Short and Simple today folks with Blog number 2. Backlash looks like a solid card that will deliver tonight in Baltimore. Mick Foley replacing the Coach and some great matche lined up. What I'm going to do is pick my Favouirtes to win and look at the optimistic side (when possible) of what happens if I'm wrong.
First up we have the United States Champion MVP v Matt Hardy.
I would love to see Matt Hardy win this one. Their Feud was brilliantly done until Hardy got injured. Matt made an unexpected (for me anyway) spectacular return at WrestleMania 24 and with their history in mind, it would be perfect for Matt to win. If MVP is to win however, it would be really interesting to keep Matt chasing until Summer Slam. A long time that may be but by Summer Slam everybody would go crazy to see Matt win and if he did, it would be a magical reaction.
Big Show v Great Khali.
Well as we have been made aware by WWE, The Great Khali is going back to his home country India and this will be his last match for WWE. I really hope they follow the time honored tradition for this one. This may not be a wrestling classic but these guys are monsters. A match like this may never happen again. Giant v Punjabi Giant. Folks this maybe the last time we get to see something like this.
Shawn Michaels v Batista w/Special Guest Referee Chris Jericho
This has potential to be the show stealer. Although it kind of annoys me that Chris Jericho is not actually wrestling on the card however I can only assume this is for a good reason. The good reason I hope being Shawn getting screwed by Chris Jericho. This would be the perfect set up for Jericho/Shawn Michaels feud. They had a great math at WrestleMania 19 and I'm sure would have a spectacular feud again with a phenomanal match to follow. A win over Shawn Michaels would be hugh for Batista too. This would definately put him back into the title picture which brings me to the the optimistic side to Shawn winning. This would also result in a possible title shot. This match is a win win.
ECW Championship match: Kane v Chavo Guerrero
A good build for this one. To me, Chavo should regain. I have a feeling that may not be the case but I'd like to see Chavo win. Their match at WrestleMania was an absolute squash. I think Chavo could do great things with the ECW championship. I'm not saying Kane wouldn't but I'd like to see him concetrate more on Smackdown full time.
World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker v Edge
This is another win win. I'd like to see Undertaker win and then feud with someone else. However I could see a hugh optimistic side to Edge winning. Well how would he win? Like he always does, outside interference. This would be great foundation for a Hell in a Cell match to follow at Summerslam using the in between pay per views to build it up. Either way this should be a great match. I'm excited about this one.
WWE Championship Match: Randy Orton v HHH v John Cena v JBL
Fatal Four Way folks. I like this because it's hard to see what direction this will go. I want to see Randy Orton retain. Orton has been nothing short of brilliant through his title run. I wouldn't like Randy to loose it tonight but if he does I hope John Cena gets it and finally turns heel officially. Because if John Cena does officially turn heel and goes back almost to how he was at the begginning I garuntee it will be gold to watch. John Cena heel champion full throtle. Whatever the out come this look like it will be a classic. One more thing: who ever does win FOR GODS SAKE or ours anyways BRING BACK THE WINGED EAGLE BELT!!!!!
Until next time,
Bren
