Sorry I haven't been on here that much this summer... Home computer's down, so I've been going to the library... I'll be attending Washburn University this fall with a bachelor's in Mass Media (Journalism) with emphasis on Media Writing/Publishing! My son Kory will be starting Middle School ... Busy all around! :) He's been busy with Boy Scouts & Camp Hammond. As long as he's out of trouble, it's all good...
People share many forms of passion for only a brief moment or last throughout a lifetime. They can define one’s personality and reflect on what they want to do in life. The following four are examples of passions I have in my own life that I’d like to share with each and every one of you… Reading, Writing, Romance and Wrestling…
Reading defines opening a book. Eyes and thoughts flicker through pages of knowledge… for the pure escape of one’s current state of Reality… It represents learning and a form of entertainment that stimulates both the mind and imagination. One person could have a different opinion although they read the same story. Reading can be an inspiration that has no age limit, is universal, and can be passed on for generations to come.
Writing has evolved from ancient walls located deep inside dark caves to etching on rock tablets during Biblical times. It went on to rolling out a scroll, dipping a feather into a small jar of ink. Before typewriters or computers were in existence, all one needed was a sheet of paper and a pen (or a pencil). Today’s modern society of writing consists of e-mails and blogs (web logs) via computer, or by texting, an evolved form of shorthand, typing on a microscopic keyboard on a cell phone, in addition of carrying on a conversation while on the go.
Writing involves jotting down your thoughts, opinions and dreams. It can be public like inside a newspaper column, or private such as within a diary where one can record their most intimate thoughts under lock and key without fear of embarrassment. People can write to express their thoughts and share their point of view with others. Writing can start at an early age and can be a fun learning experience that can be used throughout their lifetime.
Romance can come across in many ways... It has its shares of ups and downs that can be traced back to the time of Adam and Eve, Earth’s First Couple. Many people may have their own personal opinions about Romance, or what they’d like it to be… It can be defined as good… Puppy Love, Childhood Crush, First True Love, Going Steady, Courting, Engagement, Marriage; or it could have its dark side… Pain, Heartache, Jealousy, Cheating, Fighting, Lying, Dying, Crying, Divorce…
Romance can also be defined as a Fantasy… being rescued by “Prince Charming” riding by on a flowing white horse, ready to whisk one away to Love, Ever After… Many of us have read fairy tales as children, or have read them to our own kids. Some enjoy watching soap operas on television while taking a break from their daily routine, or cuddle up with their loved one while watching their favorite romantic movie, whether it be a classic or the latest romantic comedy…
Wrestling… A form of sports entertainment that has been traced back to carnival fairgrounds with its own language that evolved into performing in huge arenas on live television with millions of fans that circle the globe. Today’s wrestling careers can begin as a child playing with their friends, competing with a team in high school, to scholarships in college or for the Gold in the Olympics! Wrestling can also be a serious business and requires a lot of training to ensure its safety of their wrestlers. There isn’t a limit on height or weight or if you’re a man or woman!
Wrestling Entertainment can be enjoyed in many ways: Watching it on TV or live in person, reading about your favorite Superstars, writing about the latest main event, or about the many whirlwind romances! My son also shares my love of wrestling and wants to become one someday! (After winning a Super Bowl first.) My dream job would be to interview my favorite wrestlers and to write for WWE Magazine! (Or marry Matt Hardy, whichever comes first!) It doesn’t hurt to have a “Hardy Fantasy!”
