW)

This one is a bit tricky - Kennedy could've locked it up, if he just stayed healthy - oh, and employed. But since he couldn't, the Superstar of the Week is somebody who started of hot, then cooled off a bit and now looks like he is gaining some steam again. I'm talking about Kofi Kingston who has the opportunity to regain IC-Championship-Gold in a match against MVP next week. Could be a good one, if given enough time.

 

WWE-DIVA OF THE WEEK: NATALYA

We had some nice Diva-Action this week, actually 4 matches with Divas in them, I can't remember last time we had that much in a WWE-week, unfortunately almost all were very short. Melina won against Fox in a ok-bout I guess. Fox needs a bit more experience in the ring, but she has some untapped potential. Eve and Layla didn't do too much, and didn't botch anything horribly, so no complains here. Kelly and Maryse actually had a nice one, that was cut short with a very head-scratching DQ and Mickie pinned Beth in a mixed-team-match (again way too short). But the Diva of the week has to be Natalya for her promo when she introduced the Hart-Dynasty. I still prefer Hart-Trilogy though. But nontheless - she stood out there and made Kidd and Hart-Smith look like Stars.

 

WWE-OMG MOMENT OF THE WEEK:

WWE-WTF MOMENT OF THE WEEK: Santino challenging Vickie to a 'Hog-Pen-Match'

Uhm... I don't think I have to explain that one. All I have to say is please WWE - let it go and drop the Santina charakter ASAP.

and then there was:

- Kendrick is still looking for a tagteam-partner. Goldust and Festus didn't work out, so maybe he should try and call London - and I don't mean the Capital of Great Britain

- Swagger pinning Christian AND Finlay in one week. This is what you call 'make an impression'.

- Dreamer can dance ... somehow...

- Khali can't

- McMahon doesn't like Enis... and Nuggets for that matter.

- Air Bourne had a match again and won against Mark Henry. I think Henry has quietly become very watchable and the Match against Evan was better than it had any right to be. Nice finish with open end also.

- Another week without Triple H, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker and Kane...

- The Dolph Ziggler bandwagon is rolling... he may become, what Kennedy would have IF...

- Flair will be wrestling soon again - unfortunately.

 

Finally - the 'EXTREME RULES-CARD' so far:

WWE-CHAMPIONSHIP / STEEL-CAGE MATCH: Randy Orton(c) vs Batista: I expect Orton to retain and Batista to lose his cool - again.

WORLD-HEAVYWEIGHT-CHAMPIONSHIP / LADDER-MATCH: Edge(c) vs Jeff Hardy: Let's put the title back on Jeff - Jeff wins and becomes WHC again.

INTERCONTINENTAL-CHAMPIONSHIP/NO HOLDS BARRED: Rey Mysterio(c) vs Chris Jericho: Could be Jericho winning with a dirty trick.

SUBMISSION-MATCH: John Cena vs Big Show: I guess Cena wins with a new (gasp) submission move.

SAMOAN-STRAP-MATCH: Umaga vs CM Punk: Punk needs to win badly after losing to Kane and Umaga back-to-back.

ECW-CHAMPIONSHIP/TRIPLE-THREAT-MATCH: Christian(c) vs Jack Swagger vs Tommy Dreamer: Can't imagine Dreamer winning, so I go with Swagger. But it's also possible Christian retains again.

MISS WRESTLEMANIA / HOG-PEN-MATCH: Vickie Guerrero(c) vs Santina Marella: Vickie with a little help of Chavo. And then Santina disappears... hopefully.

Bis gestern hatte ich noch keine große Überschrift für den Rückblick der Woche. Klar, da war das 'Denver Debakel' und alles was damit einher ging, dann gab es das Debüt von 'WWE-Victoria' in TNA, aber keine Titelwechsel, keine großen Storyline-Entwicklungen und keine Nominierungen zum 'Match of the Year' (obwohl Taker und HBK dies ohnehin längst eingesackt haben). Aber all das hat sich heute Nacht geändert:

SCHLAGZEILE DER WOCHE: WWE ENTLÄSST MR KENNEDY.... KENNEDY

Da haben wir also den Schocker der Woche, wenn nicht des Monats. Mr Kennedy hatte endlich sein langerwartetes Comeback nach seiner erneuten Verlezungspause bei RAW, forderte sogar Randy Orton für den Titel heraus und dann ging alles schief was schief gehen konnte. Ich weiß nicht, ob er sich tatsächlich das Armgelenk verletzt hat, aber zumindest sah es so aus. Kurz davor hatte er beinahe Randy Ortons operierte Schulter durch einen sehr unsauber ausgeführten Back-Suplex verletzt - und nun das. Matt Hardy schrieb via Twitter, dass er einen Anruf erhielt über jemanden, der 'von seinen Fehlern nicht lernen wollte' - ich kann nur annehmen, dass er Kennedy gemeint hat und dass dieser mal wieder einen Drogen-Test nicht bestand.

Es ist schon Schade, Kennedy hatte so viel Potential als er begann, sogar Taker begann ihn unter seine Fittiche zu nehmen und aus ihm einen noch größeren Star zu machen, dann gewann er MITB and alles sah so aus, als ob er das nächste große Ding werden würde - bis Verletzungen und Fehler in völlig aus der Bahn warfen. Nun, ich nehme mal an, dass dies nicht das Ende für ihn bedeuten wird, denn irgendwo in Florida reiben sie sich bereits die Hände - nur Vorsicht: Mr Kennedy ist sehr ZERBRECHLICH... ZERBRECHLICH

 

MOMENT DER WOCHE: CHRIS JERICHO ATTACKIERT REY MYSTERIO

SmackDown hatte den Moment der Woche, als Jericho sich als Rey-Fan maskiert Mysterio attackierte und ihm beinahe die Maske vom Gesicht riss. Mir gefällt wie diese Fehde sich entwickelt und es könnte eine großartige Match-Serie geben. Jericho und Rey spielen Heel/Face nahezu in Perfektion und beide sind im Ring jederzeit in der Lage großartige Matches zu haben. Ich erwarte, dass Jericho den IC-Titel gewinnt und dann Rey zu einem Maske vs Titel Match herausfordert. Eventuell beim SummerSlam. (andere Momene der Woche: Kennedy taucht wieder auf, Victoria mit ihrem TNA-Debüt)

 

MATCH DER WOCHE: JOHN CENA vs TED DI BIASE

Keines der Matches dieser Woche hatte die Qualität von Edge/Jeff Hardy von letzter Woche, aber wir hatten zumindest zwei ordentliche die meiner Meinung nach herausstachen: Zum einen Cena vs TedDi Biase bei Superstars. Ted ist auf dem Weg ein echter Star zu werden und nun durch den Ausfall von Kennedy ist der Weg frei für ihn um ein ganz wichtiger Bestandteil in der näheren Zukunft zu werden. Cena war wie immer in der Lage seinen Teil dazu beizusteuern. Das andere Match war zwischen Morrison und Umaga (dazu später mehr). Morrison ist auf dem Weg ganz nach oben (keine MoJo-Witze, bitte) und es ist nur eine Frage der Zeit, bis er erneut Gold um seine Hüften tragen wird. Unglücklicherweise gab es ein Non-Finish, deswegen geht das MOTW an Cena/TedDi Biase.

 

SPOT DER WOCHE: UMAGA fängt JOMO auf und hämmert ihn per Samoan-Drop zu Boden.

Dieser Spot fiel sofort aus und sah so flüssig aus, dass es keine andere Wahl geben konnte, als ihn SOTW zu nennen. Mir gefiel auch Carlitos Backstaber gegen Haas und der Doppel-Vertical-Suplex von Batista und Cena gegen Big Show, aber der Samoan-Drop war einfach das bisschen besser.

 

WWE-SUPERSTAR DER WOCHE: KOFI KINGSTON

Dieses war ein bisschen schwierig - Kennedy hätte es eigentlich werden sollen, wenn er nur gesund geblieben wäre, und natürlich von WWE angestelt. Aber weil er es eben nicht konnte, ist der Superstar der Woche jemand, der unglaublich heiß startete, dann schnell abkühlte und zuletzt wieder Fahrt aufnehmen konnte. Die Rede ist von Kofi Kingston, der nächste Woche die Gelegenheit erhält den IC-Titel gegen MVP zurück zu gewinnen. Könnte richtig nett werden, wenn es denn genug Zeit erhält.

 

WWE-DIVA DER WOCHE: NATALYA

Diese Woche hatten wir einige nette Diva-Action, sogar 4 Matches mit Divas in Beteiligung - ich kann mich nicht erinnern, wann es dass das letze Mal in einer WWE-Woche gab. Unglücklicherweise waren alle doch recht kurz. Melina gewann gegen Fox in einem ganz soliden Match. Fox braucht ein bisschen mehr Ring-Erfahrung aber sie hat eine Menge Potential. Eve und Layla machten nicht all zu viel und hatten keine groben Schnitzer, von daher gibt es hier keine Beschwerden. Kelly und Maryse ihrerseits hatten ein sehr nettes Match, dass aufgrund dieser seltsamen DQ-Regelung doch ein wenig zu kurz verlief und Mickie pinnte Beth in einem Mixed-Team-Match (wiedermal viel zu kurz). Aber die Diva der Woche ist für mich Natalya für ihre Promo in der sie die Hart-Dynasty (mir gefiel Hart Trilogy dennoch besser) vorstellte. Sie ragte heraus und machte aus Kidd und Hart-Smith Stars.

 

WWE-OMG MOMENT DER WOCHE:

WWE-WTF MOMENT DER WOCHE: Santino fordert Vickie zu einem 'Hog-Pen-Match' heraus.

Ich denke ich muss das nicht erklären. Alles was ich dazu zu sagen habe: Bitte liebe WWE, lasst es sein und gebt den Santina-Charakter ein für alle mal auf - so schnell als möglich!

 

UND DANN WAR DA NOCH:

- Kendrick sucht nach wie vor nach dem Tagteam-Partner. Goldust und Festus haben nicht funktioniert, vielleicht sollte er mal London anrufen - und ich meine hier nicht die Hauptstadt Großbritanniens.

- Swagger pinnte sowohl Christian als auch Finlay innerhalb einer Woche. Das nennt man wohl 'Eindruck machen'.

- Dreamer kann tanzen - irgendwie...

- Khali nicht...

- McMahon mag keinen Enis - und keine Nuggets...

- Air Bourne hatte endlich mal wieder ein Match und gewann sogar gegen Mark Henry. Ich muss sagen Henry hat sich heimlich, still und leise zu einem sehr ansehnlichen Wrestler gemausert und sein Match gegen Evan war besser, als man erwarten durfte. Nettes Finish mit offenem Ende, dazu.

- Eine weitere Woche ohne Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker und Kane...

- Der Dolph-Ziggler-Bandwagon rollt... er könnte das werden, was Kennedy werden sollte WENN...

- Flair wird bald wieder wrestlen - leider.

WORLD-HEAVYWEIGHT-CHAMPIONSHIP / LADDER-MATCH: Edge(c) vs Jeff Hardy: Gebt Jeff den Titel wieder: Jeff gewinnt und wird neuer WH-Champion.

INTERCONTINENTAL-CHAMPIONSHIP/NO HOLDS BARRED: Rey Mysterio(c) vs Chris Jericho: Könnte Jericho mit einem unfairen Trick gewinnen.

SUBMISSION-MATCH: John Cena vs Big Show: Ich denke Cena gewinnt hier mit einem neuen (staun) Finishing Move.

SAMOAN-STRAP-MATCH: Umaga vs CM Punk: Punk muß unbedingt gewinnen, nach dem er zuletzt gegen Kane und Umaga verlor.

ECW-CHAMPIONSHIP/TRIPLE-THREAT-MATCH: Christian(c) vs Jack Swagger vs Tommy Dreamer: Kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass Dreamer tatsächlich gewinnt, also tippe ich auf Swagger. Könnte aber auch eine erneute Titelverteidigung Christians bedeuten.

MISS WRESTLEMANIA / HOG-PEN-MATCH: Vickie Guerrero(c) vs Santina Marella: Vickie mit ein bisschen Hilfe von Chavo. Und dann verschwindet Santina für immer... hoffentlich!
